Title: New T7E Basics Author: IRFxNightFire Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/Ys2QEejQ First Edit: Sunday 31st of March 2013 09:05:48 AM CDT Last Edit: Sunday 31st of March 2013 09:05:48 AM CDT (Intro: You wake up and you see a dark-skinned grey-haired woman. She has an Arab accent, and looks experienced and world-weary.)   Welcome to Tangent. I don’t know where you came from, but maybe you should sit down. I’ll explain some things to you. Wow, you’re new. You don’t even know the date? Well, it’s 850 After Elements. I’d assume you’re new…maybe one of those Star People I hear about.   In world news, Sparcke and Crystell just ended their little land dispute after nearly 150 years. Gunpowder has been extended in use from simple parlor tricks to being used in cannons and hand cannons, using tightened barrels, fire and rope to ignite it. The Return, an anti-element cult, is spreading itself across the World, now taking its strongest root in Fraxx. Trade has been established between Myste and Altus, however the trading must go through Altus’ infamous Vietraq Province.   I assume you want to get yourself geared up? I mean, you can’t live in my attic, now can you? I used to be an adventurer, so here; I’ve gotten together a good collection of weapons. Take one. I’d like to give you a good start.   -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------         Them Weapons(All you really care about) Light Weapons(Quick stabby stabby) -Daggers -Throwing Knives -Short Swords -Grenades (Smoke if you got ‘em) -Javelins (Small spears, better for throwing) -Wooden Bows Medium Weapons -Fighting/Parrying Knives -Combat Swords (Usually referred to as just swords) -Spears -Composite Bows -Hand Crossbows Heavy Weapons (For the bullshitters) -Longswords/Zweihanders -Battleaxes -Metallic Bows -Warhammers -Rifle Crossbows -Hand-Cannons -Pikes ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That Magic(I feel it in my bones) Tangent is run by seven magical elements, each holding up a different part of the World’s balance.   There’s Frostia. Those who’ve learned how to use this element can control ice, snow and water. Frostia is worshipped chiefly by Crystell. Those who hail from Crystell find their spells more effective against the people of Flamia, while finding themselves short when using it against Electria.   After that there’s Flamia. A little hot and bothered, they can use fire, lava, and general heat to spice things up. It is chiefly worshipped in Sparcke. Those who hail from Sparcke know their spells are more effective against Necrox, and less against Frostia.   Necrox may seem a tad evil, but its existence is very crucial to the balance of the World, and of the Elements. It specializes in necromancy. The following mainly resides in Myste, and they are easily poisonous to Tornadia, while taking more damage from Flamia.   A classic, Tornadia is part of the four Classical Elements, dealing with air and wind.  Altus, home to the infamous Vietraq province, prays all day every day to this windy Lord, and they find themselves weak to Necrox, yet strong to Dustus.   Dustus, another Classic, has power over the rock, the dirt and the sands. In Fraxx they know how to bow down to this one. They are powerful against Atomia, and weak to Tornadia.   Atomia is a brand new Element that’s very uncommon in elemental-style play. The country Hadron consumes the body and the blood of this element, and they are strong to Electria, weak against Dustus.   Our last in the Cycle is Electria, still somewhat uncommon. However this is the art of shock and electricity. Ampere finds themselves compelled to pray 5 times a day to this Element, and they are strong against Frostia, while weak to Atomia.       ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things you should watch out for -The Return. No matter where you may be, this little cult will probably attack you. Don’t show any devotion to Elemental worship. Strange enough they use the elements, but consider them Dark Arts and keep their spell books under lock and key.   -The Celestian Order, the revered pioneers of many Elemental spells. If you’ve somehow upset these people and you aren’t dead yet, you have two options: Commit suicide there and then, or try to die in a blaze of glory. (Note OOC: Most Celestian Order members have +15 on a D20 roll to their chosen element. Just don’t do it.)   -Being in the tall grass. Trust me, wild things will pop out. Whether it be an adolescent dragon or six bandits, it’s dangerous to go alone.   -People trying to distract you. Although being caught stealing is punishable with finger removal, people steal anyhow, and get away with it often. People will try a variety of things to steal what you have, so keep your gold close.   -Prostitutes, of both sexes. While completely legal, they’re not very costly, which probably means they’re carrying something. If you’re going to do it, wrap it up with some linen or intestine condoms.   That sums that up. Use the rest of this page for your own notes. It could help someone else down the line.
