A storm was scheduled for the late afternoon. >The purple one did not understand. >She was yours. You would have her in time. >For the seventh time in the week on the seventh day, you knocked on her door. The muffled sound of hooves on wood through the door told you of her approach. The door creaked open. >"Sorry, the library is currently being reorganized due to a recent..." >Nothing was in the doorway. >"...inventory loss." >The purple one stood in the doorway, pondering. So curious that one. Astute. >You would answer all her questions. >The rain picked up quickly, causing her to retreat as the real storm blew in. >As she turned to re-enter the treehouse, she didn't hear the subtle gust of air flow around human teeth. She didn't see the pinprick pupils and shining white teeth hidden in the upper branches when the lightning struck. >Dat flank. >You hid because you were not sure if you could overpower her. You would wait for the storm to grow. She would send her underling, as she would not want to face the elements herself. >Time passed as the clouds bellowed. You silently slid down the trunk of the tree and knocked at the door once more. >You could not hear the voices inside or the footsteps approaching, but you watched the door carefully. Only the bottom half made to swing open, telling you it was the dragon. His progress through the hatchway halted as you lurched inside, back bent. The lightning caught your toothy smile once more as you lingered halfway through the doorway. "Good evening."   >The dragon spawn ran, screaming, allowing you full entry to the tome-filled domicile. >You spent what little time you had preparing yourself. Setting your hair back with a lick of the hand, straightening your clothes, and moving your backpack to the side of a rounded table. Fingers twiddling at your side, you awaited her approach. >"Calm down Spike, it's just lightning!" >Spike:"It's n-not the lightning this time twilight!" >"Then what is it?" >Spike:"The-there was a visitor at the door!" >"/Obviously/. That's why I sent you over there, Spike!" >Spike:"Y-you don't understand! It was that thing again - with the soft claws!" >"Soft claws? Spike, what are you...UGH." >You can hear an explosive sigh from around the corner, then hoofsteps. >"You'd better have a good reason to be here, Anonymous - and getting out the rain /isn't/ good enough." >There she was. So purple. So lovely. "Twilight! What a pleasure to see you again!" >"I didn't see you last time we met, if you remember." >You frown apologetically, then lean to pick up your backpack. "Now, there was a perfectly good reason for that." >"You STOLE from the library! Forty books! I had to start reorganizing all the sections in new shelves!" >You pick your backup and begin unzipping it on the table. "But it was for a good cause, you see." >"Do you have some with you now, is that it? You could at least return them. What could possibly be so important that you needed 40 books all on equine anatomy and magic?" "This!" >You unveil the contents of your backpack. A microscope, several photocopies, a case of slides, and several seemingly empty plastic bags. >Twilight stares at your display and rolls her eyes. >"This had better be good."   >You step over to the microscope, tweaking the focus level of the display to what you remember. "You recall my advances to you earlier." >"I recall saying NO." "You said that it would be impossible. That we could never be compatible." >"One factor on a long list of others." >You stop adjusting the microscope for a moment to turn back to Twilight, flashing another smile. "Well, I thought it would be best to prove it to you instead of just hoping you'd believe me." >You reach into the slide holding case and procure a piece set aside from the others, then lay it on the microscope slate. >"Anonymous, you've been asking me to be your special somepony for a week. You tried playing a song for me in the middle of Ponyville. YOU WENT THROUGH MY TRASH! There's nothing you could show me that would change my mind about you!" >You step aside from the microscope, flourishing a hand towards it. "Then there'd be no harm in looking at what I have to show you." >It was a simple plate. A spot of blood on the center to be observed. You had pre-set the microscrope just so, and Twilight, caution at first, moved forward to observe. She was quiet for a moment as she peered down the microscope. >"It's just basic cell structure, Anonymous. I don't see what I'm looking for here." "Lovely little things, aren't they? Blood cells. Filtering about randomly in the streams." >Twilight gives you a deadpan stare. You play with your fingernails. "That is... unless you send a blank slate of magical energy through them." >Twilight stares at you quizzically for a moment, and you motion for her to try it. Sure enough, she wraps the microscope in a sheen of magical energy before observing the cells again. >Nothing could have prepared her for what she saw. >"What."   >You knew exactly what she saw. As her magic washed over the cells, they vibrated and shifted around the plate. Forming three words. Hot. Monkey. Dick. >You smile again. "Magnificient, isn't it?" >Twilgiht moves her back leg, motioning to move away from the microscope." >"Why would you-ooph!" >You held her head from behind, keeping her looking down the microscope. "Not yet. Let's decrease the magnification." >As the microscope slowly zoomed out to the turning of your fingers, more and more iterations of "Hot Monkey Dick" could be seen. You twisted the nob more and more as they congealed with one another in the vision of the scope, coagulating into a new form. And a hundred fifty times less magnification, they formed one shape. Your face. >Twilight immediately shoved herself out of your grasp gagging a little from what she saw. >"Thats IT! Get out! I don't even want to know why you would take your blood and show me this!" >You didn't move. You just looked down and laughed. >And laughed. >And laughed. >Twilight stepped away towards the room she came in from. Spike had snuck around during the discussion to see what was going on. They held eachother frightfully as they stared at you. You looked up again, and smiled. "It's not my blood. It's yours."   >You reached back to the table, pulling up the photocopies and plastic bags. Staring at them fondly. >"What do you-" "These studies were commissioned by the Royal Canterlot Society of Natural Sciences. The samples were used both from stored test amounts taken during your time as a student in Canterlot and recent samples." >You look up, remembering fondly. "You scuffed your hoof on the street that day." >You take a deep breath. Then pull out the contents in one of the bags with a pair of pliers. A hair. "This patternization follows through every facet of what you are. Your blood. Your skin. Your hair follicles. Your DNA." >You make a point to show similar pictures of each section in the photocopies. Each signed by a designated scientist working in Canterlot. "When we tested your hair, we found a discrepancy." >This seems to calm Twilight down slightly. "The pattern had different intensity on different parts of the body. Head, dock, hoof, back, belly." >You pause. Letting it all settle in. "The pattern presented itself most strongly on the flank. At the position of the cutie mark." >Twilight's face went from calm to horrified. You leaned in, one fist clenched in front of you. "That's right Twilight. You were meant for me. I for you. It's fate. Your destiny is to fuck this man from beyond the stars." >"That's IMPOSSIBLE! THERE'S NO WAY ANYONE CREDIBLE COULD VERIFY THAT!" >You step back and reach into your backpack, pulling out the final piece you had brought with you. It was a scroll, still under golden royal seal. You handed it to Twilight, and as she read over it, her face slowly began to crack. >It was a letter to her, sealed. It described the importance of the events and what must occur. How proud she must be. To be the first to experience what it would be like to live with something from beyond her planet. To share in the greatest form of friendship with someone in a way no one else could. To be a pioneer in the pathways of cross-species interaction. It was signed by Princess Celestia. >As Twilight lay shattered on the floor, you made your way for the door. Spike held her head in his claws, staring at you slack-jawed. You zipped up your backpack, deciding to leave the contents in the room, and held it in your right arm as you left. You had waited this long for her, you could wait until tomorrow.
