This time, however, you're stuck at the café. >You aren't alone. >Minty, Birch, Hexferry and two other moths you don't know very well. One of them goes by "Kitty" while the other goes by "Lamp". >Kitty is very fluffy, and she doesn't talk very often. >Lamp wears a lampshade on her head, and she speaks about as often as Hexferry does. >Both seem to be fairly calm, especially about the trapped situation you're all in. >The owners of the building are fairing the worst. >Minty is franticly making sure nothing has been damaged already, while Birch is checking the supplies to make sure there's enough for a few days. >Just in case you're all stuck here that long. >That won't actually happen. >You roll your eyes. >... No matter how odd and unorthodox, Lamp's light-up... lampshade... is quite useful. You don't know where its power comes from, but you also don't care. If it didn't have that illogical power source, none of you would be able to see at all. >There is no other light. >All of the windows are completely covered in snow, and the café's power is out. >There are no candles in the building for... bookstore reasons. >You, Hexferry, Kitty and Lamp are laying down on the floor of the bookstore half. >Minty and Birch both said they didn't need Lamp's light for their searching, though that was likely only to not inconvenience her. You doubt they can actually effectively check their tasks without light. >... You turn to Hexferry. >She was huffy about the situation a few hours ago, but she's gotten used to it, just like the rest of you have. >"Hey, Minty!" >Birch yelled something and walked back into the main room.   >"What is it?" >They both stumble around the room until they eventually find each other. >Birch is holding a glass bottle. >"I found this in the pantry. What was it doing there? Also, there's no way this can be healthy..." >"H-hey, come on, that's... mine. It doesn't really serve a purpose I just..." >"Why the pantry?" >"... I didn't actually know it was there. I lost it forever ago." >The two stand there awkwardly for a few moments. >"Well, Birch, I'm glad you found this. This could actually help out." >Minty grabs the bottle and walks toward the circle of ponies laying on the floor. >"Who wants to play a game to help calm down?" >... Everyone else just stares at her. >The cyan mare loses a bit of her confidence but continues on anyway. >"Come on, let's play Spin the Bottle! That's always a good way of unwinding." >Well, you thought she was going to suggest drinking the contents of the bottle as a game, but playing a game you've never heard of is obviously a much better choice. >... Hexferry's blushing intensely. >Okay... >Kitty didn't really react, but Lamp and Birch seem somewhat shocked. >Minty sets the bottle in the middle of the circle and sits down between Lamp and Hexferry. >Birch reluctantly sits down between Lamp and Kitty. >Birch and Hexferry don't want to play. >They haven't even said anything, and you know they're against it. >"M-Minty, that's way too far. I know we're stuck here, b-but that doesn't mean we should..." >Hexferry trails off. >"Come on, worried your darkest secrets will come to light?" >... An odd sense of confusion fills the air. >Lamp tilts her head, shifting the light around all of you. >"Minty, what are you talking about?" >The cyan mare looks worried and glances at each of you for help.   >"I just... I mean, you can pick. You don't have to pick Truth, you can pick Dare..." >... Everyone just stared at her for a while. >Birch leaned forward. >"That's Truth or Dare, not Spin the Bottle." >"Wait, then what's Spin the Bottle?" >Kitty explains before Birch can even stutter out a reply. >"Someone spins the bottle twice; the two it lands on have to kiss." >... Well. >Minty recoils and blushes more than Hexferry. >"W-w-what?! Since when?! I don't... Forget it! Truth or Dare!" >She gives the bottle a powerful spin. >You watch as the "points" spins past you several times. >... It slows down and eventually stops on Birch. >She simply blushes and looks away. >"So, Birch... Truth or Dare?" >"Truth." >Minty smirks. >"What's your favorite genre of book?" >Birch gasps and stares at Minty indignantly. >"How am I suppose to pick a favorite? They're all so great! I can't just..." >Minty's smirk hasn't faltered. >"... Fine. My favorite is Mystery." >Birch spins the bottle. It lands on Lamp. >She chose "Dare" and was told to do a jig in the middle of the group. >It wasn't difficult at all. >She spun the bottle. >Hexferry. >"T-Truth..." >"How close are you and Caramel?" >Just as planned, Hexferry blushes out of control. >"W-we're just friends! Why does everyone think there's more to it than that?!" >Everyone else seemed to find it comical. >Hexferry, though she felt like she lost, spins the bottle. >... It slows to a stop. >All eyes go to you. >You're certain you've picked up the rules for this basic game by now, so you know what's coming next. >"Sh-Shimmer, Truth or Dare?" "... Dare." >Most of them seem surprised. >Did they honestly expect you to pick Truth? >Not even Hexferry knows a sizable portion of your life.   >You're too secretive to ever pick Truth. >So you'll just choose Dare. >"W-well, uh... I dare you to..." >She desperately looks around the room for inspiration. >"... Take off all of those layers." >That shocked everyone. >Hexferry was confused for a moment, then her face heated up with embarrassment. >"N-no! Sh-she'll overheat in all of those layers! I'm j-just being a good friend!" >Lamp leaned forward. >"I didn't know you had it in you, Hexferry. That's sly." >You tune out the rest of their argument as you take off your clothing, one by one. >The café was heated well enough, you didn't need to wear them this entire time. You were actually the only one wearing anything at all this entire time, besides Lamp's lampshade. >By the time you were unclothed, they stopped arguing. >You spin the bottle. >... It points to Kitty. >You just stare at her. >"Truth." "Why 'Kitty'?" >"I didn't choose the name, it was given to me. Did you choose your name?" >... You don't dignify that. >She didn't give you a good answer, you won't give her an answer at all. >Kitty takes her turn and spins. >... >Many different semi-interesting things happened. >Hexferry admitted she had at least one crush in her life, even though she didn't say if she had any current ones. Birch dared Minty to do a provocative dance for all of you, it just looked spastic and uncoordinated. Lamp had to do an impression of Virgo, she just used that weird tone and said something stupid, it was spot-on. >There were many others. >Currently, it's Kitty's turn to spin. >Before she can, however, Minty yawns and makes an announcement. >"This one's the last one, okay? This has been great, but it's about time to go to bed."   >Everyone sleepily agrees. >The bottle spins one last time. >For the finale... >You. >She doesn't say a word as she stares at you. "Dare." >"Well, since this is the last round... I dare you to sleep curled up with Hexferry." >Lamp snickers, Birch and Minty blush and Hexferry seems mortified. >"You can't make a Dare affect others!" >"What about Birch having to hit on Lamp? You didn't complain about that." >Before the heated mare could counter, Lamp interrupts them. >"Come on, no arguments now. We need sleep. Don't worry about it, Hexferry, none of us will say anything about what happens in here, so Caramel won't tease you about it." >The four get up and walk to different parts of the room away from you and Hexferry. >"Goodnight, everyone." >With that, Lamp's light turns off and all visibility is gone. >Hexferry sighs and lays down. >You grab your clothing to use as blankets. >Slowly, you curl yourself into Hexferry's embrace. >... It... feels odd. >You're not sure if it feels "wrong", but it definitely feels "odd". >... Usually she's curled up into your embrace. >Though, you don't offer your embrace, you just find her there when you wake up from a sleepover. >Everything is backwards. >"J-jerks..." >... No better point has ever been said. >... >Leaving the café wasn't easy, but you all managed to get out the next you were awake. >Nothing you did there was spoken of to anyone who wasn't there, but you can all talk about it when alone. >It's an odd sense of trust you never would have expected from such a childish game. >... You somewhat enjoyed it.
