Spending the Night

>What kind of colorful hell is this?

>You scramble backwards to distance yourself from them a bit.

>Your eyes move from one set of colorful eyes to the next. Meeting with pair only for a few seconds before one of them finally speaks up.

>Twi: “Is that how it says hello?”

>RD: “Maybe, it said something similar to that a minute ago.”

>Your mouth hangs open to answer but you can’t seem to find any words.

>They are all staring at you waiting for you to say something.

“N-no, that’s not how we say ‘hello’. I just didn’t expect to see you all standing above me when I opened my eyes.”

>AJ: “Heh, sorry to startle ya there but Fluttershy saw ya fall and she thought ya might be hurt.”

“Uhh… What’s a Fluttershy?”

>You notice the yellow one with wings slowly backing away trying to hide her face with her mane.

“That must be you.”

>She blushes and lets out a little squeak.

“Riiiiight… I’ll take that as a yes.”

>Twi: “My name is Twilight Sparkle, who are you?”

“My name is… Anonymous. You can call me Anon for short.”

>Rarity: “Anon, was it? You look simply horrid. What happened to you?”

>You look yourself over before answering.

“I’d love to tell you what happened, but first… Could I trouble any of you for a shower?”

 

 

>You were taken back to Fluttershy’s cottage to shower. They aren’t sure what to make of you, but since Fluttershy is good with animals they thought it’d be best for her to “take care” of you.

>It’s not like you had a change of clothes with you. You never expected any of this to happen.

>You put on your dirty torn clothes and head downstairs to join the rest of them.

>Twilight is waiting with a bunch of paper and quills waiting to take notes about you. The rest are watching you silently.

>As you begin to speak a quill begins to float by twilight and write on the paper.

>You instantly stop talking and just stare.

>She notices you staring at her.

>”What, is something wrong?”

“That quill is moving on its own.”

>”I’m just taking some notes. We’ve never seen anything like you before and I’d like to document everything.”

“Yeah sure but its moving by itself!”

>”No it’s not. I’m using magic”

>You’ll need to watch yourself around this bunch. If they could do REAL magic, there’s no telling what they were capable of.

>You slowly begin your story again.

>You start with what happened when you went to work before the hurricane. They may not fully understand what you’re talking about, but then again not many people did unless they had some experience in your field.

>Twilight seemed to write down every word you said regardless of whether or not she knew how to spell it.

>You get to the events of last night, and they all give Dash a “Daww” look.  All except one.

>Twilight was focused on you and your story.

 

 

“And then I woke up and saw all of you standing around me”

>Twi: “Excellent, I’m sure the princess will want to hear about this immediately.

“Wait… did you say Princess?”

>”Yes Princess Celestia, She’s the ruler of all of Equestria. Spike, would you please send this letter to the princess?”

>A small dragon walks in the room and takes the stack of paper Twilight had finished writing. He breathes fire all over it until the paper is reduced to nothing.

>What?

>Before you can open your mouth to say anything the dragon belches out a small scroll with a wax seal on it.

>The scroll floats over to Twilight and opens up for her to read.

>Her eyes go wide as she speaks.

>”Oh dear…”

“What?”

>”Uhh, nothing. You should get some sleep.”

>You look outside and notice its getting dark outside. Wow, you must have really stretched that story out.

“Yeah, I’ll get going then.”

>As you go to leave, Fluttershy calls out to you. “Wait where are you going?”

“Back to the woods.”

>”Oh no, you can’t go out there at night. It’s too dangerous.”

“Ok, fine. Where should I sleep then?”

>”Umm” she blushes and begins again. “You can spend the night here.”

 

 

>Twi: “Fluttershy, can I talk to you for a minute”

>Fs: “Of course.”

>The two of them leave the room. It almost sounds like Twilight is yelling at her.

>Rarity looks at the others still in the room. “We should probably get going.”

>The rest nod in agreement and wish you a good night before leaving the cottage.

>Twilight and Fluttershy come back into the room.

>Twi: “Did they all leave?”

“Yeah”

>”I should get going too.” Twilight looks back at Fluttershy, “Remember what I told you”

>She glances at you before leaving, but doesn’t say anything.

>It’s just you alone with Fluttershy for the night.

“So where am I sleeping?”

>She points to the couch you’re already sitting on.

>”Right there. I’ll get you a pillow and some blankets.”

>She is flies upstairs and is back down in less than a minute.

>Handing you a folded blanket and a pillow she quietly says goodnight and goes back upstairs, blowing out a few candles as she leaves.

>You try to sleep, but you can’t shake the feeling that someone is watching you.

>Nope, we’re getting to the bottom of this.

>You lay still and breathe lightly, pretending you’re asleep.

>15 minutes later.

>Must be nothing, as you’re about to move you notice a pair of eyes at the top of the stairs watching you.

>Gotchya

 

 

>Fluttershy hovers into the room careful not to make a noise.

>Clever.

>As she gets close you to you close your eyes completely. You hear her softly land next to your face.

>You open your eyes slowly and see hers staring directly back into yours.

“W-what are you doing?” you say is a sleepy voice.

>She blushes, “Oh… Nothing. I was just checking on you to see if you were ok.”

“I’m fine, but I can’t sleep knowing you’re lurking in the shadows all night.”

>”Sorry.”

>Before you can say another word she takes off.

“Wait!”

>She turns to look at you half way across the room.  “Yes?”

“What did Twilight tell you to remember?”

>”Uhh, I have to go. Good night Anon!”

>You close your eyes and soon fall asleep. You couldn’t seem to shake off the image of Fluttershy staring back at you, smiling as you slept.

>You wake up as the sunlight enters the cottage.

>You get up and scratch your head.

>Fluttershy is making you breakfast.

“Are you making waffles?”

>You ask as you walk into the kitchen and sit at the table.

>”Oh you’re awake. Yes, Rainbow Dash said you didn’t like most of what we eat so I thought you’d like these.”

>You’ve never had waffles this good. The whole time you eat Fluttershy just gives you a big smile.

>”I’m glad you like them, I usually don’t cook.”

>Just then there is a knock at the door.

 

 

>She gets up to answer the door. “Who could that be?”

>As she opens the door, you see Twilight standing in the doorway.

>She looks over Fluttershy’s shoulder to see you staring at her. She gives you a mean look and has a very quiet conversation in the doorway.

>Might as well clean up after yourself.

>Twilight walks into the kitchen to find you washing the dishes.

“Hey Twilight.”

>You don’t look at her as you wash the dishes. She has something against you, but you don’t know what it is yet.

>”You need to come with me. The princess would like to speak with you.”

“I’d love to Twilight, but I’m not finished with the dishes yet.”

>Fluttershy chimes in, “Thank you Anon, but you don’t need to worry about that. I’ll finish them.”

“Sure. Thank you for everything Flutters.”

>You look at Twilight, and bring a fake smile to your face.

“Lead the way.”

>She turns and walks outside without saying a word.

>You see an enclosed chariot with what looks like war horses pulling it.

>Twilight gets in and you follow suit, sitting opposite her in the chariot. Before you know it you’re moving. Looking outside you notice you’re in the air. Wonderful, guess there’s no use in saying you’re afraid of heights.

“Hey Twilight. Can I ask you a question?”

>She rips her eyes from the window to look at you. “Sure, what’s on your mind?”

“Do you have a problem with me?”

>”Not personally, but Princess Celestia will explain once we get to Canterlot.”
