  1. >A cool night’s breeze blows through the windows and across your tired face
  2. >The night is making its usual array of noises accompanied by the soft sound of rain
  3. >Your once neatly trimmed facial hair has been replaced with a rough unsightly beard
  4. >It has been many years since you last pulled that trigger
  5. >You remember the day you made your official retirement
  6. >You close your eyes to remember the life you have lived for so long
  7. - - -
  8. >You were an assassin
  9. >Your boss had been a father to you since the day he found you on the streets
  10. >He taught you everything he knew; he turned you into something seemingly unstoppable
  11. >You were his best friend, his son, and his weapon
  12. >In time, he let you in on his past life as an assassin
  13. >Soon he received assignments and passed them onto you
  14. >You remembered everything he told you before your first time out
  15. >”Don’t be afraid, these are bad people who deserve what they get”
  16. >He told you the people you would be “taking care” of were drug dealers, gangsters, and other bad citizens
  17. >Before you left for that first assignment he gave you something
  18. >It was a tactical 1911 with a suppressor and a cold steel oss knife
  19. >The first kill was the hardest
  20. >Within your first year you had eliminated a lot of the major criminals in the area
  21. >You found it easier knowing that those who died deserved their punishment…you hated the idea of hurting those who were innocent
  22. >But that all changed… soon you found yourself dispatching government officials, detectives, and other figures of authority
  23. >Before long you had lost count of those you killed and your mind had become an emotionless abyss
  24. >But deep down inside you had retained your sanity and you hated yourself for becoming a mindless murderer
  25. >You wanted to do good not evil and then you snapped
  26. >You read the order for a target, some girl, pursuing a career in the medical field, carrying out an internship at the local hospital
  27. >It was midnight and you set out for your target, but things didn’t feel right
  28. >You couldn’t imagine what she could have done wrong, but whatever it was it must have been serious
  29. >There you were waiting in a parking garage for some girl you were supposed to kill
  30. >She begins a walk to her car and you snap out of your state of reflection
  31. >Beginning your slow walk from the shadows, you creep up behind her
  32. >She turns as you raise your gun to its resting place about an inch from her temple
  33. >For a brief second her eyes meet yours; they are a beautiful light green, unlike anything you have ever seen before
  34. >They become teary and the expression she gives you is one of scared innocence
  35. >Your heart sinks as you speak
  36. “I’m sorry”
  37. >You pull the trigger
  38. >The sound of brass hitting the ground and a soft thump of her lifeless body bring you to your knees
  39. >All the emotion you had repressed, all the hatred you had for the creature you had become, came rushing out of you as you cry over her lifeless body
  40. >She was innocent…and you killed her
  41. >You stand, pick up your gun, and begin to walk back to the place you call home
  42. >It is raining outside as you reach home…
  43. >You are broken and done with this life
  44. >you walk into your “Father’s” room
  45. >He is lying down, but turns to meet your lost expression
  46. >Reality sinks in and his old eyes grow wide
  47. >You pull the trigger and silence follows
  48. >After that night, you ran and kept running before finding your way to an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere
  49. >In time you had fixed it up enough to call it home
  50. >Living off the land was rough at first but you soon got the hang of it
  51. >3 years pass and you have felt safe and detached from everything for a fair amount of time
  52. >Until now…
  53. - - -
  54. >Your eyes open as you inhale
  55. >You gaze to the floor and whisper to yourself
  56. “All I ever wanted was to help those around me”
  57. >You look out towards the quiet moon
  58. “If I could make it all okay…I would”
  59. >As you finish your outward though you notice something unusual
  60. >All the crickets, owls, and other noises of the night seem to have stopped
  61. >An odd feeling in the pit of your stomach forms
  62. >Your heart starts beating out of control as the sound of gunfire breaks the eerie silence
  63. >Bullets start shredding through your home as you hit the ground and begin crawling towards your gear
  64. >You grab your gun, 2 spare magazines and your knife
  65. >The gunfire ceases
  66. >Your adrenaline is pumping as you hear voices and footsteps moving towards your bullet riddled home
  67. >The door is kicked in and in steps a man in a black suit
  68. >You spin as you stand and bring your pistol to his chest and put 3 rounds through him
  69. >You break for the front door and as you run through it you meet with another one of your attackers about to make his way in
  70. >Your left arm swings outward sending your knife into his heart as your right arm swings with it to bring your gun to his face; you pull the trigger
  71. >You pull your knife from the dead man’s torso and see another man raising a gun towards you from about 10 feet away
  72. >You raise your right arm with lightning speed and empty the last 4 rounds into your attacker with ease
  73. >All is quiet as you reload your pistol
  74. >You steadily make your way around the side of your house
  75. >You hear a shout
  76. “This is for Your Father”
  77. >You turn as a bullet collides with your chest
  78. >Your gaze meets a man, dressed like the others, walking towards you firing away
  79. >As another bullet hits you, you begin walking towards him, raising your gun and firing in a steady rhythm
  80. >You to continue walking towards each other, firing away
  81. >About 5 feet from each other his gun lets out a metallic click, signaling that it has fired its last shot
  82. >You fire the last bullet out of your gun and it hits his temple
  83. >His body falls back and hits the mud
  84. >You chuckle in a short-lived moment of victory before you fall to your knees
  85. >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUQuBBBzx-I
  86. >You look down at yourself, rain washing down your body, mixed with blood
  87. >You think to yourself as you sit there in silence
  88. “Damn… what beautiful night…”
  89. >You chuckle once more and look up at the stars
  90. >You remember your life, the girl you killed, the night you walked into your “father’s” room and killed him…the time you spent running away, and everything you wish you could have changed through the years
  91. >You release your final breath
  92. >Your body slumps forward as the world around you fades into a blackness
  93.
  94. >A soft voice whispers through the dark abyss
  95. “The road to redemption is a hard one, good luck”
  96.
  97. >You feel a tender breeze brush past your face and the warm rays of the sun beating down on your body
  98. >Your eyes slowly open only to be met with blinding light
  99. >You sit upright and Inhale deeply
  100. >The air is cool and fresh
  101. “This can’t be happening”
  102. >You check yourself over and notice you are wearing your black combat boots, black jeans, black shirt and vest, and your lightweight black leather trench coat
  103. >In your vest you find your empty 1911 with the suppressor still attached, 1 loaded magazine, and your knife
  104. >You notice your hair is neat and pulled back reaching the bottom of your neck
  105. “Just how I like it”
  106. >Your facial hair is trimmed and neat
  107. “Well, I’ll be damned…this is one hell of a dream”
  108. >It’s almost as if you were back to your old self
  109. >Still having trouble facing what is going on, you check to see if you have a pulse
  110. >You do…
  111. >You pinch yourself, expecting to not feel a thing, but you feel everything…
  112. “Well shit…This is really happening”
  113. >You look around and notice an eerie looking forest about a hundred yards ahead of you
  114. >And far off to your right there is an odd looking town
  115. “Ok…This clearly isn’t home, so, how did I get here”
  116. >You stand and think out loud
  117. “Ok, Well… I was an assassin, I ran away from my problem for some reason, there was gunfire, and then there was darkness, and a voice, the voice said the road to redemption is a—“
  118. >”HEY Whyareyoutalkingtoyours--“
  119. >”AGHHHH”, you scream as you spin around and fall on your back
  120. >”Oh my gosh I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to scare you”
  121. >You look up to see a bright and smiling pink pony looking at you
  122. >As you stare at it all you can think is what the fuck?
  123. “What the fuck”
  124. >You fall back and black out
