The Void was.  And simply is.  And will be. For untold spans, the void settled itself with existence.  Perhaps it reveled in its absence of action.  Solace in solitude.  Perhaps it loathed it.  Whatever the case, the Void was visited by Her.  The titles in old tongue leave little room for doubt.  The Lauded One.  The First Lord.  The Maker. The World Writer. Faust looked out onto the Void and saw nothing.  Again, for a span unknown, this held, but at one instance, Faust felt the need to fill that which wasn't.  First, She would need a place to fill.  Out came Galaxia, Queen.  The stars, bodies, and base of worlds  Next, She would need a way for her works to form.  Out came Eternity, King.  Time, it's passing, and its value.  Eternity and Galaxia met.  The worlds moved and dust formed.  Gasses congealed and stars were born.  Creation began, and the Void stared on. Faust shaped the stars.  As they tilted and twisted, some came to be constellations, imbued with purpose.   But not life. They swirled in their space, unkempt  notions and thought, but with none to observe, save the Void.   Faust chose the epicenter of these past creations, and there a planet began. She made the Earth of muscle and bone, and it was firm.  She made the air of hopes and aspirations, and it was light.  She made the oceans of sweat and uncertainty, and it was deep and unknown.  The blood of the earth cooled to the wet of the sea and cut of the air.  The waters settled, the airs were calmed, and the Void stared on.   http://i.imgur.com/GvAMP.jpg    The land lay black, still, and calm, empty of all but its being.  Faust wove Galaxia's hair in a ring.  She placed star and stone to heat and cool the earth as She spun them. Faust imbued the land with Life.  The will to grow, spread, and flourish.  Life only for life, and none else.  The trees rose and grass grew on the plains.  They had not mouths to speak or hooves to move.  They had not minds to think or words to know.  The world stood silent, and the Void stared on. Faust looked to her children, but could not hear them.  She wished to know them, to feel them.  She saw them prosper, but wanted more.  Life lived, but it did not know for what or why.  Faust wanted more, and it was from Want She made the first of Equestria's many species.  Dragons. The Dragons were to know of life in all its ways, and were graced with much.  The Earth buried them, and they were given strength, scale, and fire.  The Winds lifted them, and gave them wing and will.  The Sea swallowed them, and filled their minds with knowledge.  The Dragons were majestic.  Firstborn, first of the world, and given so much, yet they were not happy.  The Want of Faust's creation lived on in their bodies.  The need to have, to have to need.  The Dragons loved their mother, loved their gifts, but wanted.  To have all yet want frays the spirit, and the Dragons could not find peace.  Faust learned from her children and saw the danger in her emotions.  Her future children would be made with time and care, lest her want leak out.  Eternity marched through the eons.  The lands were filled, the beings born, and the Void stared on.   http://i.imgur.com/AyU79.jpg   There are but two races blessed with the three.  Earth, Air, and Water.  The first were Dragons, ever driven by their want.  The second were the Alicorn.  Wary of her past mistakes, Faust took care in her next children.  She took time, and was delicate, her love and concern for what She bore steadying selfish desire.  The Earth buried, not with craggy rock or ash, but sand and gemstone.  Soft, slow, and precious.  Their bodies formed gently, making fur and hoof, hard only where necessary.  The Winds lifted, not with gales and fervor, but on breeze.  Feathers formed to wings.  Delicate, but strong.  The Sea swallowed, not under whirlpool, but with spinning streams and calm currents.  One horn was formed, pure and smooth, rather than the spiked, twisted, and many.  From mother's great care and love for her child, the Alicorn's beauty was brought to the world.  As She cared for them did the Alicorns each other.  Where the Dragons spread wide their wings over the land in all directions, their love for one another held them together.  The Alicorns prospered, the Dragons wandered, and the Void stared on. Eternity continued, and in his wake the Alicorns did feel alone.  They were many, and loved, but lonely in the world.  The Dragons did not concern themselves with them, the grass and trees did not have means to speak, and the inanimate which blessed them did not live.  They pined for a fuller world, and Faust listened.  The Void stared on.   http://i.imgur.com/Z2Rv0.jpg   As Faust had created her Alicorns, the Alicorns wished for their own.  As She had given part of her, the Alicorns would give part of them. The Pegasi are of the Wind.  Carefree in their ways and lofty in their goals.  They do not have horns, but they have magic.  The wings act as their focal point.  It is what allows them to fly despite their form, what allows them to speed on and rise. The Earth Ponies are of the Earth.  Strong built and hardy workers, sturdy in their ways.  Kinsmen to the land and users of what it provides.  Their focal point is in their hooves.  It's what allows them to be surprisingly strong, run stupendously far.  It's what gives them the green hoof for their plants The Unicorns are of the Sea.  Deep, unknown, and mysterious.  Willing to flow one way then another, whichever suits them best.  They hold its perseverance.  To hone their studies for years, just as water erodes across the seabed.  Their focal point was the horn.  By extension, the mind.  It is what allows them their expanded intelligence.  Their ability to use their Will to alter the world. The Pony races were made, and the Alicorns were overjoyed.  Their motherly care took to their smaller kin as they watched them grow and expand.  They thanked their mother for her gifts of companionship and blessings.  They loved their kin as they did her and each other.  Faust saw this, and was elated.  The Void stared on.   http://i.imgur.com/bUJS9.jpg   Faust sought to fill the world with wonders and with life.  Each species would take time and care, and She would be away from her children, busy with the act of new life.  She looked to her children, saw their worry, and sought those that would guide them.  Three were chosen on base of will.  Two would be guardians, their duty to ensure Sun and Moon continued to turn as Faust focused all her will on the creation of Life.  One would be caretaker, a mother to watch over the herd of Alicorns and observe the other Pony races.  These three were marked, their utmost duties shown.  It was their cut and tie to the world, given by Faust.   The other responsibilities, She spread across Eternity.  The Alicorns and Ponies would find and fill their ties to the world as the time came in his wake.  Eternity passed as the lands filled with life.  Creation was complete, the world made, and the Void looked no longer. The Void had watched the work each step of the way.  At first, it was glad of such company, and intrigued by the ideas.  It gazed on with interest at its visitor's makings.  Saw the worlds form, the stars burn.  It watched as the planet grew lush with life as the world was filled with joy.  The void stared on, and saw how it's creations loved it's maker.  Lauded her.  Cherished her.  The Void looked on from its nothing and abyss, and it grew jealous.   http://i.imgur.com/xYaMd.jpg   It grew tired of its lack of recognition.  It grew sore of its emptyhood and neglect.  It would show the world what it was capable of making.  It would show itself just as worthy of its races.  The Voids gaze returned, and saw once again.  It saw the earth, air, and seas.  The passing and shifting of celestial systems.  It saw the Joy and Laughter, the Sorrow and Anger, the Content and Needing.  It saw Earth Pony, Dragon.  Eagle.  Unicorn.  Manticore.  Reptile.  Pegasus.   Goat.  Alicorn. The Void sent on his Son. To prove himself a master of life just as She, He made him.  He made him of the elements,  of time and space.  Of will and want, wrath and worry. Of hatred and humility, of every emotion and every being.  The Void set on his Son.  Filled to the brim with all of Life, and as he entered, the Void looked on to Her. She would be shadowed.  Hidden away in nothing from the eyes of Her creation.  Cloaked in the blanket of the abyss.  Trapped behind the veil of His emptiness.  The Void shadowed Her, and She was not seen.   As He did, He stared on.   Onto Creation and his Son.  Onto his arrival, and His assured victory, the Void stared on.
