Title: In the Darkness of Canterlot High 2/?? Author: BossSheep Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/ENa2VnHJ First Edit: Tuesday 17th of June 2014 11:32:20 PM CDT Last Edit: Tuesday 17th of June 2014 11:32:20 PM CDT >Be Norman Normal >You've previously been enlisted against your will for some Tactical Espionage Action. >Even though you've been through quite the debriefing, you have no idea what you're doing. >Rather than stand around, however, you figure you better start walking towards the back of the school. >After making it around the school, you eventually come across the loading dock to the basement that Chloe mentioned. >All the garage doors are sealed shut, naturally. >There's one door, but you have no idea if it's even a valid point of entry. >You walk up and turn the nob. It opens without any resistance. >You enter and quietly close the door behind you, your bluetooth earpiece crackles to life. >"Norman?" "You got Norman. Chloe, can you hear me?" >"Loud and clear. What's the sitch, cousin?" "The door I found back here was unlocked. I'm in. Doesn't that seem a little suspicious though, that they'd leave a back entrance unlocked?" >You peer through some of the mostly filled shelves and see a few students, most likely stationed as guards, patrolling the area. "Not only was it unlocked, but apparently Nolan put some people down here?" >"Maybe they just forgot?" Chloe ruminated. "Either way, good to hear you're in." "Shhhh. Hold on..." You quiet her as she's about to object by switching off the earpiece and try to hear what's happening across the room. >>"Stay put. He'll be through here. I know it...I'm going to take care of some unfinished business." >Shit, that sounds like Nolan. Did he know you were coming? >You hear the cage of a cargo elevator close and then the elevator itself ascending. >Is he really using the fucking food elevator? There are stairs quite literally right there. >You get down on one knee and switch your receiver back on. "Chloe? Still there?" You whisper into your piece >"Yeah, what was that about!? Why'd you turn it off!?" "It looks like Nolan was expecting someone to be coming through here. He just left on the elevator." >"Why did he use the elevator? Isn't that for freight?" "That's what I was thinking. The stairs in the back are a much less noticeable way in, so I'll be using that." >"Roger, but make sure nobody sees you. This line will be open during the whole operation. If you need to contact me, just speak up. If I need to contact you, I'll do the same." "Right." >You stand and decide not to waste time. Every minute spent here is another minute without an Xbox controller in-hand. >Fortunately, only two students are patrolling around, and there's ample room to avoid them. >Best not to take risks exposing yourself. You really just need some alone time with Nolan. Others would surely complicate that objective for you. >You stay low and eventually manage to make it to the back where the door to the stairwell and the elevator are. >You twist the knob on the door. >It sticks in place, not even turning a centimeter in either direction. >Fuck. >Of course they'd lock THIS door. "Chloe?" >"Yeah, Norman?" "The fucking stairs are locked." >"Well, get elevating then. Just wait for it to come down and stay hidden." >Like you don't have that much common sense. >Not even a minute after sitting behind a box to the side, the elevator arrives and another student steps out. He must've been sent to get a report from the two stationed here. >As quickly as you can, you slip into the elevator before anyone notices and hit the "up" button. >It's surprising nobody noticed the elevator loudly closing and heading back. >You take the short ride up as a minute to gather your thoughts. >Was sex between periods really Nolan's motivation? >That doesn't really sound like something he personally would come up with. >Even so, the Saints could easily slip past the rules and do pretty much whatever they wanted anyway. >Why all this trouble for something seemingly so insignificant? >And why do you, Norman, have to be the one to settle all this? >Okay, given your relationship with Nolan, that last question is simple to answer. >The elevator grinds to a halt at the first floor and opens. >You casually walk out into a small room. "Hey Chloe? Mind telling me where I'm at?" >>>"You're in a storage room behind the kitchens, Norman. After all, this is how they deliver all the food to the school for lunch." "C-Chloe?" >"Wrong answer, Cousin. Sophie has joined us for this operation. Celestia assigned her to be our visual and data processing specialist." "Visual what and what?" >"She'll give you information about the school. Say hi!" >Why couldn't she have just said that in the first place. Where is she getting all these words that she never uses from? >>>"Hello, Norman." "Uh, hi, Sophie. So I'm where exactly?" >>>"According the gps tracking data from your iPhone, you're in a storeroom behind the kitchens at the back of the school." >Why does she have access to your phone's tracking info? >You really should turn that off. "Alright, thanks. Where should I go from here?" >>>"We're not sure, really." >"Just go wherever Nolan goes." >Gee, thanks Chloe. If only it was that easy. "...Uh, how about I just get out of the cafeteria for now..." >You quit conversing and walk out into the kitchen. You can clearly see the whole Cafeteria from here, so you quickly lower yourself behind the serving counter and peek over. "Two more sentries, huh? I just need to get out of here and into the hall, and I should be good..." >God damn, why are they making this so difficult? >You check the time on your phone. >Only 45 minutes have passed since you were dragged off to Chloe's shed. >It's felt like hours. >Where the fuck is Nolan? >"Norman?" >You sigh. "Yes?" >"The school has a ventilation system you might be able to squeeze into. Might be fun~" >Yeah, no. This is painful enough already without having to crawl around like a rat in the vents. >Determined as ever to find Nolan and end your misery, you pick up a serving spoon from the counter and chuck it to the far side of the cafeteria. >It clangs loudly against the linoleum tiles in the corner. >>>>"Huh, what was that?" >The two guards move to check out the noise. >As quietly as you can, you slip over the counter and rush out the open double doors of the cafeteria, round the corner, and press up against the wall. >Your heart is pounding, but you don't think they noticed. >You don't have many stealth games under your belt, so this is going to get hard fast. >Damn, bro. What's going on?   To Be Continued. Confidence waning. As usual, feedback appreciated but not required. Pastebin will be provided in the following post. [spoiler] I will try my damnedest, dammit. Gonna take a bit of a break from this for lighter, more normal stories though. [/spoilers]
