Introduction and Progress Report. While apprehensive, at first, to the idea of writing a journal on our progress open to Your Majesties, following a certain discussion, I have decided to join the writing. As I have no knowledge of the intention of these journals I will simply try to write as much as I am comfortable with and deem important. I should probably offer apologies for the formal tone of this journal, as I assume that this is not the custom. I prefer it due to its lack of ambiguity. My name is of no importance, any more, as I go by Ikea these days. Arriving on site on the 7th day of the FourCannon colonization expedition I nearly immediately set to improve the layout planned for the town, which had several flaws, earning myself the animosity of Nova Flux who was in charge of planning at the time. Some of these suggestions were met with approval while others were not and I believe that my friendship with Rain Drop is partly due to her support of me during this event. I have since settled in using my rudimentary knowledge of engineering and logistics to advise upon the location and design of various construction projects as well as infrastructure and other such matters. I am considering taking a second occupation as I find myself with far more free or wasted time than is prudent at this early stage.   I followed Lucyne and a few others to explore the mountainous regions to the north, ending up in a cave system, encountering and defeating a spectre imprisoned in a crystal. I took part in the first cockatrice raid on the catacombs, where I was injured and subsequently knocked unconscious. Luckily, the injuries healed quickly with rest and without consequence. The expedition was considered a success and the first step to safely map and exploit the system. I was voted head engineer in the first (proper) council election edging out Nova Flux who, while a most competent engineer, lost popular opinion, probably on account of her attitude which is rather abrasive. I also took part in one of the expeditions, headed by Green Hoof, to recover High Tide who had been lost in a previous venture. This expedition ended in failure as we not only failed to recover the captain, we also lost two able seamen, Bob and Green Sleeves. They were all safely recovered by a later expedition, however. One which I did not take part in.   All in all, I believe the colony is doing quite well, given the situation. Our lumber production is already up an running, thanks to the lumber mill already on site, we are finding and preparing veins of ore for exploitation and while I worry that our agricultural pursuits might not be able to feed us all the way to spring, by then our other resources should allow us to trade fairly for food.
