- >The last two weeks in the hospital bed have been pretty tortuous.
- >The days are long, with little entertainment.
- >The food consists of bland veggies that is never satisfying enough to your stomach.
- >That all changes today!
- >You are being admitted from the hospital.
- >Now your new life can begin in this still mysterious world.
- >Twilight offered to give you a tour around Ponyville once you could leave.
- >You feverishly agreed, interested in how things work around here after such a long rest.
- >She should show up anytime now to check you out of the hospital.
- >Voices outside the room raises your attention.
- >Both Twilight and the doctor walk in, both smiling.
- >”Ready to get out of that bed?” The doc asks.
- “Oh hell yes, I’ve been here way too long. I’ve been itchin for Twilight to show me around the place, and for some better food.”
- >The doctor smirks, agreeing with you about the food.
- >”Great! Get up, lets go!” Twilight exclaimed, hoof motioning you to get up.
- >You brush the sheets off and sit up, getting off of the bed and standing up.
- >Slight dizziness.
- “Alright, I’m good. lead the way Twilight!”
- >She brushes you off with her tail as she turns around, trotting out of your room.
- >That was strangely soft.
- >Did she notice? Oh well.
- >You follow her through the door, down some hallways and make your way to the entrance of the hospital.
- >All of this is new to you, never having been out of your room except to stretch your legs.
- >You continue through the door. The outside is bright, serene. Birds singing in the afternoon sun.
- >Ponies of all sorts going about their daily lives. Some looking back at you with slight confusion but continue on their way anyways.
- >These ponies seem to be quite comfortable with new species, not like how humans would react at all.
- >”Soooo where would you like go first?” Twilight asks politely.
- “Uhh, I don’t know, don’t really care either. This place doesn’t look like it has any ‘bad’ places.”
- >”It doesn’t! If you don’t mind, lets go to see my friends and introduce you to them first! I think they are gathering at Sugarcube Corner for one of Pinkie’s displays.”
- “Sounds good to me.”
- >You once again begin to follow Twilight down the path towards the center of town.
- >The architecture is quite strange, their colors so vivid. Not really your taste, but who cares about your opinion.
- >A little while later you approach what you assume is ‘Sugarcube Corner’. It is a building that looks sweet enough. Built up with all sorts of shit that congregate to form a house.
- >Coming closer to the door, Twilight speaks “Well this is it! Sugarcube Corner.”
- >”This is where my friend Pinkie Pie lives, she can be a little hyperactive so please forgive her if she makes you uncomfortable.”
- >You have little patience for lolsorandom kind of people. Hopefully she won’t be that bad.
- “Don’t worry about it, I can handle anyone with patience and understanding.”
- >Twilight gives you a devious grin, “You haven't seen Pinkie yet.”
- >She turns to the door and knocks.
- >A pink pony, who you assume is Pinkie, opens the door and yells “Hey Twilight! It’s so good to see you! Oh, and who is this? Your friend that you’ve been telling us about!? He certainly looks strange enough to fit the role! Anywho....COME IN!”
- *sigh*
- >This is definitely Pinkie.
- “Nice to meet you Pinkie!”
- >You hold out your hand to shake. Completely ignoring your hand, she comes in for a big hug.
- >Oh boy here we go. This is normally Jimmy’s job.
- >After about 10 seconds of hug, you push her away.
- “Thanks...” you say sarcastically.
- >”No problem!” she replied, jumping up and clapping her hooves, unphased by your obviously negative remark.
- >She flies through the door and motions for you and Twilight to enter.
- >Twilight looks at you and says “See what I mean?”
- “Yeah, I getcha.”
- >You enter the room. There are four other ponies there that you haven't met before. Contentedly waiting for you.
- >”Hello Twilight.” Says some southern accent type.
- >”Hey everyp0ny!” Twilight replies.
- >”There is someone I want you to meet.”
- >She grasps your sides, straining herself to walk you in front of her.
- >Thankfully, you are immune to the tickly side syndrome that plagues most humans.
- >”This is Anon. A human from a planet called Earth.”
- >They look skeptical, as far as you can tell. Not really sure what a ponies facial expressions really mean.
- >You look around at each one.
- >A light blue with a wildly colored mane, yellow one with a pink mane, orange one with a blonde mane, and a white one with a stylishly purple mane.
- “Sup.”
- >”Nothing much.” the blue one says, her tone unchanged throughout the phrase.
- >”Anon, these are my friends.” Twilight says, protruding her chest.
- >”Respectively, we have Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity.”
- >Pinkie interrupts and screams “PINKIE TOO!”
- >Twilight nods, “and Pinkie.”
- >Slightly annoyed by Pinkie you begin to speak.
- “So what do you guys do around here?”
- >Rainbow Dash speaks up, “Oh nothing, just being awesome as the fastest flyer in Equestria, but no big deal.”
- >Applejack shakes her head. “As Twilight said, mah name is Applejack, nice to meet yah too. ah work of the farm and buck apples all day.”
- >Buck apples? Okay, just go along with it Anon.
- “That sounds interesting, maybe we should go buck apples together one day.”
- >Implying you know what that means.
- >She chuckles, “Ah don’t know bout that, yah could try but it takes a lot of experience before yah can do anything worth the time it takes to train yah.”
- “I’m a very quick learner.”
- >That’s true, you do learn extremely quick. That is why you excelled so much in school. Also one of the reasons you could cope with the circumstances that have occurred in recent events.
- >Rarity butts into the self-boasting in your mind and begins to talk about herself.
- >”My name is Rarity. I run a fashion boutique store that is extremely popular amongst the most elegant citizens of Equestria.”
- >Like you give a fuck.
- >She looks at you, up and down.
- >”Oh darling, I think you may need my help as soon as possible.”
- >Unoffended, you reply.
- “I don’t know rarity, I don’t really give two fucks about how I’m dressed.”
- >Obviously offended, Rarity gasps, “Your language is in no way acceptable behavior, I only wanted to help a friend of Twilight’s.”
- >Twilight agrees and turns to you, “Anon, that wasn’t very considerate. Try to play nice with her”. Her tone of voice deepening into a serious remark.
- “Sorry Twilight, I may be a little blunt when I state my mind.”
- >She rolls her eyes while nodding.
- >Lastly, you turn to the yellow one, Fluttershy, you barely remember.
- “Fluttershy, its extremely nice to meet the prettiest mare in all of Ponyville!”
- >Blushing all over, she hides behind her bangs and creaks “Oh, I..I’m not the prettiest mare...b..but...thanks..”
- “Of course you are, don’t let anyp0ny tell you otherwise. Now what do you do for a living?”
- >Her face continues to stay red, “W..well..I take care of any critters that come along looking for help.I help them, and in return they allow me to use what they can offer me for supplies.” she says slowly increasing her volume.
- “That’s sweet, you should be proud.”
- >You turn around and look at Twilight once more.
- “Shall we continue the tour?”
- >”Uhmm yeah I guess so-” Twilight is interrupted again by Pinkie.
- >”Don’t you wanna know about me!?” Pinkie exclaims.
- >You glare at her dead in the face.
- “Not really.”
- >”What!? Oh, its okay. I will just talk to you at your welcoming party later tonight.”
- >You nod absently.
- “Wait, what?!”
- >”Yeah I’m throwing you a party for you to meet all of the other ponies in Ponyville!”
- “No you’re not.”
- >”Yes I am silly! I’ve already invited half the town to attend.”
- >You step closer to Pinkie, up in her face.
- >”Eww! Now I can see and hear you much clearer!”
- “Yes, I want to make you understand what I’m about to say, I am not going to any party. Not tonight, or anytime in the near future.”
- >”Wait why?” everyone in the room seems to say in unison.
- “I don’t have to explain myself to you, just know that this isn’t happening. Sorry to disappoint.”
- >Pinkie sighs. Obviously taking this the hardest. She slinks back to a corner of the room and sits down.
- >You proceed to walk out with Twilight.
- >*Wave*
- >The other ponies don’t react. Standing there confused, they must have never seen that gesture before.
- “It was nice seeing you ponies! Talk to you later.”
- >”Bye.” they state awkwardly, still trying to understand what you did with your hand.
- >You are now outside with Twilight, walking towards your next destination.
- >You don’t know where, but It is apparent that Twilight does. Shes off and walking fast.
- “So where are we going now?”
- >Ignoring you, her pace increases more, advancing ahead.
- >Surprisingly not a bad view. What? did you really just think that? It’s ok, move on.
- “Twilight?”
- >Something is amiss.
- “What’s wrong? Why aren't you speaking to me?”
- >”What did I say about being considerate?”
- “You said to act more considerate.”
- >”Yes...” she says frustrated with your mocking remark.
- >”You hurt Pinkie’s feelings in there.”
- “I just didn’t want a party.”
- >”I can understand that, I don’t really enjoy parties either, but you needed to let her down easier than that.”
- “Well yes, maybe, but I had to make it clear, I can tell she is a dense mare. Sorry once again Twilight, I belittled Pinkie back there in front of all of you ponies.”
- >”It’s okay Anon. Lets just continue now.”
- >She seems to have actually forgiven you because her pace slows and then moves back towards your side.
- >A couple hours pass while you and Twilight walk around and see the sights that Ponyville has to offer.
- >She takes you to the square, the marketplace, and the local day spa.
- >You notice how nice the place is kept, even by ponies, who wouldn’t normally be well kept animals. But these aren't exactly normal equines.
- >It begins to get dark.
- >”Well that’s it, how do you like Ponyville?”
- “Its quite the spectacle, I will tell you that. I’m really interested in this place, there are so many new things that I can learn about!”
- >”I know right?! When we get more time, we’re gonna have to compare our different societies.”
- >Societies, that may be tricky. You remember just how Earth is different. Crime, Greed, Strife. Not the best place in the universe, You clearly see that now.
- “I look forward to it!”
- >”Oh and, do you have a place to sleep?”
- >You completely forgot, no you’re a bum.
- “No, I haven’t really thought about it until now.”
- >”Well if you want, you can stay at my place until you find a way home, I live in a library.”
- >Your eyes widen. Holy shit, she lives in a library. Perfect.
- “Wow, Really! I would love that if you don’t mind. I love reading as well, It is one of my favorite hobbies.”
- >Her smiling increasing, “Hah! I knew you would love it!”
- >You walk her to your new home.
- >A tree! Brilliant!
- >She opens the door, allowing passage through the inside of the hollowed tree.
- >”Sorry, I don’t really have a bed for you right now. But I could bring over some sheets and you can sleep on the couch.”
- “That would be fine.”
- >She trots upstairs and you get a good look around the room.
- >Books line the shelves, spanning from each wall until the stairs. There must be soo much information here about ponies or equestrian history, or even magic. Magic!
- >You like the sound of that. Your world doesn’t contain any magic, maybe you can learn it here in this one.
- >You look through the books searching for beginning magic.
- “Ah hah! Here we go!”
- >’Magic for Dummies Vol 1’, this will do.
- >You scan through the front pages of the book.
- >Step 1: Clear the mind of any distractions.
- >Check.
- >Step 2: Concentrate on your horn and begin to sense its presence.
- >Okay, well. No horn, this may be tricky to understand.
- >You need a more appropriate book. Maybe ‘Magic for Dummies Vol 1: Human Edition’. Either way, you try what the book says.
- >Step 3: Clench your muscles but remember to breath and exert your magic to flow through your horn.
- >You begin clenching but you aren’t really sure where to focus the buildup.
- >Wait, there it is!
- “I think it’s working!”
- >You feel a strange sensation in your hands, continuing to strain yourself.
- “HNNHNHNNGGG.”
- >You open your eyes and peer down at your hands.
- >A blue aura appears over each of your fingers. Holy shit, this shit is real.
- >Twilight comes back downstairs with a pile of sheets. She stops, mid trot, and stares at you.
- >”What are you doing?” she asked with one eyebrow raised, cocking her head slightly.
- >You jump up, startled by her voice. The aura on your hands disperse.
- >You quickly turn around, hands behind body.
- “Oh, umm nothing.”
- >”I saw you! You can use magic!”
- “I know right, I can’t believe it!”
- >”How is that even possible, only unicorns can use magic!”
- “I don’t have a clue, but I can!”
- >Astonished, she walks over to you and touches your hand with a forehoof.
- >”These fingers? You call them, may act as a unicorn's horn does. Allowing magical power to be channeled through them.”
- “I guess that makes since.”
- >”That is pretty impressive that you’ve figured out how to work the magic so quickly.”
- “I didn’t really, just clenched.”
- >”Oh, okay.”
- >She yawns.
- >Wow that was cute, her face expanded and then scrunched as she ended the yawn cycle.
- >”Well I'm pretty beat, I’m going to call it a night. I will see you in the morning.”
- >She begins to turn around and walk away.
- “Wait, can I ask you something?”
- >She stops and nods.
- “Can you teach me magic?”
- >”Yeah, sure. I would love an apprentice to help with my research. It will be fun.”
- “Thank you so much Twilight, you’ve been the biggest help today. I sincerely appreciate it.”
- >”Yeah, don’t worry about it Anon, that’s what friends do.”
- >She continues upstairs and falls into bed, fast asleep.
- >You want to continue to read that magic book, but the day took its toll on you too.
- >You set up the sheets on the couch and then get in.
- >The sheets seem comfortable enough, If you weren’t so determined to read, you could easily go to sleep.
- >You open the book to where you left off.
- >Before you read the second sentence, your eyes unwillingly close and drift off into a dream.
