You look around for your friends, seeing that Bon Bon and Lyra are cooing at the baby monkeys, while Twilight and Carrot Top are trying to get the Parrot to repeat what they're saying, seemingly unsuccessful. Derpy's in the corner staring at an egg sitting in an incubator, while your eye is caught by the most adorable little ferret you've ever seen.

 

You trot your way over to Derpy ignoring the ferret for now, who pretty much has her eyes pressed up against the incubator staring at that egg. You giggle a bit, and continue to ask her, "Whatcha lookin at Derpy?" "An egg." You stop for a moment feeling a bit stupid, "I meant, what kinda egg are you looking at?" "A round one!" You shortly stare into the abyss to contemplate your own existence. "Sorry, I meant, 'What do you think will hatch from the egg?'" Derpy shrugs her shoulders, "I don't know, I think a baby animal of some sort.." you look up to the label on the incubator to see it just says "Egg"

 

You approach one of the workers who seems to of been monitoring Derpy from afar. You tap his shoulder to get his attention, "So what kind of egg's in the incubator" The unicorn seems a bit nervous, "Oh, in that egg, um, well you.. i-it's a a, pigeon egg you. Extremely common and all that. Might I interest you in one of our dove's though? A beautiful species, yes?"

 

Not satisfied with his answer, you try to squeeze some more information out of the unicorn, "Surely a mere Pigeon egg wouldn't require it's own incubator. Are you sure there's not something ELSE in that egg..?" The unicorn stutters a bit while saying "Of course not, well you see, we here at Plenty of Pets keep top quality care for all our eggs. Even the lowly pigeon eggs." It's plain to see that he's hiding something, "So how much for the 'pigeon' egg?" He's in a bit of shock that you would want to buy it even after he downplayed the egg so much, "umm.. well.. 16,000 bits!"

 

Taken aback by the incredibly over priced "pigeon" egg, you decide you should try to figure out what game this guys playing. "How could a 'pigeon' egg possibly cost that much?" The unicorn seems to of regained his composure, "We here at Plenty of Pets reserve the right to price any animal we sell here at any price we see fit. If you don't like it, then you can leave." You're a little ticked off at this point, "I wanna see your manager then!" to which he quickly replies "I AM the manager!"

 

"The talking toucan in the topiary is only worth 4000 bits, why the hay does a 'pigeon' egg cost 4 times as much?!" The owner seems a bit bothered by your stubbornness, "The price IS what the price IS. If you can't afford it, then just buy another pet. I'm sure the 15 bit hamsters are more within your price range"

 

You turn to face Derpy who's walking towards you from the egg. You meet her half way there and ask her in a whisper, "So you want to get that egg Derpy..?" You see her big smile grow as she nods her head an excitedly replies, "Yeah yeah yeah! We can be like mommy's Amber!"

You turn back to the owner of the store and ask him, "Alright, looks like we're buying your pigeon egg then." The owner scoffs as he assumes his price is well above what we can afford "That would be 16 thous-" you interrupt him by floating a large sack of bit bills in front of him, "There, that's 16,000 bits. Now give us the egg." You can see his heart sink as he just stares at the money in complete and utter surprise. "Y-Yes ma'am." He takes the money and proceeds to use his magic to float the egg in the air, you overlap his magic and take it from him. "Good doing business with you." Derpy seems to be completely oblivious to the tension as she's just sticking her tongue out with a smile. You look towards your friends who are still playing around with the animals out on display, as you start to twirl the egg around observing it's color. The egg itself being yellow, black and white. Derpy's giggling behind you as she says to you "We're mommies now Amber! We're mommies!

 

You make your way back to the others with Derpy following you, as they all seem to be huddled around a dog that's chasing it's own tail. "You guys decide to buy anything?" Twilight replies back to you, "Not really. I already have my own owl, Spike's, and Spike's phoenix to take care of." Carrot Top follows by saying, "I'd really love to get a rabbit now that I think of it, but I'm sure I can get one from Fluttershy with out having to pay.." and lastly Lyra, "The monkeys there look pretty cool, but it'd just be too much work to take care of you know? But hey, what did you and Derpy get?" You look towards your egg, "I'm not exactly sure. The owner said it was a pigeon egg though." Twilight gives you a strange look "That's definitely no pigeon egg. A pigeon egg would be white and tiny, that's much too big." "So what do you think it is" Twilight contorts her face as she thinks, "Sorry but I couldn't tell you. It looks nothing like anything I've seen or read about from Equestria."

 

You look back to where the owner was before, but it seems he stormed off into his office. You turn back to the group and ask, "So what's everyone wanna do now?" Derpy quickly chimes in, "Ooh Amber, let's show them our new home. We can make them dinner and dessert before they head back to Ponyville!" The rest of the group seems to like that idea, but you have no clue what you'd prepare for dinner. Celestia did give you a full kitchen though, so it's more of a question if what you'll make instead of what you have. Twilight's still observing the egg, wondering what it is herself. You see her horn glow and she tries to see into it "Hey you know, I can't really tell what's inside, but what ever it is, it's close to hatching you know.."

 

You figure the meal shouldn't be too hard to prepare so you agree with Derpy's idea "Yeah sure, me and Derpy shouldn't have too much trouble whipping up dinner. Lemme just make sure I have everything for this egg before we leave." You walk over to the incubator with your egg floating behind you as you cradle it warmly within your magic. Calling a sales representative over, you and her work out the price for the incubator, and she tells you that the incubator would cost 50 bits and a months worth of bird feed should just be about 20 bits. You ask her about the egg though, but she doesn't seem to be able to identify it. She does assure you that it's too small to be a reptile's egg. You check out your the supplies and walk out with your friends and your new egg floating snug inside it's incubator. You try to keep yourself out of the casual conversation, as you want to focus more on keeping the egg safe in it's incubator.

 

You and your friends later make it to your loft, reassuring the guards that they're all with you. Your friends are in complete awe of the size and regal of your new home. Twilight quickly finds your library and asks you "Are all these books yours?!" You lay the incubator a nearby night stand as you answer back "Nah not really, they're a gift from Princess Celestia, you can have at them though if you'd like. I never really got around to reading them.." You hear Twilight's squee as she buries herself within your books. The rest of your friends are chatting in the living room about the latest gossip that you don't really care about. Calling Derpy over to you, you ask her to help prepare the meal. You figure a salad with fruits and carrots would be nice, so you start preparing your dish as Derpy effortlessly makes her muffins faster than you can ever manage.

 

15 or so minutes later, you call everyone to the dinner table where they crowd over the food and take their share before sitting down. Bon Bon asks you after taking a bite out of her muffin, "So what do you and Derpy plan to do to keep yourselves busy here? It doesn't seem anything like Ponyville up here."

 

"Ehh.. it's not really as interesting as Ponyville, and definitely not as dangerous which is a plus I guess. There's garden parties, art shows, and the Wonderbolt races to attend to every now and then." You look towards the egg on the night stand where you see it start to shake back and fourth a bit. Carrot Top continues the conversation by asking, "Don't the unicorns here bother you? They seem a bit snobby and all. I feel like I'm getting dirty looks here just because I don't have a horn on my head.."

 

You roll your eyes just thinking about the Unicorns you met at Club Paradise. "You'll get used to the unicorns and they'll get used to you, despite the fact you may look and sound a little too "regular"." Carrot Top shrugs and says "It is what it is I guess." The casual conversation continues until everyone finishes of their meal.

 

Its already gotten pretty late, so your friends say their good bye's, and take their leave back to Ponyville. You and Derpy clean off the dishes and you make your way to the couch in the living room where Derpy jumps on top of you and licks your neck, "So what do you wanna do now Amber?"

 

You roll onto your back and wrap your hooves around Derpy. "After such a long day, I'd love it if we could just fool around a little.." Derpy doesn't seem too enthusiastic about this "But we just did it yesterday, and besides" she leans in to whisper "what if the baby hears us?" You see her dart her eyes back and fourth between you and the egg.

 

You explain to Derpy, "Well it's just an egg.. I don't think it could hear us..." Derpy getting a little cuddly now, buries her face in your your fur as she rubs her legs against yours. "We gotta name it Amber!" Right when she finishes her sentence you hear a bit of a cracking noise, something Derpy didn't notice.

 

You start getting extremely excited yourself after hearing that faint cracking sound "Derpy did you hear that?!" Derpy looks a bit confused "huh, what?"

"The egg is hatching, the egg is hatching!" Derpy lets out an excited squeel as both of you rush over to watch your egg hatch.

 

Careful lifting the egg out of the incubator, you float it over to the soft sofa cushions where you see a crack along the side of the egg. You hear whatever's inside pecking at the shell as you see it's black beak beak start to poke through the shell. You and Derpy hold each other in anticipation. It starts to poke a bigger hole into the shell as you watch it break the shell and crawl out of it. Originally thinking it was a bird at first, you notice that the rest of the body resembles more of a baby cubs. "Derpy Derpy Derpy, it's a Griffin!" Derpy has the biggest smile on her face you've ever seen "We're mommies now Amber!" The little griffin stumbles on the sofa, with her black beak, white feathers, yellow fur, and two front claws that are also black. The Griffin shakes off the remains of the shell while you bring your hooves to your mouth because of how cute she is. Derpy has her arms wrapped tightly around you, "Amber, look how pretty she is~!"

 

You hear the Griffin let out small chirps, crying for attention. You gently lift up the Griffin in your arms as you hold her gently while she pecks at your fur. You look down and then to Derpy "Derpy, it's a girl. What do ya wanna name her?" Derpy presses her body close to your while gently petting the griffon's back. "What about, Banana Nut?" "Isn't that the name of your favorite kinda muffin though" she smiles while nodding her head "Mhm! So do you have any ideas for a name..?"

 

Your newly born Griffin starts cooing as you cuddle her in your arms. "Hmm.. maybe Harmony, but this is all so sudden. Let's wait some time before we name her. We should do some studying on Griffins before we think of something good." Derpy doesn't seem bothered by this, she's still gazing lovingly at the Griffin who's currently pushing her head against your arm, "That sounds good, but, where's she gonna sleep Amber?" you think for a moment. You did buy a cage, expecting some sort of bird, but the fact that she's a Grifin makes this an entirely different situation.

 

"Hold on Derpy, I'm going to be out for a second." You gently hand the Griffin to Derpy to hold as you step back and start to focus your magic. "Okey dokey Amber!" You disappear in a large flash of magic, which seems to of entertained the Griffin. Derpy waits for your return as she gently sits the Griffin on the sofa, while she grabs a babies bottle from her saddle pack, and fills it up with some milk as she hears the Griffin start chirping. She hurries back with the bottle and gently place the tip to the Griffins beak, as she latches onto the bottle and drinks the milk. Derpy smiles nice and big as you return back to the house in another flash of magic with a cradle you just bought from a nearby department store. Your magic completely drained from the teleportation spells. You look at the bottle, having absolutely no clue where it came from, but you figure it's not really important.

 

Derpy seems to be completely focused on the Griffin at the moment. You trot off to your back an grab your camera as you set it up on a tripod in front of Derpy. "Derpy I wanna take a picture!" Derpy is smiling nice and bright already as you set the timer while Derpy says "Hsshhhh she's startin to get sleepy" You softly trot your way next to her as you and Derpy smile into the camera, with the newborn Griffin being held gently in your arms. The camera goes off without the flash and you press a big kiss on Derpy's cheek as the camera takes one last picture. "Let's bring her to the crib now Derpy." She nods her head and you carry her to the crib, gently placing her on her pillow. You and Derpy gaze into the crib as you see the Griffin still latched to her bottle. She starts to fall to sleep after yawning as you gently rock the crib. Derpy bites her lip and smiles before whispering "We're mommies now Amber!"
