"Anon open your eyes." >You do so, and the first thing that draws your attention is how white everything is >Then you spot Luna "What happened? Wheres the water?" "I saw you struggling with your nightmare, so I put an end to it. For tonight at least." >Concern was painted across her face "What's the matter? I was the one with the nightmare." >She looks away from you a bit and opens her mouth "Your dreams are... unique. The intensity of your nightmare made it difficult for even me to halt. Dreams of this kind would drive a pony to the brink of insanity." "That's... kinda depressing actually. Is it that bad?" "Well for a start, what was that beast that was stalking you? I've never seen such a thing. I know of whales, but that was no whale." "That is because it is not from around here. Back in my world they are actually human creations. They are machines capable of carrying a surface dweller deep into the bowels of the ocean. They are called submarines and they have been used for everything from war to exploration." >Luna's face now turned to a look of confusion "T-that doesn't sound nearly as bad as your dream made it out to be. How can such a novel creation cause so much fear?" "I don't have the answers either, Luna. It's just a deeply embedded fear of mine." "Ah... Ok. Well morning will be arriving shortly so I must be off." >She turns and opens a tear out of your mind "BEFORE you go, can you let Twilight know that I have arrived to my new home? Let her know I'm setting down my roots, and that I'm safe. If she wonders where I am have her ask Rainbow Dash." "I'll be sure to let the princess know. Stay well, Anon." >She disappears through the rift and everything goes dark.   >Light shines in. >Right onto your face. >Guess it's time to get up. >Climbing out of the tent, the crash of the waves on the beach below alert you to a new resource you forgot was an option long ago. >Meat. >Right at this time, grumbling can be heard. >Eat first, fish later. >You stoke the coals back into a fire and make some pancakes. >It's a shame there wasn't any syrup in the pack. >You've only been awake for a bit and you already have a list. >Build a cabin. >Find some maple trees. >Fish. >Well one of these takes priority, and is the sole reason you hauled all this crap with you in the first place. >But fishing sounds so good. >No Anon. Fish later, cabin now. >Logs shouldn't be in low supply, as you happened to walk through a literal forest of them. >Getting the logs over here will prove to be a problem. >That cart is looking very attractive right now. >Leaving everything but the axe and the cart back at camp, you walk towards the forest. >It isn't very far. >The pine trees would be the best option for house lumber, being mostly straight and what not. >The entire day is spent chopping and hauling the logs over to the plot. >Going to bed tired and sticky has never been so manly. >The next morning, you pull out that adze you got at the store and go at the logs to make them fit nicely with each other. >All the pieces are ready for the walls to be put up, so its time to build up the foundation. >That cart is proving to be really useful. >The rocks were heavy, but like with the logs, there wasn't much in the way of distance between the beach and your plot. >A square hole about a foot and a half deep had already been dug, and you start to just dump the rocks into it. >This should hopefully provide a sturdy base onto which to anchor and lay the logs. >A small fireplace is laid down as well, with the chimney leading away from the house. >Some limestone would have been nice to have though, concrete would have been way better. >As you finish filling and compacting the hole as much as you can, darkness falls yet again. >Waking up early, you set to work on the walls. >One log at a time, the sides of the cabin take form. >By noon, the cabin is left only without a roof. >What a bitch that is going to be.   >A few hours and copious amounts of swearing later, your cabin has a roof and is now a proper house. >The door and windows may only be tarp right now, but this is a home. >Your home. >You go inside and stoke the fireplace, and set your sleeping bag on the floor. >Oh yeah, rock floor. >A Proper bed is next on the list, but not tonight. >For now, you enjoy the concept of having a roof again. >Twilight is going to regret betting against you.
