Title: A Special Kind of Love (AnonxCoffee) Author: Friendly_Writefriend Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/uLbjBmTi First Edit: Friday 12th of February 2016 01:04:22 AM CDT Last Edit: Last edit on: Friday 4th of March 2016 10:17:07 PM CDT >A light breeze tugs at the hem of your loungewear coat as you gaze out over the expanse of your estate, watching as Celestia's sun slowly drops down over the horizon to paint the sky in a brilliant pallete of reds, pinks, and magentas. >Soon enough, those bright hues would fade to dark violets, then black, and Luna's moon would take over the vigil of the night sky, along with its consort of stars. >But for now, it was just you, and the sunset. >And the sound of hoof-steps on granite from behind. >A soft, feminine voice cuts the evening silence. >"Your drink, Mister Ymous." >You turn to smile the pony who had walked up to you, Coffee Cream, as you gingerly took up the glass the pegasus had brought balanced apon a tray on his wing. "Thank you, Miss Cream. And I've told you numerous times before to just call me Anon. You know me better than that." >Coffee had been your most steadfast friend in the five years since you had arrived on Equestria. >Not only was he/she your best friend, but Coffee had also proven to be a capable assistant in your rise through the financial power structure of Equestria, and a darn cute maid to boot. >Coffee was incredibly petite for a stallion, and at first glance could easily pass for a mare. >The only real betrayal of gender was the muzzle, but even that was cutesy and convincingly feminine. >In fact, he rather seemed to enjoy being referred to as a 'she,' of which you had made a habit of doing so. >It always seemed to bring a blush to his cheeks. >Coffee's coat gleamed in the sunset light, his white fur picking up the red hues in the places his maid outfit left exposed as he tilted his head and smiled back up to you. >His eyes were what transfixed you the most. >A deep, bright green that shone with the light filtering through a mid-summer forest. >His two-tone bob cut mane bounced airily in the breeze. >"And you know I've told you to call me Coffee, Anon." >You chuckle at that. "That I do, Coffee.." >As you turn back to the railing of the balcony outside your master bedroom, you pat the bar next to you, letting him know that you wanted him to come watch the skies with you. >Without hesitation, Coffee canters beside you, placing his hooves up on the railing beside you as you watch as the first stars of the night start to dot the skies. >Absentmindedly, you glance at the amber contents of the tumbler in your hand before taking a small sip. >Damn if he didn't know how to pour a good drink, even if a single shot of whiskey on the rocks is impossible to get wrong. >A small sigh of pleasure escapes you as the alcohol works its way into your systems, relaxing the fatigue and stresses of the day away. >You glance over at Coffee, moving your free hand to rest upon the hoof of your friend. "It's almost hard to believe that it's been five years already, Coffee..." >The feminine stallion blushes crimson at your touch and words. >"It's felt like a lifetime, Anon." >It was a day you both remembered well.   -Five Years Prior-   >You had just spent the past six months in the time since your arrival in Equestria figuring out what you wanted to make of yourself. >Well, technically, the first two months were spent doing that. >After two months of getting acquainted with the locals, making some new friends, and just generally getting used to your new life in this wondrous land, you felt you needed to make your mark on the world. >And so after three days of hard thinking (and almost harder drinking), you finally settled on a plan. >Equestria had a smattering of banks, but none of them were centralized. >You would change that. >You drew up the plans. >Spent a whole day going over what you would say to sell the idea. >You even got Twilight to get you an audience with Princess Celestia to pitch your plan. >You pinned all of your hopes on selling it. >And sell it you did. >You went over EVERYTHING. >The cost of constructing the bank branches, how many you would open in a year. >You had a 'roadmap' of what the state of the bank would be five years from that point. >The princess was impressed, to say the least. >As she gave her endorsement for the project, she also hinted that were the main building constructed under budget, you could see fit to use the excess budget for whatever you saw fit. >And so you oversaw every last detail of the construction, eliminated inefficiencies where you saw them, and saw your pet project through to completion. >The main bank was to be located in Canterlot for symbolic reasons, and through your ministrations, the construction was completed ahead of schedule and under budget, with a sizable amount for you to do whatever you wanted with. >So you built an estate with the excess, zoning the construction on a hill not far from Ponyville, in the exact spot where Twilight and her friends had found you when you arrived in Equestria. >While the estate wasn't entirely extravagant, it was still more opulent an abode than one would find around Ponyville. >And once your manse was complete, you needed staff for it. >And that brought you into town to post an advertisement on the village bulletin board, six months to the date after your arrival in Equestria. >You tacked up the note and turned away, a small, confident grin spread across your face. >Everything was going your way, and it was only going to get better. >And then you saw him, sitting on a bench, head in his hooves. >You frowned when you noticed that he was crying to himself. >Of course, at the time, you had thought he was a she. >He *was* wearing a dress, to be fair. >And his soft, feminine cries didn't help dissuade you from that image. >And so you had decided to sit down next to him to try and help. >The pony's sobs quietened as you sat. >Well, at least he was aware you were there. >You sat there a while, at a lot for words, unsure how to best proceed. >To hell with it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. "Hi there." >The stallion's cries had stopped, with faint sniffles the only real sign he had been crying as he replied to your greeting. >"H-hello." "My name is Anon. What's yours?" >The pony lifted his head from his hooves, and from the side, you could see the shape of his muzzle, confirming his gender. >And when he turned to meet your eyes, you were taken in by his own. >Those bright green eyes that drew you in and refused to let go, with a small smile that failed to detract from them, no matter how sad the smile was. >"I'm Coffee. Coffee Cream." >You can't help but smile. "Well, Miss Cream. It's a pleasure to meet you." >The cute little pony next to you blushed a deep pink under his white coat. >"Th-thank you.." >You rack your mind for an idea, something to keep things moving. >Then it came to you. "Would you like to visit for a cup of tea for a while, Miss Cream?" >Coffee's ears had perked up at your offer, and his head tilted as he considered. >His smile brightened as he answered, "That would be nice, yes, please." >You had smiled back in return as you stood, offered your hand to help the stallion to his hooves. "I must let you know, it's.. a fair bit of a walk to my home, Miss Cream." >"Coffee. You can call me Coffee." >The stallion giggled softly, his eyes sparkling. >"So formal." >The pony's straightforwardness had disarmed you, and you tugged at the collar of your suit. "Yes.. well.." >As you walked with the stallion through the streets of Ponyville, you couldn't help but share 'everything' with him. >What happened when you first arrived in Equestria. >What things had been like for you in your old life. >What you planned on doing now. >And Coffee just ate it all up, his interest completely wrapped up in what you had to say. >You learned some things about your new friend as well. >The poor thing had just been ridiculed for no other reason than being a stallion wearing a dress. >Not that this was a first time thing for him. >In fact, he had often been teased for it. >But, it always felt natural for him, so he did it anyway, despite the funny looks, the names behind his back. >You had frowned when he finished his story.
