  1. >You sit down and prepare to tell her what you had prepared
  2. >Then, it hits you
  3. >Like being kicked in the face by an ass
  4. >You are suddenly very afraid of the world around you
  5. >Your magic should not work
  6. >You learned all the Latin and Greek at the behest of your mentor
  7. >And when you said your incantation in the old world
  8. >You just had some tricks ready to go
  9. >With flash powder and perhaps the occasional chemical reaction
  10. >And followed the motions
  11. >These things should not work
  12. >The incantations were just for show
  13. >And only historians would understand them
  14. >And your theorum should not work either
  15. >So much was out of circumstance here
  16. >The horses should not speak
  17. >They are supposed to be beasts of burden
  18. >For working
  19. >Not capable of speech
  20. >Nor should not be capable of thought
  21. >They were caring
  22. >They had emotions too
  23. >Or so it seemed
  24. >And this world
  25. >You had yet to fend off any beasts
  26. >This world frightens you
  27. >Not for what you have found here
  28. >But rather for a lack of what you have found here
  29. >And it must have shone upon your grisly facade
  30. >Twilight looks at you, her soft purple eyes staring deep inside you
  31. >"Anon, what's the matter?"
  32. Nothing, dear Twilight....I...
  33. >You fade to silence
  34. >You were unsure what to say
  35. >The world you once knew is gone
  36. >And with all that is here
  37. >You take your head into your hands and begin to cry
  38. >"Anon, are you certain nothing's the matter?"
  39. Twilight, how would you feel...if someone had sent you to deal with a dragon, and you suddenly found yourself in a place where your magic works when it should not, and find yourself amongst monkeys who speak when they should not?
  40. >"I...uh....I imagine that must be terrifying for you, Anon. I'm sorry...if there's anything I can-"
  41. No no...I do not know as though there is anything you can do. I just must move forward and accept that I may never get home.
  42. >"Oh...I feel so guilty! I wish there was something I could do for you!"
  43. That is alright...I will simply get on with our lesson...now, if you could turn to-ah, I am forgetting myself, you do not have the text that I do! Here, allow me to write. Mind if I use this...what ever it might be?
  44. >"The black board? Sure!"
  45. Excellent! Now, how do I write on this thing?
  46. >It also occurs to you that you had the good fortune to end up in a world of horses that talk English
  47. >It might have been something like Assyrian, or Hebrew, or some other like language you did not know
  48. >"You take this chalk, the white stick, and drag it across the board, like an ink and quill, except you don't need to re-wet the quill!"
  49. This is a marvel! What else do they have here that might be of interest?
  50. >The little one gets a beam of light from her eyes, and her smile could illuminate the night to day
  51. >"Wonderful! I will show you some of them later! But for now, can we get to my lesson?"
  52. Absolutely. Now then, without further ado...
  53. >You start writing complex theorums on the board
  54. >She gives you a sideways glance
  55. >"Anon, why are you using extro-warlock when you could easily do it intro and channel the magic a pass further into more powerful spells?"
  56. Because, that would further limit my spell potential. That is to say, what I can cast. Tell me, can you cast anything concerning shapeshifting?
  57. >"Well....no, that's left to the changelings here-"
  58. Vobis factus timore!
  59. >She turns into a standard horse, with no horn
  60. >"AHHHHHH! Anon, what have you done to me?"
  61. I have demonstrated the power of using extro-warlock as opposed to internal.
  62. >You still marvel at the fact you have actual magic
  63. >Not the elaborate schemes you used to put on for the king at court
  64. >"You turned me into an Earth Pony! I always wondered what this would feel like, and it feels clausterphobic! Change me back!"
  65. As you wish, Twilight.
  66. Factus tuum verum ipse!
  67. >This would have ruined the sham back in the court
  68. >There was no way, no matter how hard you tried, could you pull this off
  69. >She turns back into what they call a 'unicorn'
  70. >You realize you are now thankful for your mentor urging you study all the incantations
  71. >You did not believe in all this
  72. >But now, you'll have to work to remember it all
  73. >You do not have any of your books
  74. >And you are fairly certain that they did not have a form of Latin or Greek here
  75. >"How...how did you manage that?"
  76. It is simple, really. I speak the words of a tongue long lost to my people, and another which may exist in some part of the world. Those seem to act as my focal points here.
  77. >"Really? You're that arcane? I just think spells to life, and they work flawlessly-"
  78. You waste some of your potential, Twilight Sparkle. Though, this may work well as you have latent ability, for one like myself without any sort of natural focal point, like your horn, the voice acts as both for me.
  79. >"Well, if you teach me how to incant externally...I could teach you internal incantation, it's not too hard."
  80. I think this is suitable. I wonder if it will limit my magic to the same degree as you.
  81. >"There's one way to find out!"
  82. >This will have to await another day, sadly
  83. I have just remembered, the Princess summoned me a week after settling in, and that will be today.
  84. We will continue this tomorrow. I assure you.
  85. >You walk outside, a definite feeling of sadness overtaking you
  86. >You realize you will never see your beautiful lady again
  87. >You realize you have lost much that is dear to you and all that remains is what you hold in this world
  88. >Your cloak, your hat, and a few of your crystals
  89. >They were designed to hold a soul
  90. >You are not certain there will be call for it now
  91. >You board the train, only to sit next to that yellow mare that cannot stop thinking about copulation
  92. >"W-Will you ever g-give me a shot, Anon? I wanna t-take you for a ride, m-mister!"
  93. Fluttershy, thou asketh me something towit I cannot oblige. I shant engage in coitus with an equine.
  94. >"Oh...b-but what if..."
  95. >She stops to pull up some stockings she was wearing
  96. >"Socks are your fetish?"
  97. Fluttershy, my dear pegasus, I will be unable to please thee in the method thou desires. It simply is not within me.
  98. >"B-But, I thought I had it this time...."
  99. >She yelps and hides behind her mane
  100. >You tussle her hair with your hand
  101. There there, little one. I will never hurt you or scare thou...well, scare thee intentionally.
  102. >It occurs to you that your language is slipping to that of when you were younger
  103. >Always happens when you are stressed
  104. >You feel a pain in your head
  105. >"Are you alright, you don't look so well..."
  106. >You do feel rather faint
  107. >You fall over
  108. >As you awaken, you see you are being tended to by the yellow pegasus
  109. >She has quite the thing for taking care of people
  110. >Rather endearing, if you do say so yourself
  111. >"Don't y-you worry anon, we'll get y-you fixed up...and then *mumble*..."
  112. >You do not even bother to ask what she hath said
  113. >You are feeling weak
  114. >You are rolled into the Infirmary
  115. >You get one of the charletan doctors of the realm
  116. >"He'll be fine, he appears to be experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder..."
  117. >What is this Stress 'disorder' they speakest of?
  118. At the behest of my conscience, what is this...disorder?
  119. >"It's whenever you go through something traumatic and begin to have inexplicable changes in your being, be it mentally or otherwise."
  120. >This would explain much of what you have experienced thus far
  121. >You feel as though you should work to bring yourself up to snuff
  122. Prithee, doctor, might we speak to the Princess of the Night for English lessons?
  123. >"I can see about setting that up!" A familiar voice calls
  124. >She trots up beside you and Fluttershy
  125. >It was Twilight Sparkle after all
  126. >"Anon, I heard what happened...I know we're not your true family, but we will be there no matter what."
  127. >"Yeah! Especially being loyal! You could say that's my job." A cyan pegasus you had not previously noticed chirped
  128. >They seem to be such a happy sort here
  129. >Her mane appeared to be a rainbow of colors
  130. >Like Joeseph's coat
  131. >You sit up in bed
  132. >You feel like you belong
  133. >For what may be the first time ever in your life
  134. And, my good pegasus, might I ask what thy name is?
  135. >"Rainbow Dash is the name, speedemon is my game!"
  136. >Demon
  137. >This could get interesting....
  138. >"No no no, not demon-" Twilight protests but is interrupted
  139. >Her face looks like she's hiding something
  140. >"What are you talking about-" Rainbow tries interrupting
  141. >"His culture may have a thing for the demons of old. Do you wanna push it?"
  142. >"Oh...I guess not..." Rainbow stated, dejected, perhaps a bit silly
  143. >Rainbow's face seemed flush
  144. >Embarassed, perhaps
  145. >But demons....
  146. >There was something you had not been asked about in quite some time
  147. >You thought them to be lost to the ages
  148. >But many people were asking for exorcisms from the priests in the days before you left
  149. >You are brought back to the present with one of the horses saying something about time for her lesson
  150. >Ah right, Twilight
  151. Twilight, thou asketh me a difficult question. I wish to teach thee, but I seem unable to find it within me to hold this lesson with such a wretched headache.
  152. >"Your head hurts?"
  153. Indeed, little one, it does. I will take care of it later, just need to remember my incantation...
  154. >"But incantations are so pass-"
  155. Not now! I am trying to concentrate, Twilight.
  156. >You continue to think of the words as you walk home
  157. You know Twilight, I have been thinking...I will craft a staff!
  158. >She gasps
  159. >"A staff? What for?"
  160. Why, to be my focal point naturally. The voice can only act for so much.
  161. >It was about this time that a bluish mare with familiar tattoo on her flank trotted up
  162. >"YOU!" she shouted
  163. >"You've been shierking your teaching duties to the Great and Powerful Trixie!"
  164. You have not even asked me the first day with which you would like a lesson.
  165. >"Uh....the Great and Powerful Trixie-"
  166. Will become the Great and Silent Trixie if thou continues to interrupt me with thy drivel!
  167. >Wait a minute
  168. >You think the lights dimmed
  169. >You might have actually used a spell of projection on your voice without meaning to
  170. >She cowers on the ground
  171. >"P-Please, don't hurt the Great and Humble Trixie!"
  172. >"That's the Trixie I know!" Twilight chortles
  173. Twilight, you are not helping things here.
  174. >She can tell you mean what you say
  175. >You grin at Twilight
  176. >She grins at you
  177. >You both leave Trixie there
  178. >You head home, take your cloak off, and put the kettle on to boil
  179. >You feel as though something is amiss, but cannot put your finger on it
  180. >You shrug
  181. >After all, with the tale you have had this day
  182. >You take the kettle off when it begins to squeal like a banshee
  183. >You begin steeping some green tea
  184. >That Fluttershy creature, darling as she was, gave it to you
  185. >Said it was an 'Equestrian Staple'
  186. >What ever she meant by that, you will not know
  187. >As you sit to relax in your favorite sitting chair, you hear a faint yelp
  188. >You look around, suspiciously
  189. >Something is rotten in Denmark
  190. >You decide to try a spell out
  191. >You remember pulling this over on the king many a year ago
  192. >And he believed it
  193. >Imagine if he could see you performing true magic
  194. >His smug face would melt
  195. >You whisper the words that would give you insight
  196. Nota sit me!
  197. >You can see an outline of one of the pegasus behind your chair
  198. I can see you, you know. I am a wizard, known in my lands as a magician.
  199. >You hear a faint yelp
  200. >You walk over to discover...
  201. Fluttershy. Now, are we going to need to discuss why it is you may not live within our quarters? Be gone at once.
  202. >She runs off, mumbling some nonsense about getting you yet
  203. >What ever she means by that is a question you must ask her one day
  204. >You hang your hat up on the wall
  205. >You think over the last several days events
  206. >You are Anonymous
  207. >And you are now faced with a realization
  208. >You can be the hero this realm deserves
  209. >But the question remained
  210. >Were you the one it needed?
  211. >These were ridiculous questions.
  212. >You fell asleep later that night
  213. >Dreaming of things you did not understand
  214. >You awoke with a fright the next morning
  215. >You put your cloak on, and set out to make a staff
  216. >You go to find an oak tree
  217. >For it must be made of oak
  218. >And the crowning crystal would be made from one of your collection that survived the journey
  219. >You find a suitible tree and branch
  220. >But you will need rope to get down the bough
  221. >You wonder who in this realm would have rope
  222. >As it was meant for hands, but-
  223. >"Howdy y'all! Haven' seen your kind around here before! Mah name's Applejack, wuts yours?"
  224. My name is Anonymous, and I am a magician from my place of old, except now my tricks are magic incarnate.
  225. >"Uhhh....right. Whatcha doin' here?"
  226. I am trying to get that branch down.
  227. >"Well why didn't ya just say so!"
  228. >She ropes the bough and drags it to the ground
  229. >She is quite strong for one of these miniature horses
  230. Thank you, dear...Applejack. Perhaps I will come by later and show you some tricks.
  231. >"That sounds great Aye-non! Take care now, ya hear?"
  232. I shall endeavor to that end, dear Applejack.
  233. >"Eh-heh....okay bye!"
  234. >She trots off
  235. >You have this branch
  236. >And it shall be perfect
  237. >You drag it home
  238. >This will take some time to carve down to exactly how you wish it to look
  239. >You will begin this project tomorrow
  240. >You have more serious things to take care of
  241. >For instance, making your doors and windows more resiliant to the mare sitting in the middle of the room
  242. >"G-G-Good morning, Anon....did you l-like your surprise?"
  243. Fluttershy, I do not remember getting a surprise. What surprise was it to be?
  244. Aside from which, what are you doing in my house again?
  245. >"Oh, I was just m-making your bed and t-t-trying to get to know you better-"
  246. Fluttershy, stop there. You can do a myriad of other possibilities to know me better.
  247. Not breaking into my home. And I presume you want me to engage in coitus with thee?
  248. >"Well, I'd l-l-love that..."
  249. >She displays her plumage
  250. >You think this would be the best time to leave
  251. >Something stays your hand
  252. >Right the fact you have magic of almost limitless potential
  253. Extra meum domo!
  254. >She appears outside your domicile
  255. >Worked according to plan
  256. >You begin barring your windows with what you can find, and you barricade the door
  257. >If she gets in through this, she is indeed magic herself
  258. >You can just try your teleportation spell that had not worked on earth
  259. Accipe me platea!
  260. >You flash away and find yourself in the town square of Ponyville
  261. >You dust yourself off and seek a place to eat
  262. >Do they have taverns here?
  263. >You see a gingerbread house
  264. >It just may be that...
  265. >You walk in and are accosted by a pink miniature horse
  266. >"OHMYGOODNESSHIIMPINKIEPIEWHATSYOURNAMEAREYOUGOINGTOBUYSOMECUPCAKES-"
  267. >You put your finger upon her muzzle
  268. One question at a time, little one.
  269. >She asks you these questions in order and you answer them
  270. >"What's your name?"
  271. Anonymous, but it seems your kind has taken to shortening it to 'Anon'.
  272. >"Do you wanna buy some cupcakes?"
  273. No, but a spot of tea and some food for breakfast would do fine.
  274. >Her face breaks into a beaming smile when asked to make you some breakfast
  275. >As you are seated there, Fluttershy walks in with a white unicorn
  276. >The white one gasps
  277. >"Oh...my...stars! Just look at the way he's dressed, Fluttershy! He simply must be given new clothes!"
  278. >The town seamstress
  279. A pleasure meeting you, Lady....?
  280. >"The name's Rarity, but I could be a lady with a pony of my sophistication."
  281. >She beams at you, batting her eyelashes at you
  282. And my name is-
  283. >"Yes darling, I caught your name, Anon."
  284. >She seems entranced with you
  285. >Her sapphires for eyes piercing your veil of cloak and beard
  286. So I am to take that you are the town seamstress?
  287. >"Seamstress? Heavens, no! I'm a designer of the finest garments, and Ponyville's premier clothier!"
  288. My apologies, Rarity. I did not mean to offend thee.
  289. >She smiles at you
  290. >You return to eating your delicious breakfast
  291. >She has made you some manner of flapjack or other breakfast cake
  292. >Rainbow Dash and Twilight enter the eatery
  293. >You had not ever seen them all in the same place
  294. >All that was missing now was that peasant miniature horse named-
  295. >Applejack had arrived as well now
  296. >They appeared to be the best of friends as they chattered away over breakfast
  297. >Rarity, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash looking over at you with a smile occasionally
  298. >The other three were incapable of doing so because they had their backs to you
  299. >You give them a polite smile and go back to eating
  300. >Fluttershy continues to stare at you
  301. >She appears to have some sort of obsession with you
  302. >You pay her no mind and finish
  303. >You walk out and hope that you are not followed
  304. >You go back to the grove to which you remember arriving here
  305. >You get on your knees
  306. >You feel rather at peace here
  307. >It was a place for you to think and remain undisturbed
  308. >You sit there for what feels like mere minutes
  309. >But in actuality it is getting close to dark
  310. >You get yourself together and head for your home
  311. >As you arrive, you remember that you cannot enter it physically
  312. >Your memory falters for a moment
  313. Tollite me, intra mea domum!
  314. >You wait a moment, and concentrate again
  315. >Shouting louder than before
  316. Tollite me, intra mea domum!!
  317. >You fizzle and appear in your home
  318. >Must have something to do with the whole matter of volume
  319. >You make a note that your spells take more shouting in the evening
  320. >You head up to draw water for a bath
  321. >Another of the horses' many innovations
  322. >They called it running water
  323. >It baffled you that they would call it running if it did not actually run anywhere
  324. >You turned it on and the water even heated itself
  325. >You did not have to heat it up manually
  326. >You settle into the bath and get your thoughts straight
  327. >You are going to need to find some form of toil here to make your way
  328. >You cannot honestly expect your newfound friends to pick it up for you
  329. >You begin musing places that might have need of human dexterity
  330. >You had not seen a single clock here or else that'd be a posssibility
  331. >A grin crosses your face
  332. >You wondered if the horses here called them hooves instead of hands
  333. >You continue to think
  334. >Perhaps someone needed you to tutor the young ones in magic?
  335. >Speaking of magic, you hear a knock at the door
  336. Go away. I am preoccupied with personal matters.
  337. >"THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE DEMANDS YOUR PRESENCE THIS INSTANT!"
  338. >Your anger seethes
  339. >You yell with the force of a thousand tournament criers
  340. TRIXIE YOU WILL WAIT, BE PATIENT, AND MOST OF ALL RESPECT YOUR ELDERS WHEN ADDRESSING THEM!
  341. >The lights return to their previous luminosity
  342. >You really needed to get a handle on your anger
  343. >You wish there were some forms of your old world's entertainment here
  344. >You were rather bored
  345. >And these horses have no concept of boundaries
  346. >Be they personal or otherwise
  347. >You sat and thought to yourself once more
  348. >You are the only man here, are you not?
  349. >And these horses claim to never have seen another man
  350. >Yet their behavior indicates so
  351. >Especially the yellow one, Fluttershy took such liking to you
  352. >And you had only been here little less than two days
  353. >These horses were horrid at times, and at others just great
  354. >You let the water out of your bath
  355. >You dress yourself in your sleeping clothes
  356. >It was time for sleep
  357. >You awoken to a crash outside
  358. >Zounds! It was a creature of gargantuan proportion
  359. >It appeared to have constellations all over its body
  360. >It appears you are going to have your first true test of your magic
  361. >You stand before the beast and wonder what its weakness might be
  362. >You come to a conclusion
  363. Lightning...
  364. >Your hands tingle with lightning from the heavens
  365. Accipiam vos!
  366. >You watch the lightning shoot from your fingertips at the massive ursa
  367. >You watch it collapse to the ground holding its chest
  368. >You must have done quite some damage
  369. >The beast collapses, presumably dead
  370. >Fluttershy appears
  371. >Your lightning dissipates
  372. Fluttershy, I did what I had to, this beast would have torn me limb from limb, drawn and quartered me even.
  373. >"T-That's okay, m-mister, I'm just glad you were brave enough to d-do what needed doing..."
  374. >She forces a smile
  375. >Poor little one
  376. >You felt so bad for her
  377. >You walk about your day
  378. >You come across a younger horse
  379. >She had a mane of purple and wings that looked smaller than the rest
  380. >You were not sure this was a young one
  381. >Or one that had not yet come of age
  382. >She looks nervous
  383. Good day, little one. I am Anonymous, what is your name?
  384. >"M-my name is Scootaloo..."
  385. Oh my. That will not do.
  386. >You turn your head at her
  387. Are you a young one?
  388. >"HEY! I AM NOT A FILLY AND I AM NOT A CHICKEN!"
  389. >Her face would kill you right now, if looks were able
  390. >You feel as though it would be best to go about your business
  391. Good day, Scootaloo.
  392. >You walk past her
  393. >She seems confused
  394. >You walk past Rainbow Dash's home in the sky
  395. >You did not realize that such things were possible
  396. >Her entire home is made from clouds
  397. >This seems like something of an old wizard's tale
  398. >You walk onward, ready for almost anything today
  399. >Twilight Sparkle happens upon you
