Title: Beating Hearts Chapter 5: Calm before the Storm Author: Diddo Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/EKp9uunV First Edit: Monday 30th of June 2014 12:42:38 PM CDT Last Edit: Monday 30th of June 2014 12:42:38 PM CDT >You look over the crowed of maybe 300 ponies all cheering your name >“Vinyl, Vinyl, Vinyl” they cheered >This brought a smile to your face as you continue to play your music >A much louder voice came over the cheering “Vinyl” >It was still saying your name so you really didn’t care, it came back over the crowds cheering >“Vinyl” It came again “Yes, say my name more” >The voice seemed to stop for a few minutes before it came again, this time much loader >“VINYL!” “WHAAA!”       >Vinyl falls out of ‘her’ bed and lands on the floor with a thud, followed by an oof. You are standing need her bed laughing. Before you speak again you make sure you weren’t going to laugh again “Good Dream?” you ask >“Shut up…” vinyl moans still on the floor >This makes you laugh again, and vinyl blush a little       >It has been over half a year since vinyl’s first show at the club. After about the third time she went she became a regular for shows. Every time she would have a show on, the club would be sold out, which made the manager very happy, and vinyl as well but for a different reason >Vinyl was just happy that her music was being heard and liked by so many people. The manager was just happy that he was getting paid a lot of bits for it. He was a little skeptical when she first started but as soon as the fans demanded her, the letters would come in asking her to play more. If this keeps up she might even be able to release a CD. >You try to go as much as possible to support your friend, but one can only take so much of the load music and drunken ponies. It’s not so much the ponies that bother you, you have dealt with drunks before, its just the music gets so load along with the cheering that leaves you with a headache. >One Night, she came back from the club shitfaced, and her apartment was another few blocks down the street, so you decided to let her stay here. That was 3 months ago, you don’t mind but the jokes that shots makes are getting annoying.       >Vinyl brings you out of your thoughts by asking something, but you didn’t hear her “Pardon?” >”Why did you wake me up, I was having the best dream?” she ask now back in ‘her’ bed “Alright one, it’s like three in the afternoon. And two, we are almost out of food, want anything special?” you ask >She thinks for a minute before replying “I was up until six last night, thank you very much.” >You roll your eyes at her. Dose she not remember who walked her drunk ass back here last night? “Yeah yeah, do you want anything special or not?” >she huffs at you before she speaks again “Just get some more energy drinks and Cheetos” >This makes you chuckle a little “That’s not that healthy you know” >She shrugs then goes into the drawer and pulls out a big sac of bits from her gigs with her magic and tosses it to you “A little much for just groceries isn’t it?” you ask >vinyl just shrugs and lays back in the bed to fall back asleep >You smile and shake your head as you leave your room and head downstairs       >Coming into the next room, you see shots wiping down the bar and give him a wave, which he reply’s with a nod >You walk up to him and sit on the stool, vinyl won’t be up for another two or so hours so you have time. “How have you been shots?” you ask as he is getting your morning ‘coffee’ ready >”Oh, you know, nothing really changes much here. Other than vinyl that is” “That’s true I guess, but who knew that the mare that played one time here, would be able to play in a club so quickly?” >”Life is full of surprises anon, who knew that you would show up in equestrian?” “That’s also true, but it’s the best thing that has happen to me” you say as shots puts the coffee on the table >”heh, yeah you wouldn’t have met your mare friend upstairs” shots jokes “Haha…” you say taking a drink of your coffee >You and shots continue your conversation for another ten or so minutes until you were done your coffee then you had to say goodbye and head toward the shops, which was mostly uneventful. Other than seeing a certain purple pony and avoiding her as much as possible. >On the way back to your apartment you notice the shop you bought the glasses from. You haven’t seen that old mare for a while now, and wanted to catch up a little. >You walk in and see a white pony with a dark blue and pink mane and tail, with bright blue eyes. She looks at you with a curious look before she spoke >”Uh, sorry sir, but we don’t open for another week” she looks a little scared, seeing as she never met you yet. You give her a kind smile which seems to calm here a little “There was an older mare who owned the shop before, do you know where she is?” you ask >The mare loses her smile and lowers her head. You put two and two together “Oh… I’m very sorry” >she looks up at you with a small smile “No no, it’s OK. She would have liked the store to keep running” “So, now that your running this show, what are you going to be selling?” >That got her spirits up, she talks about how she was going to be selling and making candy for a living with her friend Lyra who will also be playing music with her harp. The mare, bon bon, is the granddaughter of the old mare and was next to have the store, seeing as it was family owned >This conversation goes on for a few minutes before you have to go back to the apartment. You walk all the way there with nothing eventful happened       >Back at the bar, you head up to your room, not before giving shots a quick wave of course, to meet up with vinyl and put away the items. > opening the door, you see vinyl pouring herself a bowl of cereal still half asleep. You smirk as you go over to help her before she spills milk all over the table and floor "Still tired?" You ask > she lets out a yawn as her answer, you smirk more "Alright get Into bed before you make a mess, you still have to work tonight" > vinyl nods slowly and moves back over to her bed. You make a quick breakfast and bring it over to her "Whens your next break?" You ask holding a spoonful of cereal to her mouth > vinyl takes it and eats it slowly before answering "tomorrow till next Saturday i believe" "You need it, after you rest for a couple of days, we can go out somewhere, you still owe me lunch" > this makes vinyl smile tiredly before taking another bite of cereal. > you help vinyl eat in silence for a little bit before she finishes and falls back asleep. > you get up and look down on the sleeping vinyl scratch "Sleep well vinyl, you only have one more night to go" > you leave to let vinyl sleep in peace
