A Bat's Life - 1

>You pant heavily as you run down the walkways of Hollow Shades.

>Stealing a quick glance behind, you see your three pursuers.

>A red eyed bat pony with spiky hair wearing a cardigan, accompanied by his two friends.

>Oh, how you wish your tiny legs could run faster.

>Continuing to run, you pass many houses.

>All you had to do was get to your house, or at least near it.

>Your sister could help you, she usually does.

>Checking behind you again, you see them getting closer.

>Only a little bit more.

>You could already see your house.

>Pumping your legs as hard as you can, your legs ache.

>But you had to keep going, otherwise they'd catch you.

>Feeling one of your hoofs stop, you topple over, landing face first.

>You look up to not only see the uneven board that tripped you, but also the three bat ponies slowing down as they get closer to you.

>If you didn't get up, you were dead.

>As you try to scramble to your feet, you feel yourself get lifted up by your two forelegs.

>Oh no.

>You're as good as dead now.

>Wait, maybe if you played dead, they'd leave you alone.

>Letting yourself hang limp, you close your eyes and stick your tongue out of your mouth.

>"Look at this Ali! He's playing dead!"

>"I've told you a thousand times you idiot! My name is Alukardian!"

>Wow, these teenagers were even mean to each other.

>You open one of your eyes as you feel yourself being held up against something.

>Alukardian's buddies were holding you to a tree by your forelegs.

>Trying to break free, you kick and wriggle around, but it's no use.

>"What should we do to the faggot, boys?"

>Oh, Luna.

>How you hate it when they call you that.

>These teenagers cussed way too much.

"Don't call me that you big dumby!

>Alukardian laughs as he reaches behind you for something.

>He puts his hoof in your face to reveal he's holding a caterpillar.

>"I'm gonna make you pay for calling me that."

>What could he possibly do with a caterpillar?

>"Eat it."

"What!? Why!?"

>"Because I said so! Now eat it you little faggot."

>You'd never eaten a bug before.

>The only bat pony you know that eats bugs is Hekesuh, and he gets mocked for it.

>Everyone calls him Keekeesuh and makes fun of him for looking like a girl.

>You also don't want to hurt something as helpless as a caterpillar.

"N-no, you can't make me!"

>The caterpillar is shoved in your face as it wriggles around, touching your nose.

>D-did it just touch you?

>You let out a scream as you realize the creepy little thing just touched you.

>Seeing your mouth open, Alukardian drops the bug inside it.

>The caterpillar wiggles around as you try spit it out.

>As you try to open your mouth to set it free, Alukardian holds your snout shut with his hooves.

>"We're not letting you go until you eat it. One way or another!"

>"Ali, don't you think we should stop now? He looks like he's gonna cry."

>Letting go of your mouth for a second, Alukardian smacks the bat pony holding your left foreleg up.

>"We ain't leaving 'till he eats the bug."

>This caterpillar being in your mouth was getting unbarable.

>You guess the only way to get out of this was to swallow.

>"Oh shit, I think he's actually going to do it!"

>Slowly raising your head up a little, you swallow the bug, feeling it go down your throat as tears begin to form in your eyes.

>Feeling yourself drop on to the wooden boards, you look up to see Alukardian in your face.

>"Get wrecked, you little idiot!"

>He turns around as he bigns to walk away with his friends and makes one last remark as he turns a corner.

>"Remember the bug next time you want to trip me in the hallways."

>All this over a stupid accident.

>You weren't even the one who tripped him.

>It was all Night Watch, and she totally let you take the blame for it.

>You hang your head as you slowly walk home to meet your sister.

>As you near your house, you see your older sister sitting on the porch eating mangos.

>Jasmine was always nice to you, despite how terrible of a little brother you were to her.

>You loved her more than anything.

>Well, maybe you loved mangos more.

>Oh, and that pretty filly in your class with the gold eyes and dark blue hair.

>Noticing you, Jasmine hops off of your porch and rushes over to you.

>"What's wrong, Aux?"

>You look up at your little sister and hold back your tears.

"N-nothing."

>"Fine, at least have a mango though, that should cheer you up."

>With a smile, she leads you over to your porch where she offers you a mango.

>You could still taste the caterpillar in your mouth.

>A mango should help you.

>As you lean against you sister, you take a bite out of your mango.

>"I know something happened Aux, just tell me."

>You wipe your nose with your foreleg.

"F-fine... Alukardian and his friends held me against a tree and made me eat a caterpillar..."

>Your sister stands up with speed only comparable to that of the Wonderbolts.

>"THEY WHAT!?"

>Trying to calm down your sister, you tug on her coat.

"Please don't do anything sis, they'll just do worse stuff to me if you do!"

>Jasmine sighs as she sits back down.

>"You've got to learn to stand up for yourself Aux, I'm not going to be able to help you."

"It doesn't help they're five years older than me!"

>Jasmine takes another bite of her apple, getting the juices on her coat as she tries to wipe herself off.

>"I guess you're right Aux. Just try not to get into much trouble anymore."

>You hug your sister before you stand up to head inside.

"I promise I won't sis."

>Walking up to your room, you pass by the kitchen where your mother is cooking dinner.

"What's for dinner mom?"

>"Oh, just some guava cheese turnovers."

>Oh, those sounded so good!

>Running up the stairs, you go into your room and lock the door behind you.

>Time to get to work.

>You open your bottom left drawer and reach in a far as you can.

>As you feel what you've looking for, you pull it out, revealing a sheet of blue paper with white lines all over it.

>You stole it from your dad when he wasn't looking a month ago, and ever since, you've been working on your plan.

>This would help you get back at those dumb teenagers.

>You could get the rope from your dad, and you had buckets.

>All you needed to buy was some string and you were good.

>Sitting in the bush, you watched looked out at the exit of the school yard.

>It was late in the night, and everyone had gone home already.

>Except for Alukardian and his friends, who were serving detention.

>They hadn't turned in their homework for yet another time, which gave you a perfect oppurtunity.

>You slump back against the wall as you wait for them.

>Above you on top of the roof were three buckets full water you had gotten from a nearby swamp.

>Man, did that stuff smell horrible.

>You told you mom you were going to be late and you were helping out your teacher at school.

>She bought anything you told her.

>Mostly because you never lie to her.

>It felt so wrong to lie to her, but if you told her the truth, you wouldn't be here right now.

>Your thoughts are interupted when you hear the school door open.

>Poking your head over the bush, you see the last thing you'd ever want to see walking out of that door.

>Exiting the building was a little filly your age with golden eyes and dark blue hair.

>Echo.

>Followed by your teacher.

>Why was she at school this late?

>Maybe she was doing the exact same thing you lied to your mom about to be here?

>She always was helpful to the teachers.

>But you couldn't stop them now or the teacher would find out and you'd be in even more trouble.

>Best thing to do now was to leave, go home, and burn the blueprints.

>As you try to exit the bushes, you hear a large splash and look back to see Echo covered in swamp water, and your teacher standing behind her in shock.

>Welp, time to get out of here.

>Trying to exit the bush, you accidently knock into the bush, making it rustle.

>You try to run, but stop when you hear your teacher's voice.

>"Stop right there!"

>As you turn around, you see your teacher standing next to a crying Echo as she tries to comfort her.

>She looks back up at you she holds Echo, getting her own coat wet.

>"Get over here, right now!"

>You hang you head as you slowly walk over to her and Echo.

>This turned out to be a lot worse than you wanted.

>You liked Echo, she was one of the cutest fillies in your class, and you just dropped a bucket of swamp water on her.

>"Why would you do something like this?"

>You keep your head down as you grumble out a response.

>"I'm sorry, what was that?"

>As you sigh, you look up at your teacher.

"I-it wasn't meant for her. I wanted to d-drop it on Alukardian and his friends."

>Your teacher raises her eyebrow as Echo stops crying for a minute.

>"And why would you want do something like that?"

>You couldn't tell her what they did to you in front of Echo, she'd tell all the other fillies.

"I-I... I don't know."

>Your teacher stands up as she begins to lead Echo to her house.

>As she's walking away, she turns to you.

>"I guess you can think about it while you serve detention for the next two weeks."

>Wait...

>That means you'll be stuck with Alukardian in detention for two weeks!

>It also means you have to tell your mom that you're going to have to stay in detention.

>Plus, now Echo hates you!

>And she's probably gonna tell all the others about what you did.
