- Chapter 3
- "Ugh, my head."
- >You rub a hand against your forehead.
- >For some reason, your hair is all wild and messy.
- >You run a hand through it, shocking yourself rom static electricity.
- >Fuck, that hurt.
- >You sit up and take in your surroundings.
- "... dafuq?"
- >You could have sworn a minute ago that you were walking through a thunderstorm.
- >It was as if someone had plucked you from the city and placed you in the country side.
- >How is that possible?
- >You literally just got off the school bus for the last time in your life.
- >You look around.
- >Your backpack is gone.
- >Diploma gone.
- >What just happened here?
- >You pick yourself up and stumble on a teal-aqua colored cushion.
- >"Ow, what the buck is your problem?
- >That teal cushion... wasn't a cushion.
- >"What kind of idiot steps on a pony's stomach while they're napping?"
- >Pony?
- >The thing that you thought was a cushion stands up.
- >It's a... talking pony.
- >With an aqua-something coat.
- >And rainbow hair.
- >"Listen buddy I-..."
- >The pony turns towards you and lifts up a blindfold.
- >"... what the heck are you?"
- >You let loose a small scream.
- >More like a yelp.
- >You start running away from it.
- >You're high.
- >No, dead. That's it. There's no way a pony could talk, even if you were high.
- >Well, you've never actually been high before.
- >But still.
- >You feel a sudden whip of air.
- >You collide into the pony.
- >"Hey. You. I was talking to you."
- "Haha, yeah. You were."
- >You start stumbling off in another direction.
- >Another whip of wind.
- >Another collision.
- >"Listen, I don't know who or what you are, but you should know that I'm the fastest flyer this side of Equestria."
- >Equestria?
- >Like Equestrian... show horse stuff?
- >You back away from the pony and run as fast as you possibly can.
- >"Seriously, stop. Answer my questions."
- >The pony is flying right beside you.
- >Flying.
- >Matching your pace.
- >You can't believe your eyes.
- >"Hey, watch ou-"
- >You were so busy staring you didn't notice the tree you just ran into.
- >"Whoa, are you alright?"
- >The pony puts her hands... wait, no hooves? on your shoulder cautiously and helps you up.
- >You groan.
- >"Here, let's get you to the medical tent. It's not far."
- >You don't even care at this point.
- >The rainbow-haired pony flies you over to a green medical tent straight out of an old WWII movie.
- >Inside are more ponies. Of various colors.
- >They talk.
- >They're dressed in nurse outfits.
- >What the absolute fuck.
- >You hear their hushed voices.
- >"What is that creature?"
- >"Who is that? What is that?"
- >"Is that some sort of shaved bear with clothes on it?"
- >"What kind of monster did Rainbow Dash bring in here?"
- >All this whispering and talking is driving you mad.
- >You slowly bring your hands up to your ears and cover them.
- >You curl your legs up into a ball, and start rocking back and forth.
- >You're crazy.
- >Completely mad.
- >"Got a mild concussion and a few scrapes. Nothing too serious."
- >A nurse in front of you says.
- >She plops an ice pack on your head.
- >"You're free to go whenever you like. Don't move too much, alright?"
- >You nod your head.
- >You sit in silence for a few minutes trying to wrap your head around the situation.
- >You've gone and teleported to a world where talking ponies are normal.
- >Fuck, that sounds crazy.
- >Maybe you went crazy?
- >You don't think you've gone crazy yet. You're 17. You have your whole life to become crazy.
- >You're dreaming?
- >You slammed into a tree and have a concussive headache.
- >Pain.
- >Nope.
- >Fuck.
- >You press the ice pack against your head and walk outside the tent.
- >The blue rainbow pony is standing there.
- >She has a few friends.
- >A purple pony. And a pink one.
- >And a yellow one hiding behind all three.
- >"See, I told you. Twilight, do you know what that is?"
- >"Sorry, Rainbow, I don't have the slightest idea. You said it just came from nowhere?"
- >"Yeah. It's kinda funny looking."
- >"Rainbow! That's a terrible thing to say.."
- >"What? It does..."
- >"Have you tried talking to it, yet?"
- >"Well, not really... but I don't think I want to."
- >"... well, we can't have a repeat of Zecora."
- >The purple one walks up to you.
- >"Hello there. Uh, my name is Twilight Sparkle."
- >You stare at her.
- >"... We've never met a creature like you before."
- >She circles around you.
- >"... Are you listening to me?"
- >You keep your eyes glued on her.
- >"Do you even talk?"
- "Yeah."
- >"Okay? Well, uh... do you have a name?"
- "A-Anonymous."
- >Twilight looks at you knowingly.
- >"... really?"
- >You nod.
- "My name is actually Anonymous."
- >"Alright then? Are you-... what sort of creature are you?"
- >You shake your head.
- >This is so bizarre.
- "I'm a human."
- >The ponies you've become acquainted with bring you to the library.
- >Located in a tree.
- >You swear, you're in some sort of video game fantasy world.
- >Twilight gives you a nervous smile.
- >"I've sent for the Princess. She'll be arriving at nightfall."
- >Rainbow Dash, the first pony you met, set out to retrieve a few more of her friends.
- >The pink pony went to get some food, apparently.
- >"Anonymous?"
- >Fluttershy nudges your arm softly.
- >"Are you... I mean, is everything alright?"
- >You're in an unknown world with a bunch of talking ponies.
- >You don't think you're alright.
- "I'm fine."
- >You give her a soft smile.
- >For some reason you think you know this pony.
- >Her soft voice.
- >Shy personality.
- >She has a nurturing aura around her.
- >It's not just her.
- >All of these ponies are familiar.
- >You don't know why.
- >"What's got you all riled up Rainbow?"
- >"Yes, do tell us Rainbow. What could possibly have you all excited?"
- >The front door bursts open.
- >Rainbow Dash jumps inside and points directly at you.
- >"That."
- >You watch an orange and white pony stare at you.
- >"Rainbow darling, do tell... what exactly is that?"
- >"I'unno. It called itself a human."
- "It... is a person."
- >"I beg your pardon?"
- "A person. Me. Someone with thoughts. And feelings."
- >"You're a-... huh? Where on earth did you come from?"
- >You have a feeling like you've had this conversation before.
- >You had the same feeling ten minutes ago when you explained yourself to Twilight.
- >"Girls, please!"
- >Twilight sighs.
- >"Anonymous here is a human. Despite her appearance, she's just like any other pony."
- >"What the heck is a human?"
- >Rainbow asked.
- >"I'm not sure. But we can't have a repeat of Zecora. Just because she looks... different, doesn't mean we should treat her that way."
- >You like Twilight
- >She's very rational.
- >And she's defending you.
- >"But what exactly is a human?"
- >"Something that is not from here."
- >A warm motherly voice comes from the doorway.
- >Her voice is soft and strong at the same time.
- >It gives you a feeling of safety and serenity.
- >"Princess!"
- >The ponies bow before a tall white winged-unicorn.
- >You stare in awe.
- >Mostly at her magically flowing hair.
- >"Princess, I though you were arriving at nightfall!"
- >Twilight said rather nervously.
- >"If I had known you'd be early, I would have made some preparations."
- >"That's quite alright Twilight. I simply changed my priorities. And right now, that is you."
- >Celestia points at you.
- >You are speechless.
- >You can't think of anything to do.
- >You bow your head to her.
- >"It's an honor to be in the presence of the first human in Equestria. However, it's of great concern that you're even here. You have some explaining to do."
- >Explaining?
- >"How is it that you are here?"
- >You shake your head.
- "I have no clue. I kinda just woke up here."
- >Celestia gives you a concerned look.
- >"You have no information regarding the matter?"
- "None."
- >"Well, that's quite strange. But not surprising."
- >The Princess places a hoof on your shoulder.
- >If it weren't for the fact that you thought you were crazy, you might have flipped out that someone of royalty was touching you.
- >"I was hoping to get some answers. But if you don't know, there isn't much I can do."
- >Your gaze falls.
- >So, you're stuck here?
- >"Since we don't know how you got here, we have no way to send you back. As much as it pains me to say this, there is a very big possibility that you will be stranded here."
- >You slump in your seat.
- >Of course you were stuck here.
- >Some part of you still half-believed that you were high and this would end.
- >You aren't that lucky.
- >"I trust that you'll be cooperative with us while you are here?"
- >You nod.
- >"Twilight Sparkle, take a note please."
- >Twilight fumbles around with a scroll and quill.
- >"Until more information comes to light, the royal sisters of Canterlot do approve the following motion; The human known as Anonymous will be residing as a normal citizen of Ponyville. Please welcome her warmly."
- >"Got it."
- >"Please deliver this to Mayor Mare's office, first thing tomorrow morning."
- >Twilight nods.
- >"Now, about residence. Anonymous will certainly need a place to sleep and to call home while she's here."
- >"Um, Princess, if I may?"
- >Twilight approaches you.
- >"I have plenty of room here in the library. If you'd like, you're welcome to stay."
- >You blink.
- "Uh... are you sure?"
- >"It'll be fun. Besides, I can give you a few notes and help you adjust to Ponyville."
- >Twilight is definitely getting on your good graces.
- "Yeah... Okay."
- >"Excellent."
- >The princess claps her hooves together.
- >"Well. I believe that is everything we need to take care of for now."
- >The princess speaks privately with Twilight for a few moments before departing.
- >You hear Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity whispering to themselves, probably about you.
- >A few minutes later, they, along with Fluttershy, leave the library.
- >You sit in silence.
- >Well, that could have gone a lot worse.
- >Twilight scuffs a foot against the floor.
- >"So, um. Are you hungry at all? Want me to cook something?"
- >Before you could answer, there was a knock on the door.
- >You answer it.
- >A tower of pies and cakes falls on you.
- "Pf-wh-what the?"
- >God, you're covered from head to toe in frosting and filling.
- >A pink pony walks up to you and licks off some of the frosting.
- >"Sorry there Anonymous."
- >"Pinkie Pie? You missed the Princess. Where were you?"
- >"Sugarcube Corner, duh? I had to get the food for the party."
- "Party?"
- >"For Anon's welcome party!"
- >Did she just call you Anon?
- >Pinkie pulls out a hat and places it on your head.
- >She aims and pops a confetti can at you.
- >You groan.
- >You've never really been a party person.
- >"Pinkie, now isn't the best time... we can hold a party for Anon some other time."
- >Twilight's calling you Anon too?
- >You suppose it's better than Anonymous.
- >Twilight sighs and sends Pinkie back home.
- >She starts cleaning up the mess.
- >"There's a bathroom on the second floor. You're free to wash up."
- >You nod and head upstairs.
- >Being covered in sugar isn't fun.
- >You gingerly slip out of your caked clothes and step into the bathtub.
- >Your foot slips, causing you fall back, slamming your head agains the bathroom floor.
- "OW! FUCK!"
- >You grip the back of your head in pain.
- >You hear a pair of footsteps.
- >"Uh... hello? Are you alright?"
- >What the?
- >Who was that?
- >You pick yourself up from the floor and look at the doorway.
- >You vision is a little spotty from the fall, but you can make out a purple and green blob.
- >Kinda like a baby dinosaur.
- >You remember you're all sticky and aren't wearing anything.
- >You instinctively try to cover yourself up.
- "Wha? Who are you?"
- >"I'm Spike. Who are you? And why do you have frosting all over your body?"
- >You feel your face flush red.
- >You hear another set of footsteps.
- >"Spike? Anon? What's going on?"
- >Twilight peers in the doorway.
- >Have these ponies heard of privacy?
- >"Anon?"
- >"Anon is a human we just met today. She'll be staying with us for a while. Maybe longer."
- >She stares at you.
- >"Did you fall?"
- >You give a nervous laugh.
- "C-can I get a little privacy?"
- >"Uh, yeah. Sure."
- >Twilight is still staring at you.
- >She gently pushes Spike out of the way.
- >"Anything you need?"
- >You look around.
- "A towel would be nice. And maybe some clean clothes?"
- >"I don't think I have anything that you could wear..."
- "Oh."
- >Crap.
- "Do you have a bedsheet maybe?
- >She tilts her head.
- >"Um... yeah? I can get you that."
- "Thanks."
- >Twilight picks up your clothes.
- >"I'll have Spike clean these for you.
- >You close the door behind her and step back into the tub.
- >Carefully this time.
- >You put the shower curtain back into place.
- >You turn the shower nozzle and feel a spray of ice cold water.
- >You hold the urge to scream.
- >You breathe in shallow breaths and wait for the water to adjust.
- >The door opens.
- >"Hey, the towel's right next to the sink. Bedsheet too."
- "Thank you."
- >The rest of your shower goes without a hitch.
- >You dry off and start tying the bedsheet around you.
- >Not a very good job, but you can't complain.
- >You start walking down the steps.
- >Your foot gets caught on one of the corners of your makeshift robe.
- >You tumble down the stairs and land flat on your face.
- >Your whole body is sore from the fall.
- >You huff a soft, pained laugh.
- >You're hurting.
- >This isn't a fake fantasy dream.
- >You feel some tears coming on.
- >You don't even care.
- >Twilight rushes to your aid.
- >She pulls you into a hug.
- >You hug her back.
- >You rest in her arms for a few moments.
- >Suddenly the world dims.
- >Colors start graying, disappearing.
- >What is happening?
- >You have no idea.
- >"ALL ALONE."
- >You hear a familiar voice.
- >One that frightens you.
- >It's coming from Twilight.
- >"ALL ALONE."
- >It's deep and dark and demonic.
- >You realize that Twilight hasn't let go of you.
- >You try to pull away from her and can't.
- >You notice her eyes have completely darkened to black.
- "Twilight?"
- >All of this seems familiar.
- >All of this is scaring you.
- >Twilight's grip tightens around your body.
- >Slowly but surely, she constricts you.
- >Your body shudders at her icy touch.
- >"YOU ARE ALL ALONE."
- >You lock gazes with Twilight.
- >The world disappears into black.
- >You're floating in darkness.
- >You can't even see a hand in front of your face.
- >It's become rather hard to breathe.
- >In the distance, you can hear indescribable noises.
- >Noises that only you could hear.
- >Screams from your mother when you were young.
- >A screech of car brakes before a crash.
- >The sound of wedding bells when your dad remarried.
- >The sound of your hands clawing against the metal railing on the playground.
- >Memories that you would have rather kept locked away.
- >You finally remember.
- >It's a dream.
- >You're in a nightmare.
- >You'll be in nightmares every single night.
- >For the rest of your life.
- >You breathe one final breath.
- >Your lungs are gasping for air.
- >You can't move and drown the vacuum of the empty void.
- >Your consciousness jolts awake.
- >You're barely hovering above the bed.
- >Mara is laying over you.
- >His touch is gentle and warm, but solid.
- >He's actually touching you now.
- >It looks like your being engulfed by a swarm of violent wisps.
- >"YOU ARE-"
- >You remember his words from the dream.
- >You're all alone.
- >"ALL MINE."
