  1. >You're starting to think you've gone crazy, and that you're locked up somewhere hallucinating all this.
  2. >There's no possible way this is happening
  3. >You're standing in front of a cottage owned by a pegasus
  4. >A unicorn just walked out of the cottage
  5. >It's purple
  6. >You're pretty sure horses don't come in purple
  7. >They both have tattoos on their flanks
  8. >This can't be happening
  9. >Still, you don't have any way of knowing whether or not this is real
  10. >You decide to just roll with it
  11. >After all, if you're crazy, there's nothing you personally can do about it
  12.
  13. >The unicorn walks up to you, with the pegasus hiding behind her
  14. >From the way she's walking, breathing quickly, and keeping her eyes on you, she seems pretty excited
  15. >"ADJICAO SELO UZRIFA!"
  16. What?
  17. >"Thralo nit richutao fe najisca?"
  18. I don't understand.
  19. >Her head droops down and she goes into heavy thought
  20. >A lightbulb appears over her head
  21. >wat
  22. >It's glowing
  23. >doublewat
  24. >It disappears when she lifts her head up to look at you
  25. >She makes a "thataway" gesture with her head, and starts walking down a path
  26. >You assume she wants you to come with her
  27. >So, being the adventurous sort you are, you follow her
  28.
  29. >After a couple of whiles, you come to a hill
  30. >"Th'tulo craetal!"
  31. >The unicorn gallops to the top of the hill and watches you
  32. >She's been talking the entire way
  33. >From the way she talked during the trip, it sounded like she was using different languages in the hopes of finding one you both knew
  34. >The only language you knew was English
  35. >You start walking at a faster pace to reach the crest of the hill
  36. >When you finally reach the top, you gasp
  37. >It's an entire city stretching over a plain a mile ahead
  38. >Pink buildings, smoke rising from chimneys, and, most importantly, civilization
  39. >Behind the town, a beautiful sunset sinks into the horizon
  40. >The sight looks like something out of a movie
  41. >A moment of silence passes as the you gaze into the beautiful sight before yourself
  42. >An scene flashes into your mind
  43. >In it, a camera behind your body rises from the ground, giving itself a birds-eye view you and the town
  44. >A title fades into the screen, its font reminiscent of an old western
  45. >It says "Confederate Anon in Equestria: The Guns of Luna"
  46. >Looks like a movie title-screen
  47. >Music begins to play; you guess this would be the theme of the movie
  48. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWB7_o6x6DA
  49. >"Akja?"
  50. >You shake your head and escape your trance
  51. >Your vision is back on the ground
  52. >You glance up in the sky, and see no words
  53. >And the only sound you hear is the singing of a few birds
  54. >You resume following the unicorn
  55.
  56. >The two of you enter town
  57. >You can hear the hustle and bustle of the city coming from all around you
  58. >Except, that is, for anywhere with a direct line of sight on you
  59. >Ponies drop whatever they're doing and whisper to each other when they see you, strange new creature, passing by
  60. >It feels just a bit awkward
  61. >Eventually, the two of you come to a large structure, built into and carved out of a tree
  62. >Somehow, the tree is still alive
  63. >You might not be a botanist, but you're pretty sure that carving a structure like that out of a tree would kill it
  64. >The unicorn walks up to the door
  65. >You know, now that you think about it, you're starting to wonder how she's going to open it
  66. >Ponies don't have opposable thumbs, an-
  67. >Holy shit her horn is glowing
  68. >Why is her horn glowing?
  69. >Is that even biologically possible
  70. >You're not a biologist, but you're pretty sure that isn't possible
  71. >THE DOOR IS MOVING ON ITS OWN
  72. >And the unicorn didn't even touch it!
  73. >Holy shitcocks
  74. >It used telekinesis on the door
  75. >And it was super effective
  76. >Your jaw drops
  77. >She looks at you like you're nuts
  78. >Like you've never seen someone open a door before
  79. >...
  80. >You compose yourself
  81. >She stands by the door, motioning with her head for you to come in
  82.
  83. >As you come in, you see shelves upon shelves of books
  84. >Did the paper come from this tree?
  85. >The shelves had to; the ones that aren't in the middle of the floor are carved into the walls
  86. >So, she took you to the town library
  87. >And the books carry the same almost-like-english-but-not-quite alphabet as you saw in the ruins
  88. >She shuts the door, and runs over
  89. >HOLY SHIT SHE DID IT AGAIN
  90. >Her horn is glowing
  91. >Books are floating around her
  92. >AND THEY'RE GLOWING TOO
  93. >You're not a physicist, but you're pretty sure that things don't just float
  94.
  95. *Edited 6/6/12 to change title-music
  96. >But then again, unicorns don't exist
  97. >So it's a moot point
  98. >Right
  99. >You just stand there, waiting for her to find whatever she's looking for
  100.
  101. >Finally, she looks up from her book
  102. >She motions to a chair, and you take it to mean that you're supposed to sit down in it
  103. >You nod, and sit down in the chair
  104. >Her eyes go back to the book, eagerly scanning the page, lapping up as much information as they could
  105. >A look of extreme concentration washes over her face when she looks up at you
  106. >The tip of her horn glows a vibrant purple
  107. >You know, this might not have been the greatest idea, maybe you sho-
  108. >It fires
  109. >It hits
  110. >Your head fucking explodes
  111. >You black out
  112.
  113. >When you come to, a clearly concerned unicorn is standing over you
  114. What...what happened?
  115. >"Can you understand me?"
  116. Of course I can, but what happened?
  117. >...
  118. >You put two and two together
  119. >"I cast a comprehension spell on you. It works by telekinetically taking in the meaning of what somep0ny is trying to say, and converts it into a language you can understand."
  120. You did what with the who-now?
  121. >"I used magic to make you understand what I'm saying," she says in a deadpan voice
  122. Oh!
  123. >That's pretty cool
  124. So magic exists here?
  125. >"Doesn't it exist where you're from?"
  126. Not at all.
  127. >Her eyes get big
  128. >"Magic doesn't exist where you're from?! Where are you from?"
  129. Earth. From what I can tell, this is a completely different world.
  130. >"Wait a minute, I need a quill and paper; this is too good to pass up. SPIKE!"
  131. >You lean back in the chair
  132. >You're going to be here a while
  133. >No reason not to be comfortable
