>You couldn't help but be impressed, they pulled off some incredible stunts.
>Rainbow sat next to you, clutching you arm, occasionally pointing out some of the show ponies movements.
>Probably one of the cutest things you've ever seen.
>Damn these ponies will be the death of you one day.
>You find yourself glad you accepted Rainbow's offer to accompany her to the annual cloudsdale carnival.
>Normally you wouldn't be able to walk on clouds, but Twilight set you up with her cloudwalking spell.
>Magic. How does it work.
>The show finally ends, and Rainbow is pretty eager to show you what other things this carnival has in store.
>You can barely keep up with her as she drags you by your sleeve.
>"C'mon anon, if we don't hurry we'll miss the wonderbolt's performance!"
"Hold on Dashie, we still got plenty on time, I was thinking we could stop and get a snack on the way."
>She slows down and you notice a small blush forming on her cheeks.
>"...When are you going to stop calling me 'Dashie'."
>She grumbles as she crosses her forhooves.
"Whenever you stop being so cute."
>You boop her nose for added effect
>Her blush deepens and suddenly she looks like she's having trouble figuring out what she wants to say.
>"A-alright enough of the mushy stuff, let's just go."
>With that, Rainbow ~dashes~ ahead of you; you really enjoy teasing that pony.
>You're not surprised that Rainbow is so eager to watch the wonderbolts preform, however the ache in your stomach has your current priority.
>The sweet smell of cotton candy and funnel cake is almost too tempting to resist.
>You chuckle to yourself as memories from your childhood come back to you.
>Yep, you some need funnel cake pronto.
>You begin to make your way towards the concessions, but you can't help but notice your steps becoming more sluggish.
>Almost as if your walking in mud.
 
>Next step your left foot sinks halfway in the cloud.
>That can't be good.
"Uhh...Rainbow?"
>She fails to hear you and continues forward, unaware of your predicament.
>Feelings of panic rise as your legs are soon swallowed and your elbows hit the base of the cloud, it's not long before you feel yourself slipping farther.
"RAINBOW! RAINBOW HELP ME!"
>Rainbow's head snaps around and her eyes widen as she sees your body rapidly sinking into the cloud floor.
>Your arms offer little resistance as the clouds quickly consume your chest.
>You take one last look at Rainbow as she speeds towards you, a panicked look in her eyes.
>Your arms reach up, desperate for anything that will hasten your decent.
>Soon enough you feel your legs dangle at the bottom of the cloud, you feel something pry at your fingertips as what's left of your body sinks through the cloud.
>It's too late.
>You prepare yourself for the end as you begin the freefall to your untimely death.
 
>You are Rainbow Dash.
>And Anon is a jerk.
>He knows you don't like it when he calls you 'Dashie'.
>Still, you can't help but stifle a smile...he did call you cute.
>Maybe you should call him 'Nonny' now.
>Haha that'd show him.
>You make a mental note to yourself to call him that the next chance you get, and set off toward where your idols, The Wonderbolts are preforming.
>You find it hard to contain your excitement for this event, they always step up their game each year.
>Maybe this year they'll finally pull off that stunt where they-
>"RAINBOW! RAINBOW HELP ME!"
>That sounded like Anon, and that wasn't a ordinary cry for help.
>You turn around to see Anon, who had nearly sunken all the way into the cloud.
>Oh no, Twilight warned you this might happen, she worried that the magic might not last as long on him, and pretty much ordered you to stay by his side the entire time.
>You fly towards him with speeds you didn't know possible, however it's too late and you only manage to to graze his fingertips as the last of him vanishes.

>You begin to claw away at the cloud, attempting to make a hole big enough for you to slip through.
>Pretty early on it becomes clear that that won't work.
>You start to realize your only other option.
>You speed off, desperate to make it to the end of the cloud.
>Soon enough, you reach the end and see a black spec hurdling towards the ground.
>You can make it.
>Speeding off, you quickly make for anon's falling figure.
>His full body finally comes into view, his back facing the ground and his arms outstretched.
>You reach out for him, wrapping your hooves under his arms.
>You strain your wings in an attempt to slow down, however it quickly becomes too painful to bare.
>There's no way you can slow anon down, not at this speed.
>Anon seems to realize this as his hand reaches up and he runs his fingers through your mane.
>You look up into his eyes, what you see is not fear...but sadness.
>He sheds no tears, his sad expression tells you everything.
>You slam your head into his chest, your tears quickly dampening the smooth surface of his shirt.
"P-p-please...s-someone...help"
>This is all your fault, you got your best friend killed.
>Your best friend who you also hoped you could have been more than friends with someday.
>Now you're cradled in your best friends arms, sobbing deeply into his chest as you both plummet toward the ground.
>He lifts your chin up and forces you to gaze into his eyes.
>After a moment he slowly mouths the words "I've always loved you, Rainbow Dash."
>With that, he pushes you away, forcing you to slow your decent and watch as the ground quickly comes into view.
>You take one last look at him, he offers a sad smile and closes his eyes.
"NOOOO ANON!!!"
>You cry out and watch helplessly as Anon's body smashes into the cold ground below.
