Title: Spinning Records Chapter 2 - Late Nights Author: DoubleOctave Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/XjfgfJRw First Edit: Friday 18th of May 2012 02:06:03 PM CDT Last Edit: Friday 18th of May 2012 02:06:03 PM CDT >You're waiting at the bar for Vinyl, the clock on the wall read 6:17 >Granted you were late getting here, but she's even worse at it >"You actually showed up." >Vinyl takes the seat next to you, looking more energetic than last night >Did these clubs really take that much out of a p0ny around here? There must be no endurance for anything in Equestria >Besides Pinkie Pie "And you thought I wouldn't?" >"Call it a hunch." >She gave a shrug and tapped the tabletop twice with a forehoof >"A pair of Turntable Double Shots." >The unicorn bartender nods his head and starts to levitate drinks and shotglasses around "Your gonna try and drink me under the table?" >"Why not? Most p0nies are out cold when they try." >But your not a p0ny, and your liver has gone through worse...much worse >The bartender floats a pair of shotglasses over to the both of you, one was clear liquid, the other was some electric light blue colored >Vinyl already knocked her shots back and turned to watch you stare at yours >"You gonna drink that or stare at it?" >At her hinted request you take the two shots and down them at once >First is the regular bitter taste of alcohol, which might have come from the clear one, but then the taste is overpowered by a sour punch to the face >The second shot had you tense up and finally gag >Vinyl was laughing her ass off the chair and rolled on the floor >"Told you! You cant party!" >Alright Anon, you have two options right here and- >Fuck all logic >You pound the tabletop with your clenched fist once after re-composing yourself "Another set of shots..." >Vinyl looks up at you from the floor she was laying on with disbelief >Anon, listen to your brain here >Fuck you >Dude you cant act like that all the time when I have to tell you about- >When the bartender sets the two shot glasses on the table you chug them as fast as he set them there >This time you hold back the urge to gag and turn to Vinyl, "Your turn." >Vinyl gets off the ground and back on her seat, the bartender set another set of shots before her >"Its on then." >And so begins the contest of who can out-drink the other one >Brain.exe has stopped responding, and that might be a good thing...or a bad one >Well, your down to the last shot of liquor so you hope, Vinyl seems out of it as is so score one there >You tip back your head and the shot glass, only to fall on your back like a deranged drunk >No time for pokerface, your laughing your ass off with Vinyl >"Damn man, nop0ny has ever-*hic* got THAT drunk!" >Slowly your able to pull your drunk ass up to the table and laugh some more "I'm not as drunk as-*hic* you!" >She jabs a hoof towards your chest, missing badly she ended up punching you in the jaw without realizing it at all >"Only drunken fillies...cant hold down Double Shots." >Your eyes roll in their sockets at her comment "If anything, YOUR a drunken filly." >"Am not!" "Are to!" >"Says who?" >Why was this sounding like a bunch of kids arguing over who's the stupidest in the class >Oh brain, your back to working again >Shall I super size your stupidity there Anon >You look to the clock for the time, it was already 1:48am >Damn did time fly by >Then it hit you, like your brain was trying to tell you something "Vinyl, shouldn't you be *hic* at Buckin' Beats?" >She tilts her head to the side as if to ponder the thought for a bit >There's a silence between the two of you >"Nope!" >... "N-nope?" >How was that all she had to say >"Yeah, I took the day off." "To do what..?" >"Well...to sleep mostly. That and come *hic* here to get drunk." >More and more your liking this mare, she was already 20% cooler >No joke intended just an observation >Thanks brain >Vinyl gives off a drunk yawn and firmly falls from her chair onto all fours >"Gotta say, I haven't been this dru-*hic*-unk in years." >Then how old are you >"But I'm out. You win." >And it feels good to win >Besides, you were at your limit right there, another shot and the chances of passing out were high >"See ya later...uh...whats your name?" >... >... >You forgot to tell her your name didn't you >Ok brain, I'll listen to you more often "I'll tell you on the way back." >The two of you leave the bar in a drunken wobble to the elevators and take the ride to the 13th floor >Only now you ponder how elevators worked, and why you were living on the 13th floor of a hotel >You walk Vinyl to her room, neither of you really said anything on the way >But that all stopped when she reached her door and took out the room key for it >"OK, now that name?" >Her key fits in the lock with a resounding click "My name's Anonymous, *hic* but people just call me Anon." >The key turns in the lock >"Alright Anon, I'll see ya later." >Magic turns the knob as she walks to get into her room, but the door doesn't budge and she ends up walking right into the solid wood door with a thud >Maybe the two of you got too drunk >"Ow, hey what gives?" >She pulls the key from the lock and looks closer at it >Her room is 1387, the key was for room 1374 >That was your room key >Oh brain, what would I do without you "Vinyl...how did you get that?" >"This? I got it off the ground after I dropped it." >A brief silence comes between the two of you "Vinyl...that's my key..." >And then another silence, this one felt much more awkward than it should have >Then Vinyl looked at the key closer, noticing the room number on it >"Huh, why do I..." >She places the key in your open and and stares back at the door >If you knew more about Equestrian locks you could possibly pick it open "Guess somep0ny really is drunk tonight." >A playful punch to your arm is all she gives as a response >Then an idea crosses your mind >Oh, hell to the no you not going with that >Dont care brain, lalalalala >Anon, you promised to listen to me more and- >Brain has been muted "Wana just stay in my room for the night?" >Vinyl doesn't say anything, or move for that matter >Though you really cant tell what's going through her head, she had a poker face of god going on right now >"Eh, sure." >And there's the response you were subconsciously hoping for >Alright then dumbass, show her the way to the room >Oh hey brain, you stopped being muted >You and Vinyl turn away from the door to her room and head down the adjacent hall to your room >Entering the key gives a resounding click and your able to open the door unlike her >Well, you do have to fight the door to open it, your pile of clothes somehow migrated from the corner to the front of the door "Make yourself at home." >Vinyl climbs her way over your pile of clothes and into the room, plopping her flank down on the couch >"Nice place, reminds me of home." >Implying her house is a mess like this room, which is modeled after your own house >"Say Anon..." "Hm?" >You say as you sit down next to her >"What do you do?" >As in profession, past life, or just regular basis "Besides make a mess? I used to be a musician." >"Used to be?" >Her stare seems to bore into you through those purple glasses >"Explain." >You give a slight sigh, it was a bit of a long and confusing story to tell >What made it worse was being brought to Equestria "Alright, when I was..."
