  2. Nolo POV
  3. -----------------------------
  4. >You sit among these dethroners, waiting for them to begin
  5. >For though your enemy was powerful, she had never faced the might of men
  6. >Equestria will soon be ours, for we hold the true power!" you boldly claim
  7. >All the rest seem to agree
  8. >Except for Forge, who doesn't trust you fully
  9. >This doesn't bother you in the slightest
  10. >His silly morals give him no rest
  11. >You listened in on the speech, but as excited as you might be,
  12. >This meeting stretched on, without any end
  13. >You had stuff to do, places you had to attend!
  14. >These men were all great, in their own special way
  15. >But only Xillian held your sway
  16. >You observed as he reclined, completely at ease
  17. >Leaning back and contemplating, completely at ease
  18. >You suddenly turn at the sound of your name
  19. >Codz gave you orders, you said you were game
  20. >You were to hang back here, with Xillian and Sherm
  21. >Such an easy job, you might as well get a Perm
  22. >But no, you thought to yourself as you watched Forge get up,
  23. >He leaves eagerly, wanting a respite
  24. >As if that would help, Ha! yeah right
  25. >You still had to go after the most corrupt
  26. >To that end, an alliance was necessary, with the most devious of all
  27. >And Xillian the Magistrate was at the top of the roll call
  28. >You pull him aside as everyone leaves
  29. >Going about their bushiness, doing their deeds
  30. >He seems somewhat wary at first, if not ill at ease,
  31. >But then you ask him something that makes him seemed pleased
  32. >"My Dear Magistrate, wait one moment"
  33. >"I have a request that I need to vent"
  34. >"You see, I have noticed how your goals, you achieve"
  35. >"Always plotting, without a reprieve"
  36. >"I know your skills are greater than the others might think."
  37. >"Which is why I know you and I share a common Link"
  38. >He watches with interest, seeing where this is going
  39. >He knew of your skill, and that it wasn't just hot air you were blowing
  40. >So he let you continue, with a small smile, all knowing
  41. >"You know how to play the game, that much is obvious"
  42. >"But what is your end goal, why so devious?"
  43. >His smile grew wider , sinister and frightening
  44. >"Why Scurra, the answer's simple, I enjoy their fighting."
  45. >"I'm a politician, my choice is not hiding,"
  46. >"merely watching, waiting, biding"
  47. >"For you see, this fighting will someday stop,"
  48. >"And when it does, I'll make sure I am on top"
  49. >"But it is with some regret,"
  50. >"That I must inform you that my true endgame is a secret"
  51. >You stare at him, aware of the simalarity
  52. >"I've had an Epihany, of startling clarity!"
  53. >"I know that I would not like to pit myself against you,"
  54. >"How about an alliance between us two?"
  55. >The magistrate only smiles, and when he answers it takes him a short while
  56. >"I....would love to form an allegiance with you,"
  57. >"If only to surprise the others, out of the blue..."
  58. >"Then it is settled!"
  59. >"Together, no one can best our mettle!"
  60. >You both part ways towards your respective destinations,
  61. >Ready to begin your dark machinations....
  62. -------------
  63. Wüten PoV
  64. -------------
  65. >You always hated diplomacy.
  66. >But, as long as you’re provided with food, drink, and combat to make sure your thirst for action is sated, you don’t care
  67. >Let the others worry about the papers and words; in the end you don’t give a fuck whether or not it worked as long as you were one of the first into the fight
  68. >Bessie always enjoys her fun, too; you can tell by the way she vibrates when she cuts
  69. >Faster vibrations meant she wanted the fight to be over with quickly, because she didn’t like the opponent
  70. >Slower vibrations, however, always let you know by the way there is a split-second longer in the cut that she loves every second of slicing through the opponent’s flesh
  71. >”Evening, Wüten,” you hear a voice come from behind you
  72. >You hate when you get interrupted while sharpening your blade
  73. >You stand, nonetheless, and heft Bessie up onto your shoulder, turning around
  74. >It’s Guapo and Codzurus
  75. “Codzurus! Have you come to see Bessie and I train?”
  76. >You pick Bessie up and swing her in a downward cleave to the side, before trailing her up through the air
  77. >You love the sound of Bessie’s blades vibrating through the air; it’s almost like a howl of battle for you
  78. >”Not exactly. Guapo and I had come to find gear for our mission."
  79. >Of course; they never come to watch you
  80. >”I thought you said we were to make friends with them?” Guapo speaks up
  81. >Gah, you wonder if you’ll ever be free from interruptions
  82. >Fortunately, it wasn’t an opponent behind you just then; otherwise, you would have been in trouble
  83. >They would have had the perfect opportunity to pierce a vital organ or something
  84. >Nevertheless, despite your mind wandering, you look as if you’re paying attention
  85. >You learned this trick back in training, when you would be in meetings and your mind would wander to the field of battle
  86. >You suddenly lose track of what the two of them are talking about
  87. >”We are, of course. But this is for just… self defense, if you will,” Codzurus says, turning back to you. “Have you seen Pikus?”
  88. >This snaps you back to reality
  89. “Actually, he was just here. He left saying something about the control room.”
  90. >You stroke your chin, trying to make it look like you were paying attention
  91. >”Thanks, Wüten. Now, to find some gear,” Codzurus says, walking over to the weapon crates
  92. >Looks like the two of them are done with you for now
  93. >Finally, time to try out Bessie’s new, sharper blades
  94. >You grin, bringing her up and cleaving a target in a diagonal strike, slicing it in two at a much faster pace than you were earlier
  95. “Perfect.”
  96. >You pat the hilt of the battleaxe approvingly, before lunging for another target…
  97. >Eventually, you run out of targets to slice through
  98. >You even set up a few already-cut targets again, to just cut through them a second time
  99. “What do you think, Bessie? Will they bleed the same color as we do?”
  100. >The vibrations from the blade almost seem to talk to you
  101. >They sound like she’s saying “Mhm… Mhm… Mhm…”
  102. >You grin, and nod
  103. “My thoughts exactly.”
  104.
  105. -------------
  106. Codz PoV
  107. -------------
  108. >You and Guapo went down to the lower level of the ship to find the armory.
  109. >You had arrived when you see Wüten in there already, grinding his axe so it can split hairs.
  110. "Evening, Wüten."
  111. >He picks up his hefty axe and places it over his shoulder.
  112. >"Codzurus! Have you come to see Bessie and I in training?" he swings wildly.
  113. >What a man.
  114. "Not exactly. Guapo and I had come to find gear for our mission."
  115. >"I thought you said we were to make friends with them?" Guapo spoke up.
  116.
  117. "We are of course. But this is for just...self defense if you will."
  118. >You look back to Wüten.
  119. "Have you seen Pikus?" you ask.
  120. >"Actually, he was just here. He left saying something about the control room." Wüten strokes his chin.
  121. "Thanks Wüten. Now to find some gear."
  122.
  123. >You rummage through the crates of weaponry.
  124. >You find a slender long sword. Perfect for your build.
  125. >You wouldn't need armor though. No need for standing out.
  126. >But you'd have to see about some inventions from Caseus later.
  127. >A sword is fine, but compared to the things hes made? Priceless.
  128. >Guapo grabs his weapon of choice and you both leave the armory with the sounds of Wüten tearing shit up.
  129.
  130. "Let's go Guapo. We've only got the night, then our plan shall be executed."
  131.
  132. -------------
  133. Caseus PoV (Cheese Officer)
  134. -------------
  135.
  136. >Caseus left the conference room, deep in thought.
  137. >Not for any specific reason, but because he always was.
  138. >He entered his laboratory, a large, messy room with grey walls lined with all sorts of equipment. Syringes filled with colorful liquids, wires, blood-stained saws, scalpels, flasks with organs floating in them and
  139. other things that might make other people sick.
  140.
  141. >Not Caseus, though. For Caseus, they were his closest friends. Only in their company could he truly relax.
  142. >In the middle of the room stood a large metal table and on top of that table, a dead pony. Ah, yes, he remembered Bob saying his agents found a dead unicorn.
  143. >Caseus picked up a paper from the floor. It was mostly empty, just some calculations. As far as he could tell, they were not too important, so he started scribbling in rather illegible handwriting.
  144.
  145. "Specimen C-1", he mumbled to himself, "Unicorn, blue coat, yellow mane. Teeth marks all over its body.
  146. >Probably some variation of wolves. Large wolves. Really fucking HUGE wolves, man, can you believe it?"
  147. >He stopped and pulled a pocket flask out of his lab coat. Already half-way empty. Hopefully, someone in this world knows how to make whiskey.
  148. >Caseus giggled to himself. He unexpectedly arrived in this hostile world and everyone was really serious about conquest and stuff and all he could think about was whiskey.
  149.
  150. >After taking a large sip, he felt much better and ready to continue writing.
  151. "Dead for about...", he checked the wounds and the blood on its coat, "two days, approximately. Next course of action..."
  152. >Taking a hammer, a syringe and some wires from the wall, he started giggling madly and continued.
  153. "Let's see if it reacts to outward stimuli."
  154. ---------------
  155. Bob PoV
  156. ---------------
  157. >You are Spymaster Blackimus Magus Bobimus of the Roma Nova Empire.
  158. >Bob for short.
  159. >With great cunning and general sneakiness, you have risen in power to your current position.
  160. >Knowledge is power, and you shall forever continue to arm yourself, and your Empire.
  161. >No cost can ever be too great. The Empire must last forever, and your legacy with it.
  162. >Your network of spies constantly feeds you information, and your ability to gather such informants has never failed.
  163. >Even here, in the land of Equestria, the disgruntled, dis-empowered members of both the elite ruling class and the peasantry thirst for power.
  164. >The Diarchs of this land may believe that their people are satisfied, but you know the truth.
  165. >You just can't please everybody.
  166. >As you enter your office on the Luxuria, a wobbling, shaking, arcane box catches your eye.
  167. “Ah shit. I told those damn ponies not to overload the box.”
  168. >You sprint to the box, pressing your fingers to latch and pointing the lid away from yourself.
  169. >At once, the box springs open, dozens of tomes flying into your office.
  170. >The flow of tomes slows, and eventually stops.
  171. “This...will take some time. I hope that idiot Blueblood at least remembered to annotate the important bits.”
  172. >As you inspect the books across the floor, bright tabs seem to stick out from most of them.
  173. >With a sigh, you pick up the first one and begin to flip through it.
  174. “Physiology. Time to make piles. I guess I'll throw the books for Caseus in this corner...”
  175. >With a careless toss, you send the book away from the others.
  176. “Herbology. Aether's pile will go over there.”
  177. >Another toss.
  178. >Skimming through a third you pause as realization dawns upon you.
  179. “This...is a goddamn cookbook!”
  180. >This one gets tossed over your shoulder as you dig through more and more.
  181. >More piles are formed, information for your “brothers”.
  182. >Finally, only one book remains.
  183. “Another fucking cookbook.”
  184. >You close it in disgust, and stare at the cover with simmering fury.
  185. >Thirty damn cookbooks in all.
  186. >All written by some moron named Starswirl the Bearded.
  187. >Wait. Where had you heard that name before?
  188. >Quickly, you dig through one of the piles you made, before pulling up a text claiming to be a history of great magicians in this world.
  189. >Sure enough, this Starswirl had whole chapters to his name.
  190. >You dig through all of the texts, noticing that each one was hand-written, and all bore the name of the same author.
  191. >A quick call over the intercom to your grunts on the ship, and the other piles are sent to your prime subordinates for perusal while you gather you new project together.
  192. “Clever little pony. I have your number now, though.”
  193. ---------------
  194. Forge PoV
  195. ---------------
  196.
  197. >You were flying through the air at incredible speeds, all which ended when you landed on your ship.
  198. >Fuck, forgot your com box back up there.
  199. >Oh well, get that later.
  200. >You turn the intercom on.
  201. "All troops to the main deck. We have a job to do."
  202.
  203. >Suddenly you hear the footsteps of machinations rush up from the bellows of your ship.
  204. >All of them arrive on the upper deck in perfect formation.
  205. >Nothing but perfection for your troops.
  206.
  207. "I see before me a hundred, a hundred who wish to fight for the betterment of two nations. But the time for fighting has not come yet. Instead our orders are to gather intelligence, to that end we go to the capital, Canterlot. Our targets are the Royal Sisters, you should all know who they are by now. We will be gathering as much information about them as we can, look for anything that can be used against them. Any weakness, corruption in the guard, disent among the populace, political failures, anything. More detailed orders will be distributed once we are in Canterlot, remember, this is not a combat mission, you are to use none-violent methods only, we can't risk casualties until we are certain of the need for our intervention here."
  208.
  209. "Are you're orders understood?" you finish.
  210. >The loud bang of stone against metal plate rings up, signifying a salute from your soldiers
  211. >They understand.
  212.
  213. "Good, we move out."
  214.
  215. ---------------
  216. Thunder/Lightning PoV
  217. ---------------
  218.
  219. >Those CURSED pegasi.
  220. >Thinking they can control the weather with their factory?
  221. >This would not do.
  222. >You would destroy this accursed factory.
  223. >Return the natural order of things you know?
  224.
  225. >You were to aid this 'Roma Nova' legion. This was temporary.
  226. >You were only seeing to it that weather remained natural and untouched.
  227. >Then you could take your leave.
  228. >You walk out of the conference room.
  229.
  230. "Ready to go Lightning?"
  231. >"Let us return." he responds.
  232. >And with that you two soar back into the clouds above you.
  233. >Clouds that were not to be altered in any way.
  234. >Pegasi were no exceptions to that matter.
  235.
  236. --------------
  237. Codz PoV
  238. --------------
  239.
  240. >You had just finished speaking to Pikus.
  241. >He told you that you would start your mission at the small town of Ponyville.
  242. >What a name.
  243. >But he did say that we picked up quite the energy signatures.
  244.
  245. >With this, you head to the east wing to meet up with Caseus.
  246. >Walking in, you smell something...peculiar.
  247. >"Ah Codzurus. You came just in time, I finished experimenting with the corpse of the unicorn brought to me." he cackles.
  248. >So that's what that smell is.
  249. "Anything specific to report?"
  250.
  251. >"Nothing much, except the horns. Of course being unicorns, the horn would serve a special purpose. It is a 'magic conductor' of sorts. Very thick. Very durable." he reads off his list.
  252. "Interesting. So without the horn then..."
  253. >"Indeed! The magic source around them cannot be input through a conductor into spells!" he cheers.
  254. >"We'll have to remember this for later." Guapo speaks up.
  255. "Indeed. For now, Caseus, I've come to see about some inventions of yours. "
  256. >"But of course! The usual?" he laughs as he goes into his workshop.
  257. >One day you'd see the shit he's got in there.
  258. >One day.
  259. >He comes back out a small cube with a singular button.
  260. >"Here you are Codzurus. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it." he walks back into his workshop.
  261. "Thanks again Caseus."
  262.
  263. >You and Guapo walk back towards your respective cabins.
  264. >"So Codzurus." he starts. "Why me?"
  265. "Why not? I figured piloting the ship isn't eventful outside of battle. You need a vacation of sorts." you grin.
  266. >"Heheh. Well in any case, I'll enjoy our adventures down in Ponyville. It ought to be interesting to say the least." he finishes.
  267. "Of course. Now get some rest, we're due out early tomorrow."
  268. >He nods, then continues on his way.
  269.
  270. >Tomorrow we would begin our plan.
