Feeling

He returned late at night. Home was silent and not even a sound came out. Nereek came inside and checked his girls first - all of them were sleeping in Rikka's bed, hugging each other. Seemed like they've had their fun. He fixed the blanket and left the room. He smiled to himself. As for now, these two don't need separate room, they've looked so peaceful with his daughter, and she was very happy too, having such company.

Next morning Nereek woke up because he felt something jumped on his body. At first he was ready to set it ablaze, but reason told him that he's in his own house and this something is his daughter. It wasn't true. In reality not only his daughter, but Celestia and Luna were sitting on him too.

"Goodness, you'll make me flat. Give me a rest."

Giggling, they get off him, taking their seats around him.

"You were late yesterday."

"Yeah, I'm sorry, I couldn't help it, but I had to do some stuff. But I don't think you were bored, weren't you?"

"Noo, we're not."

Now, as Rikka joined this duo, it sounded even more cheerful. Nereek couldn't help it and smiled back at them.

"Good. But it's time for me to wake too. So let me out of my bed, children."

After breakfast Nereek told fillies to follow him to the river - he was going to start real lesson this time. He asked Rikka to prepare his fishing pole and get him two buckets: one for fish, and one for apples which grew alongside the river - he has to find something for him there too. After short trip they've came to the bank of the stream.

"So you want to learn how to deal with magic."

Both of ponies were listening closely - Nereek was almost seeing his former students. Even if he told them not the same stuff, feeling was the same. And that was great.

"First of all, you have to be able to sense magic like I do. There are many kinds of wizards, mages and other magic users you can think of. But most of them are just thinking they are. I've known many so-called mages, who never felt magic, energies, auras and all this stuff. If you can't feel it, you can't use it. Magic is alive, it's an art. Any spell you can find or create is just a pattern to make complex form of magic less complicated to perform. If you feel it, you can create your own spells, forms and figures. If you can't, you're bound to use stuff, created by others. There is no art in such use, no soul, nothing individual. One can acquire this skill by nature or by training. But only if this training is good enough. Some mages had begun to see magic as they practiced a lot of spells. Not your way I think."

"Whoa, it's rather hard."

"I never told it'll be easy trip. You may end up without anything, but if you are really up to it, it worth a try."

"We'll get through it."

Sisters were agreed here. Good. Nereek felt that their powers are connected somehow, so if they're both into it, it'll really increase their growth. He was almost sure that despite all they'll be able to learn from him. Godlike powers were just permanent reminder for him.

"Sit down, take a look around, remember carefully every detail you can see. Then close your eyes, imagine everything around you, try to make it look as realistic as you can. Remember, all this things are around you, they are real. Focus on that thought. Try to feel everything around you. Stretch your powers around you, like you did to manipulate dishes, but in all directions at once. Feel everything with your memory, imagination and magic. Now I'll be behind this hill, try to do as I've said. And don't give up if you can't perform this task at the first try, just practice and occasionally you'll get result."
