Why?” >Her glance shifted from you and to the lamp, then back to you. “Nothing… Nevermind…” >Huh. >If you didn’t know any better, you’d assume Dash was afraid of the dark or something… >You lean over and turn the lamp off, casting the room in darkness. >Then you cover up and snuggle up next to Dash. >Dash does the same, covering her head with the sheet and burying her head in your chest, holding you tight. “Dash?” >She’s quiet for a second. >”Y- yes?” “Something wrong?” >...”No..” “Dash come on, I know when you are troubled, just tell me.” >”It’s silly…” “I bet it’s not.” >”Fine…” She grumbled. “I’m scared of…” she trails off, the sheet muffling her voice not making it easier to hear her. “What?” >Suddenly she throws the sheets off of her head. “I SAID I’M SCARED OF THE DARK!” >Rainbow Dash? Scared of the dark? “You are?” >You could make out her nodding. >This must be very hard for her. “Aw, there’s nothing to be afraid of.” >You cover her up with the sheet and pull her back down to the bed, closer to you. >Holding her there gently. “I know how you feel, believe it or not.” >”What do you mean?” “When I was a kid, I was scared of the dark to where I would just leave the lights on all night… Burned through so much light bulbs.” You chuckled at the memory. >”But I’m an adult and I’m still afraid…” “Dash, there’s nothing wrong with being afraid of something. Everypony has a fear.” >You rub her mane a little, making her calm down a bit. >”But I’m Rainbow Dash… I’m not afraid of anything…” “So? You still are Rainbow Dash, and you are the bravest pony I know… Bravery or not, we all have fears;no one is fearless.” >Dash goes silent for a moment, thinking about what you said, before turning and kissing your cheek lightly. >”I guess...” “No problem. and besides, nothing in the dark will get you while I’m here.” >She giggles. “Hey anon?” “Yeah Dashie?” >“What’s your fear?” >This caught you a bit off guard, but after Dash was so honest with her telling you her fear, it would only be fair to return the honesty. “I’m afraid of spiders.” >”Really? They’re so small, though.” >You chuckle. “Back on Earth we had huge spiders, as big as my hand, and if they bit you there was a chance you could die.” >”Sounds scary.” “Yeah…” >Now you were really tired, and you could tell she was too judging from her yawn. It was time for sleep. >”Hey anon? Thanks for listening and not laughing at me about my fear… it makes me feel alot better actually… specially’ since you’re here.” >This brings a smile to your face. “Anytime, Dash…” >Kinda think of it, talking to her about your fear made you feel a bit better too. “Thanks for listening to mine, too. I feel better as well.” >Sighing lovingly, she moves her head back onto your chest, this time much more gentle than she was before. >No longer trembling. “Night Dashie.” >”Night anon…”
