- >You here the alarm sound
- *sigh*
- >You slowly open your eyes to get a clear shot
- >You then bring up your fist and slam it into the phone until you successfully hit the Stop button
- >You rise up out of bed and do your morning ritual
- >SSS, breakfast, get clothed
- >You then head out to your car
- >As you pull out of your driveway you slam on the brakes at the sudden realization...
- "I'M A SENIOR!!!"
- >You then floor it in your excitedness to get to your final year of school
- >First time for everything, right?
- >One short ride and speeding ticket later you arrive at school a little less enthusiastic than when you first set out
- I was only going, like, 10 mph over the speed limit
- >Realizing you were speaking out loud and that people were laughing you, decide to continue with your day as it would've been
- >After receiving your schedule and locker number and combination from the office, you head to your first class, Calculus
- >Stepping into class you're greeted by a good sign for the new year
- >Your best friend Francis has Calculus with you
- >As soon as your eyes lock you both know to say:
- "WAZZUUUUP!?"
- >"WAZZUUUP!?"
- >"What's up Anon"
- "Ah nothin. Chillin, killin, sittin in school"
- >You sit down next to him
- >"True, true"
- "Hey where's dookie?"
- >"I don't know, I think he's got Chemistry"
- >Crap
- >Well nobody said this year would be perfect
- "Ah well, he's missing out."
- >Beeeeep
- >The second most annoying sound you've heard this morning resounds
- >First bell
- >As everybody gets to their seat, one girl walks in slowly
- >But there's something different about her
- >Straight. Pink. Hair.
- >Not a single hair out of place and it didn't even look dyed.
- >Being the only seat open she sits in the desk next to yours
- >"Geez, what do you think her story is?" Francis asks.
- "I have no idea"
- >She slowly sits in the desk next to yours and it seems her hair isn't the only strange thing about her
- >You feel as if her very presense brings you sadness
- >But still, you can't one girl get you down, right?
- >After all it is senior year.
- >Plus, she must be new.
- >A new friend wouldn't do her any harm.
- >After going over it in your mind you decide to introduce yourself, though you've never been exactly "smooth" with the ladies before
- "Hello"
- >She turns to looks at you
- >She's surprised, but not in a happy sort of way.
- >You didn't figure she would've been.
- "My name's Anonymous."
- >You extend your hand.
- "What's your name? I don't think I've seem you around here for the past few years."
- >She looks at your hand for a moment, then back up at you.
- >She extends her hand and shakes yours lightly
- >As she does this, the sad aura that seemed to surround her weakens a little.
- >Maybe she does just need a friend to cheer her up
- >"Pinkamena Pie... I'm new."
- "Where are you from."
- >You hope you aren't battering her with too many questions.
- >There you go again, panicking about what a girl thinks about you.
- >Whatever, bigger problems at hand.
- >"I'm from... far away," she says quietly.
- >Awfully vague aren't we?
- >You dismiss it.
- "Well... let me know of you need anything."
- >She looks at you with that same blank expression she had before and simply nods her head.
- >Maybe she's just quiet.
- >Class is starting anyway, no time for conversation.
- >Who are you kidding?
- >First days are always review, you won't miss anything.
- >As you look to Francis, trying to ask what his other classes are, you find a smirk on his face.
- "What?"
- >"You trying to get with the new girl already?"
- "No, I was just trying to be nice."
- >"Whatever you say, bro."
- >He winks suggestively and nudges your arm.
- >You give him a scowl in return.
- >Calculus goes off without a hitch, as well as your other classes until lunch.
- >Public school cafeteria food.
- >Nope
- >Good thing you brought your own lunch
- >You look around trying to find a seat.
- >You spot Francis and Dookie at a table.
- >Francis sees you and a smile spreads across his face.
- >You stop dead in your tracks.
- >You know what must be done.
- >Francis pulls out his cellphone dials something and then sticks the phone to his ear.
- >You then feel a vibration coming from your pocket, your phone.
- >You need not check who it is, you just answer.
- >"WHHAZZZUUUUUUUP!?"
- "WHHAAAZZZUUUP!?"
- "Hey where's Dookie?"
- >Hold on.
- >You hear Francis yell from across the cafeteria as he hands Dookie his phone.
- >"Dookie, pick up the phone!"
- >He puts the phone to his ear.
- "WHHAAAZZUUP?!"
- >"This is getting old you know."
- >Dookie.
- >Always the buzzkill.
- >But then again, he is the voice of reason that's saved you and Francis from getting arrested several times.
- >You walk over to the table and sit down with your sack lunch.
- "What's up fellas?"
- >"Not much, killin, chillin, eatin some lunch," said Dookie.
- "I thought that got old?"
- >He just gives a witty smile.
- >He can really be a douche sometimes.
- >"So did you hear about anon trying to get with the new girl Dookie?"
- >"Man, Anon, it's only the first day and you're already trying to get with the new girl?"
- "It's not like that I was just being friendly."
- >"Sure."
- >Francis gives the same wink and arm nudge as he did in Calculus.
- >How original.
- >Speaking of the new girl you haven't seen her since Calculus.
- >A quick search around the cafeteria reveals Pinkamena is sitting at a table by herself.
- >Your friends pick up on you staring at her.
- >"There he goes again."
- "Look, Francis, I already told yo-"
- >"It's okay man I understand."
- >"Well?" Dookie breaks the silence.
- "Well what?"
- >"You know you want to go sit with her, go do it."
- "I don't want to leave you guys hanging."
- >"Stop being such a wuss and just go sit with her!"
- "Okay, okay I'm going."
- >You scoop up your lunch and then walk over to her table.
- >She's just poking her food with her spork and humming a gentle tune to herself.
- >You barely have time to put down your lunch before she just says:
- >"I don't like your name."
- "Wh-what?"
- >"It doesn't really fit you."
- >She looks you dead in the eye.
- "Well how do you suppose I fix this?"
- >She squints and purses her lips as if in "deep" thought.
- >"Hmm... how about Nony?"
- >Nony?
- >Interesting
- >You decide to play along
- "Okay, but I get to call you..."
- >You pause in thought, but just decde to do the same thing to her name.
- "Pinkie!"
- >"Ha ha ha, how'd you know my name from back home."
- >She laughed and she's smiling!
- >That's a first.
- "I didn't."
- >"Well they used to call me pinkie back home."
- "Where are you from by the way?"
- >She stops
- >"Didn't I already tell you?"
- "Uh, not really. I asked and you just said far away."
- >"Well... let's just keep that a mystery."
- >She winks
- >Um
- "Okay... I guess?"
- >You fell like trying to get that story out of her would probably take more time than it's worth.
- >BEEEEP
- >Lunch is over
- "Aw, man. What class do you have next?"
- >"Chemistry I think."
- >Yes!
- "Me too."
- "You..."
- >"What?"
- "Do you want to walk to class together?"
- >A gentle smile spreads across her face.
- >"I'd love to."
- >[Happiness intensifies]
- "Shall we?"
- >Sure thing Nony!"
- >As you walk to class together, you notice something.
- >Her hair that was perfectly straight this morning has tufts sticking out of it here and there.
- >Maybe she just needs to brush her hair?
- >Either that or her hair gets more unkempt the happier she gets.
- >No, that's just stupid.
- >You decide to shake it from your mind as you finally arrive at the chemistry lab.
- >You walk in and take the seat next to Pinkie.
- >Same first day deal.
- >Syllabus, "this is what this class is about," you know, the usual.
- >Being next to Pinkie though just seemed to make everything about this class a little better.
- >Maybe Dookie and Francis were right.
- >Maybe you were falling for her.
- >It's not that weird of a thought.
- >She was a nice girl, got along with you, and she didn't instinctively scream at first sight of you.
- >Even though that was Halloween in the fourth grade it still hurt.
- >Especially taking in the fact you didn't have a costume that year.
- >But, yeah a genuine girl.
- >And she was pretty.
- >Now that you mention it, you realize she's actually drop dead gorgeous.
- >How did you not notice this before?
- >Teacher looks at the clock.
- >"Well that's all you'll need for this class, make sure to bring the proper materials tomorrow. As for now, just take the last few minutes of the day to talk amongst yourself."
- >You haven't stopped looking at Pinkie since he started talking.
- >She looks over and notices.
- >"Whatcha lookin' at Nony."
- >You snap back to reality.
- "Huh? Oh I was just admiring that periodic table behind you."
- >You suck at lying.
- >She investigates you with a smirk.
- >"Don't play dumb silly, I saw you looking at me."
- >Might as well come clean.
- "Okay you caught me, I just couldn't help admiring how beautiful you are."
- >That was the cheesiest thing that has ever bothered to come out of your mouth.
- >Pinkie just laughs.
- >She bought it?
- >Or is she just laughing at you.
- >You can't tell and don't care as long as she doesn't think you're weird.
- >But then again she is a pretty strange one herself.
- >Or is that part of the "mystery."
- >She still hasn't stopped laughing.
- >Even more hair is starting to stick out of place, too.
- "Was it really that funny?"
- >She tries to stop to answer you, but still giggles a little as she tries to explain.
- >"Yes, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard."
- >You frown.
- >Unfortunately your little line didn't pass.
- >But al least you seem funny.
- >She finally calms down and gives you a little smile.
- >"Thanks Nony, I needed a laugh."
- "No problem."
- >"And, thanks for talking to me this morning, I'm not sure I'd have made it through this day if I hadn't met you."
- "It's no problem at all."
- >"No it kinda was a problem. You went out of your way to talk to the new girl. I thought since I moved away from all my friends back home I'd never be happy again with out them. You came along though, and showed the first sign of anything close to friendship since I came to this town. You even left your friends at lunch just to come sit with me when no one else would. You've done everything you can to make me feel welcome here and it means the world to me.
- >You both smile.
- "I didn't know it meant that much to you. I'm sure you would've done the same for me."
- >"Yeah, you're probably right."
- >You both start laughing.
- >BEEEEEP
- >The last bell.
- >That was possibly one of the greatest days of school ever.
- >You and Pinkie just stare at each other until you break the silence.
- "That's the end of the day, you want to hang out?"
- >"Nothing would make me happier."
- "Alright then, follow me."
- >You lead her out to your car and you both get in.
- "What do you say to getting some milkshakes?"
- >"Mmm, sounds tasty! Let's go!"
- "Then we're off!"
- >You peel out and whip it out of the parking lot.
- >Pinkie loves every second of it.
- >You make sure to slow it down after you exit the parking lot though.
- >You can't afford two tickets in one day.
- >"Aw, why'd you stop?"
- "Legal issues."
- >"What?"
- "Nothing."
- >You pull in to the local Drive-in restaurant and order two chocolate milkshakes.
- >You're not sure if it was riding with the windows, but even more of Pinkie's hair is standing up out of place.
- >When your milkshakes arrive you just sip on them and talk for the next few hours, just telling each other about how the schools and your towns are different.
- "...and that's why the Industrial Park was swallowed by a sinkhole."
- >"Wow Nony you sure make this town seem interesting.
- "It's really not, but we've had some interesting things happen."
- >"It's getting dark."
- "Yeah, you want to come to my place."
- >She ponders this for a moment.
- >She looks directly upward, one eyebrow raised, finger tapping her chin, and frowning.
- >You don't think she takes thinking seriously.
- >"Okay! Sounds neat!"
- >Not needing another word you start your car and begin your journey to your house in the country.
- >Pinkie looks out the window at the passing farmland and smiles.
- >"Wow, Nony! It must be great to live out here. It's so beautiful!"
- "It is, especially between growing seasons when you can see the landscape.
- >She continues to stare out the window.
- >Then you hear her whisper to herself.
- >"It really reminds me of home."
- >Her smile widens even further as she reflects on her memories of home.
- >You soon reach your driveway and turn of the car.
- "Here we are, Anonymous Manor."
- >"I like it Nony."
- >It isn't anything special.
- >Just a simple brick house, fairly large, with a pool and deck in the back.
- >You both leave the car and walk inside.
- >Your parents aren't though.
- >They work hard to try to give you the best life they can afford.
- >You usually don't mind, but sometimes it gets lonely.
- >That's part of the reason you brought Pinkie home, but not all of it.
- >You show her around the house and then take her out back.
- "...and this is the deck and pool."
- >"Wowee."
- >You look back at her and she has her head up looking at the stars and the moon.
- "You like stargazing?"
- >"Not usually, but there are just so many out tonight and, the moon is so bright!"
- "You can lay down in one of the chairs if you'd like."
- >She gets a big grin on her face and pushes two chairs together.
- >She sits down in one and pats her hand on the other, inviting you to sit down.
- >You gladly take your seat next to her, once again.
- >After looking up at the stars and showing her some of the constellations you just sit there, admiring the natural beauty of space, you start to look at each other.
- >You both can't help but smile.
- >Then Pinkie says something you can't believe.
- >"Nony, I think I love you."
- >You just smile even bigger than before.
- "I think I love you, too, Pinkie."
- >She leans closer to you and you do the same.
- >Soon the gap between the two shrinks by the second until your lips meet in the most meaningful kiss of your life.
- >After you both pull apart you hear a peculiar sound.
- >SSQUEEEEEE
- >It sounded like a pop and a squeaky toy being played with.
- >You look up at Pinkie's hair and see the perfectly straight hair you saw this morning had turned into a completely swirling tangled mess.
- >And you loved it,
- >You loved everything about this girl.
- >She giggles at the realization of what has happened to her own hair.
- >So this was the real Pinkie Pie.
- >You could get used to moments like this.
- >After looking at each other for a few moments more she closes her eyes, wraps her arms around you, and lays her head on your chest.
- >You return the hug and close your eyes slowly as drowsiness slowly captures you both.
- >And there you stay until you fall asleep in each other's arms.
- The End
