>Day 101 in ponyville

>You had just finished helping Derpy with her morning mail run

>Carrying the boxes for her was the least that you could do

>Currently you are sitting with Derpy at Sugarcube Corner eating muffins

>As she finishes her third muffin and heads to the counter to order another one your eye is caught on her cutie mark.

>Bubbles. Why would anyone have a bubble cutie mark.

>After a few minutes she walks back over and sits down

"Hey Derpy? I have been wondering what your cutie mark represents.

>She pauses with her new muffin only centimeters from her open mouth.

>Looking you in the eyes she sighs and quietly sets it on her plate.

>"Not all cutie marks are obvious. Some only mean things to the pony that gets them."

>She turns her eyes down to the muffin on her plate for a few seconds.

>Brushing some of her mane out of her face she continues

>"The only to way explain it is to tell you how I got it. It was my second week of flight school. I was with a group flying around an obstical course to build up our flight control. As I rounded a corner another pony who lost control accidentally kicked me as they flailed to stay on the course."

>She takes a long drink and pauses again before she continues.

>"It knocked me out. The next thing I knew I was sinking into a lake. I was dazed and not sure what happened. All of a sudden I noticed the bubbles floating to the surface. I saw them and knew if I didn't follow them I would die. I saw my friends and family mourning me reflected in their surface and I knew I could not let that happen. They gave me focus to drag myself to the surface. When I got to the top of the water the trainer was there to help me out, and I found out I had my cutie mark."

>Her cockeyed gaze settles on you once again.

>"My special talent is living. I see every day as something to celebrate. I take pleasure in everything even something as simple as bubbles."
