This is so unlike you." >Rarity chuckled to herself while you rolled your eyes. >Sharing a laugh, you all headed inside the town hall to get a good view for the raising of the sun. >It became immediately apparent however that your stature would be a problem. >You didn't want to get in the way of anyone. >You made the decision to stick at the back of the room, encouraging your friends to head forward in the mean time. >No sense they should miss out because you're a lanky fucker. >They seemed a little tentative to leave you on your own. >Pinkie especially made a bit of a scene. >You reassured them that you'd be fine, although eventually Dashie had to drag Pinkie from clinging to you. >Chuckling, you leant against the back wall to get comfy. >You wondered if the town hall was big enough to accommodate all these ponies. >The whole town was turning out for this event. >You watched as pony after pony poured in through the doors. >Not really thinking much on anything, you sort of zoned out as you stared forward at the little booth you assume Celestia would make her entrance from. >That is however until you heard a familiar voice. >"Hello Mr. Anon" >Shaking yourself out of your stupor, you looked down and spotted that pony from Canterlot. >"Looking forward to the raising on the sun?" >Watching with a raise eyebrow as she walked over and sat down by your side. >She had a little wooden box with her and her little dragon assistant trotted in after her. >They both looked pretty exhausted. "Of course I'm looking forward to it, aren't you?" >No answer. >And you thought you were awkward in conversation.     >The next few minutes were spent in silence, or at least between the two of you they were. >Her little dragon had headed to the front, he wanted to see Rarity. >It was intensely uncomfortable. >You had to break the silence somehow. >Clearing your throat seemed to get you cursory glance but not much more. "Sooo...How are you finding Ponyville so far?" >She looked up at you for a moment, her shell seemingly cracking a bit. >"It's...quiet, everypony seems really nice." "That could be because they are." >The chuckle you got from that remark at least told you that you were saying something right. "So what did you do on Summer Celebration's eve?" >"Well as you know I was inspecting the preparations. "I helped out with those...sort of." >"Well they were all pretty good, thankfully they didn't take much time." >She seemed pretty determined about something, but you were sure that'd come up later. "So how'd the inspections go?" >She looked at you with a raised eyebrow, this conversation seeming a a tad pointless to her. >"Well first was the catering, I sampled some food but most of it was gone due to some family reunion which was thankful." >Thankful? >You supposed that AJ could be a little TOO welcoming. >"Then there were the clouds, the pony who dealt with them did a good job." >Yeah, only because you woke her up to do it. >"The decorations were next, as you can see they look great!" >With a nod you agreed there, Rarity seemingly put in her all when royalty was visiting. >"Finally was the music, and that sounds pretty good to me." >You wondered if you actually helped there. >You couldn't deny that thought all of this looked pretty damn good. >You also didn't want to feel like you had any part in it, but still it was nice being around while it was done. >Now all you could hope was that Celestia would like it. >Speaking of she scheduled to arrive soon. "Gonna be a big day huh?" >She took a weird pause at that moment. >"You have no idea."     >Ignoring that odd comment from... >Wait. "I don't think I ever got your name." >You got a little nervous at the look she gave you. >She seemed weary of you. >You were thankful she was the one to break the stare. >"Oh, Twilight Sparkle. Pleasure to meet you Mr. Anon" >Whenever ponies offered you a handshake as a form of greeting, you had to smirk. >You had no idea why, it just looked adorable. >Happily shaking her hoof, you were always happy to make a new friend. >Now wait a moment. >Your hand came to a pause as you awkwardly held her hoof. >She looked at your hand for a moment before giving you a nervous look. >"Uh, Mr. Anon?" >You snapped out of it quickly and let of her hoof with a sheepish smile. "Sorry. This is going to sound weird, but I'm sure we've met before." >She shot you a look like you were the biggest idiot in the world. >"Well...of course we have, we met yesterday?" >You weren't sure if that was the answer of a smart ass or a lack of social skills. "No, I mean before then." >"Oh..well we met briefly when you were introduced to Celestia, not formally mind you." >You knew she looked familiar, she was Celestia's student. >She had been too wrapped up in a book when you met the princess to really notice you. "Well it's nice to officially meet you, oh and by the way you can just call me Anon." >She was about to say something but mayor began some kind of speech. >The music was building to announce Celestia's arrival >All attention turned to the balcony, well all except Twilight who was looking out of a window for some reason. >The suspense was unbearable, just waiting for Celestia to emerge and smile down on you all. >Rarity pulled the curtains back.. >Nothing.     >Gasps ran over the audience, immediately Twilight ran forward through the crowd. >An awkward silence passed over the crowd, only murmured whispers remained. >You stood up away from the wall, walking forward a few paces to get a better view. >The lack of any sign of Celestia grew more worrisome by the second. >Pinkie was rambling about the possibility of Celestia hiding, did she ever take anything seriously? >Other ponies continued to worry and guess as to what was going on. >You wandered over to where your friends stood, they seemed just as confused as anyone. Well, except for Pinkie. >It was when Rarity emerged from the back room and announced that Celestia was gone that ponies really started to panic. >Twilight mumbled something to herself, but you couldn't make it out. >There was an uncomfortable tension in the room. >You weren't one to panic so easily but you certainly didn't like this one bit. >You then noticed something. >There was some kind of strange miasma on the balcony above. >You squinted in the hopes of getting a clearer view. >Twilight seemed far more distraught than other ponies in the room whom just seemed a little panicked. >That all changed when 'she' appeared. >A tall dark mare stood above all, her mane flowing like the constellations themselves. >Her dark gaze and evil smile piercing the hearts of all who were in the room. >"Oh my beloved subjects, it's been too long since-" >She seemed to stop as her eyes fell over you. >"What did you do with our princess?!" Rainbow called out as she attempted to make a charge, luckily AJ was there to hold the hothead back. >The laugh that followed chilled the bones of many ponies around you. >Her gaze didn't seemed to falter from you. >You met her eye, trying to remain somewhat calm. >"It would appear as though one thousand years has brought about many changes.." >You were in trouble.
