- Part 1:A Special Project
- >”It’s perfect”
- >You star down at the object in the box
- >It had better be perfect, you’re paying a lot for it…
- >The store clerk smiles
- “I’m glad you find it satisfactory sir. She must be one special girl.”
- >You smile
- >”You could say that.”
- >You walk out of the shop into the February chill
- >Your thoughts drift to the past few months
- >Much to your dismay, the winter had been mild.
- >There was relatively no snow
- >But, this had worked to you advantage
- >The mild days allowed you to work on a special project
- >That including the package you just picked up was for Rose
- >The special somep0ny in your life
- >Speaking of ponies, there was little news about them anymore
- >The truth has still yet to be revealed
- >It was probably for the best
- >Although one day the rest of the world will know about the destruction of Equestria
- >The rest of the ponies had settled and have been making a life for themselves on Earth
- >Even better, they seem to have a positive effect.
- >A lot that was negative for this world seems to be disappearing
- >The appearance of the ponies was indeed for the better of Earth
- >Your thoughts have carried you to your next destination
- >A local flower shop
- >As you enter you see a familiar pony working behind the counter
- >She is facing away for the counter arranging a few flowers
- >You approach the counter and clear your throat
- >”Excuse me miss, I need to place an order for a dozen red roses.”
- >The pony behind the counter doesn’t turn around
- “Mmm, A dozen red roses, must be for somep0ny special”
- >You chuckle
- >”She is wonderful…
- >”She has the most beautiful green eyes and this pink silky mane”
- >She giggles a bit
- “She sounds lovely, do I know her?”
- >”You may, she also works at a flower shop like this one.”
- >Rose turns around
- “You always know the way to my heart, Anon.”
- >”I have to, you are my special somep0ny”
- >You lean over the counter and give Rose a brief kiss.
- “You really need to stop this while I’m at work”
- >”You’re hardly ever home on the weekends anymore…”
- “I know, but Hearts and Hooves day is always busy; I promise some more time after the holiday.”
- >You smile
- >”Good, what do you want for dinner tonight?”
- >She frowns a bit
- ”Im going to be home late, please don’t wait up from me…”
- >”Are you sure? It would be no problem at all.”
- “I’m sure, have a good day…”
- >She quickly turns back to her work
- >You leave the flower shop
- >It’s great that rose can get some time in at work…
- >But it meant less time together
- >Thankfully though, her being away has given you time for the project
- >Over the recent months Rose has seemed rather sad
- >When you questioned her about it she always said it was nothing
- >But you finally got it out of her
- >She missed her garden
- >More so she missed the chance to grow flowers
- >She said she felt like it was a part that she was missing
- >You then remembered something that your landlord, Mr. Williams had once said
- >Back when you first signed the lease he mentioned an old green house on the roof that no one used
- >Later that day you question Mr. Williams again about it
- >He said it was free to use to any of the residence
- >He reminded you that it had fallen into some disrepair
- >It was up to anyone who used it to repair it
- >That weekend, while Rose was at work you investigated the Greenhouse
- >There was a little shed and as glass house up there alright
- >The shed needed some patching on the room
- >And some panes of glass needed to be replaced
- >It was going to be a project
- >But if you worked hard you would be able to have it done in time for Valentine’s day
- >You have a few more repairs to complete, but you were finally almost finished
- >One week before Valentines
- >You hoped that Rose would like it and she would be able to use it
- >Although you had no doubts about it
- >She said she could grow anything
- >When you got home, you made sure to place the package into a safe place
- >It was the other part of Roses Valentine’s Day surprise
- >And it was also the only part you were worried about
- >You head up to the top of the apartment building to finish up work on the greenhouse
- >Nearly finished, just needed to replace one last panel of glass
- >After a little work you step back and take a look at it
- >It had been a true labor of love
- >It was now complete
- >All that was left was Rose’s flowers
- >You head down stairs and prepare yourself dinner
- >Ignoring her statement, you fix up a salad for Rose
- >You leave a note on the counter about her dinner in the fridge you get ready for bed
- >You lay there quietly difting in and out of sleep waiting for rose to come back
- >Eventually you hear the door unlock
- >The quiet hoof steps indicate that she is trying to make sure not to wake you
- >You hear a quiet sigh come from the kitchen followed by the opening to the fridge
- >Good she found the note
- >You listen to her eat in silence and then quietly trot into the bedroom
- >She slowly gets into to bed next to you trying to not wake you
- >Even though you are already awake
- >As she lays down next to you; you slowly put your arms around her drawing her close
- >She sighs again as she relaxes into your body
- “You didn’t have to make me the salad”
- “Or wait up for me”
- >You chuckle and give her a kiss on the neck
- >”What kind of man would I be, if I didn’t take care of my special somep0ny?”
- >She sighs again
- “I love you, my stallion.”
- >”I love you too, Rose.”
- End of Part 1
- Part 2: A Meeting with a Friend
- >Another day at school
- >Another day closer to Valentines
- >You just left your Economics Class and about to go on lunch
- >You feel a tap on the shoulder
- >When you turn around you discover Robert is standing behind you
- “Hey Anon, what’s up?”
- >You smile, ever since that night at the dance you and Rob have become pretty good friends
- >”Nothing much Rob, just about to get some lunch, do you want to join?”
- “Sure, I have sometime before my next class”
- >You both head off to the campus café
- >Sitting down at one of the inside table you begin to discuss how things have been going
- >”So Rob, how are thing between you and lyra?”
- “Lyra? Things are fine I’m hoping on getting some alone time with here this weekend.”
- >”Yeah same thing between me and Rose.”
- >”What kind of plans do you have for Valentines anyways?”
- >He shrugs a bit
- “Nothing special, a quiet dinner at home, maybe curl up on the couch for a nice movie.”
- “Nothing to extravagant.”
- “What about you and Rose.”
- >”I have the exact opposite in mind for Rose.”
- “Oh? Do tell…”
- >“Well, as you know Rose works at the florist shops, and one of their busiest days is Valentines.”
- >“So, I have nothing planned for that day, but the next night I have a nice dinner at a great restaurant.”
- >“Its supposed to be one of the places that a pony started, they cater to both human and ponies, so I think that she will like it.”
- >“Afterwords I’ll take her home, and show her a special project I have been working on.”
- >”Over the winter I have been fixing up a greenhouse that sits on top of our apartment building.”
- >”She has been talking about how she wishes she could be gardening lately you see.”
- >”So I thought that maybe this will help with that.”
- >He nods
- “Seems like you have a big night planned”
- >”Yeah, but that’s not the best part.”
- >”After I show her the greenhouse, I’m going to give her this.”
- >You pull a small box out of your pocket
- >You started keeping the present on you after Rose nearly discovered it while help you clean.
- >You open the box and show it to Rob
- >He lets out a low whistle
- “Wow! That sure is something! I’m sure she’ll love it.”
- >”I know she’ll love it. I just hope that she’ll accept it.”
- “Why wouldn’t she accept it? I mean it’s not like…”
- >It suddenly dawns on him
- “Anon, what are you thinking?”
- >”I know it hasn’t been that long, but me and Rose are prefect for each other.”
- >”She makes me feel like no one has ever made me feel.”
- >”I can’t let her just slip away.”
- >Rob leans back in his chair
- “I remember a time when you nearly broke a pony’s heart just on the basis of her being a pony.”
- >”That was then, this is now.”
- >Rob chuckles and shakes his head.
- “If you feel like you are ready then man, go ahead and best of luck to you.”
- >”Thanks man.”
- End of Part 2
- Part 3: The Big Night
- >Before you know realize, it is Valentine’s Day.
- >Rose is working late again
- >Even though you and rose have a nice evening planned for tomorrow
- >You still feel like doing something nice
- >Earlier you get a dozen roses and make a small nice dinner
- >You are sitting on the couch when she walks through the door
- >You get up as she enters and start to help her with her coat
- >She looks at the table and sighs
- “You waited up, made dinner, and got me flowers…”
- “How did I get this lucky?”
- >”If you tell me how I got so lucky, I’ll tell you.”
- >She giggles and gives you a hug and a kiss
- >You both walk over and have a quiet meal together.
- >After the dinner you clean up while Rose gets ready for bed
- >When you walk into the bed room you she is already in bed waiting for you
- >You crawl into bed and pull her close
- “Thank you for the dinner, it was nice.”
- >”Just wait for tomorrow night. It will be better.”
- >She sighs and snuggles into your body
- >The heat of her body presses against you
- >You breathe in deeply and inhale the smell of roses
- >You slowly drift off to sleep with her in your arms
- >You are slow to wake the next morning
- >You are roused by the smell of coffee
- >You quickly realized that Rose isn’t lying next to you anymore
- >As you gradually wake up you hear the sound of someone singing
- >Not someone, somep0ny
- >You get up out of bed and make your way into the kitchen
- >You see Rose by the stove looking like she is trying to make some eggs
- >However you stove isn’t exactly made for a pony
- >She turns around and sees you staring at her
- >She smiles at you
- “I was trying to make some breakfast for us”
- >She giggles
- “I’m having a bit of a tough time though”
- >You chuckle
- >”Here, let me help, before you burn down the whole complex”
- >Between you and Rose you finish up breakfast and sit down and start eating
- >She looks across the table at you
- “So what exactly are the plans for tonight anyways?”
- >”I guess I can let you in on some of it.”
- >”We are going out to dinner tonight, after words, I was thinking a quiet evening watching a movie together.”
- >She smiles at you
- “Oh is that all?”
- >”Would it be any fun if I told you everything?”
- >She shakes her head and continues to eat her breakfast
- >The rest of the day passes by normally
- >As the time grows closer to the dinner you and Rose start to get dressed
- >You were a nice shirt and tie combo
- >Rose wears a simple dress
- >”You look beautiful”
- >She smiles shyly at you
- ”Thank you and you look as handsome as ever.”
- >You open the door out of the apartment and escort her down to the streets
- >You hail a cab and head off to the restaurant
- >After a short ride you arrive at the restaurant
- >She smiles at you as you get out of the cab
- “I’ve wanted to eat here since this place opened.”
- >”I know, I hope the food is as good as they say it is.”
- >Inside you see most of the customers are ponies
- >In fact most of workers are ponies also
- >The restaurant seems to be built to accommodate ponies
- >As you and rose are seated you take a look over the menu
- >It’s a mostly vegan menu fit for both humans and ponies
- >There are a few specialty meal made for ponies
- >You don’t think that a daisy salad sound particularly tasty.
- >You order a regular salad and Rose orders a lily salad
- >The atmosphere here is nice; a good combination of human and pony taste
- >You and Rose share a nice quiet dinner together
- >After the dinner you and rose start making your way back to the apartment
- >Rose starts questioning you about the rest of the night
- “Come on, you need to tell me what next.”
- >You smile slyly
- >”You are just going to have to wait until we get back to the apartment”
- “Can you at least tell me what movie you have planned.”
- >You nod
- >”We are going to watch your favorite”
- >Her smiles grows broad and she wrap her arms around you again
- >”But that is after the surprise”
- >You arrive back at the apartment
- >You and Rose start you climb up to the apartment
- >As you get to your landing you continue your way up
- >Rose gives you a strange look but follows you anyways
- >Down inside the pocket of your pants you feel the box gaining wait
- >You nerves begin to build and your hands shake a little
- >Don’t worry, it’ll all be fine…
- >At least you hope so…
- >You continue to climb until you reach the doorway to the roof
- >You wait for Rose to join you before you continue onto the roof
- >Rose take a quick look around and then looks at you in puzzlement
- “It’s a great view Anon, but what is the surprise”
- >You walk over and stand next to greenhouse
- >”I know its not a proper garden, but at least here you can grow some flowers.”
- >”I checked with the landlord. No one else has ever used this. I have been building it through the winter.”
- >You smile at Rose
- >Rose looks surprised beyond words
- >She looks between you and the greenhouse
- “You rebuilt this, for me? So I can grow flowers?”
- >She looks like she is almost on the verge of tears
- >She trots over to you and throws herself into your arms
- “Anon, how can I ever thank you? This is the best thing anyp0ny could have ever gotten me.”
- >You pull her into a tight hug
- >”I’m glad you like it Rose, I can’t wait to see the flowers you will grow”
- >After a long hug she lets go and admires the greenhouse some more
- >Well, here we go, time for the leap…
- >”Rose…?”
- >She turns around and looks at you. A smile still locked on her face.
- >”There is one more thing I have for you.”
- >She smiles
- “What more can a pony ask for from her special somep0ny?”
- >You swallow hard before continuing
- >”Rose, ever since you came into my life, you have changed me.”
- >”Work became more bearable and so did school.”
- >”You showed me that love can transcend between species”
- >”You have shown me what it is like to be truly loved.”
- >”And I don’t think I can live without that in my life.”
- >Somewhere in the middle of the speech your brain had shut off
- >You find yourself on one knee with the box in your outstretched hand
- >You reach up and begin to open the box.
- >”Roseluck, will you marry me?”
- End of Part 3
- Part 4: Acceptance
- >Roseluck stares at you with her mouth agape
- >This is yet another instance that time slows down
- >The shocked expression on her face seems to freeze
- >You begin to question if you made the wrong decision
- >Was it too soon?
- >Should have I even asked?
- >Maybe it’s the rose…
- >In your mind you examine the object in your hands
- >You didn’t know a thing about Equestrian marrages.
- >You assumed at since ponies didn’t have fingers they didn’t wear rings
- >So you got a little creative with it
- >Some may call it an elaborate hair clip
- >But really it is something to wear in Roses mane
- >Its shaped like a rose, off course
- >A diamond in the center of red gemstones
- >With two little golden leaves at the edge
- >This is the object that you presented to Rose
- >Time slowly moves on
- >You hear her trying to form a complete sentence
- “I…I really… what do I say?”
- >”Well an answer would be nice…”
- >”Hopefully a yes.”
- >The last few words are enough to break her out of her shocked state
- >The expression on her face changes automatically
- >A smile slowly keeps across her lips and tears well up in her eyes
- >She throws her front hooves around your neck
- “Oh Anon! Yes, I’ll marry you!”
- >Tears roll down her face and being to soak your shoulder
- >Her whole body shakes as she clenches you tightly in a hug
- >You can feel your body shaking as well as you chuckle slightly; a broad smiles permanently affixed to you face.
- >As you break the hug you see Rose stare at you
- >Her eyes full of wonder, tear streaked cheeks, and a broad smile
- >Your hands shake as you take the small ornate rose and place it into her hair
- >She giggles and pulls you into another hug
- “It’s beautiful, I love it!”
- >”I’m glad, you had me scared for a bit there…”
- >She giggles again in your arms
- “You know you had nothing to fear right?”
- >You chuckle
- >”I guess not; you want to go inside? It’s kind of chilly out her…”
- >She shivers in your arms and nods
- >You lead her back inside the apartment building and back down the apartment
- >You both settle in for the night on the couch
- >You pop in the movie for the night
- >Rose’s favorite “Titanic”
- >You quietly watch the movie in the dark with Rose in your arms
- >Before drifting off to sleep you kiss rose on the top of the head
- >”I love you Rose, Happy Hearts and Hooves day.”
- >”I love you too Anon, Happy Valentine’s day.”
