- >Things progressed naturally after the Spring Fling.
- >Sunset Shimmer became your girlfriend and she cooled off, even hanging with you and your few friends on occasion.
- >She still didn't care much for the company you kept though.
- >Aside from Fluttershy, there's no one in your small clique that you'd actually expect her to like.
- >But you're okay with that.
- >School lets out and you wait for Sunset by the statue at the entrance, chatting with a passing buddy.
- >You've been driving her home most days.
- >Your circle of friends has expanded slightly as well.
- >A couple athletes and fashion-folk that latched onto you after Sunset became an actual part of Fluttershy's group of friends.
- >When those girls became friends again, the lines between students dissipated to some degree.
- >You finish talking and wave goodbye to your new pal when you see Sunset approaching.
- >"Hey Anon."
- >She greets you with a kiss, takes your hand, and the both of you head over to your car.
- >Opening the doors get you and Sunset blasted with the odors of your new occupation.
- >Ever since you took a job at Pizza Shack your car has been smelling like marinara.
- >No amount of air freshener could fix the stench, either.
- >Sunset recoils and backs away from the scent, but hesitantly gets in.
- >"Ugh. I don't know if I'll ever get used to that. It reeks. Get a different job, Anon. One that doesn't stink."
- "It's the pasta I spilled a while back. The smell will leave eventually. I hope."
- >"Yeah. Eventually. Meanwhile I'm already sick of it."
- "Nothing I can really do about it, Sunset. It's a paycheck."
- >"I know. I'm just complaining."
- "I got that much."
- >She playfully nudges you with a laugh as you pull out of the school parking lot and drive over to her place.
- >"So do you have work tonight?"
- >She says, unlocking the passenger door when you park in front of her house.
- "Sadly. Lots of hungry people on Fridays."
- >"Then I better see you tomorrow."
- "You will. I'll give you a call."
- >That said, you kiss her goodbye, wait for her to step inside her home, and get on your way.
- >You've got work in an hour, so you kill a little time at home playing a quick game.
- >That night.
- >You've made a few deliveries to the usual customers.
- >Pinkie Pie's always got some party going on, and usually gets three or four pizzas, depending on the occasion.
- >Rainbow Dash orders half as often.
- >Flash Sentry even orders a medium pepperoni now and then.
- >You don't mind being a pizza boy much, but you hate always seeing people you know.
- >It can be awkward bringing pizza to an event you weren't invited to.
- >All that aside, you enjoy the fact that you can listen to your own tunes all night.
- >Next house is coming up on your left.
- >It's definitely grander than the standard fare for someone that orders out.
- >Large white two-story with a black iron fence in front and a pair of cars sitting in front of the garage.
- >You park, turn down the radio, pick up the pizza and get out.
- >It's a warm night.
- >You slip past the black gate and make your way up the steps to the front door.
- >Always the question of ringing the doorbell or using the knocker.
- >Why would someone even have both?
- >Regardless, you ring the bell and wait patiently, cradling the pizza in your arms and examining the blank wall around you.
- >There's a few laughs inside and you catch the sound of footsteps approaching.
- >You correct your posture and slap a plastic smile on your face as they get closer.
- >Then someone finally answers the door.
- >"Anonymous? My, I wasn't expecting to see you!"
- "Rarity?"
- >She ordered pizza?
- "I'm surprised you'd even order a..."
- >You pick your brain for the order, thinking of the faint scent rising from the bag in hand...
- "...Pineapple pizza."
- >Rarity chuckles nervously and her eyes look away from you.
- >"Ah, yes, well my parents aren't always so refined. Erm, not that I don't like pizza."
- >You chuckle as you pull the pizza out of your case and lift the box lid to show her the toppings.
- "It's alright. I'm the delivery boy, not the chef. You won't offend me."
- >"Oh of course."
- >She takes the boxes, hands you the payment and a nice tip.
- "Thank you very much. Have a good night, Rarity."
- >"You too, Anonymous."
- >You offer her a friendly smile and proceed down the steps when she stops you.
- >"Actually Anon, I understand this may not be the best time but do you have a minute? I've had something on my mind."
- "Yeah, sure. What's up?"
- >"If it's not too intrusive on your personal life, may I ask why you've decided to date Sunset Shimmer? She was a rather unsavory individual for some time before then."
- >Not the question you expected.
- >You run a hand up the back of your head and adjust your red Pizza Shack cap.
- "Yeah, she was. Trust me I know. Though I uh, guess you'd know that better than I would."
- >"Indeed I do."
- >She says in monotone.
- "Well, it's just the way things went after she asked to the dance a while back. Funny too, because I wanted to ask you to the Spring Fling at the time."
- >"You did?"
- "Yeah. I felt like I missed out at the time, but I'm glad it worked out this way at least."
- >"Well I can say you've done what few would have dared to do. You're a good fellow Anonymous, in fact, I almost feel like I, 'missed' out."
- >She giggles and you smile.
- "Thanks Rarity."
- >"Have a good night, Anon."
- "You too."
- >The next day.
- >You lie in bed, having woken up an hour ago.
- >You're too lazy to get up and call Sunset to make plans just yet.
- >So you think about what Rarity said to you last night.
- >She missed out.
- >So did you, in a way.
- >Dangerous thinking, you'll only find trouble if you keep pondering that what-if scenario.
- >So you shake off those thoughts and get out of bed.
- >You'll call Sunset when you finish your morning routine.
- >You groggily go to the bathroom, take a piss, shower, brush your teeth, and throw on some presentable clothing.
- >Then your phone rings.
- >It's probably Sunset.
- >There goes your hopes of gaming for a bit.
- >You pluck your phone off it's charger and swipe the screen when you realize who's calling.
- >"Anonymous?"
- "Rarity?"
- >"Oh good. I began to fear I might have dialed the wrong number."
- "Target on the mark. I didn't know you had my number."
- >"Fluttershy gave it to me some time ago but uh, we shan't speak of when. Are you doing anything this afternoon? I have free time and after our little encounter yesterday night I thought we might get to know each other."
- "Sorry Rarity, I was going to spend the day with Sunset."
- >"No need to apologize. Although would you mind if I came along? Assuming of course this isn't a romantic get-together."
- "It wasn't exactly a date, no, but-"
- >"Excellent! You have my address, and I'll be ready in a short while."
- "Wait Rari-"
- >"See you soon, Anon!"
- >She hangs up.
- >You're pretty sure that this is the type of thing that gets you in trouble.
- >Sunset wasn't happy in the least and she let you know it.
- >Despite the fact that the two girls are technically friends, there has always been tension between them.
- >There's also the fact that Rarity silently holds the Spring Fling debacle a year ago against Sunset.
- >There aren't much ways this afternoon can go right.
- >Dread fills your stomach when you pick up your girlfriend.
- >And spills over when you pick up Rarity in the Pasta-car.
- >To your surprise she doesn't comment on the smell.
- >"Hello Anonymous, Sunset Shimmer." She greets while she settles in her seat.
- "How you doing Rarity?"
- >"Wonderful. It's always a pleasure to meet with friends."
- >Sunset groans quietly, "Yeah, sometimes."
- "So I thought we'd go see a movie."
- >You quickly cut in.
- >It's best to nip any possible conflict in the bud and keep things under control.
- "Anything you girls want to see?"
- >Sunset is staring blankly out of the window again, just like she did when you took her to the Spring Fling.
- >You can see Rarity in the rearview mirror with a finger on her chin in thought.
- >"Perhaps we could see Grim Encounters? Sapphire Shores supposedly offers a splendid performance."
- >A scary movie about a haunted asylum.
- >Nice.
- >You expected a romance, honestly.
- "Sunset? That sound good to you?"
- >"Yeah, we can go with that."
- "Fantastic. I love horror."
- >"Oh I agree. Unfortunately, I don't often have someone to see them with."
- >"Maybe next time you will, Rarity." Sunset sneers.
- >"Actually I believe I have someone this time around."
- >Quick, control the situation.
- "...So books are neat. Lots of information you can get from them."
- >"Anon, you're a dork."
- >You smile at Sunset and hear Rarity laugh.
- >You're also suddenly aware of the marinara's odor again.
- >You arrive at the local cinema and pay for yourself as well as the girls, all the while keeping firmly between them.
- >You make sure to pick up a plate of nachos from the concession, as well as the standard soda and popcorn.
- >You're not going to sit with Sunset on one side and Rarity on the other without chips slathered in cheese for emotional support.
- >With the girls at either side, you find your seats in the dark theater and settle down.
- >Various previews play and Rarity trades opinions with you during them.
- >Sunset stays quiet and you take her hand in yours.
- >She isn't happy with you, but she smiles anyway, scooting closer and leaning against you.
- >"You've got tomorrow off, right?" She whispers into your ear.
- "Yeah."
- >"Just me and you then, okay? We don't get enough alone time."
- >You drape an arm over her shoulders and nod your head.
- "Just us then."
- >Sunset kisses your cheek and falls back into her seat.
- >The movie starts, pretending that it's a true found-footage story.
- >It doesn't take long to kick into gear.
- >Angry spirit torturing then killing dumb people.
- >The usual.
- >It's actually a little spooky.
- >Sunset doesn't seem like she's phased by anything that happens.
- >Even though a character just got beheaded in what is likely the most graphic manner your could imagine.
- >Rarity, on the other hand, has a tight grip on your arm and often buries her face in your shoulder.
- >You kind of wish Sunset was like that, even though she's a tough girl.
- >The fashionista keeps herself glued to you the entire movie.
- >It's actually pretty cute.
- >More dangerous thinking.
- >You really should get Rarity off of you.
- >But her lavender shampoo convinces you to leave her be.
- >You even came close to resting your head on her, the pleasant scent providing comfort during a particularly gruesome scene.
- >But you controlled yourself until the movie ended.
- >"Anon, get up." Sunset growls as the lights come on.
- "I will, just let me get my nachos, shee-"
- >You stop when you realize what you just did.
- >A sleeping Rarity sits next to you, breathing softly.
- >And you just released her when you reached for the nachos on your lap.
- >Whoops.
- >"I don't know what you think you're doing Anon, but you'd better start talking."
- >The crowd awkwardly shuffles out with a few hushed voices chiding you.
- >"He dun goofed."
- >"What an idiot."
- >"I'd hate to be that guy"
- >"Eeyup."
- "I-I didn't do that on purpose, I swear."
- >"Is that supposed to make it better?"
- "No, but I... I... It was a reaction, I guess?"
- >You just McFucked up.
- >"It was a reaction to cuddle the girl who ISN'T your girlfriend?"
- "That's not what I meant."
- >"Tell me what you meant then."
- "Okay. Uh, she was scared... and I must've accidentally... um, comforted her."
- >"You don't always 'accidentally' comfort the stranger to your left during movies do you?"
- "That's completely different. I wouldn't know a stranger."
- >"But compared to ME, she's as good as one, Anon."
- "That's not true. I've known Rarity since Freshman year."
- >"But you were always too much of a coward to talk to her, weren't you?"
- "Well, yeah, but-"
- >"-But nothing. Just take me home Anon."
- "Sunset, I'm sorry."
- >"I bet you are."
- "I am. I wouldn't intentionally hurt you like this. It was a mistake, and I regret doing it."
- >"Oh please. You're not going to fix this. Not now."
- >Rarity slowly lifts her head and blinks.
- >"I didn't expect to be capable of falling asleep to a movie such as that."
- >Sunset glares at you.
- >"Well Anon helped."
- >"Are you okay, Sunset?"
- >"Shut up you loser."
- >"Oh how delightful. She's back to her old ways." Rarity deadpans.
- "Please Sunset..."
- >You reach for her hand, which she promptly yanks away from you in disgust.
- >"Home. Now."
- >Sunset wouldn't talk to you the whole ride home.
- >She didn't talk to you the next day, either.
- >Or the day after that.
- >Not even the day after that.
- >Rarity apologized profusely.
- >You weren't sure if you could believe it, even though you told her it was okay.
- >She had to know what she was doing.
- >Though ultimately it was your own damn fault.
- >But was cuddling Rarity really so... Wrong? You didn't kiss her or even go further than a hug.
- >But that embrace lasted too long to be friendly, you know that.
- >And when you think about it, you're pretty sure you unhooked Rarity's bra.
- >She appeared to be attempting to stealthily fix it on the drive back.
- >She'd shift uncomfortably and reach an arm back every now and then.
- >tfw you went further with Rarity than you have with your own girlfriend.
- >You groan in frustration when you park your car in the school parking lot.
- >You usually took Sunset to school, too.
- >You miss her.
- >With a click, you unbuckle yourself and push the car door open.
- >You stand for only a moment before plopping back into the driver's seat with a heavy sigh.
- >Boner, stop.
- >It must've reacted to the thought of Rarity's unrestrained breasts.
- >Your mind gets locked onto the thought of Rarity naked.
- >You sit sad and alone, the only other presence being a hard-on that keeps intensifying with every lingering thought.
- >Then suddenly, a car blazes past.
- >It's the same car that's been speeding by like an ass since the week began.
- >The roar of it's rapid approach makes you jump.
- >You usually hate people with loud engines.
- >But that last one killed your stiffy, so you feel somewhat grateful.
- >You finally get up and see Sunset on the sidewalk heading to school.
- >So now's your chance.
- "Hey! Sunset!"
- >She slows to a stop and turns to look at you.
- >She doesn't appear to be mad, either.
- >"Hey Anon." She greets when you get close.
- "Sunset, I'm sorry for what happened at the movies."
- >"No, it's alright Anon."
- "It's not. I should've just been upfront with Rarity and told her it was a day for only me and you."
- >"Yeah you should have, but it's alright. I'm over it."
- "...Really?"
- >"Mostly. I thought about it a bit, and... Yeah, I'm still jealous but you could have been making out with Rarity or fondling her."
- >You bite your tongue.
- >"So I forgive you."
- "You don't know how happy I am to hear you say that."
- >"Yeah, now get out of the way. Flash is waiting for me inside."
- "What?"
- >"Hope she's worth it."
- >Sunset pushes past you.
- "Wait, WHAT?"
- >You jump to stop her, but she's already facing you again, her expression blank.
- >"I gave you your second chance Anon. You don't get a third."
- "Sunset, hang on! What the hell? Flash?!"
- >"I can trust him, got it? Not you. Not anymore."
- "I-I just... Sunset no. Don't end it like this."
- >Her face is as cold as the night you picked her up for the Spring Fling.
- >And you feel a weight grow in your chest, threatening to expand.
- >Now your throat swells, and you understand the scope of how badly you messed up.
- >"I just did."
- >Your world feels as though it shattered, and your legs grow weak.
- >They barely hold you up while you stare at the unforgiving face of your ex-girlfriend.
- >This can't be it.
- >Not because of a stupid mistake.
- "Please don't be serious."
- >You beg in despair and gaze into her eyes
- >Sunset Shimmer, the most valuable person in your life just...
- >...breaks out in laughter.
- >She falls to her knees, hand on her sides and continues to mock your pain.
- >"Oh, Anon, I can't breathe!" She gasps.
- "Why are you-"
- >"I can't believe you thought I was serious, you dork!"
- >Before you can say another word, she presses her lips against your own.
- >Then roughly shoves you away and smiles mischievously.
- >"Yes, I was pretty angry with you, but really? Thinking I'd have already replaced you?"
- >She continues to laugh and hugs you tight.
- >In an instant, your world reconstructs itself and your heart soars to new heights.
- >Turns out she just wanted to play with your emotions.
- >That's nice.
- "Okay what I did was stupid, but an accident. This was just plain mean."
- >"You deserved it, jerk. You unhooked Rarity's bra on a day that was supposed to be ours."
- "Still an accident."
- >"Yeah, right."
- >You hold her like you never want to let her go, and savor the moment.
- >She emasculated you just a minute ago, but you didn't care.
- >That's the kind of girl she is.
- >You were just happy to know you didn't ruin anything.
- >"Do something like that again though, and I'll make you relive the Fall Formal." She threatens with venom.
- "You practically made me brown my trousers a second ago. I've learned my lesson."
- >"Good. Now you can help me with paying back Rarity. Like a good boyfriend."
- "Never change, Sunset."
- >"Wouldn't dream of it. Oh, and Anon?"
- "Yeah?"
- >"Seriously? Get a new job. I can smell the pasta from here."
- "It's pretty much spilling out of my pockets at this point."
