1. The Marvellous Mishaps of Anon and Chrysalis
2. Chapter 16: Back Down Under
3.
4. >Fall had come to the magical land of Equestria.
5. >You lean back in your comfy armchair. You had gotten a new one recently, though it wasn’t leather like you had wanted.
6. >You had ultimately realized that you’d need to speak to Clyde to get one of those.
7. >And the last thing you wanted to do was give Clyde incentive to snoop around your business.
8. >Luckily for you, there had been no letters from the Pie household since the agents had arrived.
9. >Inkie was quite surprised that her father was convinced by them.
10. >Or perhaps Clyde was fully aware and just didn’t care enough to do anything.
11. >Either way, your home remained more or less calm.
12. >Ditto had even begun to get along somewhat with Inkie. But only somewhat.
13. >It wasn’t really your business, nor your problem, so you didn’t bring it up around him.
14. >”Anon?”
15. >You look over to your living room’s door. Derpy is there with her usual mailbag.
16. >You figure she’s done the day’s route. Or perhaps she brought you a letter?
17.
18.  “Morning Derpy. What’s up?”
19. >”...I have a letter for you.”
20. >Her face is much more worried than you would expect. It’s just a letter, after all.
21. >She trots over to you, pulling out the letter. You take it quickly, looking for the sender.
22. >Sue Pie? Well at least it’s not Clyde...
23. >You open up the letter, Derpy nervously watching as you read.
24. >Everything went better than expected.
25. >Apparently Clyde did know that the changeling doubles were, well, doubles.
26. >However, their subterranean abilities made them useful miners and so he was willing to let it slide.
27. >Though he did expect the real Pie sisters to visit now and again.
28. >You make a note to come up with some excuses to not ride another train to Stone Falls.
29. >It’s not that you don’t like the city. It’s just, well, you don’t like the city.
30. >Too much gray, not enough... anything else.
31. >Derpy is still eyeing you curiously. Better put her fears to rest.
32. “Don’t worry Derpy, nothing bad has happened. You should probably get back to work.”
33.
34. >”Actually I uh... Have a few more letters.”
35. >She reaches into the bag, pulling out almost three dozen letters, all them being bills.
36. >Well that explains why you haven’t been getting them...
37. “...Derpy?”
38. >”Sorry! We had them in the back and forgot to send them out!”
39. >Great. You half expected a royal guard to burst through your windows to arrest you for tax evasion.
40. >Luckily, no such event occurred.
41. “Well, thanks I guess. Better late than never.”
42. >She nods, galloping away to deliver the rest of the town’s mail.
43. >Considering how full her bag is, you doubt you’re the only one who hasn’t been getting their bills.
44. >Oh well. It’s not like anyone enjoys receiving bills, after all.
45. >You lean back into your seat, going through all the letters now scattered on your lap.
46. >As is expected, they are pretty much all bills. All except one.
47. >You aren’t exactly sure why, but Prince Blueblood’s estate is now mailing you.
48. >Definitely saving that for later. It might hold a laugh or two.
49.
50. >Meanwhile, on the other side of Ponyville...
51. >Twilight Sparkle was doing one of the things she did best: reading!
52. >She always enjoyed a good book or fifty. But today she was having trouble finding out what she wanted.
53. >As it turned out, the Ponyville library had next to nothing on changelings.
54. >Twilight had even had some of Canterlot’s books sent over, but they were very brief and unhelpful.
55. >The mare groans in frustration, completely uncertain of what to do.
56. >That’s when an idea strikes her. Why not just ask Celestia herself?
57. >After all, she’s over a thousand years old. She would undoubtedly know about changelings!
58. >Using her magic, she floats a quill, some ink and some paper over to herself and begins to write.
59. >Satisfied with her work, she looks about for her scaly assistant.
60. >That’s when she remembers that Spike is with Rarity. “Of course...”
61. >She sighs and heads off to see her fashion centric friend.
62. >It had been awhile since the two of them did anything anyhow. May as well be now.
63.
64. >Meanwhile, at Carousel Boutique...
65. >Rarity smiled, pleased with her newest creation.
66. >Chrysalis, however, was not so certain her new outfit was all that great.
67. >”Rarity, do I really need all this poofy frills? It seems a bit excessive.”
68. >”Nonsense darling, you look smashing! Isn’t that right Spike?”
69. >Spike, who too was busy marvelling at the beauty of Rarity to pay any attention to Chrysalis’ outfit, nods quickly.
70. >Chrysalis rolls her eyes at his ignorance. “Well, I suppose you can never have too many outfits...”
71. >Rarity smiles proudly. “Of course not darling!”
72. >Rarity’s horn begins to glow, her magic aiding the queen in removing the poofy outfit.
73. >A soft jingle rings out, alerting the group that another customer has arrived.
74. >”Excuse me, dears, I need to get that. Help her pack up, alright Spike?”
75. >”Sure thing Rarity.”
76. >Chrysalis bops Spike on his head, getting his focus.
77. >One look from the irritated queen was enough to get Spike back to work.
78. >Chrysalis takes a seat on a nearby cushion, smiling to herself.
79. >”It’s good to be the queen...”
80.
81. >Twilight Sparkle smiles as she spots her friend. “Hi Rarity!”
82. >”Oh, hello Twilight. I take it you’re here for Spike?
83. >”Well, I guess. You can keep him for longer if you still need him. I just need him to send a letter.”
84. >”Ah.” Rarity gestures for Twilight to follow her, leading her back into Rarity’s fitting room.
85. >Twilight frowns as she spots the changeling queen, still not all that fond of her.
86. >She’d usually just ignore her antics, focusing more on her actual friend, Anonymous.
87. >Not like she had a choice here though. Anon was far, far away.
88. >Chrysalis glances over at Twilight, but doesn’t acknowledge her otherwise.
89. >”Oh hey Twilight.” Spike frowns when he sees the wrapped up letter in Twilight’s bags. “...You couldn’t have just waited for me to get back?”
90. >”It’s urgent Spike. I need to find out all I can about changelings and Celestia is the best mare to ask.”
91. >Chrysalis clears her throat, “Um, no, she’s not. I am.”
92. >The duo look at her sceptically, uncertain of her statements validity.
93. >”...I AM a changeling. I know everything about us! Come on!”
94.
95. >Twilight instinctively backs away from the now standing queen. ”I think it’d be better to just ask Celestia about it, Chrysalis...”
96. >”Sure, if you want a mouthful of propaganda! I am the queen of the changelings! What do you want to know?”
97. >She smiles uneasily, “Well... everything.”
98. >Spike groans, “This is gonna take awhile, isn’t it.”
99. >”Yes darling, I think it will...”
100. >Chrysalis sighs, “How about we do this somewhere else? Your friends are clearly not in the mood for an info dump.”
101. >”Yeah... Good idea. Uh... You lead the way?”
102. >”But of course.”
103. >And so the pair of mares left Rarity and Spike to their devices, moving to a better location to talk.
104. >Unfortunately, that location was your couch.
105. >You had tried to tune them out at first, but it proved impossible. They just kept going and going and going...
106. >”Chrysalis, still, why do you bother living underground if there’s no longer any threat on the surface?”
107. >”Do you have any idea how hard it would be to move our entire population topside? Besides, half of them can’t even look at the sun without getting sick. It’s not worth it.”
108.
109. >”How is it not worth it? You can’t grow food underground!”
110. >”We eat emotions? We don’t need to grow food.”
111. >”But if you grow your own food you won’t have to rely on other races to ensure your survival.”
112. >”It’s not like it’s an active thing. We just have to be nearby to do it.”
113. >”Technically that’s theft then. You aren’t asking for permission.”
114. >”But you don’t use emotional energy for anything! We’re just taking it off of you, like a garbage col-“
115. “Look, can you do this somewhere else? I’m trying to watch some TV.”
116. >Chrysalis glares at you, her face much angrier than you’d expect from such a simple comment.
117. >”I don’t care Anon, I’m teaching Twilight here about Equestria’s greatest race!”
118. >”Now hold on a second, how are changelings the greatest race in Equestria? I can think of a bunch of better ones...”
119. >Chrysalis can’t even express her fury at Twilight’s statement. “Name one. I dare you.”
120. “...Look, if you’re going to have a magic duel, at least do it somewhere else? This TV is new.”
121.
122. >”Shut up Anonymous! She has insulted the honour of the changelings, and as their Queen, I must make her pay!”
123. >”...Anonymous, what’s up with Chrysalis anyway? She seems... angrier than usual.”
124. “It probably has to do with you badmouthing her people, Twilight. Apologize.”
125. >Twilight shakes her head, giving Chrysalis a half-hearted apology.
126. >”Hmph. That will do. For now.”
127. >Chrysalis looks away from her, her temper cooling somewhat. Twilight was right though, Chrysalis was being far more aggressive than usual.
128. >It had started up a week ago, with her reactions to mundane things being overblown and otherwise ridiculous.
129. >Your monologuing is interrupted by your door opening up.
130. >There were only three ponies on this blue ball of dirt that you entrusted one of your house keys too. Rainbow Dash, Ditto and Derpy.
131. >Luckily, Derpy hadn’t lost it yet. That would be messy.
132. >In came number 2 on your list, Ditto. Behind him was, as expected, the three Pie sisters.
133. >”Greetings Anonymous! Twilight! Your Majesty!
134.
135. >”Oh hi Ditto. Having fun with your mares, I see.”
136. >”W-What? No! Nothing like that occurred!”
137. >Chrysalis looks away, her face almost hurt. “Whatever.”
138. >The trio of mares glance toward you. Your response is to, as always, shrug.
139. >Pinkie shakes her head, “Well, anyhow! Hiya! What’s going on everyp0ny?”
140. >Twilight seems eager to tell. Great. “I’m learning about changelings from Chrysalis here! There’s so much we ponies don’t know, so I’m going to compile everything into a book for later use!”
141. >Her magic floats up her quill and notepad to accentuate her point.
142. >”I see. A noble activity. How about you, Anonymous?”
143. >You shrug again. You doubt ‘having to listen to this bullshit’ is much of a valid activity.
144. >”Well that’s silly Anon! You gotta do something! Come on girls, let’s find something for Anon to do!”
145. >Inkie grunts, “Not much use searching. Chrysalis is right over there.”
146. >Both mentioned parties choke at Inkie’s statement.
147. >Chrysalis steals a glance at you, blushing much brighter than usual.
148. “Don’t be an ass Inkie. You know what she meant.”
149. >Twilight gives you a dirty look for your use of ‘racial slurs’ but doesn’t comment. It was a fool’s errand.
150.
151. >”Well, anyhow, Chrysalis and I were arguing about why changelings should live underground when it’s much nicer topside.”
152. >”This again? Twilight, step off it. I’m not moving the probably millions of changelings up to the surface just because you want me too.”
153. >”I really doubt you can sustain that many changelings so far underground. It’s impossible.”
154. >Ditto feels the need to interject. “Actually, emotional energy isn’t inhibited by rock and soil, allowing us to survive easily as long as we’re in range of large enough settlements.”
155. >Twilight blinks, considering his words. “Huh. I didn’t know that.”
156. >”Of course /you/ didn’t, Twilight! You aren’t a changeling!”
157. >Twilight glares at the queen, “If you’re so confident that changelings are better, why don’t you rule Equestria?”
158. >”Because then I’d have to deal with ignorant ponies like you!”
159. >The pair continue to glare at each other. Luckily, Twilight was not one to start fights. You would prefer your house not being ripped apart by magic missiles.
160. >”Uh... Girls? Isn’t there supposed to be a changeling hive near here? Why not visit and decide for yourselves?”
161. >Your group all turns the comment’s owner, Blinkie.
162.
163. >She shrinks away from all the looks she receives.
164. >”I-I’m just trying to help...”
165. >Twilight and Chrysalis both ponder her suggestion.
166. >Twilight is the first to speak, “I think that could work. We could go to a hive and you could show me how everything works down under.”
167. >She smiles, excited. “Yes! This is a perfect idea!”
168. >”You realize I haven’t agreed to it, don’t you? Going to a hive is a bad idea right now.”
169. >Twilight gives her a confused look. “What? Why?”
170. >Chrysalis looks away from her, “Nothing you need to worry about. We can visit later.”
171. >”But why not just go now?”
172. >Pinkie sighs, “Chrys, her mind’s set on going. She won’t be able to do anything until she does!”
173. >You shudder, recalling Twilight’s earlier obsessions.
174. “She’s right. I’ve seen it from experience.”
175. >Chrysalis rolls her eyes. “Hmph. Ditto, get me one of those contract templates.”
176. >”Right away.”
177. >Twilight raises an eyebrow, “Hm? Why do you need one of those?”
178. >Chrysalis doesn’t give her an answer.
179.
180. >Ditto returns a few minutes later with a bunch of contract templates.
181. >Chrysalis quickly fills in various sections, then magically passes them to every mare in the room.
182. >”Sign these.”
183. >Inkie begins to read over the document. Blinkie glances over it before signing with a quill supplied by Ditto.
184. >Pinkie herself signs it immediately. She doesn’t even read it.
185. >Twilight notices this, “Pinkie, didn’t you read the contract? Chrysalis might be trying to trick us.”
186. >”Like I’d need that much effort to trick /you./ Ha!”
187. “Shut up Chrysalis.”
188. >”No, you shut up Anonymous! No one asked for your input!”
189. >You give her your best ‘what are you on’ face.
190. “What’s up with you Chrysalis? You aren’t usually so... bitchy.”
191. >”I have no idea what you are babbling about! Nothing is wrong with me.”
192. >Before you can give your brilliant rebuttal, there’s a tug on your shirt. You look to its source: Ditto.
193. >”Anonymous, I will explain later. Please don’t agitate her.”
194. “...Fine.”
195. >A bit later, all the contracts were signed and safely in the possession of Chrysalis.
196. >”Come here tomorrow. 9am. Sharp. If you’re late, we leave without you.”
197. >She looks over at the Pie sisters. “Ditto is coming with me. Therefore, you are too.”
198.
199. >You sat in your bedroom, doing a bit of casual reading before you went to bed.
200. >It’s a shame most of Equestria’s books are so boring.
201. >You could barely even focus on this Daring Do book.
202. >Everything you read was forgotten by the time you reached another sentence.
203. >At least it was light on the description. Purple prose is no friend of yours.
204. >There’s a knocking on the door.
205. “Come in.”
206. >Your door opens up slowly, Ditto trotting inside. His magic closes the door behind him.
207. >”Greetings Anonymous.”
208. “Hey Ditto, what’s up?”
209. >”I am here to... enlighten you to Chrysalis’... problem.”
210. >He approaches you, coming to a stop near your nightstand.
211. “Alright, shoot. What’s got her panties in a bunch?
212. >”...Her majesty is in heat.”
213. >He pauses, letting his words sink in.
214. >Well, that wasn’t exactly what you expected, but it did make a lot of sense. She was clearly hormonal as fuck.
215. “I see. So... Queens go into heat in the fall then? That’s... interesting I guess.”
216. >”Not just our nobility. All changelings go into heat during the fall.”
217.
218. >All of them? Oh great. Just great.
219. >You expected a few days in Epsilon Hive to be annoying as fuck, what with Chrysalis’ bitching, Inkie’s plotting and Twilight’s OCD.
220. >But you sure as hell did not expect to be walking into a town of horny mares. No siree.
221. >Ponyville was bad enough in spring. You knew from experience that you were screwed.
222. >Well, perhaps not. Fluttershy and Applejack wouldn’t be anywhere in town.
223. >In fact, the only pony who would even try hitting on you was Chrysalis, and with Twilight around to cockblock her...
224. >Perhaps everything would work out in the end. Perhaps, just maybe, you’d survive unrustled.
225. >Wait. All changelings?
226. “...Ditto, are you in heat?”
227. >He blushes for whatever reason, shaking his head. “No! Of course not! Colts do not go into heat!”
228. “Hm. Alright. Had to make sure. You ponies have some crazy biology.”
229. >You sit there in silence, both waiting for the other to continue the discussion.
230. >Ditto isn’t saying anything, forcing you to get things back on track.
231.
232. “So, Ditto, what does this mean for you and I? Will mares be throwing themselves at us?”
233. >Ditto holds up one of his legs, the wedding bracelet still stuck on him.
234. >”This will keep them away from me.”
235. “Yes, what about me though?”
236. >”You are friends with Queen Chrysalis. Perhaps you should act like a bit more?”
237. >You gulp. This was your best shot at avoiding unwanted marehoods.
238. >You’d just have to keep hers at bay as well. Tomorrow would be a fun day indeed...
239. >The Next Day...
240. >You got up earlier than usual, hoping to catch Chrysalis and inform her of your glorious plan.
241. >Morning routine out of the way, you knock on Chrysalis’ bedroom door.
242. >You hear a bit of shuffling before the door opens up.
243. >”Anonymous? What is it?”
244. “I need a favour. Think you can handle it?”
245. >Her room is fairly dark, making it difficult to make her out on her bed.
246. >”...What do you want this time?”
247. “...I need to pose as your uh... coltfriend while we’re in Epsilon Hive. Alright?”
248.
249. >Her eyes go wide.
250. >”Y-You want to... Hrm. I see. Very well. Yes. Sure.”
251. “You okay Chrysalis?”
252. >”Go away Anonymous, I need to get ready. I said go!”
253. >A magical force pushes you back, her door closing right behind. You can make out a muffled yell of joy.
254. >...Something tells you she’s not taking this the right way. Oh well, too late now.
255. >You head downstairs, greeting Derpy, Dinky and Ditto. It just occurred to you that your home has three ponies whose names start with D.
256. >You figure it’ll be fine as long as Ditto doesn’t turn into a penguin with a sledgehammer. That would be... Weird.
257. >Very, very weird.
258. >You snatch up some muffins, sitting in your armchair while you wait for the others to arrive.
259. >All four of them are right on schedule. Chrysalis, however, is late.
260. >Typical royalty. Can’t do anything right.
261. >She arrives eventually, though, smiling ear to ear. “Ready to go?”
262. >You all nod, saying a last goodbye to Derpy before heading down to the tunnels below.
263. >...It was really a shame how long the walk to Epsilon was. Hopefully you’d catch a cart on your way over. (You wouldn’t.)
264.
265. >Derpy smiled, sitting back in your fantastic armchair.
266. >Her pal and landlord, Anonymous, was off in the tunnels.
267. >Her little muffin, Dinky, was at school.
268. >And thanks to the mayor finally getting another pony to deliver mail, she had a day off.
269. >She sat, watching some shows on TV. She quickly grew tired.
270. >She swapped positions and channels a few times before ending up in Chrysalis’ usual seat.
271. >”Huh? What’s that smell?”
272. >The mare sniffed at the air before focusing on the couch she was sitting on.
273. >Derpy grimaces when she realized what the smell is. It grows worse when she finds the source: a wet spot on the couch.
274. >”...Guess I better clean this off...”
275. >Derpy went to fetch the entire house’s cleaning supplies.
276. >The disgusting mess would fall before the might of her dozen brands of soap. None would stand before her.
277. >Unfortunately for Anonymous, most of his home would soon find itself in a sudsy predicament.
278. >Derpy sighs, surveying the mess. “Oh man... How did this happen?”
279. >She was dumbfounded. How could Derpy have made a mess out of things meant to clean?
280. >Safe to say, she had no idea what went wrong.
281.
282. >A few hours later, your group had made its way into the main transit tunnel.
283. >It had been a fairly silent trip, with the only interesting events occurring back at that little outpost.
284. >Unlike the Equestrian army, the Changeling military had both mares and stallions.
285. >Safe to say, the mare in charge had seen better days.
286. >She was still able to point you in the right direction, though, and here you were.
287. >”Alright, now Epsilon Hive is just down this way.” Chrysalis points down the tunnel in question to make her point.
288. >Twilight nods, “Alright, lead the way then.”
289. >And so she did, taking you down the mostly empty tunnel.
290. >The last time you were in the tunnels they were full of various carts and wagons.
291. >Now, there was nothing. You figure the mating season is responsible for this.
292. >And so, instead of hitching a ride on a cart like you would prefer, you walked down the empty tunnel.
293. >It was right about then when Pinkie Pie started chatting about various things.
294. >You, Chrysalis and Inkie all groan in frustration. Her voice was echoing down the road.
295. >Epsilon Hive would definitely know something was coming. They’d never know what hit them.
296.
297. >Not much had changed in Epsilon Hive since you last saw it.
298. >Perhaps a few new tunnels with homes for changelings, but otherwise everything was the same.
299. >Twilight and the Pies, however, were new to this environment, and took some time to gaze in wonder at the underground complex before them.
300. >Even the pessimistic Inkie was somewhat impressed. “...Wow. Not bad.”
301. >Twilight shook her head in disbelief, “How did you carve out so much rock?”
302. >”We changelings have excellent mining corps! They can pierce through any amount of stone!”
303. “Uh, Chrys? Didn’t you say this was just a cave you had expanded and repurposed?”
304. >She jabs you in the side quickly, “Shut up.” You crumple over, holding your poor kidneys.
305. >You give her an angry look, causing her to flinch.
306. >Twilight doesn’t pay your suffering any mind, insteading saying, “Still, that must have been a lot of work! Just how old is this place?”
307. >Ditto ponders this. “Quite old, I would say. We’ve had this Hive here to watch Equestria for generations.”
308.
309. >Pinkie frowns, “Just how long have you guys been planning to sabotage the wedding?”
310. >Chrysalis doesn’t make eye contact with Pinkie, instead choosing to help you back up. That shit really hurt.
311. >Ditto again takes the helm. “A long time. A very, very long time.”
312. >They nod, taking his word for it.
313. “Well then... So uh, shall we head to your ‘palace’ and settle down?”
314. >”I suppose we should. Follow me, everyp0ny.”
315. >Chrysalis heads off down a pathway, soon bringing your group to her palace in Epsilon.
316. >You note just how empty this place is. Well, it could be worse.
317. >It could be full to bursting with horny changelings rutting like mad.
318. >Soon enough you arrive at the hive’s royal palace.
319. >Chrysalis again comments that her palace in Alpha Hive was much better. That was yet to be seen.
320. >However, you did notice that the palace had gotten an upgrade.
321. >The offshoot hallway now held many additional rooms.
322. >You wonder what changes the upstairs might have gotten.
323. >”Alright, Ditto, fetch them some food. I will set up a proper tour and then we can get started.”
324.
325. >Chrysalis winks at you before heading out.
326. >Ditto, as his queen commanded, takes the mares off to obtain some food.
327. >You had a large breakfast, and thus stayed behind. You figure you’ll take a look about while you have the chance.
328. >Heading upstairs, you discover that instead of immediately being at Chrysalis’ room, you are in another hallway.
329. >This one has three doors. Walking down the passage, you inspect each one.
330. >One has Chrysalis’ royal seal on it, so you figure that’s her room.
331. >The door is unlocked, allowing you to enter with ease.
332. >Like it was originally, there’s only one bed. From the looks of it though, they’ve added a bathroom or something.
333. >You inspect the furniture. Everything is either new or newly finished.
334. >You take a look at yourself in the mirror. You look pretty strange in the green light.
335. >Shrugging, you turn to the doorway, intending on heading back down to your friends.
336. >However, a fairly tall changeling stood in the doorway. He seemed... well.
337. >It was like what you figured a male Chrysalis would look like. Tall, slender, and feminine.
338. >”...What do you think you’re doing in here?”
339.
340. “Uh... Nothing really. Do I know you?”
341. >”Hmph. Probably not. Get out of this room; this is not for you.”
342. >Not one to argue with the man, you comply, heading into the hallway with the stallion.
343. >”Now, who and what are you supposed to be, and more importantly, why are you here?”
344. “I’m Anon, I’m a human, and I’m here with Chrysalis.”
345. >The being raises an eyebrow at this, “Really now? And where is her majesty?”
346. “Somewhere in the town, setting up a tour I think. Why do you ask?”
347. >He rolls his eyes and walks past you, moving toward the stairs.
348. >As he begins to descend, you feel a tug of magic pull you toward the staircase.
349. >Guess he wants you to come with him. You quickly head back, keeping up with the stranger.
350. >Downstairs was Ditto, his wives and Twilight. They had somehow obtained some fruit.
351. >They were not fruit you had seen before. For one, they were blue.
352. >If you had to guess, you’d say they were eating blue mangos. You push past this however, focusing on the conversation that had begun.
353. >The stallion approached the commander, “Commander Ditto? Who are these beings?”
354.
355. >”Friends of her majesty, Chancellor. Do not worry about them.”
356. >He grunts, not entirely certain. Thankfully, he doesn’t say anything else.
357. >Instead, he magically hovers one of the extra fruits off of a basket on Pinkie’s back.
358. >You snatch the fruit out of the air in front of him.
359. “Thanks, Chancellor... Whatever your name is.”
360. >Your breakfast hadn’t actually been that big. You could still go for a fruit.
361. >”...Don’t test me, creature. It will be your last mistake.”
362. >You loitered about in mild silence, conversation occasionally cropping up between the various ponies.
363. >In this time, you learned that the Chancellor, Permanence, was apparently now the guy running Epsilon Hive. You liked the other guy better.
364. >You already didn’t like him. His head was so far up his ass you were surprised you could even hear him.
365. >At least he kept his distance. You would probably end up punching him if he stayed around too long.
366. >True to her word, Chrysalis soon returned to the palace.
367. >The Chancellor was first to get to her, burying her in dozens of questions.
368.
369. >”Go away Permanence, I don’t have time for you.”
370. >He took a good deal of offense to her statement, huffing before trotting away.
371. >He mutters something under his breath as his ascends the staircase. You turn to Chrysalis.
372. “Everything all planned then?”
373. >”Well... There’s not as much to show as I’d hope, but this /is/ an outer hive. It will have to do.”
374. >Twilight was still excited, “Well, show the way then!”
375. >Inkie groaned, not bothering to get up. “Guess we’re coming too?”
376. >Chrysalis glances over to Ditto, who turns his head. “Will you require my presence?”
377. >”No, I suppose not.” She gives Inkie a cold glare, “It’s probably better if you don’t, actually. She annoys me.”
378. >”Love you too, Chrys.”
379. >Inkie turns to her sisters, discussing what they should get too.
380. >Not really interested in what lewd discussion they were having, you turn back to the changeling queen.
381. ”Well, lead the way?”
382. >Twilight gallops off outside, ready to see the sights.
383. >Chrysalis pulls you in closer than you’d like with her magic.
384. >”Let’s have some fun, yes?”
385.
386. >After breaking Chrysalis’ magic grip, she takes you outside of the palace.
387. >Twilight is waiting excitedly. She’s magically floating a notepad and quill to write various notes in front of her.
388. >”Now then. Follow me.”
389. >Chrysalis heads off, you and Twilight following right behind.
390. >It’s a fairly long walk before you get to anything interesting. Using the extra time, you glance off down the numerous tunnels, pathways and structures that litter the cave.
391. >You manage to spot a few changelings far off in a residential area.
392. >Unfortunately you can’t make out what they’re doing from here. Something tells me that you’ll find out soon enough.
393. >Chrysalis stops your group about ten minutes later. Twilight’s excitement hasn’t waned in the slightest.
394. >”This here, is our central market district. Just like your silly surface towns, this is where all markets and what-have-you are located.”
395. >Twilight nods, scribbling some notes.
396. “So, Chrys, what makes your markets any different from the surface ones?”
397. >”I’m glad you asked.” She grins, heading deeper into the market square.
398.
399. >To her frustration, most of the market’s various stores are closed.
400. >Eventually she finds some sort of magic shop, ushering you inside.
401. >”Now, while maybe your large cities have shops like these, all changeling hives are fully equipped with appropriate magical facilities.”
402. >She gestures at the numerous goods inside. Books, gems, and what appeared to be alchemical tools littered the building.
403. >The shopkeeper, a changeling of unknown gender, justifiably sweats nervously. “W-Welcome!”
404. >It clearly wasn’t every day that the queen visited his store.
405. >”You! Show them your wares! Now!”
406. >The shopkeep nods quickly, buzzing over to you. For some reason he’s breathing with his mouth, not his nose.
407. >He leads you to a selection of books and other things, which detail how to cast various spells.
408. >Twilight takes much interest with this, though since you can’t actually cast magic you aren’t all that interested.
409. >Chrysalis takes note of this, pulling you over to her.
410. >”Why don’t we do something else?”
411. “...Like what?”
412. >She responds by magically pulling you outside. Oh boy, here we go...
413.
414. >The market square is a much more populated than the random passages.
415. >There are maybe fifteen changelings doing various things. From the looks of it, they’re mostly mares.
416. >How do you know this? Easy!
417. >For one, they all are making Chrysalis look like a zen monk.
418. >And then there’s that musky smell in the air near them. It was even stronger than the one ponies made back in Ponyville. Not a good sign.
419. >One of them approaches the two of you, “Hello your majesty! Welcome back! Who’s this?”
420. >She grins, pulling you over with a hoof. “Just my new consort. Why do you ask?”
421. >The mare smiles, with just the slightest hint of disappointment. “C-Congratulations!”
422. >She buzzes away to a group of mares. They quickly gain disappointed looks.
423. “Uh... Thanks for the save?”
424. >”Don’t worry about it, dear. Just protecting my property.” She winks at you seductively.
425. >You can sense a rustling in the force.
426. “...Right. Well, what’s next after this magic shop?”
427. >She sighs, “Well, Epsilon Hive isn’t exactly the most interesting place ever. I suppose maybe the fort or the mining base. I’ll think of something.”
428.
429. “Well, Twilight at least looks happy.”
430. >”Hopefully that book of hers does my people some justice. We changelings have been mocked for far too long.”
431. “I’m sure it’ll be fine. Maybe.”
432. >You honestly weren’t positive of how well Twilight could write. A letter to Celestia, sure, but a whole book?
433. >Speaking of Twilight, she appeared to be done with the magic store. She even had a new book.
434. >”...Where’d you get that?”
435. >”Oh this? He said I could have it! I can’t wait to read this!”
436. >Typical Twilight. Chrysalis rolls her eyes, “Right. Anyhow, let’s continue...”
437. >She takes you out of the market square, but the group of mares from before seems to be following your trio.
438. >You doubt they’ll do anything with Chrysalis nearby, but it unnerves you regardless.
439. >Chrysalis takes you down a residential tunnel, talking about how building into the walls saves resources for other structures.
440. >She drones on a fair bit, ranting about how much better changeling architecture is. You don’t really pay much attention.
441. >Instead, your eyes wander to the growing troop of changelings following your group.
442.
443. >The queen stops in front of a fortified tunnel in the northern half of the city.
444. >”Down this way is the local change marine base. All our hives have at least one of them.”
445. >Twilight frowns, “Huh. Was that Boreale guy a change marine?”
446. >She glances over to her, intrigued. “Er, yes. How do you know about him?”
447. >”He made quite the splash in Ponyville awhile back. Can’t say he’s exactly the nicest fellow.”
448. “He’s definitely a loud one, that’s for sure.”
449. >Chrysalis glares at you, “Shut up, Anonymous.” She turns back to Twilight. “Anyhow, our change marines are pretty much our elite guard. They protect our cities from various dangers.”
450. >”Dangers? Like?”
451. >She groans, “I suppose I’m going to have to list all of them, won’t I?”
452. >And so she does. It takes almost half an hour to list the many threats to the changeling hives.
453. >Twilight blinks, shocked. “Wow uh... You guys have a lot of threats.”
454. >”And we survive despite it. You ponies become weak thanks to your silly houses.”
455. >She starts ranting on about how things were better way back when. It takes a bit of time to get her back on track.
456.
457. >Deciding to not visit the base itself, Chrysalis leads you to another construct.
458. >There are a number of stallions here, working machinery and other devices. You can even see a blast forge off in the distance.
459. >”Now this, my little pony, is the heart of our economy! Behold!”
460. >Twilight looks around the massive forge. The stallions working the place keep their distance from her, likely assuming she’s just as horny as the mares piled up outside.
461. >”Here we process all the metals we mine, as well as process said metals into goods.”
462. >Twilight nods, having a good amount of knowledge on metallurgy already. She does read 24/7, after all.
463. >You head off, Chrysalis magically parting the crowd of maybe forty mares.
464. >You’re surprised they don’t just charge into the forge to take the stallions by force.
465. >Twilight however, seems to be catching on. “Uh, Chrysalis? Why are all these mares following us?”
466. >”They aren’t following us. They’re following Anon.”
467. >”What? Why?”
468. >She doesn’t respond, instead continuing down another passage.
469. >She halts at a big corridor. “This is one of our main roads. This one will eventually lead to another hive.”
470. >Twilight nods, “How many hives are there?”
471. >Chrysalis shrugs. “A lot.”
472.
473. >The tour went on for another hour.
474. >On your way back, the mob of mares behind you had finally begun to disassemble.
475. >The mares went off on their ways, doing whatever it was they were doing before.
476. >A few feet from the palace entrance though, there was a problem.
477. >A tomboyish changeling mare stood at the door, not keen on letting you pass.
478. >Chrysalis growls at her, “What do you think you’re doing? Move!”
479. >”No way! You can’t hog him all for yourself! Share!”
480. >Well over half the mob backed away. The ones who stayed seemed to share her thoughts at least partially.
481. >”How about no? He’s mine, and mine alone! Don’t make me get the marines.”
482. >She chuckles, “Those brutes? Like they could keep up with me!”
483. >Twilight looks to you nervously. “Anon? What’s going on?”
484. “Changeling estrus. These things happen.”
485. >The mare snorts, “Something tells me that you’re just saying he’s yours, Princess. Last time I saw him, he wasn’t interested in changelings!”
486. >Chrysalis grits her teeth, her eyes wandering to you.
487. “...Do I know you?”
488. >The mare gapes in disbelief. “How could you forget me? I’m the swarm’s fastest changeling, Poly!”
489. >Oh. Right. That definitely explained nothing at all.
490.
491. >She shakes her head, “Yeah, well, anyhow, my point stands! You’re lying to us!”
492. >”How dare you! I’m your queen! You will do as I say!”
493. >Poly turns to you, “Hey, Amon! If you’re really Chrysies’ boy, why don’t you prove it?”
494. >You open your mouth to correct her on the pronunciation of your name, but Chrysalis’ magic shuts your trap before a single note leaves it.
495. >”Don’t answer that, Anonymous. She’s just trying to provoke you. Now then...”
496. >She takes in a deep breath. Instinctively your hands fly to your ears to guard against the pending verbal assault.
497. >”DITTO! HERE! NOW!”
498. >Ditto arrived, right behind Poly in about four or so seconds. He was probably already en route.
499. >”Dispose of this whelp! I have things to do!”
500. >Poly immediately buzzes away, Ditto in hot pursuit. Now if only he had a police siren strapped to his helmet.
501. >Chrysalis groans, about to head off to her palace to de-stress.
502. >A magically tug on her tail interrupts her. She furiously turns to look at the soon to be deceased changeling that dared pester her further.
503. >”...Um... Your majesty, is it true?”
504.
505. >”Who cares if it’s true? You can’t have him! Get over it and leave me alone!”
506. >She turns, stomping into the palace. You can hear her yell out in frustration as she gets inside.
507. >That left you and Twilight. Outside. With a mob of horny mares. They gaze longingly at you.
508. “Ladies... Let’s be civilized. I’m n-“
509. >”Anon, I think we should probably run. Now.”
510. >Twilight was right. Mares can’t be negotiated with. Not like this.
511. >You dash toward the palace, the swarm in hot pursuit.
512. >Looking desperately for a way to close the entrance, your answers comes when the doorway closes itself magically.
513. >You turn around, spotting Chancellor Permanence. He shakes his head.
514. >”Really? Bringing every mare in town to my doorstep?”
515. “What can I say? The mares dig me.”
516. >You let out an uneasy laugh. Twilight smiles nervously at the tall creature.
517. >”Ugh. I don’t have time for this...”
518. >He storms off upstairs, likely to go do... something bureaucratic.
519. >You yawn, tired from all the walking and other crap you had gone through today.
520.
521. >You look about, eventually finding Pinkie, Inkie and Blinkie sitting about in a dining room.
522. >They’re playing spin the bottle for some reason.
523. >Pinkie perks up as you enter. The bottle stops spinning, pointing right at you.
524. >Blinkie flushes, not expecting to roll you of all people.
525. >Inkie chuckles “Pucker up, Anon.”
526. >You groan and head out. You weren’t doing that shit today. You had spun enough bottles for one lifetime.
527. >That night, you reclined in the big comfy bed that took up most of Chrysalis’ room.
528. >Chrysalis had been nice enough to offer you her bed to make up for all the bullshit that had gone on earlier. You were happy to comply.
529. >You were absolutely confident that this bed was the most valuable single object in the entire hive.
530. >Chrysalis had gone as far to not mention that her bed in alpha hive was much better.
531. >Either way, you were sure you could get a great night’s sleep here. You were even considering having Chrysalis get two more for your own home.
532. >A knock at the door broke your concentration.

”Come in.”
533.
534. >Chrysalis, mighty queen of the changelings, slowly walks into your room.
535. “Oh, hey Chrys. What’s up?”
536. >She looks away from you, “Hrm. A few things.”
537. >She slowly trots to your bed, hopping onto its covers with you.
538. >”Anonymous, as you already know, we changelings are in heat.”
539. >You nod. “And when we go into heat, thoughts of... sex tend to override most others.”
540. >Again, you nod. Chrysalis smiles nervously.
541. >”You know, I didn’t think all the hive’s mares would be all after you like that. Sure, you’re attractive and all, but you’re not a changeling.”
542. “Yes. I’m not. And that’s why I’m not receptive to their actions.”
543. >She looks away, nodding. She shifts onto her back, lying beside you.
544. >”...Right. Well... I need to uh... Ask a favour of you. A big one.”
545. >You pale, definitely knowing where she’s going with this. You aren’t /that/ stupid.
546. “No, Chrysalis, I will not have sex with you.”
547. >Her magic pulls you over, “Please! I need to get past this! This is the fastest way!”
548. “No! I don’t want to!”
549.
550. >She lets you go, looking away. “...Anonymous, I know you aren’t... into ponies...”
551. “Yes, I’m not. So why bother asking?”
552. >You’re anger is now starting to show. “Look, Anon...”
553. >”...If I turn into a human, would that sway your choice in any way?”
554. >You open your mouth to say no, but pause. Thinking it through, it probably would sway your choice, if only slightly.
555. >But at the end of the day, she would only look human. She wouldn’t actually be human.
556. >And that was, at the end of the day, the main problem.
557. >”...No, then?” She sighs, dejected. “I understand. Well. Maybe one day you’ll change your mind.”
558. >She begins to get off your bed, but a slight pull on her wings stops her.
559. “...Chrysalis, is it really as bad as you’re saying? You seem much more in control of yourself than the other mares.”
560. >”I am 200 years old, you realize. I’ve... had some experience in resisting these things.”
561. “So why can’t you keep resisting?”
562. >”Because I have you, Anon! You can make it go away in one go! Please!”
563.
564. >You frown, shuffling away from the pretty much begging mare beside you.
565. >She follows you wherever you go, unfortunately. Her face was mere inches from yours.
566. >She was definitely in need of some assistance. What to do...
567. >”So...”
568. “Chrys, I’m not having sex with you. But I think I know what you can do.”
569. >”Hm? And what would that be, Anon?”
570. “Down the hall. Permanence. Go fuck him? He can’t say no to his queen.”
571. >Chrysalis gives you a disgusted look. “HIM? You want me to have sex with HIM? Really?”
572. “Better than nothing, is it not? Besides, he’s uh... the right size?”
573. >She looks away, not really big on the idea. “I don’t know, Anon. He’s... well. Bad.”
574. >He’s bad? How did she know this?
575. >She seems to know what you’re thinking, “No, I’ve never fucked him, if you’re wondering. But think about it Anonymous. Town full of horny mares. Single royal caste changeling sitting in a palace. Why do /you/ think none of the mares are trying to get him?”
576. “Because he doesn’t let them?”
577. >You smile sheepishly, but know exactly why the mares won’t touch him.
578.
579. >”Right. Anyhow, Anon, I would personally prefer not resorting to that. Seriously, please don’t make me do this.”
580. “Well, I’m not fucking you. What else can you do?”
581. >She frowns, thinking to herself for a time.
582. >”Well, you’ve got those fancy hands of yours. Perhaps you could use the-“
583. “No no no! I am not doing that either!”
584. >She sighs, “What if I help you along first? Get you in the mood a little?”
585. “No, you’re not getting under my pants.”
586. >She groans, “What if I do a little dance? I can think of a few changeling ritual dances you’d probably enjoy.”
587. “I’d rather you not.”
588. >She grits her teeth in frustration. Her horn lights up. “What if I wipe your memory of the event afterward? You wouldn’t have to live with the thoughts!”
589. “I will not have sex with you, Chrysalis! Can’t you just drop it?”
590. >Her hormones are getting the better of her again. ”No! Can’t drop it! I need to be pleasured!”
591. “So, clop or something! Why does it have to be someone else?”
592. >She pauses, thinking this over. Oh great. Just great.
593.
594. >She sighs in defeat. “I suppose I could try that. It’s usually not as effective though...”
595. “Not my problem.”
596. >Her horn lights up. You can hear various things shuffling and moving around underneath the bed.
597. “Chrysalis, what the fuck are you-“
598. >”Aha! Here it is!”
599. >Her magic pulls out... a very big dildo. By the gods, why was that under this bed?
600. “Chrysalis? Where did you get that?”
601. >”I have make sure I have emergency tools in all my quarters. I’ve got another back at your place too.”
602. >She smiles, pulling you in close with a hoof.
603. “Chrysalis, I’d really prefer you do this somewhere else.”
604. >”My bed. My palace. My hive. Deal with it.”
605. >She pulls you into a hug. To your dismay, she’s got your arms pinned to your sides to prevent you from jabbing your way out of her grip.
606. >She blushes, grunting as her tool gets to work. “You don’t know what you’re missing, Anon.”
607. >She continues to play with her rod of god for awhile before yelling out in climax. It doesn’t take nearly as long as you would think.
608.
609. >She’d definitely worn herself out though. Sweat covers much of her form, despite her only going at it for maybe five minutes.
610. >Her horn lights up.
611. >She pulls the blankets over the two you of, tightening her hug. Well shit. No escape now...
612. >You cautiously sniff at the air. Ugh. You can smell her everywhere.
613. >She smiles, rubbing noses with you. “Maybe next time?”
614. >You pale as she sets her head down, quickly falling asleep. Fuck.
615. >You would not sleep that night. The smell and queens’ vice grip would make sure of that.
616. >Fucking changelings. And fucking heat. Never again.
617. /Sometime later.../
618. >Tired, you walked back into your home.
619. >Despite Chrysalis apologizing profusely for her heat driven actions the night before, you still felt violated as hell.
620. >Ugh. Maybe Rainbow would be a better choice. At least she didn’t have magic.
621. >Derpy trots up to you, welcoming you back to your home. She also hands you a pretty big letter.
622. >A letter from Nympha, Chrysalis’ crazy sister. Reluctantly you open it up.
623. >Chrysalis, who is looking over your shoulder, gapes. You’re surprised Nympha was even able to get a camera to take all these photos of herself. You shrug, turning to Chrysalis.
624. “Just for the record, yours looks better.”
