  1. Part 1:A Special Project
  2. >”It’s perfect”
  3. >You star down at the object in the box
  4. >It had better be perfect, you’re paying a lot for it…
  5. >The store clerk smiles
  6. “I’m glad you find it satisfactory sir. She must be one special girl.”
  7. >You smile
  8. >”You could say that.”
  9. >You walk out of the shop into the February chill
  10. >Your thoughts drift to the past few months
  11. >Much to your dismay, the winter had been mild.
  12. >There was relatively no snow
  13. >But, this had worked to you advantage
  14. >The mild days allowed you to work on a special project
  15. >That including the package you just picked up was for Rose
  16. >The special somep0ny in your life
  17. >Speaking of ponies, there was little news about them anymore
  18. >The truth has still yet to be revealed
  19. >It was probably for the best
  20. >Although one day the rest of the world will know about the destruction of Equestria
  21. >The rest of the ponies had settled and have been making a life for themselves on Earth
  22. >Even better, they seem to have a positive effect.
  23. >A lot that was negative for this world seems to be disappearing
  24. >The appearance of the ponies was indeed for the better of Earth
  25. >Your thoughts have carried you to your next destination
  26. >A local flower shop
  27. >As you enter you see a familiar pony working behind the counter
  28. >She is facing away for the counter arranging a few flowers
  29. >You approach the counter and clear your throat
  30. >”Excuse me miss, I need to place an order for a dozen red roses.”
  31. >The pony behind the counter doesn’t turn around
  32. “Mmm, A dozen red roses, must be for somep0ny special”
  33. >You chuckle
  34. >”She is wonderful…
  35. >”She has the most beautiful green eyes and this pink silky mane”
  36. >She giggles a bit
  37. “She sounds lovely, do I know her?”
  38. >”You may, she also works at a flower shop like this one.”
  39. >Rose turns around
  40. “You always know the way to my heart, Anon.”
  41. >”I have to, you are my special somep0ny”
  42. >You lean over the counter and give Rose a brief kiss.
  43. “You really need to stop this while I’m at work”
  44. >”You’re hardly ever home on the weekends anymore…”
  45. “I know, but Hearts and Hooves day is always busy; I promise some more time after the holiday.”
  46. >You smile
  47. >”Good, what do you want for dinner tonight?”
  48. >She frowns a bit
  49. ”Im going to be home late, please don’t wait up from me…”
  50. >”Are you sure? It would be no problem at all.”
  51. “I’m sure, have a good day…”
  52. >She quickly turns back to her work
  53. >You leave the flower shop
  54. >It’s great that rose can get some time in at work…
  55. >But it meant less time together
  56. >Thankfully though, her being away has given you time for the project
  57. >Over the recent months Rose has seemed rather sad
  58. >When you questioned her about it she always said it was nothing
  59. >But you finally got it out of her
  60. >She missed her garden
  61. >More so she missed the chance to grow flowers
  62. >She said she felt like it was a part that she was missing
  63. >You then remembered something that your landlord, Mr. Williams had once said
  64. >Back when you first signed the lease he mentioned an old green house on the roof that no one used
  65. >Later that day you question Mr. Williams again about it
  66. >He said it was free to use to any of the residence
  67. >He reminded you that it had fallen into some disrepair
  68. >It was up to anyone who used it to repair it
  69. >That weekend, while Rose was at work you investigated the Greenhouse
  70. >There was a little shed and as glass house up there alright
  71. >The shed needed some patching on the room
  72. >And some panes of glass needed to be replaced
  73. >It was going to be a project
  74. >But if you worked hard you would be able to have it done in time for Valentine’s day
  75.  >You have a few more repairs to complete, but you were finally almost finished
  76. >One week before Valentines
  77. >You hoped that Rose would like it and she would be able to use it
  78. >Although you had no doubts about it
  79. >She said she could grow anything
  80. >When you got home, you made sure to place the package into a safe place
  81. >It was the other part of Roses Valentine’s Day surprise
  82. >And it was also the only part you were worried about
  83. >You head up to the top of the apartment building to finish up work on the greenhouse
  84. >Nearly finished, just needed to replace one last panel of glass
  85. >After a little work you step back and take a look at it
  86. >It had been a true labor of love
  87. >It was now complete
  88. >All that was left was Rose’s flowers
  89. >You head down stairs and prepare yourself dinner
  90. >Ignoring her statement, you fix up a salad for Rose
  91. >You leave a note on the counter about her dinner in the fridge you get ready for bed
  92. >You lay there quietly difting in and out of sleep waiting for rose to come back
  93. >Eventually you hear the door unlock
  94. >The quiet hoof steps indicate that she is trying to make sure not to wake you
  95. >You hear a quiet sigh come from the kitchen followed by the opening to the fridge
  96. >Good she found the note
  97. >You listen to her eat in silence and then quietly trot into the bedroom
  98. >She slowly gets into to bed next to you trying to not wake you
  99. >Even though you are already awake
  100. >As she lays down next to you; you slowly put your arms around her drawing her close
  101. >She sighs again as she relaxes into your body
  102. “You didn’t have to make me the salad”
  103. “Or wait up for me”
  104. >You chuckle and give her a kiss on the neck
  105. >”What kind of man would I be, if I didn’t take care of my special somep0ny?”
  106. >She sighs again
  107. “I love you, my stallion.”
  108. >”I love you too, Rose.”
  109. End of Part 1
  110.
  111. Part 2: A Meeting with a Friend
  112. >Another day at school
  113. >Another day closer to Valentines
  114. >You just left your Economics Class and about to go on lunch
  115. >You feel a tap on the shoulder
  116. >When you turn around you discover Robert is standing behind you
  117. “Hey Anon, what’s up?”
  118. >You smile, ever since that night at the dance you and Rob have become pretty good friends
  119. >”Nothing much Rob, just about to get some lunch, do you want to join?”
  120.  “Sure, I have sometime before my next class”
  121. >You both head off to the campus café
  122. >Sitting down at one of the inside table you begin to discuss how things have been going
  123. >”So Rob, how are thing between you and lyra?”
  124. “Lyra? Things are fine I’m hoping on getting some alone time with here this weekend.”
  125. >”Yeah same thing between me and Rose.”
  126. >”What kind of plans do you have for Valentines anyways?”
  127. >He shrugs a bit
  128. “Nothing special, a quiet dinner at home, maybe curl up on the couch for a nice movie.”
  129. “Nothing to extravagant.”
  130. “What about you and Rose.”
  131. >”I have the exact opposite in mind for Rose.”
  132. “Oh? Do tell…”
  133. >“Well, as you know Rose works at the florist shops, and one of their busiest days is Valentines.”
  134. >“So, I have nothing planned for that day, but the next night I have a nice dinner at a great restaurant.”
  135. >“Its supposed to be one of the places that a pony started, they cater to both human and ponies, so I think that she will like it.”
  136. >“Afterwords I’ll take her home, and show her a special project I have been working on.”
  137. >”Over the winter I have been fixing up a greenhouse that sits on top of our apartment building.”
  138. >”She has been talking about how she wishes she could be gardening lately you see.”
  139. >”So I thought that maybe this will help with that.”
  140. >He nods
  141. “Seems like you have a big night planned”
  142. >”Yeah, but that’s not the best part.”
  143. >”After I show her the greenhouse, I’m going to give her this.”
  144. >You pull a small box out of your pocket
  145. >You started keeping the present on you after Rose nearly discovered it while help you clean.
  146. >You open the box and show it to Rob
  147. >He lets out a low whistle
  148. “Wow! That sure is something! I’m sure she’ll love it.”
  149. >”I know she’ll love it. I just hope that she’ll accept it.”
  150. “Why wouldn’t she accept it? I mean it’s not like…”
  151. >It suddenly dawns on him
  152. “Anon, what are you thinking?”
  153. >”I know it hasn’t been that long, but me and Rose are prefect for each other.”
  154. >”She makes me feel like no one has ever made me feel.”
  155. >”I can’t let her just slip away.”
  156. >Rob leans back in his chair
  157. “I remember a time when you nearly broke a pony’s heart just on the basis of her being a pony.”
  158. >”That was then, this is now.”
  159. >Rob chuckles and shakes his head.
  160. “If you feel like you are ready then man, go ahead and best of luck to you.”
  161. >”Thanks man.”
  162. End of Part 2
  163.
  164. Part 3: The Big Night
  165. >Before you know realize, it is Valentine’s Day.
  166. >Rose is working late again
  167. >Even though you and rose have a nice evening planned for tomorrow
  168. >You still feel like doing something nice
  169. >Earlier you get a dozen roses and make a small nice dinner
  170. >You are sitting on the couch when she walks through the door
  171. >You get up as she enters and start to help her with her coat
  172. >She looks at the table and sighs
  173. “You waited up, made dinner, and got me flowers…”
  174. “How did I get this lucky?”
  175. >”If you tell me how I got so lucky, I’ll tell you.”
  176. >She giggles and gives you a hug and a kiss
  177. >You both walk over and have a quiet meal together.
  178. >After the dinner you clean up while Rose gets ready for bed
  179. >When you walk into the bed room you she is already in bed waiting for you
  180. >You crawl into bed and pull her close
  181. “Thank you for the dinner, it was nice.”
  182. >”Just wait for tomorrow night. It will be better.”
  183. >She sighs and snuggles into your body
  184. >The heat of her body presses against you
  185. >You breathe in deeply and inhale the smell of roses
  186. >You slowly drift off to sleep with her in your arms
  187. >You are slow to wake the next morning
  188. >You are roused by the smell of coffee
  189. >You quickly realized that Rose isn’t lying next to you anymore
  190. >As you gradually wake up you hear the sound of someone singing
  191. >Not someone, somep0ny
  192. >You get up out of bed and make your way into the kitchen
  193. >You see Rose by the stove looking like she is trying to make some eggs
  194. >However you stove isn’t exactly made for a pony
  195. >She turns around and sees you staring at her
  196. >She smiles at you
  197. “I was trying to make some breakfast for us”
  198. >She giggles
  199. “I’m having a bit of a tough time though”
  200. >You chuckle
  201. >”Here, let me help, before you burn down the whole complex”
  202. >Between you and Rose you finish up breakfast and sit down and start eating
  203. >She looks across the table at you
  204. “So what exactly are the plans for tonight anyways?”
  205. >”I guess I can let you in on some of it.”
  206. >”We are going out to dinner tonight, after words, I was thinking a quiet evening watching a movie together.”
  207. >She smiles at you
  208. “Oh is that all?”
  209. >”Would it be any fun if I told you everything?”
  210. >She shakes her head and continues to eat her breakfast
  211. >The rest of the day passes by normally
  212. >As the time grows closer to the dinner you and Rose start to get dressed
  213. >You were a nice shirt and tie combo
  214. >Rose wears a simple dress
  215. >”You look beautiful”
  216. >She smiles shyly at you
  217. ”Thank you and you look as handsome as ever.”
  218. >You open the door out of the apartment and escort her down to the streets
  219. >You hail a cab and head off to the restaurant
  220. >After a short ride you arrive at the restaurant
  221. >She smiles at you as you get out of the cab
  222. “I’ve wanted to eat here since this place opened.”
  223. >”I know, I hope the food is as good as they say it is.”
  224. >Inside you see most of the customers are ponies
  225. >In fact most of workers are ponies also
  226. >The restaurant seems to be built to accommodate ponies
  227. >As you and rose are seated you take a look over the menu
  228. >It’s a mostly vegan menu fit for both humans and ponies
  229. >There are a few specialty meal made for ponies
  230. >You don’t think that a daisy salad sound particularly tasty.
  231. >You order a regular salad and Rose orders a lily salad
  232. >The atmosphere here is nice; a good combination of human and pony taste
  233. >You and Rose share a nice quiet dinner together
  234. >After the dinner you and rose start making your way back to the apartment
  235. >Rose starts questioning you about the rest of the night
  236. “Come on, you need to tell me what next.”
  237. >You smile slyly
  238. >”You are just going to have to wait until we get back to the apartment”
  239. “Can you at least tell me what movie you have planned.”
  240. >You nod
  241. >”We are going to watch your favorite”
  242. >Her smiles grows broad and she wrap her arms around you again
  243. >”But that is after the surprise”
  244. >You arrive back at the apartment
  245. >You and Rose start you climb up to the apartment
  246. >As you get to your landing you continue your way up
  247. >Rose gives you a strange look but follows you anyways
  248. >Down inside the pocket of your pants you feel the box gaining wait
  249. >You nerves begin to build and your hands shake a little
  250. >Don’t worry, it’ll all be fine…
  251. >At least you hope so…
  252. >You continue to climb until you reach the doorway to the roof
  253. >You wait for Rose to join you before you continue onto the roof
  254. >Rose take a quick look around and then looks at you in puzzlement
  255. “It’s a great view Anon, but what is the surprise”
  256. >You walk over and stand next to greenhouse
  257. >”I know its not a proper garden, but at least here you can grow some flowers.”
  258. >”I checked with the landlord. No one else has ever used this. I have been building it through the winter.”
  259. >You smile at Rose
  260. >Rose looks surprised beyond words
  261. >She looks between you and the greenhouse
  262. “You rebuilt this, for me? So I can grow flowers?”
  263. >She looks like she is almost on the verge of tears
  264. >She trots over to you and throws herself into your arms
  265. “Anon, how can I ever thank you? This is the best thing anyp0ny could have ever gotten me.”
  266. >You pull her into a tight hug
  267. >”I’m glad you like it Rose, I can’t wait to see the flowers you will grow”
  268. >After a long hug she lets go and admires the greenhouse some more
  269. >Well, here we go, time for the leap…
  270. >”Rose…?”
  271. >She turns around and looks at you. A smile still locked on her face.
  272. >”There is one more thing I have for you.”
  273. >She smiles
  274. “What more can a pony ask for from her special somep0ny?”
  275. >You swallow hard before continuing
  276. >”Rose, ever since you came into my life, you have changed me.”
  277. >”Work became more bearable and so did school.”
  278. >”You showed me that love can transcend between species”
  279. >”You have shown me what it is like to be truly loved.”
  280. >”And I don’t think I can live without that in my life.”
  281. >Somewhere in the middle of the speech your brain had shut off
  282. >You find yourself on one knee with the box in your outstretched hand
  283. >You reach up and begin to open the box.
  284. >”Roseluck, will you marry me?”
  285. End of Part 3
  286.
  287. Part 4: Acceptance
  288.
  289. >Roseluck stares at you with her mouth agape
  290. >This is yet another instance that time slows down
  291. >The shocked expression on her face seems to freeze
  292. >You begin to question if you made the wrong decision
  293. >Was it too soon?
  294. >Should have I even asked?
  295. >Maybe it’s the rose…
  296. >In your mind you examine the object in your hands
  297. >You didn’t know a thing about Equestrian marrages.
  298. >You assumed at since ponies didn’t have fingers they didn’t wear rings
  299. >So you got a little creative with it
  300. >Some may call it an elaborate hair clip
  301. >But really it is something to wear in Roses mane
  302. >Its shaped like a rose, off course
  303. >A diamond in the center of red gemstones
  304. >With two little golden leaves at the edge
  305. >This is the object that you presented to Rose
  306. >Time slowly moves on
  307. >You hear her trying to form a complete sentence
  308. “I…I really… what do I say?”
  309. >”Well an answer would be nice…”
  310. >”Hopefully a yes.”
  311. >The last few words are enough to break her out of her shocked state
  312. >The expression on her face changes automatically
  313. >A smile slowly keeps across her lips and tears well up in her eyes
  314. >She throws her front hooves around your neck
  315. “Oh Anon! Yes, I’ll marry you!”
  316. >Tears roll down her face and being to soak your shoulder
  317. >Her whole body shakes as she clenches you tightly in a hug
  318. >You can feel your body shaking as well as you chuckle slightly; a broad smiles permanently affixed to you face.
  319. >As you break the hug you see Rose stare at you
  320. >Her eyes full of wonder, tear streaked cheeks, and a broad smile
  321. >Your hands shake as you take the small ornate rose and place it into her hair
  322. >She giggles and pulls you into another hug
  323. “It’s beautiful, I love it!”
  324. >”I’m glad, you had me scared for a bit there…”
  325. >She giggles again in your arms
  326. “You know you had nothing to fear right?”
  327. >You chuckle
  328. >”I guess not; you want to go inside? It’s kind of chilly out her…”
  329. >She shivers in your arms and nods
  330. >You lead her back inside the apartment building and back down the apartment
  331. >You both settle in for the night on the couch
  332. >You pop in the movie for the night
  333. >Rose’s favorite “Titanic”
  334. >You quietly watch the movie in the dark with Rose in your arms
  335. >Before drifting off to sleep you kiss rose on the top of the head
  336. >”I love you Rose, Happy Hearts and Hooves day.”
  337. >”I love you too Anon, Happy Valentine’s day.”
  338. End of Part 4
