- The Darkness in Equestria - Part 1
- by Connorâ„¢
- -------------------------
- Let me begin by saying this is not a fucking Mary Sue. Jackie Estacado is a character from the video game and comic book series "The Darkness".
- If you don't believe me go Google it. This story will mainly make sense to those who have knowledge of the game, or comics. However, I will try
- to make it easy to understand for those who have NOT played/read the games/comics.
- PART ONE - ARRIVAL.
- >"Well you did well here didn't you."
- >"Oh shut up."
- >The sound of walking rings in your ears.
- >"What is it?"
- >"How the hay am I supposed to know? I'm not a..."
- >"A what? Huh?"
- >"Damn it."
- >"Exactly."
- >You feel a pain rise from your gut into your chest.
- >Letting out a moan of pain you attempt to open your eyes.
- >FUCKING LIGHT OF A THOUSAND SUNS. ABORT. ABORT.
- >You slam your eyes shut again.
- >"You see that?"
- >"See what?"
- >"It opened it's eyes, and groaned."
- >Huh. Sounds like 2 men.
- >"Well at least it ain't dead."
- >You would smirk if you weren't in so much pain.
- >You feel something bite at your long leather coat.
- >A muffled voice speaks by your ear, "By Celestia, he's heavy!"
- >"Put your back into it!" the other voice says groggily.
- >Whatever was biting you, lets go and begins panting.
- >You try to force your eyes open, but even the slightest crack of light burns.
- >"We'll need a wagon to move it, unless he wakes up..."
- >You feel your hand around, trying to work out where you are.
- >You grab a handful of dirt and leaves.
- >"It's movin' again," splutters one of the voices.
- >You let out a groan, your legs numb now.
- >"Maybe it's hurt or something," says the other voice, much clearer this time.
- >You open your mouth, filling your lungs with as much air as possible.
- >"It's waking up..." one of the voices splutters, the fear clear in his voice.
- -------------------------
- >'JAAACCCKIIIEEEE'
- >The voice echoes in your head.
- >Even now it taunts you, laughing at your injuries.
- >You need to get out of the light, quickly.
- >Bringing your hand up to your face, you try to move.
- >"Uhh...Boss?"
- >You shield your eyes from the sun with your fingers.
- >Slowly, you prize open your eyes.
- >"Boss, now would be a good time to do something."
- >You begin to take in your surrounds...
- >Tall, dark barked trees seem to stretch all around you.
- >Their leaves doing nothing to hide the sun.
- >"Wait until it gets up...Then we'll decide what to do."
- >The ground around you is rough and grassy.
- >'STAAAYYYY awaayyy....FROM THE LIGHT!'
- >Ugh...
- >You push your body up, a sharp pain stabbing your spine.
- "AH, FUCK!"
- >You hear gasps near you.
- >"It can talk?!" they both shout in unison.
- >Odd, why are they shocked?
- >Slowly, you turn your head to the two voices.
- >Before stood two... well, they looked like horses. Little ones at least.
- >What are small horses called again? Ponies? Yeah, that's it.
- >These two ponies had been speaking. You knew it.
- >A look of shock was frozen on their faces.
- "Uhh..." you began,
- "Can you...talk?"
- >They nodded slowly...
- >"Y-Yes..." one of them spat out.
- >WELL DONE JACKIE, YOU ARE OFFICIALLY INSANE!
- >Your head began to hurt, you vision blurred.
- >Last thing you remember, you were falling to the ground.
- -------------------------
- Some time later...
- >You awake to find yourself in a dark room.
- >Bolting upright, your eyes adapt to the light.
- >The dusty room has a strong hay smell.
- >'Feeellingg beeetttteerrr?' the voice you had come to hate growled.
- "Shut up." you snapped.
- >You are laying in a small bed, one of your legs hanging off of it.
- >The curtains are shut, the only light is a couple of candles in the corner.
- >You take a look around the room.
- >The furniture was awfully small, even the bed you are lying in look like it was fit for a child.
- >Throwing your other leg off the bed, you get to your feet.
- >A note is lying on the bedside table.
- >You swipe it up and bring it up to eye level.
- >The writing is some foreign language that seems similar to russian, but with traces of other languages.
- >You throw the note back on the table and check yourself.
- >Jacket? Check.
- >Pants, shirt and underwear? Check.
- >Boots? Che-wait.
- >One of your boots is missing.
- >Looking around you find that it is no-where to be seen.
- "God damn it!"
- >You hear shuffling at the door standing at the other end of the room.
- >"Umm..." a soft voice begins.
- >"A-Are you awake?" it continues.
- >You stare at the door, listening closely.
- >The voice was definitely female.
- >The sound of hooves is barely audible as whoever it was walks away.
- >Wait...Hooves.
- >You remember the talking horses from before, and sway on your feet a little.
- -------------------------
- >You shuffle towards the door, cautious of how much noise you make.
- >'Jaaaccckkii-'
- "Shut up!" you snap.
- >Oh shit.
- >The soft sound of hooves makes its way to the door.
- >Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck.
- >You look at the door handle as it begins to move.
- >As the door opens you back away from it.
- >Standing in the doorway is a small yellow pony with long trailing pink hair.
- >The thing that stands out most to you though is the appendages attached to it.
- >Not only is it a yellow pony, it has wings.
- >Fucking. Wings.
- >You stand in shock, staring at the small pony's wings.
- >"Umm..."
- >Your brain is going to overload at this point.
- >Talking ponies.
- >And this one has wings.
- >"How're you doing?" it asks in a caring tone.
- >"I hope you're feeling better," it continues in its soft voice.
- >You struggle to speak as words fail you.
- "Uh...I...Um..." you splutter.
- >The small yellow pony looks at you slightly confused.
- >You stop trying to talk and attempt to collect yourself.
- >"Are you hungry?" the pony asks.
- >Come to think of it, you are a bit peckish...
- >You clear your throat and breathe deeply.
- >Just as you are about to speak, the winged pony smiles and trots off.
- "Hey!" you shout after her.
- >She shoots into the corner, cowering behind her hooves.
- "Umm..."
- >She looks from behind her hoof at you.
- >You stand there, unsure of what to do.
- >'FEED ON THE WEEAAAAKKKKK!' screams the voice of your tormentor.
- >Letting out a groan you force the voice away.
- -------------------------
- >"S-Sorry..." the pony splutters.
- "It's okay, its just you didn't let me reply," you say somewhat disgruntled.
- >The yellow pony stands up and smiles at you.
- >"I look after a lot of animals, so its odd looking after one that can speak..."
- "I see...it's odd for me speaking to a talking pony."
- >The pony looks up at you confused.
- >"I don't understand..."
- >You stand there silent for a moment.
- >"Y-You can explain later..if you want..."
- "That'd be better, allow me to collect my thoughts."
- >It'd probably be better to figure out where you are, who this pony is and why the hell it can talk before telling it anything.
- >You follow the pony out of the room, only to find yourself in a living room.
- "Your bedroom is downstairs?"
- >"No...but the guest bedroom is," the pony replies.
- "Oh, okay."
- >As you walk further into the room, you realise it is full of pet supplies.
- >There are all manner of pet foods on the shelves and sat agaisnt the wall.
- >Bird perches, new and old, sit on the window ledges and hang from the ceiling.
- "You weren't kidding when you said you look after a lot of animals..."
- >"Oh no, I look after all kinds of critters."
- >The pony points with a hoof out of the window.
- >"I even let some stay here from time to time."
- >You look out of window to see chicken coops and a group of assorted animals sat in the garden.
- >"I-I feel so sorry for them when they're hurt..." it continues, the sadness in its voice clear.
- -------------------------
- >"Then...when those nice ponies brought you here, I-I just had to help you!"
- >You can't help but feel in debt to this caring pony.
- "I don't mean to be rude but...where exactly is here?" you interupt.
- >"Oh well...T-This my cottage, its on the edge of Ponyville..."
- "Ponyville? You mean there is a village of onies like you?"
- >"Well, um, yes, we can hardly wander around the Everfree Forest all day. I-It's s-scary in there..."
- >The pony visible shakes, obviously scared just by the thought of the Everfree Forest.
- >"S-So...Do you have a name? You don't have to tell me...not if you don't want to...."
- >You think it over for a moment...Can you trust this pony?
- >Your mind wanders to intimidating the pony...
- >'Jaaaccckkkiieeeeeee....'
- "My name is Jackie...What's yours?"
- >The pony mumbles something under its breath.
- "Didn't quite catch that..."
- >The pony avoids looking at you, and takes to staring at the ground.
- >"I'm..Flut-" it whispers.
- "Flutter what now?" you question.
- >"Fluttershy..."
- "Fluttershy? That's a nice name. My name is Jackie."
- >"J-Jackie?"
- "Yup," you answer.
- >Fluttershy smiles at you and wanders off into another room.
- >You look around the cluttered room again.
- >"Umm..J-Jackie..." the soft voice calls.
- "Yes Fluttershy?"
- >"D-Do you like fish?"
- "Fish? It depends..."
- >"Ohh, well...I don't really have much else...other than vegetables..."
- "Fish will be fine."
- -------------------------
- >After spending several hours with Fluttershy in her cottage, you decided to go for a walk.
- >Fluttershy had decided to tag along so she could make sure you didn't accidentally wander into "The big scary forest"
- "I'm sure I would realise if I walked into the forest Fluttershy."
- >"O-Oh but you could have got lost and hurt yourself again!" she cries.
- "Fluttershy, I am not an animal! You don't have to look after me," you shout.
- >She looks at the ground disheartened, clearly upset by your statement.
- "Fluttershy...I don't mean to be harsh but, you're treating me like I can't look after myself."
- >She sniffs quietly and nods in acceptance.
- >"I-It's just..." she starts.
- >"I'm sorry..it's just I didn't want you to get hurt again, an-and if you did...I'd all be my fault."
- >You see tears form in her eyes.
- "Fluttershy, it's okay. You have nothing to be sorry for."
- >You stop and kneel down on one knee.
- >She stops next to you and turns her body to face you.
- >You bring her into a hug and run your hands through her mane.
- >She sniffs and pulls herself away from you.
- >"I-I think I know someone who will want to see you..."
- >You perk up slightly.
- "Really? Who might that be?"
- >"W-Well...Twilight is always interested in new things, and seen as you are the only..."
- >She looks you up and down.
- >"Umm..."
- >You suddenly realise how foreign you are to this land.
- "Human?" you ask.
- >"Yeah...Hu..Hoo..."
- >Fluttershy tries to pronounce it several times before finally managing to pronouncing it correctly.
- >"H-Human."
- -------------------------
- >"W-we should...get going...before the sun sets..." Fluttershy mumbles.
- "Lead the way."
- >You follow Fluttershy, who looks around every so often at the birds and small animals that are scuttering about.
- >"I've never seen a...human...before. W-Where do you come from?"
- "Well, I was born in Manhattan..."
- >"Manhattan? You mean Manehattan?" Fluttershy questions.
- "Manehattan? Never heard of it. And seen as I'm "the only human" here I doubt it." you sigh.
- >Fluttershy looks at you confused, but then turns to watch where she is going.
- "Anyways, I was born in Manhattan but my mom died giving birth to me..."
- >You mind flickers back to memories of her and your father.
- >This thoughts soon become hatred as you remember how your father sent you to an orphanage because he didn't want you.
- "And then that damn bastard sent me to an orphanage. The cheap, lazy son-of-a-bitch that he is didn't even want his own son!"
- >You stop and snort angrily.
- >Fluttershy stops and turns around.
- >She looks at you with saddened eyes, brimmed with tears from your story.
- >You take a deep breath and look at Fluttershy.
- "You don't need to hear my story, it ain't a nice one."
- >She nods and continues forwards.
- >After walking for roughly 15 minutes you arrive at a colourful town of busy ponies.
- "Is this...Ponyville?" you ask.
- >Fluttershy smiles and nods at you.
- >"Come on, before Twilight goes out somewhere and we miss her...If you want to go that is...
- >You have a feeling this "Twilight" might not like you as much as Fluttershy...
