  1. Part1:Making Amends
  2.
  3. >She came back
  4. >Eventually
  5. >It felt like an eternity to you
  6. >But in reality it was only a few hours
  7. >Immediately when she got back you tried to explain what you meant
  8. >She was free to stay here with you as long as she liked
  9. >Even if she wanted to live with you permanently
  10. >For some reason though, you word seem to come awkwardly
  11. >Your thoughts we half formed and rushed
  12. >You half expected that she wouldn’t return
  13. >As the words leave your mouth you know that she doesn’t believe what you say
  14. >She is cold and distant as she tells you her experience at the floral shop
  15. >How when she entered the shopkeeper had practically thrown the job at her
  16. >How she had instantly fallen in love with the idea of a pony with the talent of a botanist working for her
  17. >You never really understood subtext
  18. >But you sense that she was trying to convey something more to you.
  19. >The next month passes by all too quickly
  20. >Life feels like it is returning to normal
  21. >As normal as life can be in a world full of ponies
  22. >Although in about a month and a half since the arrival of ponies, life is pretty much the same
  23. >It is pretty much accepted fact that the princesses may be gone forever
  24. >It is also accepted that the ponies may be staying on earth.
  25. >Many of the earth ponies have moved out of the Cities to the country, most starting small towns and farms
  26. >The unicorns stay in the major cities finding comfort in the busy city life
  27. >The pegasi had a harder time of it
  28. >They finial had “some” control over the weather
  29. >The were basically limited to moving clouds and causing them to rain
  30. >The clouds still moved to the power of the winds though
  31. >So when the pegasi tried to build a settlement in the clouds; it ended up drifting through the air on its own accord
  32. >Pegasi became nomadic floating wherever their cloud cities would take them
  33. >That is what the world calls normal now
  34. >Things don’t seem to be returning to normal between you and rose though
  35. >Between work, school and her job
  36. >You and Rose barely talk to each other
  37. >You work and school performance start to suffer from it
  38. >The easy going feeling you had when rose first arrived on earth has all but disappeared
  39. >You and rose slowly drift away from each other
  40. >When you do talk; she often talks about moving out of the city, to the country where she can start a garden
  41. >You know this is a constant reminder that one day she will try and leave you
  42. >And sometimes, you wish she would leave.
  43. >But then you remember, you promised you would help her through this
  44. >You remember, that she is your friend
  45. >A good friend…
  46. >These thoughts preoccupy you as you walk through the hallways of the university
  47. >You have just finished you last class of the morning
  48. >You have an hour or two before you need to be at work for the afternoon shift
  49. >You shake your head trying to clear your thoughts
  50. >Your eyes settle on a poster in front of you
  51. >It’s a poster for the university Halloween party
  52. >Dancing, booze, and music
  53. >Special Guest DjP0n3
  54. >Theme this year is Masquerade
  55. >Hmmm…idea…
  56. >It’s been awhile since you and Rose have been out together for some fun
  57. >Maybe a night at a party would be good
  58. >Maybe you can talk to her about what you said that day
  59. >The party is this weekend, that doesn’t leave much time to get a suit together
  60. >You hope that you can convince Rose to come…
  61. >The rest of the day at work drags on way to long
  62. >You leave work once again tired and frustrated
  63. >But you remind yourself about the plan
  64. >Convince Rose to come with you to the Halloween Party
  65. >Shouldn’t be that difficult
  66. >You swallow hard as you step out into the chilly evening air
  67. >As least you hope not
  68. >You find yourself, in the first time in a month, rushing home again
  69. >When you get back to the apartment Rose is not there
  70. >It’s ok, you remind yourself, Rose said she was closing the shop today.
  71. >You have time to throw something together for dinner.
  72. >You quickly raid through the refrigerator and cabinets
  73. >You come up with a salad, two apples, a half jar of sauce and spaghetti
  74. >Why do you always have spaghetti on hand?
  75. >Doesn’t matter…
  76. >You set the water to boil and quickly make a small pre dinner salad with sliced apples as a side
  77. >Ok now for the main course
  78. >You boil the noddle and the sauce
  79. >You make up to plates and place them on the table
  80. >You hear the lock on the door click as you just finish up dinner
  81. >In walks Rose and she looks exhausted
  82. >She has gotten quite good at taking on and off her coat without your help
  83. >She looks between you and the dinner you have prepared
  84. “Evening Anon, are we having guests?”
  85. >You shake your head
  86. >”I just feel like have a nice dinner together”
  87. >She cocks her head to the side and sighs
  88. “Ok, let me get settled in and I will join you in a few minutes.”
  89. >You sit down at the table and patiently wait for Rose
  90. >She appears from the bathroom a few minutes later and sits down across from you
  91. >The immediately starts eating her salad
  92. >Ok, so this is going to be a little tougher than you thought
  93. >”So Rose, how was your day?”
  94. >She looks up at you, almost surprised by the question
  95. “It was fine, how was yours…”
  96. >Good, you got her talking
  97. >”It was boring as always, saw something interesting there…”
  98. >Rose interrupts you before you can finish
  99. “What is this about Anon?”
  100. >You’re taken aback by the suddenness
  101. >”What do you mean?”
  102. >She looks at the food and back at you again
  103. “A full dinner and talking like we used to…”
  104. “We haven’t done this in a while, something is up.”
  105. >You lower your head
  106. >”I liked it when we talked and spent time together…”
  107. >She stares at you
  108. >”That why when I saw a poster at the University, I thought that we could try and get back to that.”
  109. >She eyes you suspiciously
  110. “What poster?”
  111. >You perk up a bit, you’ve caught her interest
  112. >”The annual Halloween dance is this weekend. I thought maybe we could go together and have some fun.”
  113. >She cocks her head at you again
  114. “Aren’t Halloween and Nightmare Night the same concept?”
  115. >You think back to everything that Rose told you about Equestria’s celebration
  116. >”Yes, essentially everybody dresses up in costumes and goes door to door for free candy”
  117. >She smiles slightly
  118. “And you want to go out to a dance with me?”
  119. >”Well yes, the theme is Masquerade; it’s dressing up in suits and dresses while wearing a mask to cover the face.”
  120. >Her smile grows bigger
  121. >”I know its short notice for a dress, but do you want to go?”
  122. >She nods
  123. “Don’t worry; I know the perfect pony to go to for a dress.”
  124. >You smile back across the table
  125. >”That’s great; it’ll be nice to go out as friends again.”
  126. >You turn back to your meal
  127. >You don’t notice her smile fade away from her face.
  128. ”Right, as friends…”
  129. End of Part 1
  130.
  131. Part 2:Before the Party
  132. >The rest of the week flashed by at lightning pace
  133. >After that dinner you once again didn’t have time to talk to Rose
  134. >But you spirits have been kept high by you Saturday night date
  135. >Date…
  136. >No not a date
  137. >This is an outing between friends
  138. >Nothing more…
  139. >It is now noon on Saturday
  140. >Rose had taken off early morning to get ready for tonight
  141. >Doesn’t matter if you’re from Earth or Equestia, women take forever to get ready
  142. >You have just left to pick up your suit and find a suitable mask
  143. >As the clerk went to the back to find you’re suit you take time to look through their masks
  144. >There are several masks out for the holiday
  145. >Several are made to fit humans; some are made to fit the face of a pony
  146. >As time goes on you notice more items have been made with ponies in mind
  147. >As mask jumps out from the rest
  148. >A simple green mask that only covered the area around the eyes
  149. >You pick it up and hold it up to your face in front of a mirror
  150. “It fits you nicely”
  151. >The clerk has returned with your suit.
  152. >You pay the man for the suit rental and for the mask
  153. >You return back to the apartment
  154. >It’s still a few hours before you need even start getting ready
  155. >You spend your time relaxing and thinking
  156. >It’s going to be great to go out with Rose for the night
  157. >Something nags at the back of your mind
  158. >Your thoughts turn to Rose
  159. >Even though you both have drifted apart for the past month, you still count her as a good friend
  160. >She has a beautiful singing voice
  161. >She always smells of roses
  162. >A mystery you still don’t understand
  163. >And yet you don’t really wish to know why
  164. >That time she got drunk on appletinis and fell asleep on your lap
  165. >How beautiful she looked laying there…
  166. >The feeling you felt when you realized she might leave you…
  167. >There is something more…
  168. >No, there can’t be anything more there…
  169. >She’s an animal
  170. >She’s a Pony!
  171. >She’s a friend!
  172. >You feel a conflict building inside of you
  173. >Every time you think about rose you can’t help but smile to yourself
  174. >But, she’s a fucking pony! An animal! It is wrong on so many levels…
  175. >Who says…
  176. >This makes you pause.
  177. >How is she exactly different?
  178. >Besides the obvious physical difference
  179. >She still has feelings
  180. >She when you look in her eyes you can see intelligence there
  181. >The conflict bothers your mind so much you barely notice the passage of time
  182. >Swearing to yourself, you rush to the bathroom to wash up before Rose gets back
  183. >After a good shower you go and change quickly into your suit
  184. >You just about finished changing when you hear the door open to the apartment
  185. “Anon, are you in here?”
  186. >”Yes, I’m just about finished getting dressed”
  187. >You grab your mask and exit the bedroom
  188. >As you lay your eyes on Rose you mouth drops open
  189. >She is wearing an elegant light rose colored dress
  190. >the bottom edge is adorned with roses
  191. >It looks like her shoes are roses also; the stems wrap themselves up her legs
  192. >Her mas covers the upper half of her face and is decorated with miniature roses
  193. >She is beautiful
  194. >She smiles and giggles at you
  195. “I hope that mean that you like it.”
  196. >You hardly can form words, and only manage a small nod
  197. >She giggles again
  198. “Rarity said that the dress may have that effect on you. I didn’t believe her until now.”
  199. “Are you ready to go then Anon?”
  200. >You finally find your voice.
  201. >”Yes, I’m ready to go. You look beautiful Rose”
  202. >She turns her head away from you again
  203. >You come along side and place a hand on the back of her mane.
  204. >”Let’s go we have a full night ahead of us”
  205. >You lead her out the door and down to the streets
  206. >The university would usually be a simple short walk from you apartment
  207. >But considering the occasion and the type of dress you hail a taxi instead
  208. >As you get into the taxi you notice that Rose has taken the seat very close to you
  209. >The smell of roses fills the cab
  210. >To you the smell has almost become intoxicating
  211. >These feelings for her are real, you tell yourself
  212. >You reach up and start to run your fingers thorough her silky mane
  213. >As you touch her mane though she pulls away slightly
  214. >What was that about…
  215. >Might as well try and break the silence
  216. >”So Rose, have you ever heard of Dj P0n3?”
  217. >She turn hear head towards you and smiles
  218. “Yes, that’s Vinyl Scratches stage name. She is a pony from Ponyville.”
  219. >You nod
  220. >Then you notice something peculiar
  221. >Her hoof is resting on your thigh
  222. >When did that happen?
  223. >You guess it wouldn’t hurt
  224. >You reach down and wrap your hand around her hoof
  225. >You were expecting something hard; you were met with something soft.
  226. >When you do this Rose sighs and you can see she relaxes a bit…
  227. >The rest of the taxi ride is relatively uneventful
  228. >You shortly arrive at the University and make your way to the Hall
  229. >As you enter the Hall is decked out in all sorts of Halloween decor
  230. >Several tables line the hall with the middle open as a dance floor
  231. >At the back you can see a white pony behind a turntable
  232. >You escort Rose over to one of the tables
  233. >”Do you want something to drink?”
  234. >She simply nods
  235. >As you make your way over to the refreshments table you notice that you aren’t the only “mixed” couple
  236. >You can see that other humans have their arms wrapped around ponies
  237. >Although they are the minority by far
  238. >And all of these couples are getting the strangest looks from those around them
  239. >You reach the refreshment table and grab yourself a beer
  240. >As you look over the difference punches they have to offer, you realize one thing
  241. >Every single one of them has already be spiked
  242. >You sigh slightly and grab a ladle full of the least foul smelling of the brews
  243. >You return to the table and hand Rose her glass
  244. >You lean in close as you do
  245. >”Please be careful, the punch is already spiked”
  246. >She giggles and nods
  247. >She takes a sip of the punch and coughs a bit
  248. >”Is something wrong?”
  249. “The punch is a bit strong”
  250. >You chuckle a bit
  251. >This is most certainly going to be an interesting night…
  252. End of Part 2
  253.
  254. Part 3: The Dance
  255. >The music started soon after you take your seat next to rose
  256. >The bass pounded heavy over the speakers
  257. >Well, from the sound of it Vinyl knows her audience
  258. >A few people get up and start to dance
  259. >You and rose stay seated for the moment
  260. >As you watch the people around you dance you occasionally glance over at rose
  261. >She sits quietly drinking her punch, staring at the people dancing
  262. >You begin to wonder what she is thinking…
  263. >Wasn’t that why you asked her to come out with you tonight?
  264. >So you can restrengthen your friendship with Rose?
  265. >So why do you sit here and do nothing…
  266. >As you start thinking about doing something you hear a voice behind you
  267. ”Hey Anon, didn’t expect to see you here!”
  268. >You turn around in your seat and see one of your class mates
  269. >His name is Robert; he is from your Economics class.
  270. >Accompanying him is a turquoise unicorn, it appears to have a Lyre as a cutie mark
  271. “And you brought a date! Mind if we sit?
  272. >As he mentions the word date, you see Rose turn away from you
  273. >”Sure have a seat Rob; this is my friend Rose. Rose, this is a classmate of mine Robert.”
  274. >He bows before pulling a chair out for his pony friend.
  275. >He then takes a seat himself
  276. “Nice to meet you Rose, and this beautiful mare is my date Lyra.”
  277. >”Nice to meet you Lyra.”
  278. >She smiles at you and then turns to Rose
  279. “Rose and I know each other from Ponyville; she always had the best flowers.”
  280. >Rose smiles back at Lyra
  281. “Thank you Lyra, that is very nice to say”
  282. >Robert clears his throat
  283. “Do you want something to drink lyra?”
  284. >She responds with a polite nod
  285. >You notice that Rose’s glass is almost empty
  286. >”Would you like a refill on your drink Rose?”
  287. “Yes please”
  288. >She responds without looking at you
  289. >You and Rob get up and head over to the refreshment table
  290. >Strikes up the conversation
  291. “I never thought you would be dating a pony Anon.”
  292. >You chuckle
  293. >”We aren’t dating; we are just friends, why would you say that anyways?”
  294. >He looks at you with a strange look
  295. “Just friends huh? You fooled me! Especially the way she looks at you…”
  296. >”What do you mean?”
  297. >You take a look back at your table.
  298. >Rose is in deep conversation with Lyra
  299. >Every so often she glances in your direction before quickly turning back to Lyra
  300. >“Besides, she’s a pony”
  301. “So, what’s your point?”
  302. >You laugh a little harder
  303. >”She’s an animal man! She’s not human! She’s…”
  304. “What, different?”
  305. >”Well, yes she’s different”
  306. “They aren’t that different you know…”
  307. >You look at Rob who is now staring in Lyra’s direction
  308. “She’s helped me a lot, and I have helped her.”
  309. >”Wait, have you…?”
  310. >He chuckles a bit
  311. “They are not different, no matter what you think. You just need to give them a chance.”
  312. >You look back over at Rose again
  313. >This time she is staring at you.
  314. >”A chance huh?”
  315. >You grab Rose’s drink and head back towards the table
  316. >When you get back you realize Rose hasn’t taken her eyes off of you
  317. >You place her drink down and hold out your hand
  318. >”Would you like to dance Rose?”
  319. >Her eyes light up as you ask her
  320. >Her voice is breathless as she answers you
  321. “Yes”
  322. >Roses leaves her seat and trots next to you out onto the dance floor
  323. >The DJ continues to “drop the bass”
  324. >As you dance with Rose the crowd keeps getting denser and denser
  325. >Pretty soon the dancing is just glorified grinding
  326. >You and rose dance closely her body grinding against yours
  327. >The smell of roses only heighten the feeling
  328. >You both occasionally take break to get some more drinks
  329. >As you go on you can feel a decent buzz coming on
  330. >You are also pretty sure that Rose has one by now too
  331. >As the night continues on the songs start to slow up
  332. >Until you recognize the beginning chords of it.
  333. >You look at Rose who also recognizes the song
  334. >She smiles drunkenly at you and you back at her
  335. >She rises up and places one hoof on your shoulder and the other in your hand
  336. >You pull her close and begin to slowly turn in circles to My Heart Will Go On
  337. >Rose slowly leans her head against your shoulders
  338. >The smell of roses mixes with your intoxication
  339. >You bury your head into her mane
  340. >You would give anything for with moment to go on forever
  341. >But like all good things…
  342. >She pulls her head back and stares into your eyes
  343. >A smiles slowly creeps across her face
  344. >She closes her eyes
  345. >And slowly moves towards you
  346. >Time slows to a crawl and you are left to your thoughts
  347. >This is it…
  348. >The culmination of everything
  349. >A start of something new…
  350. >But…
  351. >NO BUTS!
  352. >She’s an animal
  353. >She’s a Pony
  354. >She’s a friend
  355. >You can’t do this
  356. >You begin to panic
  357. >Think brain think!
  358. >Your brain takes over
  359. >A decision is made
  360. >At the last moment
  361. >You turn your head…
  362. >Wrong answer brain!
  363. >You feel her kiss against your cheek as you try to take stock about what just happened
  364. >You feel Rose pull back against you
  365. >You look back into her eyes
  366. >Your gaze is met with questions
  367. >Oh god you really fucked up this time Anon.
  368. “Anon, I don’t…”
  369. >Say something
  370. “Is this something wrong…”
  371. >Say something…
  372. “Is it me?
  373. >ANYTHING!
  374. >”You’re a pony”
  375. >...but that…
  376. >Her eyes fill with confusion, fear, and rage
  377. >And then nothing but sadness
  378. >She pushes you away and gallops out of the Hall
  379. >You look around for some help
  380. >You see Robert and Lyra standing near by
  381. >You can’t hear what he is saying, but you get the gist
  382. >You run after Rose.
  383. End of Part 3
  384.
  385. Part 4: Revelations Pt1
  386. >You chase Rose through the halls of the university
  387. >Even in her gown she is faster than you are
  388. >The sound of her hooves striking the ground disappear ahead of you
  389. >From the sounds of it she may have exited the building
  390. >As you turn the corner you spot a door leading out onto the central main grounds
  391. >As you exit the building you can see the grounds are illuminated only by the full moon
  392. >It is a clear star filled sky above you
  393. >A beautiful night
  394. >Or at least what should have been a beautiful night
  395. >You took care of that quite handily
  396. >You had to go and tell her that, didn’t you?
  397. >You could have said anything, but you said that.
  398. >You need to find Rose
  399. >You have to explain to her everything
  400. >But, what exactly are you going to explain to her?
  401. >That you can’t see past the fact she is a pony?
  402. >That she is too much of a friend for you to even get past that?
  403. >What the fuck exactly is wrong with you?
  404. >You were having such a great time with her
  405. >Well, you aren’t going to get closer to an answer standing here talking to yourself
  406. >A quick sweep of your surroundings already confirm your suspicions
  407. >Rose is nowhere within sight…
  408. >But wait…
  409. >On the light wind you can hear the fain sound of crying
  410. >It’s difficult to place the direction…
  411.  >You move further onto the main grounds searching for Rose
  412. >On the ground up ahead you spot her discarded mask
  413. >Ok so you’re on the right direction
  414. >Another round of sobs finally gives you a solid direction
  415. >Off to your right
  416. >You head off the path to your right
  417. >Rose’s sobs grow louder as you get closer and closer to her hiding spot
  418. >Up ahead you can make out a silhouette of a pony sitting on the ground
  419. >That’s her, it has to be Rose
  420. >She is facing away from you
  421. >You get closer and closer you slow your advance
  422. >Through her sobs you can hear her talking to someone
  423. >No somep0ny
  424. “Oh dear Celestia, why…?”
  425. >Is she… praying?
  426. >You stop moving and listen in on what she is saying
  427. “Why did you and your sister have to send us here?”
  428. >Wait…
  429. “I know it was for the best, but why did you have to leave us in the process?”
  430. >…What…
  431. ”and now we will never see equestria…”
  432. “It’s all gone”
  433. >…gone? What does she mean…?”
  434. >She starts to cry again
  435. >Through the sobs you can tell she is trying to catch her breath
  436. “Gone…it’s all gone…”
  437. “And worst of all… is him”
  438. >Well fuck…
  439. “I understand we are different…”
  440. “But, that doesn’t change the way I feel…”
  441. “I’m in love with a human…”
  442. “And he cares nothing about me…”
  443. “If only I wasn’t a pony…”
  444. “Maybe then I could make him happy.”
  445. >She cries even harder now
  446. >You can tell she is near hysteria
  447. >Barely able to catch a breath between sobs
  448. >Even when she does, you can hear it clearly
  449. “Anon…”
  450. >She cries your name…
  451. >And all you can do is stand by and watch her suffer in silence
  452. >No, you refuse to let this mare to be hurt any further.
  453. >You take a few steps forward and clear your throat
  454. >”Rose…”
  455. >She turns around and looks at you
  456. >She is surprised to see you
  457. >She tries to stifle her cries and wipes her tears away
  458. “Anon, what are you…?”
  459. >You immediately see the change of emotions in her face
  460. “NO! Get away from me! You are just a human!”
  461. >Ok so you deserve that, you did call her a pony
  462. >You take a few steps towards her
  463. >”I just want to talk Rose.”
  464. >She stares you down, her green rage filled eyes glinting in the moon light
  465. “I don’t want to talk to you! Stay away from me!”
  466. >You take another few steps forward
  467. >”We need to talk Rose…”
  468. >Pure rage flashes through her eyes
  469. “I! SAID! NO!”
  470. >Before you can comprehend what is happening you are flying flat on your back
  471. >Your shoulder and your chest are in severe pain
  472. >It takes you a few seconds to realize exactly what happened.
  473. >She kicked you
  474. >Her hooves had made connection with the middle of your chest and your right shoulder
  475. >You try to move but waves of pain wash over you when you do
  476. “Anon! Mother of Celestia! I am so sorry!”
  477. >You cough a bit, the pain continues
  478. “Are you ok?”
  479. >You slowly start to sit up and take an internal check of your body
  480. >From what you can tell your chest and shoulder are heavily bruised
  481. >She really knocked the wind right out of you
  482. >”I’m fine, I think…”
  483. >”I deserve that actually…”
  484. >She turns away from you
  485. “You deserve a little more than that…”
  486. >You chuckle
  487. >Ouch, ok it hurts to laugh
  488. >”Rose, I don’t know what to say…”
  489. >She turns back towards you
  490. >You can still see a glint of anger in her eyes, but you see mostly sadness.
  491. ”I just want to know the truth…”
  492. >You nod
  493. >”You deserve that much, but I want the truth also…”
  494. >She looks at you with confusion
  495. >Then the sudden realization of what you’re talking about
  496. “How much did you hear…”
  497. >”I heard enough to know there is something more going on.”
  498. >She looks at the ground
  499. ”I’ll tell you everything, but you need to go first.”
  500. >You nod again
  501. >”I care about you Rose.”
  502. >You can tell that got her attention
  503. “You sure have a funny way of showing it”
  504. >Ok not the good kind of attention
  505. >”I know, I’m sorry about what I said…”
  506. >”It’s just you’re such a good friend…”
  507. “That is not what you said.”
  508. >You swallow hard
  509. >”I know…”
  510. >”Rose, we are different…you’re such an amazing pony…”
  511. “Why should it matter then?”
  512. >It shouldn’t
  513. >”I’m scared.”
  514. >Where did that come from…
  515. “And, you think I’m not?”
  516. >That’s right
  517. >She is the one out of place
  518. >This is worse for her than it is for you
  519. >She walks up to you and rubs against your side
  520. >”I just want to be happy”
  521. “I want you to be happy”
  522. “Then what’s stopping you from being happy…?”
  523. >You kneel down and look into her eyes
  524. >You can see how much she cares for you reflected back
  525. >There should be nothing stopping me
  526. >You take a deep breath; inhaling the smell of roses.
  527. >You’re not going let anything stop you…
  528. >You put both hands up on her face
  529. >Why should you care what other people think?
  530. >She closes her eyes as you begin to stroke her neck
  531. >You want to be happy
  532. >You close your own eyes and move forward
  533. >You want Rose to be happy
  534. >You lips meet hers
  535. >You are going to be happy
  536. >An electric feeling shoots down your whole body
  537. >You feel Rose’s body tense and relax
  538. >You pull her in closer, wrapping her in your arms
  539. >The kiss seems to go on forever…
  540. >As you break away you are both left breathless
  541. >”Wow…”
  542. >You can see Rose’s coat turn a deeper red
  543. “Wow…”
  544. >You can’t seem to take your eyes of her
  545. >This mare, this beautiful mare
  546. >You’re life just seems to become more and more complicated
  547. >But there is another matter to attend to
  548. >”I told you the truth, now you need to tell me…”
  549. “Right, the truth…”
  550. End of Part 4
  551.
  552. Part 5: Revelations Pt2
  553. >”So what is the truth then?”
  554. >You and Rose have moved to a nearby bench
  555. >She lies next to you on the bench with her head in your lap
  556. >You rub her stomach as she looks up at you with concern in her eyes
  557. “It’s all gone…”
  558. >Her eyes begin to fill with sadness and tears
  559. “My home, my garden, Ponyville, all of Equestria; it’s all gone.”
  560. >A tear rolls down her face
  561. >You automatically wipe it away
  562. >”What do you mean it’s all gone? What happened?”
  563. >Her eyes stare off into the night sky
  564. “I remember the events like they happened yesterday”
  565. “It all began with a meeting held in the town square.”
  566. “We were all gathered there awaiting an important announcement”
  567. “Celestia and her sister, Luna, suddenly appeared on the stage in front of the crowd.”
  568. “But they looked different, Celestia said it was because she was and image projected throughout Equestria”
  569. “She said that she, Luna, and several high ranking Unicorns had been following a developing situation.”
  570. “She said that she didn’t want to alarm the population until she was sure about what it was or that it couldn’t be avoided.”
  571. “Celestia told us that our world was dying.”
  572. “And there was nothing we could do to stop it.”
  573. “There was a short panic the followed shortly after”
  574. “But the crowd was soon calmed by Celestia”
  575. “She went to explain that tremors would happen throughout the land.”
  576. “They will only get worse and more frequent as we get closer”
  577. “She ended by offering us hope.”
  578. “She said that it was Luna who had discovered a far off place, which would be safe from this disaster.”
  579. “She promised when the time was right we would go there.”
  580. “During the following month earthquakes shook our land”
  581. “We got more news about the land we would soon be going to.”
  582. “It was filled with creatures that walked on two legs and were called humans.”
  583. “Celestia had made contact with them and was in negoations about us coming to their world”
  584. “We were told we would be welcomed and well taken care for by the humans.”
  585. “There were only a few restrictions.”
  586. “The most important one that was stressed is that we couldn’t tell the general populace about this until it was announced.”
  587. “Then came that final day.”
  588. “I wasn’t lying to you when I said I was working in the garden before it happened”
  589. “The ground began to shake, but it was different”
  590. “On this day, morning became night.”
  591. “I looked up into the sky and the sun was no longer there”
  592. “I rushed to the center of town with everyp0ny else.”
  593. “There Princess Celestia spoke with us one final time.”
  594. “She told us it was time to leave.”
  595. “She then apologized”
  596. “Because she and Luna had to stay behind”
  597. “It was going to take all of their magical ability to transport us to earth”
  598. “They had to stay back to make sure they got everyp0ny.”
  599. “She ended by saying that she loved us all and good luck.”
  600. “There was a bright flash of light, and I found myself in the metal box where you found me.”
  601. >Her eyes refocus and look up at you
  602. >As she does, her eyes quickly fill with tears again
  603. >There is nothing that you and her can do to stop the incoming water works
  604. >You pick her up and hold her close as she cries on your shoulder
  605. “It’s all gone…Anon…”
  606. “My garden…my beautiful garden…”
  607. “My home…Equestria… all gone…”
  608. “We can never…go back”
  609. “Even our princesses…”
  610. >She continues to cry
  611. >You hold onto her tightly slowly stroking her mane trying to console her
  612. >But what can you do?
  613. >It’s not like a regular loss of a home
  614. >Her whole world was erased from somewhere
  615. >All that is left is her and everp0ny else that now resides on Earth
  616. >You can only try
  617. >”At least you and all of your friends are ok”
  618. >She sobs a little less and starts to calm down a little
  619. >”I know that we can’t rebuild your home exactly like it was…”
  620. “But, we can build you a new one here.”
  621. >She looks at you.
  622. “You mean build ourselves one here.”
  623. >You stare into her gorgeous green eyes
  624. >”You and me, it won’t be easy, but we find a way to make it work.”
  625. >”That is if you still want an idiot human like me.”
  626. >She smiles and giggles
  627. “I’ll take you, stallion; if you’ll take just a pony.”
  628. >You chuckle
  629. >She called you a stallion
  630. >For some reason you find that… enticing.
  631. >”I guess I’ll have to settle for just a pony.”
  632. >You pull her in close again
  633. >Your lips meet hers for a second time
  634. >You move your tongue across her mouth begging for an opening
  635. >She slowly gives way allowing your tongue to enter her mouth
  636. >Your tongues intertwine around one another
  637. >You slowly move your hands down her back
  638. >Your hands stop at her cutie marks
  639. >You can feel a change in texture underneath your hands
  640. >You’re about to explore further when Rose breaks off the kiss
  641. >She smiles at you
  642. >”Is something wrong”
  643. >Gets off the bench and start to walk away, she turns her head back towards you
  644. “I can’t let you discover everything in one go can I?”
  645. >You smile broadly
  646. >Oh Rose, you are a tease…
  647. >”Well, the night is still fairly young…”
  648. “Oh? What do you have in mind?”
  649. >”Well the dance is here winding down, but that doesn’t mean this is the only place…”
  650. “I would like to have some more of that punch”
  651. >You smile and put your arm around her neck
  652. >”I got a good place for that…”
  653. >You and rose exit the university grounds and hail a taxi
  654. >As you ride to your next destination you get some very interesting looks from the taxi driver
  655. >What? He acts like he has never seen a grown man make out with a pony before…
  656. >The taxi driver lets you out at a bar that is only a few blocks from your apartment
  657. >As you enter you know that you and Rose are clearly over dressed
  658. >If that wasn’t enough to grab the attention of the bar
  659. >Your and Rose’s behavior is
  660. >You both sit at a booth in the back
  661. >Always close to one another
  662. >You drinking down a few beers
  663. >Rose is drinking down appletinis again
  664. >The hour gets late and pretty soon the bar is calling for last call
  665. >You and Rose stumble into the street
  666. >Now just to get back to the apartment
  667. >Which way was that again…
  668. >You somehow manage to find your way home
  669. >Although you have a pretty hard time trying to open the door
  670. >Why is it so hard to use keys with a pony constantly bumping into you?
  671. >You finally master the lock and practically fall into the apartment
  672. >You and Rose stumble drunkenly over to the couch
  673. >You sprawl out onto the couch first
  674. >Rose falls second right on top of you
  675. >You both are laughing hard
  676. >Rose, alcohol, that smell
  677. >It’s almost too much for you to bear
  678. >You wrap your arms around her
  679. >You pull her in close and whisper in your ear
  680. >”Are you tired?”
  681. >She laughs
  682. “Mmm, not yet…”
  683. >”Well then, let’s see how much energy you have left…”
  684. End of Part 5
  685.
  686. Part 6:A New Day
  687. >You slowly open your eyes the next morning
  688. >Weird you should be feeling the effects from last night
  689. >That and your bed is empty
  690. >Where’s Rose?
  691. >You don’t hear any movement in the apartment
  692. >You slowly get out of bed
  693. >The sheets are clean…
  694. >There is no rosy smell on the pillow next to you…
  695. >You look in the corner where Rose had discarded her dress
  696. >Missing
  697. >No, this can’t be…
  698. >You frantically get up and start searching the apartment
  699. >Not in the kitchen or living room
  700. >Not in the bathroom either
  701. >Her coat and bag are both gone from the hooks
  702. >The date, It should be November
  703. >It’s only the second weekend in September
  704. >Your mind slowly comes to terms on the truth
  705. >A dream…
  706. >The last month and a half
  707. >All that time with that beautiful pony
  708. >Just a dream
  709. >You collapse on the sofa and turn on the news
  710. >boring human news
  711. >No metions of ponies anywhere
  712. >Like they never appeared…
  713. >It never happened…
  714. >It was such a good dream
  715. >It was such a great story…
  716. >A great story…
  717. >Yes, I can write something from this
  718. >You rush to the computer and boot it up
  719. >Now where to write…
  720. >There’s only one place where something like this can go
  721. >4chan
  722. >/mlp/
  723. >Now where was that thread you saw 2 days ago
  724. >PiE, there it is
  725. >You click on the thread and type in the comment box the first line of your story
  726. >”It had been another long day…”
  727. >You wake  with a start.
  728. >You are immediately greeted by a pounding head ache
  729. >Oh alcohol why must you be a cruel mistress?
  730. >Wait a head ache
  731. >That means…
  732. >You feel her; she is lying on your chest
  733. >You slowly open your eyes and witness rose fast asleep
  734. >This is real
  735. >Oh thank celestia this is real
  736. >You breathe heavily
  737. >As you reaffirm yourself, you feel the sleeping pony stir
  738. >A stifled moan escapes from her
  739. >She must be as hung over as you are
  740. >Her green eyes flutter open and she immediately looks to you
  741. >A smile crosses her face as she relaxes against your body
  742. “Good Morning, stallion.”
  743. >Stallion why does that sound so good to you?
  744. >You reach up and run you hand through her mane
  745. >”Good morning beautiful”
  746. >She looks into your eyes again
  747. “Last night… it was…”
  748. >You recognize the emotion of fear
  749. >Why is she scared
  750. >Oh, that’s why…
  751. >No, you are not going to do that to her again
  752. >She is your pony, she is your mare
  753. >”Last night was perfect”
  754. >You gently give her a kiss on the forehead
  755. >Her smile broadens
  756. “Last night was perfect.”
  757. >You lie there with her for a good long while
  758. >”We really should get cleaned up, and start the day…”
  759. “Do we have to; I could try to convince you otherwise…”
  760. >This pony is going to be the death of you…
  761. >”Yes, we I have some laundry to do and some errands to run.”
  762. >Rose slowly lifts off of you and unsteadily gets out of bed
  763. >Time to start the day right
  764. >A quick shower should do the trick
  765. >Although “quick” is always a relative term…
  766. >Your bathroom you come to find out has really nice acoustics
  767. >Be it Roses singing or otherwise
  768. >After a nice friendly shower a big greasy breakfast
  769. >Everything just seems to taste better this morning
  770. >You wonder why
  771. >After breakfast you let rose relax on the couch while you do some of the weekly chores
  772. >You gather up the laundry, strip the bed of the now soiled sheets, and head down the laundry room
  773. >While downstairs you grab the Sunday edition paper.
  774. >Nothing to terribly interesting today
  775. >You jog up the stair back to the apartment
  776. >Rose still lies on the couch staring at the TV
  777. >”Anything interesting on?”
  778. >She shakes her head no and continues to watch
  779. >You join her on the couch
  780. >as you sit down Rose places her head in your lap
  781. >She start up at you with the green eyes you have come to enjoy so much
  782. >The smell of roses hangs in the air around her
  783. >God how you love that
  784. “Anon?”
  785. >”hmm?”
  786. ”Where do we go from here?”
  787. >You take a pause
  788. >Where do we go from here…
  789. >While it looks like human and pony relationships aren’t rare
  790. >They are largely uncommon
  791. >There are still people who have a prejudice against the ponies
  792. >That prejudice may just grow when they come to find out the truth
  793. >Why is it when things get better, they also get more complicated.
  794. >This question makes you head pound that much harder…
  795. >You slowly pet Rose’s mane
  796. >”We’ll just have to take it one day at a time Rose.”
  797. >One day at a time…
