- >Young Love in Equestria
- >You are Anon, former orphan
- >You walk through Ponyville at a brisk pace, the morning sun warming your back
- >Today, you were finally going to take care of some important business
- >Your mind starts to wander and you think back to the first few years of your life here
- >The time you spent in the orphanage...
- >When Fluttershy's family took you in and gave you a home...
- >You let out a sigh as you remember the incident that drove you away from them
- >As you grew, you saw Fluttershy as a sister more than a girlfriend
- >But of course her love persisted
- >It was this same love that made you decide
- >You return to reality as you reach your destination
- >Ponyville Hospital
- >You hesitate as you reach for the door
- >You take a deep breath, mentally preparing yourself for what you were about to do
- "You can do this, Anon. You might not get another chance."
- >As enter the lobby, you nervously meet the receptionist's gaze
- >She smiles as you approach the counter
- >"He kept asking when you'd visit. Last door on your right."
- >You nod and thank her then start down the hallway lined with rooms
- >You think back to why you're here
- >It was about 2 years after you moved in with Fluttershy
- >You were in the same hospital talking to a doctor
- >He told you that Dad was sick, and he'd be staying in the hospital
- >He tried to explain how they'd treat his illness with radiation
- >All you knew was that the Hulk was created with radiation, so you responded as such
- "You mean Dad's gonna be a super hero?!"
- >It took you years to realize what was really happening
- >You reach the end of the hall and grab the door handle
- >With a deep breath, you push open the door
- >An old, tired-looking pegasus sits in the bed, reading a newspaper
- >He turns to meet his visitor and smiles when he sees you
- "Hey Dad."
- >"Hello Anon. I knew you'd visit, I just didn't think it'd take this long."
- >You walk beside the bed and crouch, cupping his hoof in your hands
- >"You know, I forgive you for leaving. You did what you had to do."
- >You can feel tears welling up as you nod
- >You ask the same question you would ask every time you visited before the incident
- "Are you a super hero yet, Dad?"
- >He chuckles and reaches over with his free hoof, placing it on top of your hands
- >"I'm trying, son...I'm trying."
- >A tear runs down your cheek and you smile
- >He wraps his hooves around your neck and you return the hug, tears streaming down your cheeks
- "I'm sorry I left, Dad."
- >"I forgive you son. I'll always forgive you."
- >The hug lasts for what feels like hours, but is really only a few minutes
- >You rise, wiping the tears from your eyes, and turn towards the door
- >"Hey..."
- >You look back at your father for what seems like the last time
- >"We're all gonna make it, son."
- >This nearly sends you back into tears, but you hold it in
- >You nod to him and leave, closing the door behind you
- >As you exit the hospital, you take a deep breath and sigh
- >You smile and look to the sky as you repeat your father's words
- "We're all gonna make it."
- End.
