  1. Here's a lil' story based on the Rarity Takes Manehattan episode.  It involves an alternative ending when Rarity's friends really do leave her, and when she comes back to tell them she's going back to Ponyville she snaps a bit when she's told that she lost.
  2.
  3. Everything had gone off without a hitch, and she was on her way to the big top.  Suri Polomare wasn't some push over that let other ponies take advantage of her, she was one of them.  She'd have to thank Rarity again for everything the next time she saw her running off in tears, mane hanging lank and ugly across her face as she ran off in the rain.
  4.
  5. Suri stepped out into the muggy afternoon, the rain seemed to have moved on a bit in the distance, the sun hazy overhead as it tried to cut through the lingering humidity.  The city was alive with the sights and sounds of the modern pony life, better than that sink hole Rarity came from, something-or-otherville.
  6.
  7. The lavender mare waved at a passing taxi, leaving Coco Pommel behind to gather her prize winning outfits and supplies.  A stallion came to a hard stop in front of Suri, the last remnants of the rain dripping from his slick coat as the taxi car he lugged behind him rocked to and fro.  She hopped into the back seat and lay on her side, giving his flank a little swat as she directed him to the swankiest eatery she could think of, the local diner.
  8.
  9. Suri grew restless as the taxi was interrupted by frequent stops, the bustling metropolis busier than normal.  The taxi stallion cursed under his breath as he found himself going against traffic with the mare berating him to move faster.  He turned into a side alley to bypass the chaotic scene, trudging along at a quicker pace through the empty side path.
  10.
  11. The mare let out a happy sigh as she was away from the chaos of the city.  Sometimes she missed life back in Ponyville, though it was as constricting as this alley, keeping her from reaching her true potential.  Her train of thought was interrupted by the sound of water dribbling down and spattering against her hooves and the roof of the cab, but the return of a little bit of rain wouldn't sour her mood.  Something wet and heavy slapped across her face, the sound of the cursing stallion muffled as a mass of purple ropes seemed to fill the path.  The silky curtain was wet with the day's rain, the taxi cab lost in the thick forest as it trudged on through the mass.  They finally seemed to break free from the mysterious obstacle, picking up speed towards the end of the alley.
  12.
  13. The sudden downpour and rampaging stage curtain puzzled Suri, but not as much as the dark sky overhead.  She had never seen a sky so stark grey and dark, almost as if the sky itself was cast in shadow.  Her head slammed back with whiplash as the cart jolted to a halt, the stallion sprawled on his belly in a daze.  Maybe they'd hit something when they left the alleyway, another taxi perhaps?  Whoever the pony was that got in her way would pay for delaying her from a hot meal at her favorite diner.
  14.
  15. Puri's furious expression turned to one of utter shock and confusion as she saw the pillar of pearly gray filling the street and blocking their path.  Had there always been a building here?  There was a sudden sound of distant thunder, shaking the ground beneath her as the cart lurched over and sent her tumbling into the muddy street.  The gray monolith began to do the impossible, lifting from the ground, bits of asphalt and splinters of wood and mortar sprinkling from the bottom of it as it rose higher and higher.  Her gaze was transfixed on the huge indentation left in what was remaining of the main road, it taking up most of both sides, as well as superficial damage to the surrounding buildings.
  16.
  17. A horrible sound broke her from the trance, a bastard child of a giggle and a thunder cloud reverberating through the city street.  The pink mare's gaze rose, seeing the bottom of the pillar covered in debris, and then she saw it, her.
  18.
  19. Rarity towered above the city, her mane still wet from the previous rain, her eyes glazed and empty, everything that she wanted was taken from this little speck of a pony sprawled in the muddy street beneath her gigantic hoof.  A small smile spread along her muzzle, the emotionless glare soon blotted out from view as the gigantic leg lowered downward.  Suri tried to scream, but nothing would escape her trembling lips, her own hooves lifted up in desperation as the several taxi wide sole plummeted downard.  The stallion was long gone by the time the hoof began to brush against the mare's legs, her breathing ragged and shallow as the unimaginable tonnage caressed her almost teasingly.  Only a little shift of the hoof and she'd become nothing but a piece of discarded gum on the bottom of some filly's hoof.
  20.
  21. The scream finally came as the hoof began to press downward, the lavender mare's legs burning with exhaustion as she pressed uselessly against the growing pressure.  Rarity's hoof pinned the tiny pony against the street, body sprawled and whimpering jibberish as the mud and sweat stained wall squeezed her body against the cold street...
