Title: As I March (Poem) Author: Chimeragoose Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/89wBKXJF First Edit: Monday 25th of August 2014 05:12:21 PM CDT Last Edit: Monday 25th of August 2014 05:12:21 PM CDT As I march with the rejects, I find company in the defects. Those who are not cool enough. Not pretty enough. Not strong enough. Not enough To fit in. So I made This charade That you see me livin The new me Devoid of beauty, Forged from a memory, Will incite a mutiny In all that you see, So just leave me be. Told I was wrong, I kept it hidden for so long. Everyone telling me I should be hitting the bong, But I just want to get along. Want to make sure everyone is happy, So I'm sorry if I get snappy, But this world tends to get slap-happy While I'm fighting everyone else's battles, my own life gets a bit crappy. I know my story ain't gonna have a happy Ending, But I'm done pretending Done defending Those that are constantly offending Because they know that I'll back them up, And when the time comes, I'm the one to get fucked up. I know I'm messed up, But it's time you fessed up. Time you stepped up. Now man up. Stop bitching And be the change you want to see But don't listen to me. The boy who wants to be free. There's no terminology For what I want to be. I'm a poet I know it. And I'm gonna show it. Go ahead and throw your fit. Tell me I don't mean shit. That I might as well quit. And I'll tell you to suck it. Fuck it. This is a war. And I know just what I'm standing for. That I'm sick of being treated like I have before. I stand for the boy called fag and the girl called whore. Just because they were a bore. To their accusers. That's right. I'm talking to you, sir. Don't abuse her, or You're gonna lose your life. And you, boy. Cut loose That noose 'Round you neck. 'Cause I respect You. So take a second or two And think through what you were about to do. Tell me if it's worth it. Help me take this person And nurse him Back to health and the wealth That is friends. A relationship that never ends. That heals and mends The scars on your arms And the scars on your heart. Help me take this shattered girl and hold her. Long enough to put the pieces back together. Never leave her. Withdrawn and hidden I've found this hell you live in Where wrongs are never forgiven Where thanks are never given. Awake from your nightmare. Take a big breath of air, And become aware That we all care. Look to me should you ever need guidance As we form this permanent alliance. And we'll show our defiance To this world that shamed us Named us Not as people, but as numbers As we grow number To this illusion This confusion. Pardon my intrusion Into this fake-ass dream, But I'm here to scream And rip it apart at the seams. It seems that we've been living a lie Born to eat, sleep, fuck, and die. No time to laugh. No time to cry. Deny me this life. Call me Cloud Strife Because this life is a lie Created by those in charge So they can be free to barge In And shower us in this sin. I'll put them in my fist And squish And twist With the wrist As I wring the soul Out of those who's goal Is to put us down, Bury us six feet underground. Those that screw with out head Make us wish we were dead Leave us stuck on the words they said Make us realize there's no one else in our bed. But I won't be resigned to this fate. I know I'm a little late To the party, But that's partly Because your bouncer wanted to card me Said "you have to be this cool" I said "Fuck you, you tool. You're just here to look scary and drool As you stare at the people in the pool" While guys like me stand against the wall, Too nervous to move at all While the couples are on the dance floor, I edge closer to the door Praying for A way out No need to shout. Quit making out. I'm about To start running Before they start gunning Lined up in their sights As the lights Get dim They almost had him. By the cuts on his shoulder and the hair on his chinny chin chin. But he's the only one out to get him. He'd rather bleed himself dry than Break down and cry. His friends know how hard he tries But have no idea how much he bottles up inside Sometimes it just explodes Asking for that which he is owed But he can't have it.
