  1. Chapter 22
  2.
  3. >You’re not exactly sure what to believe right now.
  4. >Especially the whole raping you while you’re asleep.
  5. >But you’ve had these sorts of dreams before.
  6. >Never quite as vivid.
  7. >But it makes sense.
  8. >You hear Discord out.
  9. >”We’ve run into a problem and it’s delaying your rescue.”
  10. “Come again?”
  11. >”Chrysalis has partially destroyed one of the elements of harmony. You remember, she turned the other half of the Element of Kindness to obsidian?”
  12. >You nod.
  13. >”We trying to reverse it but so far no luck. That’s put a damper on things. You see, none of the other Elements will work until we make Kindness whole again.”
  14. “Why can’t Celestia use her magic?”
  15. >”Chrysalis is growing stronger from stealing energy from you two. Right now, she’s more powerful than both Luna and Celestia combined.”
  16. >Well that sucks.
  17. >”What about you? Aren’t you a god?”
  18. >You stare at Mara.
  19. >”Yes?”
  20. >”Why aren’t you just storming in here? Can’t you just destroy all of the changelings?”
  21. >”My magic is limited right now.”
  22. >Your stare shifts to Discord.
  23. >Limited?
  24. “What are you talking about?”
  25. >”It’s rather hard to explain.”
  26. >”Just tell us the short version.”
  27. >Discord sighs.
  28. >”Chaos can only exist if there is harmony to wreak havoc on.”
  29. >You’re getting tired of never understanding anything.
  30. >”I can only use the magic of chaos if there is harmony. Since the Elements of Harmony aren’t whole, there is no harmony to be found. No harmony? No chaos.”
  31.
  32. >Damn.
  33. >”That sucks.”
  34. >”Yes. It quite unfortunate.”
  35. “So... where does that leave us?”
  36. >”It leaves you stranded here until we can find a way to fix the elements and rescue you.”
  37. >You groan.
  38. “Isn’t there anything else? Like... fuck, didn’t Cadence and Shining Armor stop them before?”
  39. >”If Princess Celestia and Luna aren’t powerful enough, Cadence and Shining Armor won’t fare much better.”
  40. >You grumble.
  41. >You can’t just give up.
  42. >”Can’t we get help from somewhere else in Equestria? Or maybe even outside of it?”
  43. >Discord shakes his head.
  44. >”Your only shot at escape is the elements. The magic of friendship is quite possibly the only thing powerful enough to stop Chrysalis and her army.”
  45. >Fuck.
  46. >”We’ll keep working on repairing Kindness. But for now, you’ll be stuck here.”
  47. >You let out a scream of frustration.
  48. >”We’re doing everything in our power, believe me.”
  49. “Believing in you doesn’t get me out of here.”
  50. >Discord sighs. He undoes Mara’s bindings.
  51. >”I know, things are looking bleak. I’ll be popping in every now and then to give you an update.”
  52. >You nod.
  53. >”Also, one last thing... we can’t let the changelings know I was here.”
  54. >Discord kicks Mara to the ground and surrounds him with a cloud of smoke.
  55. >”This is just a suggestion, but you two might want to take up roleplaying.”
  56. “... what?”
  57. >”Mara, make sure to transform into me and take my spot.”
  58. >Mara growls.
  59. >Wait, what is he talking about?
  60. >The walls around you start cracking.
  61. >”Anon, don’t freak out. Just relax.”
  62. >The world around you starts to fade.
  63. >Discord sighs.
  64. >”You know Anon... you really are quite lovely...”
  65. >The dream collapses.
  66.
  67. >You feel a sharp pain in between your legs.
  68. >Your eyes fly open.
  69. >Discord is on top of you.
  70. >Inside you.
  71. >Oh god.
  72. >He clamps his paw over your mouth and gives you a wink.
  73. >He pulls out.
  74. >A sudden flash of light illuminates the cave.
  75. >It quickly dissipates.
  76. >You open your eyes slowly.
  77. >Discord slides his cock back into you.
  78. >”Anny...”
  79. >What?
  80. >You stare at him.
  81. >Mara?
  82. >Fuck.
  83. >Mara slams himself into you and puts his mouth to your lips.
  84. >You feel his beard tickle your neck.
  85. >You let out a soft muffled moan.
  86.
  87. >You break away from his kiss.
  88. “Y-you’re... so dead-ahh... after this.”
  89. >Mara ignores you.
  90. >”Sorry Anny, but you’re just so... captivating.”
  91. >He even sounds like Discord.
  92. >This is so... bizarre.
  93. >He’s hitting you deeper than before.
  94. >It feels... good.
  95. >Fuck.
  96. >His arms grab your hips.
  97. >You shudder.
  98. >This is ridiculous.
  99. >You focus on breathing.
  100. >Clearing your mind.
  101. >You ignore everything.
  102. >And hopefully this will end soon.
  103. >The occasional feeling of pleasure creeps up on you.
  104. >But you shut it out.
  105. >This is not how you want to be woken up.
  106. >Or how you want to be treated while you’re sleeping.
  107. >And you most certainly are not going to enjoy it.
  108.
  109. >Mara finishes up and cuddles against you.
  110. >You let him.
  111. >You just focus on breathing.
  112. >You aren’t going to get angry at him.
  113. >Or Discord for that matter.
  114. >You’re just happy it’s over.
  115. >”It’s just some roleplaying... you don’t have to get all worked up about it.”
  116. >Easy for him to say.
  117. >He’s never on the receiving end.
  118. >Mara transforms back into his usual ghostly self.
  119. >You hear footsteps just outside the door.
  120. >It’s Bambi and Nemo.
  121. >At least, you think it is.
  122. >You can’t tell.
  123. >The defining traits they had are completely gone.
  124. >In fact, they look bigger to you.
  125. >”Are you-...”
  126. >”-alright?”
  127. >Wait, what?
  128. >They can talk now?
  129. >Their voices are dry and airy.
  130. >As if their throats had holes in them.
  131. >Somehow, you’re not very surprised.
  132. >Mara laughs to himself.
  133. >”That’s a first.”
  134. >You scowl.
  135. >He’s definitely reading your mind again.
  136. >They glare at him.
  137. >”We have-”
  138. >”-a request for-”
  139. >”-the human.”
  140. >They’re speaking in that annoying manner where they finish each other’s sentences.
  141. >You roll your eyes.
  142. “Alright, shoot.”
  143. >”Will you-”
  144. >”-feed our young?”
  145. >You blink.
  146. >What?
  147. “What do you mean by feed?”
  148. >”Give them prana.”
  149. >Prana?
  150. >”Make them strong.”
  151. >They bow their heads to you.
  152. >You blink.
  153.
  154. >You aren’t sure this is a good idea.
  155. >The two of them nearly killed you moments ago.
  156. >Or... however long ago it was.
  157. >You had no idea how long you were asleep.
  158. >You look at the two changelings.
  159. >”See them.”
  160. >”Give them strength.”
  161. >They’re bowing towards you.
  162. >Eyes closed.
  163. >As if they were begging.
  164. “I-...”
  165. >You don’t know how to respond.
  166. >They raise their heads and look at you.
  167. >”You understand?”
  168. >”Our young need food-”
  169. >”-and if we do not give them nourishment-”
  170. >”-they... will die.”
  171. >You stare at them.
  172. >What?
  173. >You freeze.
  174. “Die?”
  175. >Your voice is shaky.
  176. >One of the pair goes back to the tunnel.
  177. >And they return.
  178. >With a tiny little changeling, carried by the mouth.
  179. >Its eyes are clamped shut.
  180. >It’s so fragile looking.
  181. >Weak.
  182. >Nemo, or Bambi, you can’t tell which, sets the tiny creature on the bed in front of you.
  183. >You can’t look away.
  184. “How do I even...?”
  185. >Nemo... you think it’s Nemo, grabs your hand with his hoof.
  186. >He gently pulls it to the child changeling.
  187. >You’re inches away from touching it.
  188. >Nemo lets go before you do.
  189. >You hand hovers for a moment.
  190. >Touch?
  191. >You have to touch it?
  192. >”Makes sense...”
  193. >Mara says.
  194. >Fuck.
  195. “... if I do this, I want the two of you to answer a few questions. Truthfully.”
  196. >They nod.
  197. >You take a deep breath and reach out.
  198. >You carefully place your fingers on its back.
  199. >Almost immediately, feel your energy being sucked away.
  200. >Not as quickly as before.
  201. >But you can slowly feel yourself growing tired.
  202.
  203. >You can see the changeling squirm under your touch.
  204. >You hold your breath.
  205. >Is what you’re doing even working?
  206. >Its eyes slowly flutter open.
  207. >It yawns.
  208. >And looks at you.
  209. >You see a fang slowly grow from his mouth.
  210. >He gives you smile.
  211. >You breathe.
  212. >Okay...
  213. >”You okay?”
  214. >Mara asks, placing a claw on your shoulder.
  215. >You nod.
  216. >”Then let go.”
  217. >What?
  218. >”He’s fine now. Let go.”
  219. “He’s not-... I have to-”
  220. >”There are millions of changelings in this cave, and more hatching soon. You’re going to kill yourself doing this.”
  221. >You shake your head.
  222. >”Let go.”
  223. >You reluctantly pull your hand away.
  224. >The changeling shakes its head, and tries to stand.
  225. >It stumbles, nearly falling off the edge of the bed.
  226. >You grab it, and pull it towards you.
  227. >Mara sighs.
  228. >”Fine... don’t listen to me.”
  229. >You won’t.
  230. >You pull the changeling into your arms, and give it a hug.
  231. >When they’re so helpless like this... you can’t help but feel sorry for them.
  232. >You keep him in your arms for a few minutes.
  233. >The holes in his legs start to patch up.
  234. >His fangs become razor sharp.
  235. >And he grows.
  236. >When he gets to be the size of a large dog, you put him down.
  237. >He shakes his head again.
  238. >Looks at you.
  239. >And gives you an affectionate lick on your face.
  240. >”Thank you.”
  241. >He gallops away down the tunnel.
  242. >You stare at him until you can’t see him anymore.
  243. >You fold your arm over the other, rubbing it nervously.
  244. >It’s all about survival.
  245.
  246. >Survival.
  247. >That’s why they want you.
  248. >That’s why you’re here.
  249. >You shudder.
  250. >The death of millions of changelings?
  251. >That’s a huge burden.
  252. >You almost want to sympathize with Chrysalis.
  253. “... so about those questions.”
  254. >Mara?
  255. >You let your thoughts resonate in your mind.
  256. >He looks at you.
  257. >Good, you have his attention.
  258. >’Relay the information to Discord... or whoever.’
  259. >He gives you a light squeeze on your shoulder.
  260. >”Ask what you want.”
  261. >”We shall try to answer.”
  262. >You don’t know what to ask.
  263. >You have so many questions.
  264. >You take a deep breath.
  265. “Well... I’m getting sick of calling you Bambi and Nemo, so let’s start with your names?”
  266.
  267. >”We do not have titles.”
  268. >Really?
  269. >”You are free to call us however you like.”
  270. >You start thinking.
  271. >You’ve never named anyone.
  272. >Let alone a changeling.
  273. >Changelings were sort of scary to you.
  274. >Not that they looked scary.
  275. >But they had the power to be anything they wanted.
  276. >Maybe you should give them some quirky, badass names?
  277. >You point to the shorter of the two.
  278. >Bambi, you guess.
  279. “Feral.”
  280. >The other.
  281. “Eisen.”
  282. >You look at them.
  283. “That okay?”
  284. >They look at each other, shrug, and nod.
  285. “Anything I should know about you two?”
  286. >Eisen jerks his head to the other.
  287. >”He’s a soldier.”
  288. >Feral looks at his friend.
  289. >”She’s a worker.”
  290. >She?
  291. >You facepalm.
  292. >How the fuck are you supposed to tell the difference?
  293. >”They’re changelings? Maybe you can ask one of them to change their voice?”
  294. >You look at Mara.
  295. >You know, that’s not a bad idea.
  296. “Can you do that?”
  297. >Eisen nods.
  298. >You hear a screeching noise coming from her mouth.
  299. >”Is this suitable?”
  300. >She sounds much softer.
  301. >You nod.
  302. >It’ll do.
  303. “Okay... another question. Do changelings feed on anything else other than love?”
  304. >They tilt their head.
  305. >Feral nods.
  306. >”We feed only on love.”
  307. >Okay.
  308. >That’s what you were expecting.
  309. >Though you were hoping that they would eat up hate.
  310. >Or friendship.
  311. >Twilight and the others have loads of that.
  312.
  313. “If something happens to Chrysalis, what will happen to you?”
  314. >They narrow their gazes at you.
  315. >”Nothing will happen to our Queen.”
  316. >You gulp.
  317. “H-hypothetically speaking? I just want to know...”
  318. >Eisen glares at you.
  319. >”One will take her place and continue as she did.”
  320. >”Though it will never happen because NOTHING will happen to our Queen.”
  321. >You’re surprised.
  322. >Is it really that simple?
  323. >You were expecting something like, “if Chrysalis is dead, we would die too.”
  324. >Isn’t that how a hive works?
  325. >Kill the head, the body dies?
  326. >That’s what would have happened in a movie or novel back on Earth.
  327. >You frown.
  328. >This complicates things.
  329. ”Can-... are you able to transform into other things? Besides ponies?”
  330. >They look at you and take a step back.
  331. >One of them transforms into a young dragon, similar to Spike.
  332. >The other one morphs into you.
  333. >You stare at your copy.
  334. >Shit.
  335. >That really complicates things.
  336.
  337. >You look at them carefully.
  338. >Feral’s copying your every move.
  339. >Is that really what you look like?
  340. >You feel kind of embarrassed, seeing your naked body move that way.
  341. “One... one last question.”
  342. >They flash green, returning back to their normal bodies.
  343. “Can you overfeed on love? Or maybe store up on it?”
  344. >If so, you’d graciously donate all the love you could.
  345. >Though you have no idea how you would do that.
  346. >Your fingers are crossed.
  347. >They look at you carefully.
  348. >”No.”
  349. >...
  350. >Shit.
  351. >They want to keep you forever.
  352. >Or at least until you die.
  353. >That... sucks.
  354.
  355. >You sit in silence for a few moments, taking it all in.
  356. >Hopefully Mara’s paying attention.
  357. >A thought passes through your head.
  358. “Wait, hold on. Why do you need Mara then?”
  359. >The changelings look at you.
  360. “You can absorb love from me directly. Why did Chrysalis want to use an incubus?”
  361. >”We... do not know.”
  362. >You feel uneasy.
  363. >They don’t have an answer.
  364. >It’s bothering you.
  365. >Why would Chrysalis use Mara?
  366. >If every single changeling could just steal the love straight out of you, why bother having Mara at all?
  367. >You look at Mara with concern.
  368. >Is she planning on using him?
  369. >You can almost hear her saying something.
  370. >Always two steps behind.
  371. >Did she plan for this from the start?
  372. >Mara doesn’t seem phased by this at all.
  373. >”I’ll be fine Anon. Just worry about yourself.”
  374. >You open your mouth to retort.
  375. >Just then, your stomach growls.
  376. >You sigh.
  377. “I’m sorry, one more... what’s for breakfast?”
  378. >Feral disappears.
  379. >He comes back with a stone bowl filled with leaves and small berries.
  380. >Fantastic.
  381. “You wouldn’t happen to have any strawberries, would you?”
  382. >Feral shoots you a look.
  383. >You give him a shrug.
  384. >Eh, you tried.
  385. >”I will search for them.”
  386. >Really?
  387. >He disappears down the tunnel.
  388. >You smile.
  389. >At least they were trying to be hospitable.
