Title: The non-molestation of Noi by Anon Author: Dickwaffle Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/46Vs8Vak First Edit: Monday 1st of September 2014 04:31:06 PM CDT Last Edit: Monday 1st of September 2014 04:31:06 PM CDT >You look down at the little filly, and she stares back up hopefully, bar of chocolate in her mouth. >"Pweafe? I juff need a few more bits!" >It's a cold winter night and there's no way she's going to sell enough to stay anywhere indoors at this hour. "I can't let such a cute filly stay in an orphanage. Come on, you can stay here." >Her eyes light up >She even drops the chocolate. >"Really? You mean it? I get a real bed and everything?" >You smile down at her, and reach down to muss her mane. "Yep, now come in, I'll get started on dinner." >In her excitement she rushes into your house without her chocolate >You pick up the little basket of chocolate bars, and close the door behind her. >You set her little basket down on the coffee table, and look for the little filly >She's gone around the couch, her hooves paffing against the carpet as she looks around the room "Hey, come on, settle down! There's time to look around later." >She stops, and looks worried for just a moment. >"Sorry, I'm sorry, I really want to stay, please don't-" "It's okay. Come on, let's start on dinner. What do you want to eat?" >She stares, dumbfounded for a moment. >"I get to pick?" >You smile at her, even if her disbelief over it is a little sad. >"Of course. Let's go see what there is." >She follows you to the kitchen, her eyes wide and seemingly in a daze. >You show her the pantry and the fridge, and she stares in wonder at all the food. "So, see anything you like?" >She looks up at you, and then back at the jars and boxes of food. >"Anything? Can you... can we make a cake?" >You smile at the filly, and then think of something >You open a nearby cabinet, and pull down the silly chef hat that Pinkie gave you as a joke. >You set it on the little filly's head, and she grins happily, ready to try her hoof at cooking. >A short time (and one failed attempt) later, you have a fairly decent cake between the two of you >Glasses of milk and a poorly shaped, sloppily iced cake for dinner >But she eats happily, laughing at your milk mustache when you drink, and eating way too much cake for her size >She's also a complete mess, with frosting all over her muzzle and hooves >But she smiles so brightly that you can't fault her for it. >you do stop her after her third slice, and tell her that the cake will still be around tomorrow >She nods, even though there's a little doubt there >"I'm sorry for making a big mess..." "That's fine, uh... oh, I haven't asked your name." >She smiles again, her face brightening. >"I'm Noi! I know it's a weird name." "It's not too weird. I'm Anon, that's weirder." >She giggles. >You stand up, and then pick her up lightly around the barrel. "You can't walk around on messy hooves, Noi. Come on, time to get clean." >Noi squirms a little as you pick her up, but then settles down and lets you carry her. >She looks around curiously as you walk through the small house >When she spots the single bedroom, her face falls. >"Oh. You only got one bed?" >Oh, right. Whoops. "For now. But I'll get you another one. It's a two bedroom house, and the other one's still empty." >Her eyes go wide. >"I get my own ROOM?!" >You laugh, even as her amazement points to a hard life for the poor filly. "You do! As long as you want to stay here, you can have that room." >She stares at the room as you pass by it, as if she's not sure what to think >You get to the bathroom, and set her down in the tub as you start running the bath >She glances at you, and then at the water, and then back to you >Once you get the right temperature, you plug the tub and let it start filling. "Now, can you get all clean yourself?" >She looks up at you >You can't help but feel like she's trying to figure something out >After a few seconds, she smiles again. >"Can you help? I can't reach my back." >You smile, and let the water fill just enough to work. >You splash water at her, and she suddenly laughs and splashes back >It's suddenly half wrestling and half washing >She squirms and squeals as you splash water over her back, and wash her mane and tail >She laughs and kicks water all over the place while you rub the washcloth over her muzzle and forelegs >By the end of the bath, the bathroom is sort of a mess, and your clothes are all soaked through >She seems to notice that just as she's done being washed, and she gets that nervous look again >"I'll clean up! Please, please don't make me leave!" >You look down at the poor, terrified filly, and down at your clothes, soaked and maybe with a bit of icing here and there. "*We* can clean up, Noi. You haven't had a bath in a while, and we were just having fun, right?" >She stares up at you, mouth hanging open, and then jumps up and hugs you around the neck >You hug her back, before setting her down and taking one of your new, fluffy towels, and rubbing it all over her while she laughs. >It takes maybe half an hour to clean the bathroom >You hold the filly up to dry the parts of the wall that got wet, and help her clean up the cake frosting that got in weird places >Afterwords, you lead and she follows along behind you, to your bedroom >You just quickly change clothes, but you hear a high-pitched filly-yawn behind you as you do >It has gotten late, with all the baking and bathing. >Well, that's fine. >you put a fresh shirt on, and then reach down and pick Noi up again >She squeals and laughs, running in the air >"No! Anon, you caught me!" "Come on, I know it's late and you're tired. Time for bed." >"But I wanna stay uuhh-aaahm." >She's interrupted by a yawn, and then blushes just a little. >You set her down on your bed >She looks at the covers, and then scootches down in them a bit, laying her head back on her pillow. >"Did you know I'm the best pillow fighter? That's what my cutie mark is for!" "Is that right?" >She giggles, but then shakes her head. >"I don't know! I got my cutie mark but I'm not sure what I can do with it." "Well, you have plenty of time to find out. But not tonight." >You ruffle her mane, and then stand up, heading for the door. >A small voice stops you. >"Wait, where are you gonna sleep?" "There's a couch in the living room. I'll be okay for one night." >Noi shakes her head quickly, and scoots over to the side of the bed. >"Stay here! Please? I promise I'll be good and sleep!" >It's a little weird, she's young, and she's not formally adopted or anything. >But she doesn't mean anything by it. >You crawl into bed with her, and after a second she hug you around the neck again >She sniffles a little, and you squeeze her gently. >"Thank you. I really, really, really-really mean it." >But as soon as she finishes thanking you, she's out like a light. >Noi comes bursting through the door in the late afternoon, wearing her silly Crusaders cape. >Yes, even though she has her mark already. >She lights up as she sees you sitting on the couch >She gallops over and takes a flying leap up into your lap >This has the side effect of scattering your clerical work for town hall all over the place >But that's okay, sometimes >"Dad! Guess what! Apple Bloom got her cutie mark!" "Really? How is it?" >"It's great! She was so happy and her family was there and it was so much fun! Pinkie Pie even threw an apple party!" >You cuddle your daughter close, and she laughs and nuzzles your neck >She pushes her hooves against your chest, and you let her go. >"Um... a colt asked me to be his special somepony today. It was Rumble, he's really nice, and I... can I?" >Rumble? >Oh right, a gray pegasus. >Yeah, he's a nice enough colt, you guess, and about her age. "Well... we'll see. I'll have to talk to him first, okay? And no dates alone for a while." >She squeals happily and hugs you again. >Normally her hugs only last a happy second or two, but this one lingers. >She rests against you, her soft fur under your hands and her small body pressed to your chest. >"Dad, I really..." "What is it, Noi?" >Her voice cracks a little, but she doesn't sound sad >"Thank you, dad! You're the best dad ever! I love you so, so much!" >You cuddle your daughter closer, and squeeze her gently. >You know this isn't about Rumble >It's not about the Crusaders, or anything else from today. >She doesn't think about it much, but you know she does remember her life before you. "I know, Noi. You're the best little filly in the world, and I love you too."   Happy End. There, maybe I feel a bit better now.
