Title: Rosetta Pt.1 (Jackie Repair) Author: GraphiteAchasse Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/jQ2GJdxL First Edit: Thursday 13th of November 2014 02:09:16 AM CDT Last Edit: Thursday 13th of November 2014 02:09:16 AM CDT ((You are Jackie)) >Okay, so it has been a few weeks since the huge Ai pone gathering >Things are rolling, software production is underway, everyone is working together as a team >Things couldn’t be more perfect >You were just laying there sprawled out on the bed, frizzy tail dangling off, mane covering face >You check your clock >1:30pm >You don’t even need to sleep, but for some reason it felt so good >Which reminds you, Anon was supposed to start developing a mark IV capacitor system for you >Even though you don’t have any wings or internal neodymiums to power, you still could use the added luxury >Who knows, maybe you could become useful for jumping cars… multiple cars at once >You hop off of the bed and look down at the city from your window, pressing your nose against it “I wish I had wings…” >You trot downstairs to find anon fiddling with a small piece of computer board or chip of some sort >“Morning, Darling.” “Morning… hey uhm… do you think sometime soon we could fix me up some wings?” >He stared at you, looking a little concerned >“Well… you see, replicating a part as complex as wing is insanely difficult… I don’t think we even have the resources to do that… a-and we would have to reprogram you, and extract the flight APIs from the other Pegasus AI ponies, and th-” “Screw it.” >“Hey look I’m sorry, I would if I could, as it is, look at what I have for you.” >He held up the chip he was fiddling with “Oh, that’s my mark IV?” >“Yep, want to install this now? Later?” >You mull it over “Let me have my programmer fuel first.” >You walk over to the espresso machine and make a four-ounce of caramel Peruvian >You gulp it back and hop up onto the island table in the middle of the room, give Anon a little smooch and lay down in front of him “This one is going to be difficult isn’t it?” >“It’s your entire energy grid Jackie.” >You sigh and let Anon get to work with it >“I take it you don’t want to be running while we do this?” >You chuckle “No, leave me running this time, I need to see what exactly this will look like.” >“Alright, no freaking out on me though.” >He pressed a button and the ceiling above you opened up to reveal a few connector cables and some mechanical arms >He proceeded to clip cables on multiple ports on your hooves and stuffed one in your mouth >You give him a lewd look and flick your tail >He rolls his eyes and looks away >“Not in the mood Jackie, also not in the mood to be cleaning up if anything happens.” >Ai ponies have multiple areas of high-speed connectivity all over their body >Because they are structured the same way as regular ponies, the best places for receiving data and controls are where you would guess >The most sensitive areas… >You flop over on your side and watch as a light illuminates where the old capacitor chip is located, directly beside your right flank >You see anon clicking things on the computer left of the desk and you lose feeling of that entire half of your body “W-wa…” >“Calm down, just shutting down things that are directly connected to the chip. Would it help if I announced what I was doing?” “Yeah sure.” >“Switching to alternate power source.” >You watch in your syslog and overview as it displays your capacitor turning off and your body running through the facility power >“Starting chip replacement.” >A large mechanical arm comes down from the ceiling and rests against your side, then starts to move in a circular motion, using a rapid laser to get into your exoskeleton. “Trippy.” >The arm pops the piece off and makes a firm grip on the now exposed mark III chip, then pulls it out with ease >That part actually felt tingly and odd, probably just really close to the biological part of you >You let out a small giggle >The arm discards the old chip off to the side of the table and grabs the new one >It places it in the exposed slot and begins to mend your side back together “Hmm, fascinating.” >The mechanical arm retracts into the ceiling and you try to get up forgetting that half of your body isn’t active >Anon laughs and turns reroutes your power to the new chip “Whoa holy crap.” >The feeling of the new chip was kind of like that exhilarating feeling of a rollercoaster without the inertia >You see your gauge display a healthy 250 megajoules, a massive upgrade from your tiny 50 megajoules previously >You wiggle your rump about and hop off of the table >“So I got a phone call last night after you dozed off. I have a surprise for you.” “O-oh?”
