1. The Marvellous Mishaps of Anon and Chrysalis
2. Chapter 3: The Chapter where Shining Armor fails to get on my level
3.
4. >Chrysalis was pacing
5. >In the time you had been with her, she paced a good deal
6. >You had noted many different kinds of paces. Some were worried paces. Others were angry paces
7. >This was her 'evil plotting' pacing.
8. >Every since you had told her that her main targets would be in town, she seemed unable to sit still. She had already gone over a huge variety of evil plots and plans to off Cadance, Shining Armor, or both.
9. >You weren't exactly supportive of this endeavor, however. Killing Twilight's siblings was not high on your to do list.
10. >However, you sat and listened to her ranting, as did Ditto, who had been called up to plot with you both
11. >Though you'd noticed he generally just nodded at everything, and wasn't any help at all
12. >Chrysalis stopped, and closed her eyes, looking at nothing in particular
13. >She turns to you, "Anon, do you have a basement?"
14. >You raise an eyebrow, "Erm. Yes. Why?"
15. >She smiles, "Lead the way."
16.
17. >Grumbling, you head into your basement.
18. >It wasn't much. Not even big, really. You kept some cleaning supplies here and that was it
19. "This is it. So uh, why did you want to see it again?"
20. >She ignores you, and walks over to the far wall
21. >She presses against it with a hoof.
22. "...What are you doing?"
23. >"Her majesty is seeing if we can connect our Hive Cluster to this building."
24. >You blink, then chuckle. What were these Changelings? The Zerg?
25. >But then you blink again.
26. "...She's not going to break down one of my walls, is she?"
27. >Ditto shakes his head, "Of course not." You smile, relieved. "There are others who do that."
28. >Relief: Deceased
29.
30. "Chrysalis, now hold on a second."
31. >She pauses in her analysis, and looks at you, "Hm? What is it?"
32. "First of all, I didn't say you could break down my basement walls and build a tunnel."
33. >She rolls her eyes, but stays silent
34. "Secondly, why would you need a tunnel to your uh, Hive Cluster anyway?"
35. >She just stares at you
36. >Ditto sighs, "Logistics, Anonymous. Her majesty needs to have easy access to the Hive Cluster if she plans to rule it."
37. >You raise an eyebrow at this "Can't she just, magic letters back and forth?"
38. >"That's the idea, Anon. Except it's hard to 'magic a letter' without a path to the recipient."
39. >You have to admit; she's got you there
40. "Fair enough. So uh, how exactly is this tunnel going to be made? Something tells me your Hive isn't just around the corner."
41. >Chrysalis laughs, "We changelings are masters at underground construction, Anon. My swarm shall dig a path in no time at all, no matter where we are."
42. >Her horn glows the usual sickly green, a bolt of energy striking the far wall. A strange symbol appears on it.
43. >You frown, unimpressed
44. "I figured 'you changelings' were masters of disguise, really."
45. >She glares at you as she walks past, "Unlike your kind, we are capable of Mastering more than just the art of /drinking/."
46.
47. >That day was fairly quiet
48. >No Fluttershy trying to rape/seduce you
49. >No Applejack raping/seducing you
50. >Not even Rainbro to hang out with. She was busy clearing the skies with the rest of the Ponyville Weather Patrol
51. >You were already not liking this married couple
52. >So you sat about on your couch, watching shows about nothing
53. >Ditto was... around. You didn't really care much about what he did, as long as it wasn't trouble.
54. >After all, he was no bro.
55. >You begin to feel the slightest shaking
56. >You glance over to your drink
57. >It's shaking
58. >Everything begins to sway slightly
59. >Oh god, and earthquake
60. >You get up and dive for your Kitchen table
61. >You hide underneath it
62. >The shaking gets more fierce as you hide
63. >Various objects fall to the ground
64. >The shaking stops
65.
66. >You stay underneath the table. While the quake was gone, you knew Aftershocks were common
67. >You hear the clipclop of hooves approach you
68. >"Anon?"
69. >You turn to see Ditto's head looking at you
70. "Yes Ditto?"
71. >He blinks at you. You mirror his gesture. "What are you doing under your kitchen table?"
72. >You frown at him
73. "What are you doing out there?"
74. >A minute of silence passes
75. >He backs up, raising his head, "Just looking around."
76. >You get up from under the table, "I'm sure."
77. >You shake your head, tired already from today's shenanigans.
78. >Unfortunately there would be no respite
79. >"Commander Ditto! The Tunnel is completed! Where is our Queen?"
80. >You turn to see another Changeling, though this one was smaller than Ditto. It wore a helmet like Ditto, but this one was a miner's helmet clearly.
81. >Ditto turns to him, "She should be in her quarters. Do not disturb her." He turns to you,
82. >"Shall we take a look, Anonymous?"
83. >Well, it's not like you were doing anything else...
84.
85. >It was quite the sight
86. >A tall, fairly square shaped entry way was carved into your basement's wall
87. >You could see various green lamps strung at equal intervals
88. >The floor in the tunnel was also quite smooth looking, though you questioned the credibility of this
89. >Oh, and there was also a team of about 6 Changeling miners milling about near the entrance
90. >"Good work. Return to your posts."
91. >The miners nod, and file out through the dimly lit tunnel
92. >Ditto turns to you, a faint smile on his face. You return his gaze
93. "Well, guess she wasn't kidding when she said it'd be in no time..."
94. >Ditto nods, "Yes. We are a skilled race, as you can tell."
95. >You ignore his racial pride, "I'm just wondering how the rest of Ponyville was reacting to that shakeup..."
96. >He pauses, looking about
97. >"Uh. Should we go check?"
98. >You look at him emotionlessly. "I guess. But first, you need a makeover."
99.
100. >You walked down into town, 'Rainbow Dash' hovering close behind
101. >From the weather schedule Rainbro had dumped you that morning, you knew they were dumping all the clouds way off near Whitetail Woods.
102. >Thus, there was no chance of Rainbro and 'Rainbow' to meet.
103. >...You probably had just screwed yourself with that thought
104. >Either way, the Town was a shitfest as expected
105. >Ponies were freaking out left and right, rambling on about the quake
106. >You can't help but smile at how fooled everyone is
107. >Though you were fooled too
108. >'Rainbro' turns to you, "So uh, looks pretty messy. What do we do now?"
109. >You shrug
110. "Well, that Princess Cadance is supposed to be in town."
111. >"Preemptive scouting? Sounds good. Lead the way."
112. >You frown. That wasn't what you meant, but alright.
113. >Lets just hope she wouldn't see through his paper thin disguise.
114.
115. >You and 'Rainbro' passed through town, reaching the Library quickly
116. >Outside you noticed a royal chariot, with a pair of stallions attached to the front
117. >You approach the house, but the door abruptly opens, and a familiar Green unicorn is pushed outside. The door slams shut.
118. >Lyra is teary eyed, and looks down, crushed
119. >You nod to Ditto, and approach the unicorn
120. "Uh, hi Lyra. I'm guessing she said no?"
121. >The unicorn looks up at you, sniffling
122. >"Y-Yeah... She said it was a r-rediculous request! She was so harsh about it..."
123. >You frown. As annoying as she was, Lyra wasn't evil or anything.
124. "I'll talk to her, for you."
125. >Lyra cheers up greatly, grabbing one of your hands, smiling, "T-Thank you Anon!"
126. >You smile awkwardly, pulling away your appendage.
127. >You walk towards to the house, but are interrupted in your crusade, "Halt!"
128. >You and Ditto turn to the guards, which were staring at you.
129. "Problem, officer?"
130.
131. >"Yes, there is a problem. Her majesty, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and her consort, Shining Armor, have requested they not be interrupted during their stay."
132. >Cross your arms, and frown.
133. "It'll only be a second, right Rainbow Dash?"
134. >Ditto nods quickly, "Uh yeah! Ten seconds flat!"
135. >You roll your eyes at his horrible impression. The voice was right, sure, but my god. Really?
136. >The guards frown, "No means no, sir. Do not disrupt them."
137. >You shake your head, "It's a public building. You can't just take over."
138. >They glare daggers at you and your companion. Lyra wisely backed up away from the growing tension.
139. "Also, you're kind of hooked up to that chariot."
140. >You gesture to the chariot, which they indeed, were hooked up too.
141. "So, uh, yeah. Your empty threats are indeed empty."
142. >You turn to the door before they can react, and move in to knock
143.
144. >But it doesn't come to pass. The door swings open, your hand hitting empty space.
145. >You look down, seeing Twilight smiling giddily up at you, "Hi Anon!" She looks to the side, "Oh, hi Rainbow Dash! Come on in you two!"
146. >You quickly oblige, before the guards can object
147. >Inside you spot a pair of ponies, large ones at that, sitting on a pair of pillows around Twilight's table.
148. >The pink one seems highly agitated about something. You notice quickly her horn and wings. That was definitely Cadance.
149. >The other one was a white Stallion with a blue mane and tail. His cutie mark seems a bit like Twilight's, with that same pink star.
150. >It was weird though. Twilight's brother looked nothing like her...
151. >He was at least, smiling.
152. >The pair look at you, scrutinizing your form. 'Rainbow' took a seat around the table, taking care to be far from Cadance and Shining Armor. 'She' was quite high strung as well, which made sense really.
153. >After all, 'she' did conquer, or well, attempt, to conquer the city they were in.
154. >Eventually, Shining Armor spoke, "So you're the 'Anonymous' my sister keeps writing about! Nice to meet you!"
155. >You smile back at him, Cadance's scowl dissipating somewhat
156. "Likewise. I take it you are Shining Armor?"
157. >He nods, "That's right."
158. >You turn to his companion, "And you, must be Cadance."
159.
160. >The Pink Princess nods weakly, "Yes."
161. >You could tell she was clearly stressed greatly, though of what, you weren't sure
162. >That probably explained her harsh words to Lyra, so you could let it slide
163. >This once
164. >You take a seat near Rainbow Dash, and Twilight begins to fill you in
165. >Apparently the Princess had requested the duo head to Ponyville to assist Twilight in her research
166. >This seemed odd. Twilight was highly competent in non-social situations, and she had produced a plethora of 'Friendship Reports' for her teacher
167. >You would know. She had you read a copy of each of them
168. >However, asking for details could raise suspicion, which you would like to avoid, at least for now
169. >The less ponies who found about the Changelings under your roof, the better
170.
171. >Eventually you said your goodbyes, and went home, 'Rainbro' following close behind
172. >unfortunately, your trip home would not go unmolested
173. >Turning a corner in approach to your house, you spotted a familiar orange mare
174. >And she, had spotted you
175. >You glance at 'Rainbro' who raises an eyebrow at you. You sigh.
176. "That's Applejack. Another Rapist. Rainbow protects me from her shit. Do that?"
177. >He blinks, then nods slowly, "I will try, Anonymous."
178. >Applejack quickly closes the distance, and shoots Rainbow an annoyed glare
179. >It doesn't last though, as she smiles up at you
180. >"Howdy Anon! Out for a stroll Ah see!"
181. >You nod slowly, "Yes. And I was just going home, so if you don't mind..."
182. >You attempt to walk around her, but she steps back in your path
183. >"Well, why don't ah accompany ya back then?"
184. >You gesture to 'Rainbro', "I've got an escort. But thanks for the thought."
185. >You find yourself again blocked by the orange terror
186. >"Ah Insist."
187.
188. >Morbidly curious to see what she'd try, you let Applejack walk with you
189. >As you figured, she stood fast on the opposite side of you, as far from 'Rainbro' as possible.
190. >You actually felt bad, thinking back. These two were once great friends
191. >And while they occasionally got along, because of you, the relationship they once had was dead, most likely for good
192. >Of course, you wouldn't actually apologize to Applejack for anything short of saving your life
193. >And since she'd probably ask for sex as thanks...
194. >You shake your head, disgusted. You never understood what these mares found so alluring in your form.
195. >"Something wrong, hun?" You gaze down at Applejack, who seemed... actually concerned?
196. >You remembered Rainbow telling you how she was taking acting lessons with Rarity and some other mares, and disregarded her 'concern.'
197. "Yes. I'm fine."
198. >She didn't seem convinced, but didn't say anything as you kept walking
199. >Suddenly, a nearby bush rustled
200. >All three of you turned to it, confused. Bushes did not rustle.
201. >...Well at least they didn't on Earth.
202. "Um, hello? Anyone in there?"
203.
204. >There was indeed something in the bush. Not exactly what you were expecting, however.
205. >It was Fluttershy, obviously, with a pair of bad vampire teeth, and a black hoodie. There were cuts in the hood of said hoodie that were either taped or glue up to look like Changeling ears. She had holes in the legs of her outfit, and a black horn sticking from her forehead.
206. >As expected she also had a pair of insecty wings, though these were obviously cardboard, painted green. All in all, she looked absolutely fucking rediculous, and you couldn't help but laugh at the gettup.
207. >"Hi Anonymous!" She smiled widely, her fangs falling out. "Oops!" She reached down and picked them up, putting them back in her mouth.
208. >Applejack was... confused to say the least. "Fluttershy? What in tarnation are y'all doing?"
209. >Fluttershy smiled, "Ooh, well I found out that Anon has a Changeling Fetish! So I'm going to dress up like a Changeling for him! See, he's enjoying it!"
210. >She points towards you, as you laughed at her gettup. You didn't notice 'Rainbro' start to sweat visibly.
211. >Applejack frowns at this, looking you over, "But how does Anon even know about Changelings? Did Twi tell him or something?"
212. >Fluttershy smiles at this, but your smile dies with your laughter
213. >Oh. Shit. No.
214. "YES! That's exactly right. Twilight mentioned them. Yes!"
215. >Fluttershy blinks, confused, "Um, oh. I didn't know that."
216. >"Then how did y'all know Anon had a Changeling fetish?"
217. >"I have to go. Do... Uh. Something. YES."
218. >Everyone turned to Ditto, who was sweating buckets and shaking.
219. >He flew off at the attention, leaving you with the ravenous mares.
220. >Fucking Changelings.
221.
222. >Applejack was quite shocked at Rainbro bailing. You honestly expected her to jump you now.
223. >However, she was clearly not so easily fooled, and didn't do anything.
224. >Yet.
225. >Fluttershy smiled to herself, "I guess she wanted to give us some alone time?"
226. >You feel Applejack's hoof on your leg. You instinctively flinch away, putting some distance between you.
227. >Applejack turns to you, her eyes half lidded, a smirking clearly placed upon her face
228. >"How kind a' her."
229. >She approaches, slowly, "Now, Anon, don't fight. Y'all enjoy every moment, I assure ya."
230. >You frown, about to rebut her claims. But then an idea comes to mind.
231. >A devious, and diabolical idea. But it'd save you ass, you were sure.
232. >You turn to Fluttershy, and smile, "Well Fluttershy, I've got to hand it to you."
233. >She blinks, confused, "Oh? What did I do?"
234. "The suit. You really outdid yourself. Changelings are most definately my fetish. No doubt."
235. >She glows at this, "Wow! I knew I'd find it eventually!"
236. >Applejack looks to her, then back at you.
237. "How about we head back to my place, Fluttershy?"
238. >Her smile grows, her eyes shining, "Oh yes! Take me Anon!"
239. >You smile uneasily. Here was hoping...
240.
241. >Your hopes were answered, as you... well, hoped.
242. >"Now wait a darn minute, Fluttershy! We agreed to share Anonymous!"
243. >Fluttershy looks at her, surprised at her outburst. You take a step back.
244. >"Oh. Well, I...-"
245. >"Well nothing, Flutters! If you're getting him, so do I!" She turns to you, expectantly.
246. >You look her over, scrutinizing her appearance
247. "I don't know Applejack. Do you have a Changeling fetish too?"
248. >She narrows her eyes, "What the hey is a Changeling fetish? That don't make one bit of sense."
249. >You shake your head, trying hard to not smile
250. "That's a no then. Sorry Applejack, but it just wouldn't be the same."
251. >She glares furiously out you, stepping forward,
252. >"There ain't no way, no how, that I am backing down now. Flutters, come on, lets get 'im!"
253. >She waits for a response, but doesn't get one.
254. >She turns back, "Fluttershy, are y'all paying... attention...?"
255. >She stops in her tracks. Fluttershy was giving her a fairly creepy glare.
256. >So this was the mighty 'Stare.'
257. >"No, Applejack. Let me tell you THIS."
258. >She steps forward, towards Applejack, who seemed compelled to back off
259. >You take a few more steps back. It was now or never.
260.
261. >Applejack seems to find her spine, and halts in her retreat.
262. >"Look Fluttershy! We have a deal!"
263. >Fluttershy glares, barring her teeth, "No, means NO!"
264. >You roll your eyes. You could taste the irony in the air.
265. >"Coming from you? Cute!"
266. >Applejack steps forward, knocking her head into Fluttershy's. She backs up in a daze from the attack, her scowl growing by the second.
267. >"You asked for it!" She hisses, and charges, tackling Applejack
268. >They roll, Fluttershy on top. She raises her hooves, hitting Applejack in the face repeatedly.
269. >Applejack manages to push Fluttershy up off of her, bucking her in the gut, Fluttershy's eyes going wide from the blow.
270. >She goes flying some distance, landing on her back. She groans, as Applejack approaches.
271. >Time to go.
272. >You turn and run through the space between some homes. Reaching the other side, you turn towards the direction of your home
273. >Sprinting, you manage to get your house into view, before a familiar face flies up beside you
274. >Rainbro?
275. "Rainbow Dash? Is that you?"
276. >The rainbow maned pony rolls her eyes, "Duh? Who else would it be?"
277. >You smile, the REAL Rainbro now at your side. Reaching your door, you quickly unlock it
278. >You usher Rainbow inside, and lock up. You head for your booze.
279. >Time to finish the scotch.
280.
281. >After relaxing for about an hour with your bro, eventually the telltail clipclop of hooves approaches
282. >Turning to the door, Chrysalis, in disguise, of course, steps within view
283. >She smiles at you, seemingly happier than normal
284. >Turning her head, she sees Rainbow. Her smile falters somewhat at her presence.
285. >"Ah. Rainbow Dash. Hello..."
286. >She looks downward, then approaches. She sits beside her on the couch.
287. >"How was your day?"
288. >Rainbow laughs, "Mine was fine. Had to push a mountain of clouds off so they wouldn't drift to ponyville."
289. >She smiles at her, "Can't have it raining on the newly weds, after all."
290. >She cringes at their mention. "Yes. Of course..."
291. >She turns to you, "Though I was asking you, specifically, Anon. How was today?"
292. >You know why she's asking. She knew you saw Cadance.
293. >And she wanted to know the details.
294.
295. >There wasn't much to tell, really
296. >Cadance and Shining Armor had a room at Ponyville's finest Hotel.
297. >They were sent by Celestia to apparently help Twilight in her studies
298. >And that was all you knew, thus far
299. >Chrysalis didn't make her interest clear, what with Dash present
300. >Dash herself went on about how nice the duo were and how she hoped to hang out at some point
301. >Eventually though, Dash headed out. Ditto returned shortly after
302. >After alerting her to his blatant failure, Chrysalis took him off to berrate him for his failure
303. >You were inclined to agree with her treatment. That was some real bullshit back there.
304. >Night eventually fell, and you ended up not finishing the scotch
305. >At least not yet
306. >You went into your room, laying down onto your bed
307. >You sighed, and placed the bottle onto a nearby nighttable
308. >Suddenly, a knock on the door
309.
310. "Come in."
311. >And in she came. Chrysalis entered your room, avoiding your gaze
312. >"Hello, Anonymous. I wanted to talk."
313. "Alright, what's up?"
314. >She walks towards you, hoping up onto your bed. While you were slightly miffed at her intrusion, you didn't say anything.
315. >She sat, getting somewhat comfortable. She looked up at you, her face somewhat sad.
316. >"As you know, we Changelings feed upon the emotions of other creatures for sustainence."
317. >You nod. She had mentioned this many times, and Ditto had said a few things on the subject as well.
318. >"However, that's not all."
319. >You raise an eyebrow at her, as she closed her eyes.
320. >Her horn glowed green, and her form shimmered, as she became the Queen once more.
321. >"You see, we need only so much emotion to maintain ourselves. The excess is converted into magical power."
322. >You frown, "And this makes your kind stronger?"
323. >She nods. "That's right. When I laid siege on Canterlot, I had absorbed a massive amount of love from Shining Armor."
324. >You frown. "However, love is fickle. Unless it is directed at the Changeling that wishes to use it, they cannot fully convert it into power."
325. >You nod.
326. "And what does this have to do with me?"
327.
328. >She looks away, "When I used the power his love granted me, I was able to overcome even Celestia."
329. >She meets your gaze.
330. >"If I am to secure my people's future, I will need even more power than last time."
331. >Your frown deepens. You were not sure you liked where this was heading.
332. "That still doesn't explain what you need of me."
333. >She leans in closer. You would back up, but you were already at the back of the bed.
334. >"I need someone's love if I am to stand a chance."
335. >She begins to close the gap. Before long she's right in your face, her green eyes shimmering in the moonlight of your window.
336. >You can feel her breath on your face.
337. "Chrysalis, I..."
338. >She smiles, "Most creatures I've met had shunned my kind, back to the depths of our underground home..."
339. >You look away, uneasy. You didn't think you could overpower someone this big. Especially not with that magic of hers...
340. >"Yet you were caring enough to let me stay in your home. You were polite to my subjects..."
341. >She smiles, "And you're helping me protect thier future. Anon..."
342. >You weakly put a hand on her chest. You smile uneasily
343. "Chrysalis, look. You're very nice and everything, but I-"
344. >A sharp gasp floods the room, and you both freeze
345.
346. >You slowly turn towards the window.
347. >Your eyes widen at what you saw.
348. >Fluttershy.
349. >She had been spying on you, clearly. After your false promise, she was bound to reappear eventually.
350. >You look towards Chrysalis, who's face had turned a purplish red. She wasn't angry
351. >She was scared. Fluttershy knew the truth now.
352. "Chrysalis. Could you uh... Get off?"
353. >She wasn't leaning on you, really. But you couldn't move where she sat
354. >Chrysalis starts, and quickly gets up, and off your bed.
355. >Fluttershy is frozen. Her wings flap, but otherwise she hasn't moved an inch.
356. >"I-I will go. We can discuss this tommorrow."
357. >The Queen backs up, slowly, and exits. You rise from your bed, and head to the window.
358. >You open it, and face the yellow peril.
359. "What the hell do you want, Fluttershy?"
360. >She mumbles something about a Queen.
361. "Yes. That's the Changeling Queen. What of it?"
362. >"A-Anon... S-She's evil. Why was she...?"
363. "I don't know. Now go away."
364. >You slam the window in her face, and close the blinds. God damnit. Now what?
365.
366. >You didn't sleep easy that night.
367. >Chrysalis... moves had left you greatly rustled
368. >Regardless, you did your best to sleep.
369.
370. >The Next Morning...
371. >You managed to force yourself out of bed, but you still felt drained.
372. >You started your morning routine, but it ran slowly.
373. >Eventually you got out of your room, and headed downstairs.
374. >You were surprised at what you saw.
375. >Chrysalis had managed to get your stove working, and was attempting to cook up some eggs.
376. "Chrysalis? What are you...?"
377. >She jumps, startled, turning to you. You noticed he had her mane tied back, probably to keep her hair out of the food.
378. >It looks kind of cute, actually.
379. >Wait no, brain, stop that. It was bad enough with ponies. But she was an insect queen. Thing.
380. >"Oh, Anonymous. I was just trying to make... Food."
381. >You glance past her, at her constructed food. She seemed to have gotten the hand of it. Or hoof, you suppose.
382. "Not bad. How about I finish this up?"
383. >She smiles at you. You smiled back.
384.
385. >You finish the sandwiches. You both sit, and eat them in silence.
386. >You thought about what Chrysalis had said. She needed the power of love to defeat Celestia.
387. >But you didn't really love Chrysalis. She was a friend, obviously.
388. >But you wouldn't say you loved her. Not even slightly. She was just... the Queen who lived in your spare room.
389. >Though perhaps it was possible. It wasn't like you'd be finding any human women anytime soon.
390. >You sigh. "What's wrong, Anonymous?"
391. "Oh nothing."
392. >She is not convinced, "Anonymous, tell me what troubles you. I can make it feel better. I assure you."
393. >You sigh
394. "Just thinking about home. That's all."
395. >She frowns. "I see."
396. >She returns to her sandwich.
397. >You had finished yours, and stood up.
398. >"Where are you heading?" You turn to her, your face serious.
399. "Fluttershy's cottage. We have business."
400.
401. >And so you went. Chrysalis went as her disguise, but you had planned on dropping it once you found her.
402. >Within a half hour, you knocked upon the cottage door
403. >It opened, revealing, once more, Angel
404. "Hello Angel. Where is Fluttershy?"
405. >He shrugs uncaringly. You frown.
406. >"Look, rabbit. You will tell us what we want to know, and you will tell us now."
407. >She glares at him. Angel flinches just barely. That was actually quite a feat.
408. >He sighs, mute as always, and points down the road.
409. >You blink.
410. "She's in Ponyville?"
411. >Angel nods at you. Oh no. Oh no no no no!
412. "Thank you, Angel. Chrysalis, let's go?"
413. >She nods, "Yes. Time fo damamage control. Quickly."
414. >She heads past, galloping down the path. You sprint off after her.
415. >Time was of the essence.
416.
417. >You headed into Ponyville with Chrysalis. You looked about. Where was she?
418. >You approached a pony, Roseluck you think it was
419. "Uh, hello. Have you seen Fluttershy? It's urgent."
420. >She backs away from you a bit, "N-No, sorry."
421. >You frown, "Well, thank you. Chrysalis, come on."
422. >She nods, and follows you down the street.
423. >Sugarcube corner comes into view. Perhaps there?
424. >You enter the confectionery construction, looking about.
425. >You see Mrs. Cake behind the counter. Thanks to her constant interaction with Pinkie, she and her family were fairly accepting of you, unlike most shop owners.
426. >"Well Hello Anonymous! What brings you here? Looking for something sweet?" She smiles warmly
427. "Maybe later. Have you seen Fluttershy at all?"
428. >She thinks, "Hm. Yes she was here earlier. She fetched Pinkie. Something about a meeting at Twilight's. It seemed urgent..."
429. >Code Applejack did not even describe how worried you were now.
430. "Thanks for the heads up. Chrysalis?"
431. >"Coming, coming!"
432. >She follows close behind and you run to the Library
433.
434. >You approach the Library with Chrysalis following behind
435. >It was quiet, but you didn't suspect much
436. >You walked to the door, putting a hand on it. You turned to Chrysalis
437. >She nodded at you. This was it.
438. >You pushed the door open, and walked into the room. The ocupants were somewhat surprised at your sudden appearance.
439. >Of the Main 6, all but Applejack were present. They all wore highly worried faces, instead of the visages of disgust you expected.
440. >You noticed fluttershy also had a black eye, and it appeared part of her mane was ripped out. You hadn't noticed it last night.
441. >They stayed where they stood (or hovered) however, as anthor occupant raised a hoof
442. >Shining Armor was here as well, wearing what seemed to be his Royal Guard attire, bar the Roman style helmet they were known for
443. >Beside him was Cadance, as usual, but the Mayor was also here, and the two chariot pullers were also present.
444. >Shining Armor's face was creepily stoic. It seemed the friendly stallion from before was gone.
445. >And only the Captain of the Royal Guard was here.
446. >"Anonymous, greetings. I did not expect you to come to us."
447. >What did he mean by 'come to us?'
448. >You walk in, but Chrysalis found herself repelled by an invisible force field on the door.
449. >You turn to her, but the door is magiced shut before you could do anything.
450. "What's going on here, Shining?"
451.
452. >"I should be asking you that, Anonymous. Take a seat."
453. >A wooden chair floated lazily over to you. Reluctantly, you sat within it.
454. >No belts or other binds came out of it, so that much was good, at least.
455. >"Now then." He looks at Fluttershy, then back to you, "Fluttershy here brought to my attention that the Changeling Queen was in your home last night."
456. >You nod. No point denying that.
457. "Yes. BUt don't you find it odd how Fluttershy just so happened to be looking into my windows so late at night?"
458. >Shining doesn't show any reaction to this. "It is peculiar. I will look into it later."
459. >He takes a few steps forward, "However, that leaves the question: Why was the Queen in your home?"
460. >You shrug. "Couldn't tell you, honestly. She just shows up occasionally."
461. >It seemed like a good idea to throw up an emergency alibi in case someone spotted Chrysalis in her true form at home. It probably would of been an even better idea to tell her of these plans as well, but it was a bit late for that now.
462. >He frowns, "And how long has she been 'showing up occasionally?'"
463. "I suppose a few weeks. You know, she's not all that ba-"
464. >"Anonymous, the Changeling Queen, and likely her lesser minions, are capable of potent mind control spells. These spells are very subtle unless used repeatably. How do I know you aren't being controlled by her?"
465. >You blink. You didn't know this about the Changelings. You frown. What else was being hidden from you?
466. "I don't know."
467. >It was honest at least. Shining Armor sighs, and pulls out a strange green amulet.
468. >"This amulet is designed to glow within the presence of a Changeling in it's natural state."
469. >Didn't like the way this was going, but you nodded nonetheless.
470.
471. >His horn begins to glow, the same pinkish color that Twilight's did.
472. >"I'm going to cast an enchantment spell on you. This spell will change the radius which this amulet glows to follow you, instead of the amulet."
473. >You nod, uncertain.
474. >"If a changeling, like say, the Queen, approaches you in it's natural state, the Amulet, which I will keep on my person, will glow."
475. "But don't Changelings generally stay in thier transformed state outside of thier homelands?"
476. >He nods, "That's right. You seem quite informed on thier race."
477. >Shit, how do we explain that? Brain?
478. >Uh, try this
479. "The Queen's mentioned a few things, now and then."
480. >He continues to frown, "Well, she won't be capable of hiding for much longer. Since the incident, the Equestrian Mages Guild was put to work to design a countermeasure."
481. >He lifts up a diagram. A blueprint of some sort of tower.
482.
483. >"These towers generate a magical field which, through various process, disrupts a Changeling's disguise magic."
484. "So they wouldn't be able to hide?"
485. >"Correct. We've already got one in Canterlot. Seeing as there is an infestation brewing in Ponyville, our next one will go up here."
486. >This was a game changer. Chrysalis would not be happy about this.
487. >"Now then. For that spell..."
488. >Shining closed his eyes, and his horn's glow grew somewhat. After a few seconds, a greenish pinkish blob of energy flew out of it, colliding with your chest.
489. >The magic was absorbed into you, a curious tingling sensation filling your form.
490. >"Oh, and Anonymous, by the way." He floated up a map, which had an image of the amulet in the corner.
491. >"This map works with the Amulet. If a changeling appears, we will know where."
492. >You nod, "Alright. Got it. Can I go now?"
493. >He frowns, "You may."
494.
495. >You wouldn't be leaving quite so soon, however. As soon as you had stood, Rainbro and the rest of the main 6 were upon you.
496. >"Oh my gosh, Anon are you okay?"
497. >You smile weakly for her
498. "Yes Rainbow, I'm fine. No worries."
499. >She frowns, "She didn't hurt you, did she?" You shake your head. She most likely would never hurt you, seeing as you were her planned 'Power Source.'
500. >"Darling, why didn't you let us know about this?" She seemed almost offended. "We /are/ the Elements of Harmony, after all. You know we'd protect you!"
501. >You glance towards Fluttershy. If Applejack was here, you would of done the same. You really doubted Rarity's claims of passivity.
502. >You notice Pinkie hasn't said anything yet. She just looks up at you, scared.
503. "Pinkie, I'll be fine. You'll see. Everything will work out in the end."
504. >She nodded weakly, "Okie dokie lokie..."
505. >You saw Twilight approach Shining Armor, concerned. Cadance was still beside him, but she turned her gaze to you.
506. >Her face held a mixture of frustration, guilt, and contempt. Something told you that Cadance wasn't going to be on your 'bro' list anything soon.
507. >She didn't say anything. She just watched you, with the mob of ponies around you.
508. >But, regardless of what you were thinking, you had some things to do.
509. >You got up, and left. Rainbro kept close by.
510.
511. >On the walk home, you were rejoined by Chrysalis
512. >She was highly worried, you could see it on her face.
513. >"So Anon uh, what's with the whole Changeling Queen thing?"
514. >You sigh, and look towards Chrysalis, who nods sadly.
515. "I'll explain when we get to my house."
516. >Soon enough, you reach the door. You turn to Chrysalis,
517. "Go find Ditto, and have him turn into something. I don't care what. He can't be in his normal form, or the spell Shining Armor cast on me will alert him."
518. >She nods, "Right. I'll go find him..."
519. >She enters, the door closing behind her. You turn to Rainbro.
520. >She eyes you, worried. "I'm not sure I like where this is going, Anon... Just who IS Chrysalis?"
521. >You sigh.

"Do you trust me Rainbow?"
522. >She nods, "Of course Anon! We're bros!"
523. >You kneal down in front of her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
524. "Chrysalis IS the Changeling Queen."
525. >Rainbow looks up at you, confused, "W-What? She's the Changeling...?"
526. >She pushes your hand off, "Anon, that's..."
527. >Before she can find the words, the door opens back up. In it stood Another Rainbro, and Chrysalis.
528.
529. >You all head inside. Rainbro sits as far away from her double as possible.
530. >You go over with Chrysalis and Ditto what was going to occur. They weren't pleased.
531. >Chrysalis was also dismayed at you telling Rainbro, but at this point, there was nothing else to do
532. >She turned to Rainbro, the REAL one, and smiled weakly, "I suppose 'no hard feelings' isn't going to work?"
533. >Rainbro shot her a cold glare, "Let me make this clear. The only reason I'm not flying over to Shining Armor to report you is because Anon will go down with you."
534. >She looked at you. "And that is not something I could let happen."
535. >Ditto frowned, and look at her, "Will you at least help us in our plight?"
536. >She crossed her forelegs, looking away, "Since I'm not helping Shining, I'm not weilding the elements to fry your flanks. That's all you'll get."
537. >Ditto 'hmphed.' "I suppose that is sufficient. Thank you."
538. >Chrysalis looked up at you, her eyes reflecting some light
539. >"Anonymous, I will still need your help with this. That tower cannot go up."
540. >You nod. It really couldn't. Who knows how many Changeling agents were already hiding in Ponyville.
541. >You would need a plan.
542. >The tower had to die.
