Cold snap

Name (Equestrian): Cold Snap Brennenbeak

 

Name (Griffonian): Mæir Runl Brændonbic

 

Appearance: His beak isn't so big, considering he's from the far north, where males look less like pelicans and more like hawks. His facial feathers are snow white, with dark mottled grey highlights. His feathers wreath his face, but grow longest in the front. His wing feathers are a darker grey, bordering on black, but are not yet as dark as his beak and the scaly skin of his claws. His back half (the feline part) is covered in fur that is lighter grey, similar to the color of a husky dog. In the warmer climates of Equestria, Snap doesn't need to wear many clothes, but does, for the sake of fashion, wear a scarf around his neck.

Personality: Cold Snap is very shy, most of the time, but is eager to get out and live life nonetheless. He likes to meet new people (griffons and ponies alike), but he is very nervous about impressing them. He only truly opens up about himself when he's drunk, which, to his family's consternation, is as frequently as he can get alcohol. Not so much a drunk as a functioning alcoholic, Snap will drink anything from beer to paint thinner in order to get over his fear of interacting with people. Also, to his family's consternation, Cold Snap is gay, having fallen out of the closet in a drunken stupor.

 

Backstory: Maeir came to Equestria to seek medical care for a disease that would leave him paralyzed. Equestrian doctors have slightly better treatment options than griffonian ones, but not by much. Nonetheless, he's come to stay in Equestria, finding temporary work as a Griffonian museum tour guide and translator.
