- What Does The Autumn Hold?
- (Im typing this shit out on word pad, lord help me)
- Even with the summer renewed, Elsa still felt as cold as the castle she left in the mountains. While Anna felt as if the story was done and it was clear sailings, she was not in charge of an entire country onto herself. Then, there was the implications of her very green kingdom already coming under attack from outside forces, writhing like maggots to get within. She was still unsure on how Anna was handling herself as well as she was. It was as if this had all been a dream and she had just woken up from a long rest. She danced without worry and mingled with the populace without any kind of recourse. Yet, Elsa moved like cold honey, not yet coming onto terms with all that happened in such a short time.
- Is this how its always going to be as Queen?
- Was war already on her door step?
- Then there was Anna...
- Elsa could not put a term on what she felt after seeing Anna leap infront of her, and suddenly vanish without her last breath fogging into the air, then scattering upon the wind. Hans's sword shattered upon her hand like glass, a sword blow ment for her very own skull, to tear her asunder and render him in complete rule of Arendelle... It was a feeling that ate away at her chest like a sickness and left her face hot like a fever. Even while decorating the palace in her magic and helping Anna skate, she couldnt quite look into Anna's eyes and meet her gaze. Again, Anna never seemed to notice, busying herself with Kristoff and working on the locals views of both her and Elsa.
- She sat in the main chamber on her throne, holding her head with her hand and running the fingers of her other hand along her braid. She brooded while watching the palace workers busy themselves. Hans had almost strolled into power with a fell swoop, not even needing an army or an assassin to make his bid for kingship. Then there was Weaselton, now spurned by her for their own assassination attempt upon the mountain where she almost came to lay forever. She had yet to hear back from the envoy she sent with Hans, nor did she know how his own family would react to their little lost prince and his self borne treachery. Elsa had to come to terms very quickly with the already brewing storm on the horizon; Many other kingdoms would see her magical powers as a challenge, or a weapon, and may seek to destroy her under their heels to make sure that she never has a chance to grow a foothold in their lands.
- War... the thought of war caused a rush to flow through her, causing icey tendrils to dance about her feet. She ran her toes in circles, working the designs about as she calculated the costs of raising an army, where to invade, what policies she would use, which allies she could count on. Elsa stood up and walked out of the throne room, walking along the portraits of kings and queens that came before. What would they do in this situation? Elsa had to protect her sister, the only family she had left in this word. It was made very evident how fragile that family was, and how quickly it could be severed, lost forever to the cold stretches of time. She continued down the hall, her eyes meeting the paintings. Arendelle had been a place of trade, sharing in the profits of war without ever shedding a single drop of blood. Was Arendelle strong enough to wage war on its enemies? If she didnt have a show of force, would more assassins come into her lands? Would more people like Hans try to steal away her sister in order to sate their own lust for power?
- Anna... Anna still deeply troubled Elsa. She was handling this all too well, as if the fact she was turned into a icey lawn ornament didnt trouble her in the slightest. She seemed fond of Kristoff, already delving into the kingdoms coffers to replace the sled she combusted while they ran from wolves. Elsa traveled deeper down the hall to where her parents own portrait hung, sitting herself on the bench infront of them. Would her own parents agree with her? Would they have supported her ideas of taking up the sword and taking ice to her enemies?
- "Its hard to believe they are gone, isnt it?" Anna asked, walking up behind Elsa quietly.
- Elsa jumped and stood, turning to her sister. She ran her fingers through her hair as she struggled to force words out of her mouth. "Y-yes... yes it is." Elsa looked into her sisters eyes, the sudden memory of her eyes void of life causing anger to rise in her chest, the air about the two of them glittering with the faintest shimmers of ice.
- "Mother told me to watch after you... She would never say why." Anna sat down on the bench, folding her hands in her lap and looking up at their long gone parents. "I always guessed it was because you never came out of your room much. Mom would always say you were troubled, and different... I would beg her for days to tell me why, but she never would. She was just say it was for your best interests, and would stroke my white lock of hair."
- Anna looked up at Elsa. " I know we have to put this behind us... but i always wanted to help you, even on the mountain, Why were yo-" Anna was interuppted by Elsa as a tear slowly slid down her cheek. Anna stood up and quickly grabbed her sister into an embrace, Elsa burrowing her face in her sister's shoulder while the tears poured freely. Elsa held fast onto Anna, the only solid thing in her life, the only true important thing to her... the only thing she loved.
- Anna ran her free hand through Elsa's hair as she shed her tears, whispering into her ear that everything would be okay. After some time Elsa pulled her face away, rubbing at her cheeks with the back of her hand while she sniffed away at the sorrow. She let out a soft, short laugh as she wiped away her tears.
- "Not really the face of a warmongering Queen, wouldnt you say?" Elsa croaked out, tabbing at her eyes with the sleeve of her dress.
- "Warmongering?" Anna asked, pulling up the skirt of her own dress and wiping at the running make up on Elsa. "Who exactly are you planning to wage war on? Hans is on the ship home and was acting alone! Why would we march off to war?" She asked worridly, holding her hands to her sister's cheeks.
- Elsa placed her hands over her sisters, looking into her eyes. "We have been challenged. Not just one, but two of our once friendly neighbors have made an assassination attempt on not only me, but you, Anna." Elsa place her forhead on her sisters, whispering. "I cant risk losing you again." Elsa Looked up into Annas eyes. "The world will freeze before i ever let that happen again."
