  1. >Running down the walkways, you could hear your hoofs on the wooden plaform.
  2. >You were going to be late, and on your first day too.
  3. >You had taken a job as a foalsitter since you needed a little extra money, and had nothing going on tonight.
  4. >Hopefully at least Jasmine was there by now.
  5. >Turning down a corner, you can see the house.
  6. >Slowing down you pace, you jog up to the house.
  7. >Stopping in front of the door, you brush yourself and knock on the door.
  8. >Hearing the door knob turn, the door opens to reveal a small colt.
  9. "Hello, I'm Night Watch, and I'm your foalsitter."
  10. >Looking past him, you look inside his house to see if Jasmine or his parents were inside.
  11. >Kneeling next to him, you tousle his hair.
  12. "Where are your parents?"
  13. >"They left after you took so long to get here."
  14. >Turning around, the colt walks into his house.
  15. >Following him, he walks over to the counter, where he takes a piece of paper.
  16. >Walking up to you, he hands it to you.
  17. >"I'm supposed to give this to you. Ivy is in the other room, doing her homework, and my name is Nook."
  18. >Walking over to the fridge, Nook looks inside and take a juice box.
  19. >Heading over to the kitchen table, he sits down and begins coloring on paper with crayons.
  20. >Going over to sit next to him, you set the paper down on the table.
  21. >Reading over it, it's the usual foalsitting stuff, like put them to bed by nine, and don't lt them eat too much candy, things like that.
  22. >Hearing a door open down the hall, you turn in your chair to face it.
  23. >Looking down the hall, you see a little filly emerge from what you supposed was her room.
  24. >This must have been Ivy.
  25. >Noticing you, Ivy walks over to the table a puts her front hooves on it and looks at Nook.
  26. >"Why didn't you tell me the foalsitter was here?"
  27. >Shrugging the little bat pony goes back to coloring.
  28. >Hearing a knock on the door, you turn to get out of your chair.
  29. >That must have been Jasmine.
  30. >Noticing Ivy already, heading to the door, you stop and sit back down.
  31. >Inviting Jasmine in, Ivy goes back down to her room.
  32. "What took you so long to get here? You're thirty minutes late."
  33. >Taking off her coat, Jasmien walks up to you and sets in on the chair next to you.
  34. >"Sorry, I was dealing with a stallion that keeps annoying me."
  35. >Jasmine sometimes mentioned a stallion that annoys her, but you've never been able to ask her about it.
  36. "Oh, what's he like? Is he cute?"
  37. >Walking over to the fridge, Jasmine looks inside.
  38. >"I don't know, kind of. But he's very annoying and stamers a lot around me."
  39. >Turning to you, Nook interrupts your conversation.
  40. >"I'm hungry."
  41. >Oh yeah, you were supposed to make them dinner for them.
  42. >Walking over next to Jasmine, you look into the fridge with her, but don't find much.
  43. >Maybe you could make them pasta.
  44. >Heading over to the pantry, you open it and find a bag of noodles.
  45. >Pouiring its contents into a pot, you fill it with water and put on the oven.
  46. >Leaning against the counter, you continue your conversation with Jasmine.
  47. "Well, maybe he's just nervous. He might like you. You should go on a date with him."
  48. >"Oh, no way that's happening."
  49. >Turning to face her, you rest your hooves on the counter.
  50. "Why not? You even said yourself he was kinda cute."
  51. >Standing up straight, Jasmine points over to the pot of noodles.
  52. >"Why not? Because he's exactly like that pot right there."
  53. >Not understanding what she means, you walk up next to her.
  54. "What's that supposed to mean?"
  55. >Sighing, Jasmine throws her forelegs into the air.
  56. >"He's fucking full of spaghetti!"
  57. >Hearing a gasp, you turn over to the hallway, to see Ivy with her mouth open.
  58. >Looking back to the table, you see Nook with wide eyes.
  59. >"What does 'fuck' mean?"
  60. >Oh shit.
  61. >"Um it doesn't mean anything!"
  62. >Turning to Jasmine, you smack her.
  63. "Don't put things like that in their heads!"
  64. >Walking over to Nook, you sit next to him and call Ivy over.
  65. "Kids, 'fuck' is a very bad word, and Jasmine should not have used it."
  66. >Turning to Jasmine, you shoot her a sharp gaze like you were going to pummel her face in.
  67. "Jasmine, say you're sorry."
  68. >Looking surprised, Jasmine slowly walks up next to you.
  69. >"Uh... I'm... sorry?"
  70. >That'll have to work.
  71. >Looking over at the stove, you remember the spaghetti.
  72. "Time for spaghetti!"
  73. >This was probably the best thing you could do to change the subject.
  74. >Putting globs of spaghetti onto four plates, you bring them over to the table with the help of Jasmine.
  75. >Sitting around the table, you all start eating.
  76. "So, Ivy, Nook, why don't you tell us a bit about yourselves?"
  77. >Looking at Nook, he's stuffing his face with spaghetti.
  78. >Turning to Ivy, you raise an eyebrow.
  79. >"There's not really much to tell, we live here with our parents, and we go to school."
  80. "Hm... Would you like to hear about us?"
  81. >Swallowing her spaghetti, Ivy looks up at you.
  82. >"Sure, it's better than sitting here in silence."
  83. "Well, I'm in the royal guard, and Jasmine here mooches off of her parents."
  84. >Looking at you, Jasmine hits you.
  85. >"I do not!"
  86. >Stopping for a minute, Nook looks over to you.
  87. >"Did you say the royal guard?"
  88. "Why yes, I did."
  89. >Putting his front hooves on the table, Nook climbs onto the table, also managing to step in his own spaghetti as he scrambles over to you.
  90. >"What'sitlikepleasetellmeIlovetheroyalguardandIwanttobeonewhenIgrowupbecuasethey'resocoooooolandIwannafightbadguysjustlikeyouguys!"
  91. >Trying to get some breathing room, you push him back a bit.
  92. "Calm down, it's not all that great, just guarding the castle."
  93. >Settling down, Nook goes and sits back in his chair and continues eating the same spaghetti he stepped on.
  94. >After dinner, it was eight o'clock, and an hour until you had to put them to bed.
  95. >Maybe you all could play a board game?
  96. >Calling the others back into the room, you set the box on top of the table.
  97. "I thought we could all play this to pass the time."
  98. >Climbing onto a chair, Nook, reads the name on the box out loud.
  99. >"Ponopoly... What's that?"
  100. "It's a fun board game. Come on, let's play.
  101. >Sitting down, you begin to unbox the game.
  102.
  103. >Five minutes later.
  104.
  105. >Throwing the board into the air, Ivy turns towards Nook.
  106. >"You cheated!"
  107. >"No you!"
  108. >"Oh, now you're saying I cheated!"
  109. >"Yeah!
  110. >"Oh, yeah?"
  111. >"Yeah!"
  112. >Sensing there might be a fight coming soon, you believe now would be the best time to put the children to bed.
  113. "I think it's time for bed now."
  114. >Looking back at you the little bat ponies talk at the same time.
  115. >"But we don't want to!!!"
  116. >Sitting in their chair, they fold their arms and don't budge.
  117. >Turning towards Jasmine, you motion for her to get Nook.
  118. >Walking over to Ivy, you pick her up and slowly carry her to her room.
  119. >Slowly walking to her room, you look back and see Jasmine carrying Nook into his room.
  120. >Opening Ivy's door, you walk over to her bed and set her on it after pulling back the sheets.
  121. "I know it's a little early, but it's better to go to bed early, so you can wake up earlier the next morning."
  122. >"I'd rather sleep through the morning."
  123. >Laughing, you turn around.
  124. >This foalsitting thing isn't as hard as you thought.
  125. >Looking towards the doorway, you see Nook enter the room, and he's holding something.
  126. >Is he holding a rock?
  127. >BAM!
  128. >Falling on the floor, you rub your head.
  129. >Did he just throw that rock at you!?
  130. >Standing up you can feel a large bump forming on your forehead.
  131. "What the hay was that for!?"
  132. >"Nook! You knew that wouldn't be enough!"
  133. >Turning around to face Ivy, you see her holding wooden bat.
  134. "Wait, what's going on!?"
  135. >Raising the bat above her head, Ivy hits you on your head before you can react.
  136. >Falling onto the floor again, you feel yourself losing consciousness.
  137.
  138. -------------
  139.
  140. >Fluttering open, your eyes begin to adjust to the darkness.
  141. >What happened, and where are you?
  142. >Looking around, you appear to be in a dark room.
  143. >Night Watch seems to be in a chair next to you.
  144. "Hey, Night Watch."
  145. >Nothing.
  146. >Trying to move, you find yourself bound by rope.
  147. >So how'd you get here?
  148. >Last thing you remember is trying to put Nook to sleep, and then...
  149. >He hit you with his lamp.
  150. >Well that solves that mystery.
  151. >Hearing hoofsteps, you look up to see Nook and Ivy walking towards you.
  152. >These little brats put you here.
  153. >
