The Roseluck Chronicles Chapter 6: All Good Things

Part 1:Looking Back

>Come on, just calm down

>How can you just be calm?

>Especially in a situation like this

>You pace the room back and forth

>Your chest feels tight and your breathing is short

>Anon, you need to calm down; it isn’t that big of a deal!

>Wrong this is huge; this is the biggest thing you’ll ever deal with.

>Maybe if you sit down

>As you take a seat in the chair, you realize it is a big mistake

>Now that you’re less focused on walking; you are now more focused on today

>You grow weak and sick to your stomach

>You head ache returns and start to pound inside your brain

>You immediately stand up again and start pacing

>You look down at the note cards in your hands

>Why does your writing looks so small now?

>Your hands begin to shake

>The cards fall one by one to the ground

>You are not prepared for this

>Your body is not ready…

>Your mouth runs dry

>Oh god

>You rush over to a trash can in the corner

>You retch violently into it

>The smell of strong alcohol mixed with bile causing you to just hurl more

>You finish emptying your stomach and quickly search the room for something to clean yourself up.

>you slowly wipe the mess from your face

>Think about something else

>Anything

>Fine let’s review…

>In a magical event felt across the world; ponies arrived on Earth…

>This event was met with surprise and confusion

>But overall most people adjusted quickly to the new visitors

>That same night, you would save one of the ponies from a dumpster

>Roseluck…

>You would take her home and give her a place to stay

>As the days marched on you slowly taught her about humanity

>And in return she taught you about Equestria

>You both became friends

>At the time you didn’t think anything of your friendship

>But something grew between you

>These feelings would eventually come to a head

>One night at a dance

>She expressed her feelings and you pushed her away

>She ran from you and you quickly gave chase

>It was in this moment that you came to terms with your own feelings for this pony

>You were able to see past all the difference and found love

>That same night she told you about the truth

>Her world destroyed, her people displaced, alone in this world

>But no longer

>That night…

>You stop for a moment to dwell on that time

>Reliving every kiss, every touch, every sound

>Save it for later…

>Where were you

>A few months later would come the next most important day

>It was hearts and hooves day for the ponies

>Valentine’s Day for humans

>The day you gave Rose a garden

>And asked for only one thing in return

>Her hoof in marriage

>She agreed making you the happiest man in the world

>But this event would make for its own complications

>The day came when you and Rose agreed to tell your parents about your engagement

>Through a series of hilarious and unfortunate event

>The situation came to a boil

>Your father would disown you as a son

>Your sister became good friends with Rose

>Your mother became a wild card that your sister insisted she could convince to accept us

>Later that same day you came close to losing Rose

>But you quickly reminded her of your love and promised her things would get better

>Time has passed

>Which leads to today

>Today

>…

>You feel yourself grow weak again

>Well that didn’t help at all

>Just as you are thinking about making a break for it a knock comes at the door

>You answer it

>Rob stands on the other side of the door way

>Smiling from ear to ear

>The tux he wears matches your own

>A rose sits in his lapel

>Seeing you, his smile fades from his face

“Dude, you look like shit.”

>”Thanks for the obvious, something wrong?”

“Well it is almost show time; I came to check up on the big star!”

“From the looks of things I am glad I did.”

>He enters into the room

>He looks at the trash can on the floor

“No surprise there, you did have a lot to drink last night…”

>”I can’t do this.”

“What? Nonsense! You’ll be fine!”

>”No, I’m serious, I can’t do this.”

>Rob sighs and shakes his head

“I know all about pregame jitter man, but you need to get over that and just remind yourself of the important things.”

>”Help me…”

“There is a beautiful pony on there who is expecting you to perform. She is just as nervous as you are.”

“I’d actually be willing to bet more so judging from the way that Daisy, Lilly and Lyra are running around.”

>This brings a slight smile to your face

“There we go, you’re feeling better already.”

>He walks over and fills a paper cup with water and hands it to you

“Drink this, man up, and let’s get this show on the road.”

>Your hands still shake as you take the glass and drink it

>You knees feel weak as you stand up and follow Rob out of the room

>Why are you so nervous?

>It’s only your wedding day…

Part 2: The Other Side

>Calm

>Why am I so calm?

>Roseluck stares into the mirror

>Her image in a wedding gown stares back

>The image almost looks surreal

>She slowly turns to lyra sitting in the corner

“You look great.”

>Roseluck pauses for a second

>”How did you know what I was going to ask?

“You have already asked me 5 times.”

“Next you’re going to ask if anon will like it…”

>”Do you think he will?”

>Lyra sighs

>She gets up out of her chair and walks over to Rose

“He’s going to love it. You need to calm down.”

>”But, I am calm that’s the problem”

>Roseluck sighs again

>It doesn’t make sense I should be fluster right now

>Making sure everything is going off without a hitch

>But all of the pieces were falling into place

>Anon and her friends had made sure all the planning had gone smoothly

>Speaking of her friends…

>”Lyra, where did Lily and Daisy run off to?”

“Hmm, I believe that they just checking a few final things.”

>”Ok, I just hope they aren’t causing a ruckus, I don’t want anyp0ny getting the wrong idea.”

>Roseluck turns to admire the dress again

>Rarity had done a great job

>It was a plain white dress with a wreath of roses on top of her head holding the veil

>Rarity had said something about wishing for more gemstones to put on the dress

>But the plainness of the dress suited her just fine

>It said something about simplicity

>She sighs again

“He’s going to love it, I promise”

>Rose giggles at Lyra’s insistence

>Just then Lily and Daisy walk into the room giggling

>Both were already in their brides maid dresses

>Simple red dresses styled like roses

>Lyra turns to them as they enter

“Everything ok ladies?”

>Daisy speaks up

“Everything is perfect”

>Lily joins in

“We were just talking about the party last night…”

>They both giggle again

>Roseluck smiles remembering the events last night

>Lyra had thrown her a very nice bachelorette party

>”Yes, thank you Lyra, the party was great.”

>Lily speaks up again

“What did you think about that stallion last night?

“He seemed like he took a particular interest in you…”

>Roseluck blushes at the thought

>There had been a stallion at the bar they went to last night

>He got very friendly with everp0ny at the party

>”He was nice, but Anon is my stallion.”

Lily continues

“I don’t know why you are marrying this human anyways, seems a little weird.”

>”How can you say that? Anon has been nothing but great with me.”

“I’m just saying that anyp0ny would draw less attention.”

>”But, anon isn’t like everyp0ny. He sees past everything. Lyra understands.”

>Lyra looks surprised at the mention but smiles anyways.

“Rose is right; some humans are just as good if not better than somep0nies.”

 “You both are still a little weird for doing this.”

>Roseluck tries to keep her composure

>She realizes that she has chosen probably the hard path

>But it is the path that she loves the most

 >”I hope Anon is doing alright”

>Lyra puts a hoof around Rose for reassurance

“Robert is with him, I’m sure Anon is handling this just fine…”

Part 3:Unexpected Guest

>You follow Rob down the hallway and out of the building

>The garden outside is beautiful in full bloom

>There is where the wedding will take place

>You are glad that you and Rose had settled on an outside wedding

>But then again it was only going to get hotter as the sun rises into the air

>Off in the distance you can hear the distant buzzing of cicadas in the summer breeze

>It won’t be long until the start of the wedding

>But you have some time o go around and greet a few guests

>Not that there are many to greet anyways

>The guest list was very small 

>Close friends and family

>You meet a few ponies that you haven’t met before

>You say hello to a few humans from your side that decided to show up

>Some colleagues from work, a few friends from school, and you mother and sister.

>…

>Mom?

>You immediately stop in your tracks when you glimpse your mother and sister sitting near the front

>You rush over and give your mother and sister a hug

>”Mom, I thought…”

>You feel your mother squeeze you tightly in the hug

“I know anon, I’m so sorry about everything.”

>”Its ok mom, I understand, what about dad is he here?”

>You feel her grip loosen as she pulls away from your embrace

>The look on her face is somber

“You father is still…”

>You nod before she can finish

>”I understand, Dad can be stubborn at times.”

>Deep inside the thought of your dad sitting at home alone pains you

>He choose this, he doesn’t want to be here to share this day with you and the rest.

>His loss

>You put on a happy face for your mom

>”Rose is going to be so happy you’re here.”

>Your mother only nods

>For some reason you think that she still hasn’t fully accepted it yet.

>At least she showed up to support you

>That’s what counts right

>You turn to your sister, who is absolutely beaming

“Told you I could it bro.”

>”Thanks sis, I really appreciate it.”

>You feel a hand on your shoulder

“Let’s go bro, it’s time for the main event!”

>You give another hug to your mother and sister before leaving

>You stand at the front of the small audience

>You swallow hard as your nerves rise up once again

>The music starts to play

Part 4: Vows

>You stand next to the Pony minister with your best man Rob by your side

>The wedding procession begins

>First comes the brides mares, Lily and Daisy

>Next comes the Mare of Honor, Lyra

>Finally the doors open and your heart skips a few beats

>There is you bride to be, Rose

>Beautiful as ever

>She slowly walks down the aisle towards you

>as she approaches you kneel down to her height and smile

>she smiles back at you lovingly

>The minister clears his throat and begins

“Fillies and Gentlecolts, Ladies and Gentlemen; We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Roseluck and Anon Y Mous.”

“This couple before you today proves that our species, while different, are in many ways the same”

“We are both capable of understanding and feeling love for one another and are able to live in harmony.”

“The betrothed have decided to forgo traditional wedding vows and write their own personal messages for each other.”

>The minister turns to you and nods

>You take a deep breath and begin

>”My dear Rose, it has been almost a year since we first met. It was the night that all the ponies came to Earth. I didn’t know it then, but everything would change.”

>”The following day, I made you a promise, to help you. It would be the first of many promises I would make to you.”

>”Today I make more promises, and just like the one before, I will keep these.”

>”I promise to love you with all my heart; from now until the end, no matter what the future holds. It is the best promise I can make to you Rose. It is one I will keep.”

>The minister turns to Rose and nods

>Rose turns to you and stares deeply into your eyes and starts

“My sweet Anon, when I arrived here, I was so confused and lost. You found me and helped me in my greatest time of need.”

“For those first few weeks, the only things that occupied my mind was trying to get back home to Equestria.”

“As time went on, I slowly started to fell in love, and those thoughts soon disappeared. I soon realized that being sent here might not be all bad.”

“Now I look back, and I see that this is now my home, I am where I belong, by your side; for as long as we are together, I promise to be with you and love you.”

>The minister smiles and looks to Lyra and Rob

“The tokens please.”

>Rob nods and pulls out a jeweled rose and hands it to you

>Lyra nods and levitates a ring in front of rose

“Repeat after me Anon, ‘With this I make you my wedded wife.’”

>”With this I make you my wedded wife.”

>With those words you place the jewel into Rose’s hair

“Repeat after me Rose, ‘With this I make you my wedded husband.’”

“With this I make you my wedded husband”

>Rose nods to Lyra you levitates the ring onto your finger.

“I now pronounce you, Husband and Wife. You make kiss your bride.”

>You lean forward and kiss your bride

End of Part 4

 

Part 5: Endings and Beginnings

>The wedding is over

>The reception was a small affair

>A nice dinner with family and friends

>You and rose shared a few dances

>It was no surprise when Lyra ended up catching Rose’s bouquet

>The look on Rob’s face was priceless

>You both left the reception for a quiet spot in the country

>A little out of the way place where you can spend of some time alone

>Late that night you both sit under the night sky and stare up at the stars

“This is perfect.”

>Rose leans against your shoulder and sighs

“So where do we go from here?”

>That actually a pretty good question

>You still are working for the same business you have been

>You still live in the same apartment

>Maybe it’s time for a change

>”I have a few ideas, don’t worry. It will be great.”

“I’m not worried; I know we will be fine.”

>You stare off into the night sky

>Only time will tell where you shall end up

>But you have all the time in the world

>With her by your side…
