  1. PART 6: Day 15
  2.
  3. As hard as you tried, you couldn’t really sleep through most of the night. There were simply too many things rushing through your mind. Well, it was mostly Applejack that was running through your mind. Luckily, she stayed asleep the entire night. You just lied there with her, in her bed, holding her as she slept. Anytime she moved, you moved with her, and she would acknowledge your attachment with a sleepy kiss. Every second that you were conscious felt like an eternity of warmth and happiness, and you attribute that completely to Applejack.
  4.
  5. You just wish that she would wake so you could look into those gorgeous, green eyes again. Any maybe steal another kiss from her lips.
  6.
  7. You also started to wonder how Rarity was doing. Though she knew that you were going on a date with Applejack, you don’t think that she would have guessed that you two would sleep together. She was going to be worried about you, you knew it. Rarity is overprotective of you, and she always has been. Maybe you should have at least gone back and let her know.
  8.
  9. Or maybe you were worried that she would be heartbroken that you slept with Applejack. As much as you want to not think about it, you’re going to have to tell Rarity sooner or later.
  10.
  11. You lay in Applejack’s bed, staring out the window. The sun was just starting to rise again, and you could see its rays illuminate the small snowflakes that were falling gracefully to ground. You used to despise the winter, but now you attribute the best time of your life to it. You still have plenty of time before work, so there’s no rush in leaving Applejack’s side yet.
  12.
  13. You decide to get up for a second. You gently move Applejack as to not wake her. You get up from the bed and stretch, scratching the top of your head and chin. You turn to look at your beautiful orange mare. She was still sleeping peacefully, but her posture had changed. Her subconscious must have realized that you’ve left.
  14.
  15. What do?
  16.
  17. >A) Go lay down with her again, you can tell she needs you.
  18. >B) Walk quietly around the room, at least for a little bit.
  19.
  20.
  21.
  22.
  23. CHOICE A
  24.
  25. You can’t leave your sweetheart just yet. You stretch once more and slowly return to Applejack’s side. Applejack immediately holds on to you, and nuzzles your chest. You give her a small peck on her forehead, careful not to wake her. She responds with a subtle giggle and you see her eyes slowly open. Oops.
  26.
  27. You stroke her mane gently and smile at her. She looks up at you with loving eyes, not saying a word. She is just in the moment right now, as are you. Applejack slowly moves her head up from your chest to your neck. She starts to kiss it slowly, and passionately. You hold her tighter as she continues to give you the utmost affection.
  28.
  29. This feels great….
  30.
  31. AJ: 97 (+1)
  32.
  33. What do?
  34.
  35. >A) Lie there and enjoy it.
  36. >B) Give her some lovin’ back.
  37. >C) Say something: [Free Response]
  38.
  39.
  40. CHOICE C
  41.
  42. You move Applejack to the side of the bed gently. She gives you a worried look, like she did something wrong. You smile at her and give her a big kiss. She kisses you back even harder causing you to fall backwards a bit. She wraps her hooves around you continues to kiss you. You respond by wrapping your arms around her waist.
  43.
  44. You pull apart eventually. She looks at you in the eyes, blushing and giggling.
  45.
  46. “Well good morning to you too.” You say. “Did you sleep well?”
  47.
  48. “Ah sure did, sugar...” she replies, giving you another kiss. “Ah take it you did as well?”
  49.
  50. What say?
  51.
  52. >A) I couldn’t really sleep.
  53. >B) Best sleep I’ve ever had.
  54. >C) Stay quiet, just go back to kissing her.
  55.
  56.
  57. CHOICE B
  58.
  59. “It was the best sleep I’ve ever had.” You say. Applejack lays on top of you, and returns to kissing your neck. You don’t fight it, you like letting her be in control.
  60.
  61. “It’s a shame ya’ll have to go to work in a few hours.” Applejack says quietly. “Ah’d just love to spend all mornin’ with ya... but’s its alright.” She lays back next to you, laying her head down on your chest. “Ah get to have ya whenever I want from now on. Right?” She looks up at you expectantly. She’s ready to make this official, and it couldn’t be any more obvious.
  62.
  63. But what about Rarity?
  64.
  65. You gave Applejack one night, and although it was fantastic, it was but ONE night. Rarity was under the impression that she would get a chance too. If you told her that you and Applejack were officially together, it might break her heart.
  66.
  67. Applejack looks at you tenderly, awaiting your response.
  68.
  69. What say?
  70.
  71. >A) You can have me whenever you want, Applejack.
  72. >B) I love you, but I just need a bit more time to decide.
  73. >C) Claim that you had to be at work a few hours early, leave.
  74. >D) Say nothing.
  75.
  76.
  77. CHOICE A
  78.
  79. “You can have me whenever you want, Applejack.” You say smoothly. Applejack responds with another big kiss on the lips.
  80.
  81. >>>>AJ: 100 (+3)<<<<
  82.
  83. That was it then. Applejack was yours. And at that moment, you feel like your staying in Ponyville was worth it. You’ve forgotten all that you left behind weeks and weeks ago. Your family, your friends, your old life. They meant nothing to you. This is where your new life would be. You’ve replaced it for the better. Your absolutely happy with your choices, and that is what’s important.
  84.
  85. But this chapter of your life isn’t through just yet.
  86.
  87. Rarity.
  88.
  89. You still have to tell Rarity. She deserves to know. The white mare that saved you, that let you stay with her, that truly loved you before anyone else did. You had to tell her that you wanted to be with Applejack.
  90.
  91. Rarity said that she wouldn’t hold it against you if you didn’t end up choosing to be with her. You couldn’t help but think that she was just saying that to make the choice easier for you. You never wanted to hurt Rarity, those were never your intentions. But she had her chance before anyone else. She didn’t take them, so it was her fault, right? Right? Your head starts to hurt slightly.
  92.
  93. You’ll have to let her know tonight, after work.
  94.
  95. Applejack rubs your chest gently.
  96.
  97. “Now what, Anon?” she asks tenderly. You glance over at the clock; 8:20am.
  98.
  99. What do?
  100.
  101. >A) Leave, you need to get ready for work.
  102. >B) Tell her about Rarity.
  103. >C) Just stay in bed with Applejack a bit longer.
  104.
  105.
  106. CHOICE B (+C)
  107.
  108. Applejack is your heart and soul now. But you have to tell her about how you feel about Rarity. You’re certain that Applejack won’t be upset about it, but you’re more worried about how Rarity will feel.
  109.
  110. You sit up in the bed, pulling Applejack close to you. You explain to her your situation with Rarity. You tell her everything; the first night, the massage, all the things you did for her, her admitting that she loves you, her beating herself up about not acting sooner. Everything. Applejack says nothing. She just listens.
  111.
  112. You’re not sure how you feel about saying all of these things.
  113.
  114. You finish, and Applejack looks at you with a frown. You bury your head in your hands. Your head was pounding. Applejack tries to make you look at her, but you don’t move.
  115.
  116. “Anon…” she says gently. “I’m glad that you’ve told me these things…. But I need to know… How do you really feel… about Rarity?”
  117.
  118. What say?
  119.
  120. >[Free response]
  121.
  122.
  123.
  124.
  125. “Rarity has been a great friend to me.” You say to Applejack. “She is wonderful, and she has a big heart. She was kind to me from the beginning. I can never truly repay her for that. But none of that matters. What matters is you and I, right here, right now. I love you, Applejack. That’s why I’m here with you, and not with her.”
  126.
  127. You look up at Applejack; a single tear is running down her cheek. You wipe the tear from her cheek, almost instinctively. “What’s wrong?” She wraps her forehooves around your neck.
  128.
  129. “Ah can’t believe that after all ya just told me…” she sniffles a bit. “Ya still chose to be with me…. Ah don’t deserve to be with someone as honest and true as ya, sugarcube.” She sniffles a bit more. You rub her back a bit.
  130.
  131. “Anon… ya’ll really do love me?” she asks, her frown turning into a smile. “Ya’ll mean it?”
  132.
  133. What say?
  134.
  135. >[Free Response]
  136.
  137.
  138.
  139. “Applejack, I’ve never been more sure in my entire life.” You say. “No words can properly express how much love I have for you. You run through my mind all the time. You’re the reason that I want to work so hard. I want to do everything for you.
  140.
  141. “When I’m with you, everything feels so right in the world. My problems escape me and are replaced by the mere thoughts of you. I can’t help but smile when I think of you. Just being near you is good enough for me! It makes me feel good… and I love that feeling.” Tears start to flow from her eyes. She is absolutely smitten with you, you can see it in her eyes.
  142.
  143. “You deserve someone who will take care you and always treat you well. That’s why I’m here. You make me want to be a better person, better than anyone else.” Applejack starts to cry more and more, but she can’t help but smile at you while you keep buttering her up. “I want to better for you.  Just you, Applejack. I don’t care what any other pony says. All I care about is you. And I will prove it anyway you need me to.”
  144.
  145. You lean in and kiss her. She falls back on the bad and pulls you on top of her. You both lie there, stuck in a passionate embrace. Time feels like it has stopped. The world around you has melted. You feel like you are just floating in the ether. Nothing can ruin this moment. You won’t let that happen.
  146.
  147. “Ah hope you never leave me, Anon…” Applejack says to you. You don’t reply with words, but with another kiss.
  148.
  149. “I won’t ever leave you…” you think to yourself.
  150.
  151. ~~
  152.
  153. It is difficult to explain what happened after that morning. You don’t remember leaving Applejack’s house. You don’t remember going to work. You don’t remember Octavia almost beating Vinyl with a violin. You don’t remember leaving work.
  154.
  155. But here you are, walking back to Rarity’s Boutique. Hands in your pockets, absolutely lost in your own thoughts. You are ready to tell Rarity, yet you are still unsure of the outcome. But no matter. It has to be done.
  156.
  157. You enter the Boutique, looking for Rarity. She isn’t in the workshop, nor the kitchen, nor the bathroom.
  158.
  159. What do?
  160.
  161. >A) Check her bedroom.
  162. >B) Wait downstairs.
  163.
  164.
  165.
  166. CHOICE B
  167.
  168.
  169. You sit on the couch downstairs and wait for Rarity to return. You notice all of your clothes have been washed and folded on your bed. Your bag is also on the bed, but it is opened. You walk over to it and empty it’s contents onto the bed. Out falls your notebook, your old letter from Rainbow Dash, your knife, a small pouch of sweets, and the small black box. You skim through the notebook to make sure everything is ok. You then check your knife; it’s been cleaned. The small pouch of sweets was a gift from Pinkie Pie, unfortunately you aren’t a big fan of candy. Then there is the small black box.
  170.
  171. You brought that box with you as your final remembrance from the life you left behind. You haven’t opened it since you’ve left. You haven’t really wanted to. Maybe it would feel nice to give it a look, for old times sake. You run your fingers along its edge and begin to open it.
  172.
  173. “Oh, hello, darling!” you hear from behind. You throw the box back on the bed and turn around. There was Rarity standing in front of the door.
  174.
  175. “H-hi, Rarity.” You mumble.
  176.
  177. “I didn’t hear you come home last night. So how was your date last night with Applejack?” she asks, walking over to you.
  178.
  179. What say?
  180.
  181. >A) Short reply; it was fine. Did a bit of this and that.
  182. >B) Give her the whole scoop. Including that you are with Applejack now.
  183. >C) Lie.
  184.
  185.
  186. CHOICE B
  187.
  188. You tell Rarity about the night. The wonderful dinner, the jazz lounge, and you sleeping over at Applejack’s. It was hard at first to speak, but as you went along it became easier. Rarity just stared at you blankly as you talked. It was as if each word you spoke was an arrow piercing her very being. At least that’s how you felt.
  189.
  190. You skipped out on a few of the more explicit details, but Rarity understood well enough what happened. You ended with letting her know that you and Applejack are officially together.
  191.
  192. “And… I mean, that’s that.” You say, finishing up. Rarity didn’t respond immediately. She then gave you a weak smile.
  193.
  194. “Well… I sure am happy for you, darling…” she says to you. You notice her face becoming a bit pink. “You deserve to be happy, that’s all I care about!” Her eyes start to tear up. “I wish you and Applejack… the best.” She turns around and heads upstairs.
  195.
  196. R: 70 (-5)
  197.
  198. What do?
  199.
  200. >A) Go after her, ask her if she is ok.
  201. >B) You did your job, there is nothing left to do.
  202. >C) Stay downstairs for a bit, just relax.
  203.
  204.
  205.
  206.
  207.
  208.
  209. CHOICE B
  210.
  211. You can’t help but feel a bit rotten about letting Rarity know the truth. It had to be done, but man it couldn’t have been harder. You plop on the couch and let out a big sigh.
  212.
  213. You wish there was a way that you could make Rarity happy. She has done so much for you, but you feel like there is absolutely no way to repay her properly anymore. But what truly matters in the end is how you feel. And you are happy that you are with Applejack. But the thought of Rarity still bites at your heels.
  214.
  215. You reach over to bed and grab the small black box. You open it slowly and gently reach inside. You pull out a small heart-shaped pendant. It was a graduation gift from one of your old friends at the Conservatory. With it was a note written on an old scrap piece of music paper. You pull it out and read it:
  216.
  217. “Anon, I had a great four years with you. We made it together, and I couldn’t have done it without you.
  218.
  219. I know you are upset that I’m leaving in a few days, but don’t worry. We will always be friends. I know we’ll see each other again someday.
  220.
  221. Keep your friends close to your heart, and everything will fall into place eventually.”
  222.
  223. ~
  224.
  225. Where do we go from here?
  226.
  227. >A) Go talk to Rarity.
  228. >B) Wait downstairs a bit longer.
  229. >C) Pack up your stuff and leave.
  230.
  231.
  232.
  233. CHOICE B
  234.
  235.
  236. You pack up the pendant and the note. If Rarity was your true friend, then everything would work out in the end.
  237.
  238. You head over to the kitchen and brew a pot of tea. You sit at the table staring out the window. The snow had picked up a lot since the morning. The sun was fading, giving the sky that familiar orange hue. The tea kettle whistles.
  239.
  240. You walk over and pour a mug. It smells absolutely fantastic.
  241.
  242. “Is there enough for me?”
  243.
  244. You turn around and see Rarity, giving you an innocent look. You nod and poor her a mug as well. You walk it over to the table and sit down. She joins you, complimenting the smell of the tea. You take a sip of the tea. Rarity looks at you as if she was about to say something.
  245.
  246. What do?
  247.
  248. >A) Ask her what is up.
  249. >B) Sit quietly.
  250.
  251.
  252.
  253. CHOICE B
  254.
  255. You both sit for a few minutes, sipping your teas. You decide not to say anything yet. Rarity goes from looking at you, to looking at her tea, and back to you. It is slightly worrisome, but you think nothing of it.
  256.
  257. You finish your tea and get up to get some more.
  258.
  259. “Would you like some more, Rarity” you ask politely.
  260.
  261. “That sounds delightful. This is very good tea, Anon.” You pour her a bit more tea, then you fill your own mug up again and sit down. Rarity looks at you with a smile.
  262.
  263. “You know, Anon…” Rarity says. “I really am happy for you and Applejack.” She sips a bit more of her tea.
  264.
  265. You heart skips a beat.
  266.
  267. What say?
  268.
  269. >A) Nothing.
  270. >B) You mean that, Rarity?
  271.
  272.
  273.
  274.
  275.
  276.
  277.
  278.
  279.
  280. CHOICE B
  281.
  282. “Do you… do you mean that, Rarity?” you ask. She nods happily at you.
  283.
  284. “Of course I am, darling. I told you already, I just want you to be happy. And being with Applejack makes you happy, does it not?” You nod quietly. “Then who am I to be upset or jealous? My best friends are happy together. That alone is just… absolutely fantastic. I may have been a bit jealous at first… wanting you all to myself… but that wasn’t fair to you. I was hurting you and I could tell.”
  285.
  286. “Best friends…?” you start to say. Rarity sips more of her tea.
  287.
  288. “Yes, darling. You two are my best friends.” She says smiling at you. “Being in a relationship is fine, but having a best friend is different altogether. And Anon, I’d rather you be my best friend for life. That way, I know you will always be there for me if I need you, and I will always be there for you.”
  289.
  290. You sit there, staring at her. You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. She smiles at you, awaiting your response.
  291.
  292. What say?
  293.
  294. >[Free Response]
  295.
  296.
  297. You get up and hug Rarity tightly.
  298.
  299. “I am so happy to hear you say these things. I was worried that I was going to lose a best friend.” You say. Rarity hugs you back.
  300.
  301. “You were never going to lose me, Anon.” She says reassuringly. “You and I will always be friends, that’s a promise I can make.”
  302.
  303. “You are the best friend a guy could ask for, Rarity. Thanks…”
  304.
  305. And at that moment, everything finally fell into its rightful place.
