>You freeze at the sound of your Pa's voice before peeking over your shoulder to see him staring at you arms crossed. His face in a unhappy frown.
 
>"What are you doing on that chair?"
 
>Slipping your hand out of the sugar cube jar you jump down off the chair nervously twisting your hands.
 
"Um, I was looking…for, for a cup! Yeah thats it I was looking for a cup."
 
>Grinning at your Pa you can only hope he believes you.
 
>"You were looking for a cup."
 
"Yes sir."
 
>"On top of the fridge."
 
>Sweat beading on the your forehead you nod.
 
"Yes sir."
 
>A few moments pass before Pa grins at you.
 
>"Alright honey just next time remember that the cups are in the cabinet next to the fridge not on top of it."
 
>Pa ruffles your hair before heading for the door.
 
"Pa."
 
>Pa stops before the door turning his head around to look at you.
 
"I-I lied, I'm sorry I just wanted a sugar cube and I know Ma always says that too many of them ruins supper but they taste so good so I thought just one would be ok and then you walked in an-"
 
>Before you can continue your run away apology you feel yourself enveloped in Pa's arms.
 
>"Hey now Cider, calm down."
 
>Sniffling at lying and from Pa's embrace you mutely nod.
>After a few more moments of being hugged Pa lets you go before reaching up to the sugarcube jar and handing you one.
>Confused you look at Pa and see him popping a few in his mouth.
 
>"Don't tell your mother, but I like to sneak a few too. Alright now honey?"
 
>Looking back at the sugar cube you pop it in
your mouth before hugging your Pa again.
 
"Thank you Pa."
