Your name is Amber Light. You're a unicorn who started out with nothing and climbed your way to the very top. Your thirst for adventure and passion in your field brought you to Canterlot. Your special someone, Derpy, has been there for you since the very start of your journey, and it's now been 7 months since you first met. She may be silly, blunt, and awkward at times, but that's all part of why you love her.

 

// First thing's first. I'm skipping ahead 3 months past the birth of your Griffin. We didn't really settle on a name at the close of the last chapter, so we kinda need one now. If there's no objections, I'm going with one that was suggested by a handful of people, which was Harmony. If any one has any objections, voice em now, else I'm going to jump right into the story. //

 

You're running through the thick woods of the Everfree forest, galloping as fast as you can, panting and trembling with sweat. You feel the earth shake underneath your hooves followed by the crackling of the toppling trees behind you. You find yourself tripping on the various vines covering the poorly paved out trail, taking the hits of the various tree branches reaching out in front of you as they come. You must not look back, but you can't hold in the desire to do so any longer. You head turns while you're galloping and you see the a purple beast, with a body so large it's head seems to pierce the heavens themselves. You lose track of what's in front of you as you trip over what felt like a rock and you find yourself skidding across the dirt path. You hear the large beast let out a blood curdling screech as he lowers his open jaws to your body. The screech grows louder and louder as his mouth draws near you. You want to run, with every fiber of your being you want to run, but it feels as if someone turned up the gravity to an unbearable amount which leaves you frozen to the ground. You can't look away, even your eyes are frozen in fear as the jaws draw closer with the sound of the screech until everything aruond you goes black.

 

You jolt back up in your bed, your breathing heavy, as you try to catch your breathe. The suns starting to raise as you look to Harmony who's crying in her crib. Then you look to Derpy who seems completely unaffected by her screeching, and fast asleep besides you

 

Dragging yourself out of bed you make your way to Harmony's crib. Looking into it you see that she ripped up her mattress, again, but there's not much you can do about that this early in the morning. You lift her up with your magic and check her diaper which is clean. You gently hold her in one arm while she cries. Before walking out of the room you look to Derpy, who seems to still be sleeping like a brick. You make your way to the kitchen and see a large pile of mail on the counter while you open the fridge and pick up a jar of mashed earth worms. Pulling up a chair, you sit down and feed them to Harmony, which manages to stop her from crying.

 

While feeding Harmony, you use your magic to randomly pluck out a piece of mail from the pile. It happens to be a newsletter you don't remember subscribing to, but it does have your name on it. Skimming through it, you read something about the royal guards, and in the corner you see a small blurb about the Pet Store you bought Harmony's egg from has gone out of business. Something which rarely happens in Canterlot. Sifting through a bit more mail in the large pile, you start to notice that some mail has other ponies names on it, and you start to realize that this is part of Derpy's "undelivered mail pile"

 

After you finish feeding Harmony and put the jar in the sink. After burping Harmony, you feel her start scratching at your arm with her sharp talons, which is usually something she does when she wants to get down. However, you'd rather put her to bed and wake up Derpy first.

 

You carry her over to her little playpen you and Derpy set up last month and sit her down with all her toys. Immediately upon doing so she pounces on her toy snake and starts to toss it around her pen, jumping after it. You're honestly surprised it's still in one piece. While she starts to run around in circles with the snake in her mouth you make your way back to your bedroom and try to wake up Derpy.

 

The suns already rose, so you open the curtains to shed light on her, which doesn't seem to work to wake her up. "Derpy, wake up, it's morning" She continues to sleep so you try to nudge her awake. However, the nudging doesn't manage to do much. You roll her over onto her back and poke her "Derpy, wake up wake up wake up." she rolls back over onto stomach, and then rolls over again and off the bed. You expect to hear a thud but see that she woke herself up and started flying before she hit the ground. "Nice reflexes."

"Oh, sorry about that.. I'm sure we can find someone to help us later. Did you notice about the Pet Store closing down by the way?" Derpy shakes her head, "Well, I know now that you told me. So what happened to it?" Derpy picks up the brush on the night stand and begins to brush your clumped up hair while you talk "Oh it went bankrupt, the article didn't really say why though, and hey how many of those letters were for us?" Derpy shrugs her shoulders and says "I saw a handful, but I haven't really sorted them out.."-

 

"We can sort them out now if you'd like Derpy" She doesn't seem so enthusiastic about letter sorting as she replies back "Okkaaayyyyy, but let's do it quick, I wanna play with Harmony!" You giggle and nod your head while you head to the large pile of letters.

 

You hear some growling as Harmony tries tear up the elastic snake while you sort through the pile of letters. 30 minutes later you have everything in a nice neat pile. Looks like 5 ponies haven't received their mail in a while. You included. "Derpy we should really start prioritizing our own mail over others.." "I know I know I will, don't worry" You open a manila envelope at the top of your pile and read the letter out loud,

 

"Princess Celestia Cordially Invites you to the wedding of Princess Mia Amore Cadenza and Shining Armor. Princess Mi Amor Cadenza, known through the kingdom as Cadance, and Shining Armor are to be wed in Canterlot this Saturday. Princess Celestia is to officiate the nuptials. Cadance is the niece of Canterlot's Princess Celestia, and Shining Armor currently serves as Captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard. The bride and groom-to-be first met years ago when Cadance served as foal-sitter for the groom's younger sister, Twilight Sparkle, who will act as "best mare". Fellow ponies from Appleloosa, Galloping Gorge, Fillydelphia, and even Manehatten will be joining us for this special occassion. Please join us in celebrating for we how to see you there."

 

"Wait a second, isn't today Saturday?" You flip the letter around and see that it had been sent 5 days ago.

 

Derpy smiles and claps her hooves "Heheheh, yay! I always wanted to go to a real live wedding Ambee!" You giggle a bit and bring the next manila envelope up in front of you as you open it up to read it. "My Royal Photographer Ambient Light, I'd like to invite you to act as the official photographer for the wedding. Please come ready for the reception with your camera by noon. I hope to see you there. Yours truly, Princess Celestia." Derpy finishes brush your mane as she adds "Well at least we have some time to get ready. It's only 7 o clock after all"

 

"So Derpy, we should probably start getting re-" half way through your sentence you realized she trotted off to Harmony. Derpy calls out to you "She fell asleep Ambee!" you turn around and look to her play pen, where harmony is laying on her stomach, fast asleep, with the snake ripped apart in two.

 

Your heart skips a beat as you assume the worst. You hear harmony snore and roll over onto her side and curl into a ball and you let out a soft sigh. Derpy climbs into the play pen and crawls up with Harmony and cuddle with her while she looks up to you as you walk towards her and asks, "Are we gonna take Harmony to the wedding Amber?" Well, Derpy does seem pretty good at keeping Harmony entertained so you figure, why not, "Yeah sure, just as long as you can take care of her while we're out and about"

 

You decide against wearing dresses and figure that it shouldn't be a big deal to go to the wedding unclothed. Derpy ends up taking a nap with Harmony while you prepared a nice lunch to take with you. With all the extra time you also took a map out and started marking it up with where Derpy has to deliver her mail. Making sure that your cameras are ready, and that you have everything you need for the wedding, you wake up Derpy and Harmony to head off to the wedding.

 

Luckily the reception was practically next door to you in the castle, so it was only a 5 minute walk. It wound up getting pretty noisy as you made your way into the crowd. Everyone's busy chatting with one another, so it seems like the ceremony wont start for another 15 minutes or so. You look around for you good friend Twilight but you don't see here around anywhere. In the mean time though, you set up your camera and start taking pictures while Derpy is playing with Harmony by bouncing her up and down on her back.

 

After walking about and collecting the pictures you needed, you look around the crowd for friends. Strange though, Lyra and Carrot Top aren't around. You hear the instruments start to play as you rush to the side to take some pictures.

 

You see the 3 little fillies that created all that mess with the school news paper skipping down the aisle, tossing their flowers about with Cadence follows shortly after. You almost run through an entire reel as you try to take as many as you can. You find it kind of difficult to get a good picture of Shining Armor, he seems a bit under the weather. To say the least.

 

// Alright we all know what happens here. 23:70 - 30:00. Twilight exposes the Queen of the Changlings, Celestia is taken down, mane 6 are sent to retrieve the elements of Harmony. This is where the Adventure part starts, all canon is capable of changing based on your actions. //

 

Your eyes and widen and your pupils shrink as you look down in horror at the fallen Celestia while you hear the rest of the ponies at the reception screaming and running.

 

You look out the window and see the shield the shining armor put up has already been broken, you look around for Derpy among the screaming mass of people as the Changeling Queen lets out a loud maniacal laugh. A stallion knocks into you as you search the crowd and you try to get back to your feet as fast as possible. You hear the crying of Harmony, and you start galloping down the crowd charging through the mass of chaos. You find Derpy at the door with a crying Harmony on her back. "Derpy! DERPY! Are you and Harmony okay?!" Derpy fights through her fear and replies back "I am perfectly fine. Where are we supposed to go though? The crowd's getting too chaotic, and I don't think it's safe here for us to stay any longer. Even if we leave the castle, I don't think we'll be able to get back home with all those Changeling minions running about!"

 

After seeing the Changeling Queens powers, you feel it only makes sense to ask her a question to make sure it's the real her. There's no way a changeling would know something as vague as how they first met. "Derpy first I want to ask you some-" Derpy interrupts you and waves her wing at you signaling for you to follow "Come on, we can't stay here! It's getting to dangerous. Let's find some shelter." She starts to gallop out the door with Harmony crying on her back

 

Being suspicious you gallop after Derpy and cast your magic down to Harmony to lift her off her back. Derpy stops and turns back to you, "Come on now, we have to run and hide before any of them catch us! " You give her a strange look "IF you're the real Derpy, then what's my name!" She calls back at you "We don't have time for this! Changlings are everywhere!"

 

"come on derpy, just say my name one more time... please." She pauses for a second before exclaiming back "I don't have time for this! We have to go! NOW!" She then starts galloping off into the distance

 

You think to yourself that there's no way this can be Derpy. Memories of the time you spent her start rushing and the mere thought of losing her for the rest of your life fills you with the rage required to charge at the imposter. You gallop after her and tackle her to the ground. "What IS my NAME?!" She replies back "We don't have time for this what are you doing!" You focus your magic as hard as you can and manage to send a single close range blast knocking off the Changelings disguise. "What did you do with her?!" the changling hisses at you as you feel Harmony on your back transform into a Changeling while you have the other pinned. Your heart starts to beat insanely fast as the world around you seem to slow down at the dreadful realization

 

Using your telekinesis you focus your magic on the Changeling that's on your back and toss him over your shoulder and into the one in front of you. They knock their heads together and seem temporarily dazed as you reach to where your saddle pack would of been if you carried one with you. You hear what sounded like your name being called out in the distance which catches your attention, but in that moment, you feel a sort of green slime hit your back foot which seemed to of glued it down to the floor

 

Using your magic one last time, you focus it all on a teleportation spell to get you out of the glue and closer to where your name was called out. You find yourself on the stair case headed up to your house, where you see Harmony and Derpy completely covered in the Changelings green goop. "AMBER! There's too many! You have to run!" You see her crying as Harmony is angrily snapping at the goop the entraps her with her beak. The three changelings look towards you and transform each of themselves into Derpy while hissing at you.

 

You feel time slow down as you see Derpy's tear hit the ground. Your eyes widen and the adrenaline pumps through you. While the Changelings slowly approach you, you quickly cast a teleportation spell, reappearing behind the changeling in the back. You buck him as hard as you can, knocking him off the side of the staircase. You look down to the other two who screech at you as they notice where you are. One of the changelings charges you but you charge back slamming your head down into his. He tumbles down the stairs as the last changeling shoots his glue at you as you catch your balance. The goop pushes you back into Derpy, binding you onto the floor and Derpy while the Changeling cautiously approaches you.

 

You attempt to cast a telekinesis spell on the last Changeling but you feel your horn fizzing out, you manage to lift up his hoof but he simply shakes the spell off him and he starts to takes an aggressive stance as he starts to circle around the three of you.

 

You feel the changeling start to feed off your love, sapping the very energy out of you. "Derpy, I just wanted to say I love you and Harmony so very much. I know it's not really appropriate but it seems we're going to have to stick together." You notice the changeling stop for a second to chuckle. "and... it seems like we've gotten our self in quiet the sticky situation!" Derpy starts to giggle at your silliness as the changeling steps back to laugh a bit more.

 

You look to Derpy and smile. She asks you "Hey Amber, what would you call a pony that lives next door?" The changeling tries to put on a serious face as he tries to approach you again, you reply back to Derpy "Oh you mean our, NEIGHbors" The changeling tries to hold in his laughter but fails as he sputters out a laugh, "You know Derpy, next time we really should STICK to the plan!" The changeling continues to laugh as he steps back and stumbles on one of the steps. You watch him trip all the way down the staircase, hitting his head on the way down until he lands at the bottom knocked out, luck for you that changeling was easily amused. You and Derpy are both giggling, however, you're both still stuck in the green goop. Derpy catches her breathe and asks "So what are we supposed to do now Amber..?"

 

You try to cast your magic once more but to no avail. Harmony is still pecking at the goo but it doesn't seem to be doing much. "Amber.. we may never get out of this, but I just wanted you to know that I love you and I'm so happy to have you here with me and Harmony" You see her start to cry as you reply back to her, "I love you too Derpy. You and Harmony mean so much to me, I swear I never want to lose either of you." You feel yourself to start to cry as well, and at this moment you feel a large wave of magic pass through you, as you see it extend outwards from the castle. You see the changelings getting pushed back from the magic shield while the green goop starts to dissipate, and at this moment, you hear Harmony exclaim her first word "Mommy!"

 

You quickly get back up to your hoofs and you wrap your arms around Harmony and Derpy. Derpy hugs you back and you hear Harmony say "Mommy!" one more time. You still however have no clue how any of what just happened though

 

After hugging Derpy you look towards the expanding shield and manage to take out your camera and snap a picture of the Changelings flying outwards from Canterlot. You then point your camera at Harmony and take a screen shot of Harmony (with the flash still on). She gets a bit dizzy from the flash and says "Mommy?" You and Derpy giggle as you kiss her on the cheek. "Alright Derpy, we gotta head down to the wedding! We don't wanna miss a second of the, hopefully real this time, wedding. You gallop back to where the wedding is to be held and you see Cadance standing with a much more healthy looking Shining Armor, and Twilight helping Celestia off the ground. However, it seems like you and Derpy were the first ones to arrive here after all that mess.

 

You see Princess Celestia get back up on her hooves and and talk to Twilight for a bit before you walk towards them. You bow down to Celestia and approach Twilight to ask her what happened. She explains the entire ordeal with the Changeling Queen, in almost an annoying amount of detail until you're fully caught up on the entire situation, as well as how Shining Armor and Cadence used their love to get rid of the Changelings.Derpy flying behind you with Harmony on her back goes "Awwwhhh, that's so romantic! I wish we can have a wedding just like that Amber!" You feel yourself start to blush, you've never heard Derpy talk about marriage before, let alone cross her mind. As all these thoughts are racing your mind, you hear Twilight ask "Is that a baby griffin..?"

 

"yes Twilight, long story short: remember that egg we got at the pet shop? So........now she is our daughter.She's already 3 months and are still learning how to talk. Say hi to Twilight, Harmony"

"Oh alright, thank you, I'll have to track him down later then." You extend a helping hoof to Twilight for the wedding, and she gladly accepts your help. Soon after, a stream of other ponies come in and and offer to help getting the wedding back together. Princess Cadence seems extremely grateful for everyone's help. Twilight put you in charge of helping set up and redecorate the reception hall. Derpy helped you reach any high points you couldn't and followed you around while you were redecorating. While decorating you hear her trying to get Harmony to talk more. "Come on Harmony, say 'Hi'!"" you hear Derpy repeat this a couple times until you hear Harmony hiccup "AMBER! SHE SAID IT! SHE SAY HI!" you giggle a bit and reply back to her, "I don't think tha-" you hear her hiccup and again and Derpy interrupts you "Looks look she said it again!"

 

After the wedding gets ready again you get back to watch the real Princess Cadence walk down the aisle.
