~Inquisitor Stebbins in Equestria~
A Story for a good Friend and Namefag
~~~~~~Chapter 3 or some shit~~~~~~
>Not too long after the events of the last chapter, you find yourself in Town Hall, sitting in a chair next to the Mayor's podium
>Town Hall seems spectacularly crowded this evening
>Every pony in the town must be here at this meeting
>You feel more and more nervous with each passing minute
>All this staring is going to drive you mad
>Not that you can say you aren't crazy already
>The Mayor of this "Ponyville" takes her place at the podium, somehow holding a gavel with her hoof
>A few sharp bangs from the tiny wooden mallet and silence falls across Town Hall
>"Alright! Good evening, everypony! Sorry for calling a meeting this late, but this is a matter of utmost urgency!"
>The Mayor may be just a pony, but she sure knew how to sound authoritative
>"As you can see, a strange creature has found its way into our town! We need to figure out what we're going to do with it, and how!"
>Referring to you as "it" is a little rude, but somehow you don't feel like you're in position to make requests, let alone demands
>All the ponies began murmuring again
>The mayor rapped her gavel on the podium once again to command silence
>"First, our resident animal experts! Do you have any idea what this creature may be, Fluttershy?"
>At the question, a timid-looking, yellow pegasus rose from her seat
>"U-um...It kind of looks like...a monkey of some sort? I've never seen this species before though..."
>She slowly lowered back into her seat, turning slightly pink in the face
>"Alright then," the Mayor continued. "So clearly it is a type of simian!"
>"A rather intelligent one at that, considering the fact that it can speak our language."
>The purple unicorn from earlier rose from her seat
>"Yes, Twilight Sparkle?" the Mayor asked
>"Mayor Mare, if I may inquire, do you think I'd be able to have this creature stay in the Library? I could prepare a living space in the basement for it and study it."
>"Hmm...I can't say it's a bad idea. You're the foremost research authority in our town. I suppose for now, unless anypony objects, we can adjourn until a later date while Twilight watches over this creature."
>Dead silence throughout the hall
>Looks like everyone is either too tired to object, or too wary about turning down another pony's gracious offer to keep it away from the rest of them for the time being
>The mayor took this as the final word of the populace. "Okay. Meeting adjourned. We'll reconvene next week at mid-day. Have a good night, everypony, and be safe on your way home."
>She banged her gavel one more time before leaving the dais and exiting the hall, her secretary in tow
>Every single pony in the hall began talking at once, killing the silence
>Some stood around in circles while other talked as they walked out
>The unicorn, Twilight Sparkle, approached your seat
>She didn't seem as cautious as the others
>"Well, looks like I'll be taking care of you until next week. I'll have Spike prepare a bed in the basement. I look forward to learning about you, Mr..."
>"Stebbins..." You say
>You were starting to get fairly tired yourself
>"Mr. Stebbins" she reiterates
>At that, you and Twilight made your ways out of Town Hall and over to the town Library
