- >You open your eyes. You are alive. You have no idea why this surprises you.
- >You appear to be in a hospital. For some reason the hospital seems familiar to you, like you've been there before. You look on the nightstand and the wall next to the bed for a call button or speaker, or something to find out where you are.
- >The door opens, and a white pony with a pink mane and tail, with a cutie mark shaped a cross, wearing a nurse's hat trots in.
- >She looks at you, seemingly surprised. She smiles. “Wow, you're really hard to keep down. I'm Nurse Redheart.” She trots up to the bed you're in, looks at you.
- > “So, what's your name?”
- >You shrug. “I was hoping you could tell me that, to be honest.”
- >She shakes her head. “No, all I know is Twilight Sparkle was up, and saw a house falling from the sky, into the Everfree forest. She got some ponies together, and they went to go find the house. They pulled you out of the rubble. You...don't remember anything? Anything at all?” She looks slightly worried.
- >You close your eyes and focus on remembering things. You see short, nonsensical flashes of things that you don't understand. What you remember most however, is martial arts that seems very odd to you. The practitioners move in ways you can't see any pony being capable of.
- >You open your eyes. “Nothing I can make sense of.”
- >She nods. “Memory loss is common with trauma to the head, like you've suffered. Some memories may return....Although, it's possible you may have lost them all, forever.”
- >You nod in return. “Alright. So, when am I going to be discharged?”
- >She cocks her head. “Well, you're awake, and talking, and the injuries to the rest of your body aren't that severe. So, at the earliest, tomorrow. It's all up to the doctor, really.”
- >She trots back to the door, and then turns back. “Oh, right. I need something to put down on the papers for your name.”
- >You try to remember your name, but you draw a blank. You go with the first thing that comes to your mind. “Just call me Anon, If that's alright.”
- >She smiles. “Alright, Anon. I'll get a doctor, and we'll see when you can leave.” She trots out the door.
- >You decide to try to focus on remembering who you are until the doc gets here. You close your eyes, and think hard an restoring your memory.
- >You have not remember anything by the time the Doctor arrives. He checks your injuries. “I don't think your injuries were as bad as I first thought.” He smiles at you. “That's very good, not just for you, but for everyone.”
- > You look at him, slightly confused. “I don't follow.”
- >His eyes widen slightly. “I had assumed you'd been informed. The township is paying for your treatment. Everyone's donating a bit or two to make sure you get treatment. Since you won't need much, your treatment has already been paid for in full. In any case, I think we can discharge you right now.”
- >You get discharged. You get up out of the wheelchair, and fall flat on your face. You don't know how to move around. You realize that you should have anticipated this.
- >Nurse Redheart and the doctor come around and help you back onto the wheelchair. The doctor looks at you, and frowns. “Perhaps you're not ready to be discharged after all....”
- >You try getting up again, standing awkwardly. “No, I just...don't remember how to walk.” The doctor seems surprised. “That's unusual. I've never had a memory loss patient who was unable to walk right from the get-go...Then again, I haven't had many such patients, anyway.”
- >You try to walk, and succeed in moving slowly and awkwardly. It's unlikely that your large and seemingly unwieldy frame helps in this endeavor, either. In addition, your right hind leg hurts at the knee a bit, although it is tolerable.
- >After about an hour of practicing, you are able to walk almost normally, although you are still slightly clumsy about it. For some reason, walking with four legs seems very awkward to you, but you adapt.
- >The first thing you realize is that you need to find a job, and somewhere to stay, otherwise this is gonna SUCK. Being homeless in Equestria is probably better than being homeless elsewhere, but at the end of the day you'd still be a hobo. Not fun, no matter where you are.
- >You suppose the thing to do first is talk to Twilight Sparkle, and thank everyone who dragged you out of the rubble of that house. And find out where you can find a job, and lodging.
- >You then realize you don't actually know where she lives, or what she looks like, for that matter.
- >You decide to explore the town a bit. A few ponies ask you if you're new in town, and three in particular, named Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle are very curious about your cutie mark, or rather lack thereof. You tell them you don't know, and that you just woke up in the hospital with no memories, and no cutie mark. After you tell them this, they yell “Cutie Mark crusaders away!!” and gallop off.
- >Fillies these days.....All hyperactive and stuff.
- >You continue further into town, until you see something pink in the street. As you draw closer, you realize it's a head. A PONY'S HEAD. THERE IS A PONY'S HEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET.
- >”Hi!”
- >THE SEVERED HEAD OF A PONY JUST SAID HI TO YOU.
- >You look closer, and realize that the head is not severed, but is still attached to the body, which appears to be underground.
- > “Umm...Hi. What exactly are you doing...?”
- >She looks at you like it should be obvious. “Looking for cakes, of course.”
- >You look at her blankly, not quite sure what to think. “Why would there be cake in the ground...?”
- >She looks at you like you dumb. Really dumb. Fo' reals. “Because I put it there, of course!”
- > “Why would you put cake in the gr-”
- >She cuts you off. “IT'S TIME FOR YOUR PARTY!”
- >Wut?
- >She bursts out of the ground. She has a cake.
- > “What party?”
- >She beams at you. It's actually ever-so-slightly scary. “Why, your welcome-to-Ponyville/Release-from -the hospital party, of course!!”
- >You decide to head back the way you came, hoping you can get away without incident, as this pony is obviously insane.
- >No such luck.
- >”Where are you going, you silly filly? The paty's this way!”
- >She gets around in front of you, and herds you back the way she wants you to go.
- >Seems you don't have a choice in the matter.
- >You decide to simply follow her. After all, a party could be a good way to get to know some ponies, and maybe find work, since that's the most important thing at the moment, since work means money, and money means, food, housing, and almost everything else.
- >You arrive in front of a bakery.
- >She turns back to you. “Wait here.” She goes inside, puts down the cake, and comes out.
- >”I'll be right back.”, She says, and gallops past you.
- >5 minutes later, she's back. “Okay,”, she says, “I let everypony know.”
- >You don't know who “everypony” is, but she couldn't mean that many ponies, after all, it only took her 5 minutes.
- >Suddenly, ponies start arriving. SCADS of ponies. “How,”, you ask, “did you deliver the message to this many ponies in such a short time?”
- >She smiles. “It was easy. I went by their houses, and let them know. I already told them to be ready to party when you got out. I was gonna have the party in the hospital, but Nurse Redheart kicked me out.
- She also said I was banned from the hospital for being a disturbance. Can you believe it??”
- >You can believe it.
- >She leads you into the bakery, and up the stairs into the loft. The loft is bigger than you would have guessed. It's got enough room for dancing, food, what you guess are all of the pink mare's possessions, and a ton of ponies.
- >It's bigger on the inside.
- >You have no idea why, but thinking that grates on your mind immensely and gives you a headache.
- >More ponies arrive, and the pink mare introduces them to you, which is fairly ironic considering she still hasn't introduced HERSELF to you, seemingly having forgotten to do so.
- >Not that it matters, since everyone calls her Pinkie. The name fits. She's quite....pink.
- >The last in a long line of guests arrives. A purple unicorn mare with...a dragon?
- >You're so caught up on the dragon that you almost miss her name: Twilight Sparkle.
- > “So,”, You say, “You're the one who saw that house falling out of the sky.”
- >She smiles and nods. “Yes, I was up to do some stargazing, and while I was looking for a certain constellation, I saw a house falling out of the sky.” She looks at you quizzically. “So, was that your house, or were you just unfortunate enough to be where it landed?”
- >You think for a moment. “I'm afraid I don't remember.”, you say, “I don't remember anything before waking up in the hospital.”
- >She smiles. “I can probably fix that!!”
- >For some reason, you have a bad feeling about this. “How?”
- >Of course, before the words left her mouth, you knew what she was going to say: “Magic!”
- > “A bit of research, and I'll know exactly how to deal with your memory problems!”
- > “Alright,”, you say. “When?”
- >She stops, and looks up and to the left, thinking. “Tomorrow. You can meet me at my house. Which is the Library, by the way.”
- >You saw the library as you wandered the town earlier. “Alright, sounds good. Also, I was wondering, who else helped drag me back to the town?”
- >She looks over to a rainbow pony. “Rainbow Dash airlifted you back, along with two other ponies.” She looks you up and down. “You're pretty big. She had to get Derpy and Raindrops to help her. They're over there.” She looks over to a couple of ponies over by the pastries. “That's them, over there.”
- >You nod. “Thanks. Just wanted to know, so I could thank them.”
- >You decide you'll thank Rainbow Dash first.
- >You walk over to her. She's talking with some other ponies. She sounds a bit full of herself, but overall, a likeable pony. You wait until she's done talking with them. “Hi, I'm Anon. I just wanted to thank you for getting me to the hospital.”
- >She smirks, leans back on the wall, and crosses her legs. “If It had been any other pony, It would have taken five ponies to lift you, but y'know. I'm the strongest flier in all of Equestria.”
- >Okay, maybe a bit more than a bit full of herself....
- > “Well, thanks.” You say.
- >She smiles. “Well, If you need any more help, lemme know. After all, I'm always ready to help those in need. I'm a bit of a hero.”
- >You head over to Derpy and Raindrops.
- >You get the feeling the gray mare with the blonde mane and lazy eye is Derpy. You decide to thank her first.
- >You open your mouth to say “Hello.”, and she stuffs a muffin into your mouth. Banana Nut, and good, too. You eat the muffin, partly to clear your mouth so you can talk again, and partly because you like muffins.
- >As you finish eating the muffin, she beams at you. “Dontcha feel better now that you've had a muffin?”
- >Mmmm, banana nut.
- >You simultaneously swallow the muffin and nod.
- >You suddenly realize you don't even know how long it's been since you ate.
- > “To be honest, yeah. I just wanted to thank you for your part in airlifting me back to the hospital.”
- >She continues beaming. “Yeah, of course. It was my pleasure. You are pretty heavy, though.”
- >You turn to Raindrops. “You're Raindrops, right? Thanks.”
- >She nods. “Yeah, no problem.”
- >You decide to try to enjoy the party, and to eat some more food, since you are actually very hungry.
- >You dance with a couple mares, chat with some ponies, eat some more food, and generally have a lot of fun. After a while, the party starts to die down, and the guests start leaving.
- >Leaving.
- >You're going to have to leave sooner or later, too. And you have nowhere to go.
- >Hobo in Equestria, here we come.
- >A sharp looking brown stallion with an hourglass cutie mark walks up to you. “Say, you need a place to stay for the night, don't you? Of course you do, you just woke up in the hospital with no memories.”
- >He seems slightly odd, but trustworthy.
- > “Alright, sounds good.”, you say. After all, even if he seems a little weird, you don't have any other way to avoid being a hobo.
- >You follow him to his “home” out at the edge of town.
- >It's a tiny blue box.
- >He can't be serious........
- >He opens the door, and you see the inside of the box. It really IS bigger on the outside. You circle the outside of the box, trying to see if there's some sort of trick to it.
- >NOPE. You walk inside. The inside looks as majestic as the outside looks small. “How...how is this....like this?”
- >He looks at you like you're stupid. “Magic, of course.”
- >He looks at you with a very serious look on his face. “I just need you to agree to one thing.” You nod.
- > “I need you not to touch anything in here. Alright?”
- >You nod. “Of course, sir.”
- >He lightens up. “Alright then, wonderful. Any questions?”
- >You swallow. “Yeah, just one.”
- > “Well, lets hear it, then!”, he says, smiling.
- > “Who are you?”
- > “The Doctor.”, he says, without missing a beat.
- > “Doctor who?”
- > “Just, “The Doctor”, if you please. Or, Doctor Whooves, If you prefer it.”
- > “Alright, Doctor.”
- >You soon settle down to sleep.
