- “I’m guessing this is the last adventure you partake with me?”
- >Rainbow Dash nods as you return to town.
- >Ponies were never meant to deal with the horrors that waited down below.
- >Things have started to become routine for you.
- >Stop by Twilight.
- >”Hey Anon.”
- >Identify your shit.
- >”Here you go Anon.”
- >Same old stuff happening every day.
- >Not even the scent of fresh ale is enough to get you going.
- >You drink deeply regardless, noting the loss of flavor.
- >”Drinkin alone ey?”
- >Applejack plops down next to you.
- >She orders a bottle of her favorite poison.
- “What’s up now?”
- >”Whatcha mean?”
- “You don’t go outside of your little workshop for nothing, so what do you need?”
- >”Can’t a mare enjoy a drink now and again?”
- >You plainly stare at the p0ny.
- >”Alright alright, ya caught me. I heard something that might interest you is all.”
- >You take another hit of ale.
- “Well then, spill it.”
- >”I had heard from my contacts that a caravan was moving westward. It was carrying some sort of stone, magical and all that.”
- “Didn’t make it.”
- >”Ambushed, they said. They scoured the wreckage, but it wasn’t there. Now Twilight has been going on about some energy she’s felt since the event.”
- “Sounds like it is hidden just beneath our feet.”
- >”Exactly. If you could bring that rock to me, I could make it worth your while.”
- “Decisions decisions. Get drunk and work the bottle, or venture forth and acquire a magic chunk of rock.”
- >”I think the answer’s obvious sugarcube.”
- “I guess you’re right. Rarity another round!”
- >”I meant the rock.”
- >You smile, “I know.”
- >Rarity ventures over, setting you down a fresh pint.
- >”Any new adventures lately darling?”
- “Besides the epic quest for an inn sign? Nope. Going out tomorrow though.”
- >”Really? Do tell.”
- >The same ‘ol nosey Rarity.
- “Some caravan got ransacked and their magic rock got stolen.”
- >Wait. Rarity, gems, magic, rocks.
- “How would you like to join me on this grand adventure?”
- >”Anon now, Rarity would never agre-
- >”I’d be honored to join you.”
- >”W-wha?”
- >Applejack can’t seem to wrap her head around it.
- >”Why in Equestria would you knowingly put yourself in that situation?”
- >”I know a thing or two here Applejack. I may be rusty, but I could certainly help him locate, whatever it is you’re looking for.”
- “A magic rock. I wonder how that’s going to look in my biography.”
- >You can see it now. Anon: Slayer of Demons, Retriever of Signs and Savior of Magic Rocks.
- >You’ll make sure to edit that part out.
- >”Well, what are we waiting for? I’m ready when you are.”
- >You take in the last of your ale.
- “Well I ain’t. I just got back from my last little quest, so I think I’ll sleep before I head off again.”
- >Applejack agrees with you, “No sense in running him ragged.”
- >”Well, when you wish to depart do let me know ahead of time.”
- “Will do Miss Rarirty. Now if you’ll excu- whoa!”
- >You trip over your own feet, Dash swooping in to catch you.
- ”Fast as ever.”
- >”Clumsy as ever.” She lets you lean on her, “I’ll help you up to your room.”
- >You manage to get up the stairs and into your bedroom.
- >”Rarity’s next huh?”
- “She wanted to go, kind of like you did.”
- >”I… needed to see it for myself.”
- >You stroke her wings reassuringly, twitching at your touch.
- >”Cut it out,” she jokes, “They’re sensitive.”
- >No rest! “Tickle attack number 45.”
- >You rustle her feathers relentlessly, Rainbow Dash kicking and laughing just like you remembered.
- >She lands a blow to your face causing you to fall backwards; you grab her, pulling her with you.
- >You finally give in, taking enough punches to deem her the winner.
- >”I missed this.”
- “Me too.”
- >You wrap your arm around her neck and give her a noogie.
- >”Don’t make me knock you on your flank again.”
- >You throw up your hands sarcastically.
- “I give, I give.”
- >You grab your bag, rummaging through its contents.
- >”Looking for something?”
- “Just a- damn book. I found it on the way out.”
- >”You’re such an egghead.”
- “I’m sorry if I’m not Daring enough for you.”
- >Her face turns pale, ”She didn’t…”
- >You smirk.
- “Twilight talks a lot if you pump her full of enough alcohol.”
- >Her anger only makes her look cuter.
- “I don’t hold it against you. Books are good every now and then.”
- >”You… wouldn’t happen to read them would you?”
- “Daring-Do? Hell yeah I read those books. Helped me pass the time when I first got here.”
- >Her face lights up like a Christmas tree.
- >”You want to read the new one?!”
- >You were kinda hoping to have a good night’s sleep.
- “What the hell? If you have it, let’s read it.”
- >She giggles in glee as she darts out the room, coming back with the latest edition.
- >”You’re going to love this one. I heard the mare that wrote it got the idea from a fan.”
- “Really? That’s neat. What’s the title?”
- >”It’s kinda weird, but the book itself is great.”
- >She hands it to you, the title in big yellow block words with Daring-Do shrugging on the cover.
- “Daring Do and the Search For Fucks To Give.”
- >So she really does read her fan mail.
- >You stifle a giggle as you open it up.
- “Special Thanks to a dedicated fan who wishes to remain Anonymous.”
- >”That’s one lucky p0ny.”
- >Yes you are.
- >You clear your throat, starting from the top, “The night was humid…”
- “And so, swinging from the vines of the jungle, Daring-Do finally found it. She found the one fuck to give.”
- >You close the book slowly as not to disturb the slumbering Rainbow Dash.
- >It was a good book; though a little off pace of what you meant in your letter.
- >Even still, it’s nice to have influenced something as well known as the Daring-Do novels.
- >You find the book you were looking for, though on further inspection reveals itself to be a journal of some kind.
- >Regardless you open the journal, reading the only legible entry.
- "All praises to Discord - Lord of Chaos and survivor of the Dark Exile. When he awakened from his long slumber, my Lord and master spoke to me of secrets that few mortals know. He told me the kingdom of the High Heavens and the burning realms of Tartarus engage in an eternal war. He revealed the powers that have brought this chaos to the realms of p0nfolky. My master has named the battle for this world and all who exist here the Sin War."
- >Well then. That was certainly interesting. Heaven and Tartarus at war?
- >Pfft… Twas the ramblings of a mad man and nothing more. The only lord you know of is the one that resides in your pants.
- >You set the book upon your nightstand and yawn, your reading session wearing you out.
- >You’d move your sleeping friend, but she just looks so damn peaceful.
- >You slip under the soft covers of your bed, tucking in the shivering Rainbow Dash as well.
- >You pull her close, sharing your body heat with the mare.
- >Tonight’s a good night.
- >You stretch out your arms as you wake. You yawn, taking in the first breath of the day.
- >Sitting up you find yourself in bed alone, Dash watching you at your bedside.
- “The creepiness has been doubled.”
- >She chuckles lightly, something obviously on her mind.
- “Something wrong?”
- >”No. Well yes, but… Did we um- Did we…”
- >You can almost hear the Jeopardy music playing in your ears.
- >You finally understand.
- “N-no. Of course we didn’t.”
- >”What do you mean ‘of course’?”
- “I didn’t mean it like that. I mean you’re an attractive mare and all…”
- >This is why you don’t be a gentleman.
- >She cracks up in laughter.
- >”I’m just joshing you. It’s all good.”
- >You breathe a sigh of relief, stepping out of bed.
- >”Didn’t picture you as a p0ny man myself.”
- “Hey if there’s no other options…”
- >”Comfortable knowing we’re a fall back.”
- “HEY! I’m rolling with the punches here.”
- >She escorts you back to the inn floor where the two of you share a meal.
- >Apples and bread, the breakfast of champions.
- >”Plans for today?”
- >You nod, “I get to search for the ‘magic rock.’ Fun times.”
- >”Still planning on taking Rarity?”
- “If she hasn’t changed her mind.”
- >You ask why she cares so much.
- >”We may not see eye to eye, but I still care about that mare.”
- >”Do me a favor and keep her safe.”
- “I’ll do my best.”
- >On cue, Rarity enters from the back room.
- >”I’m ready whenever you are.”
- >You drain the last of your water, taking every ounce of nourishment you can get.
- “Let’s hop to it then.”
- >”Be careful down there Rarity.”
- >”Of course, Anon will be there to help me.”
- >Yeah, like that’s gonna happen. If she follows your orders she’ll be fine, otherwise she’s on her own.
- “Just follow my lead.”
- >You say your goodbyes to Rainbow Dash and head outside.
- >You resupply yourself with goodies, Fluttershy selling you some potions for a small fee and Applejack making some last minute repairs to your assembly.
- >Twilight’s a doll once again, volunteering to pawn your items off to Zecora.
- >Going all the way out there is a hassle, and for the most part she doesn’t have anything you really need.
- >You tighten your belt and enter the portal, Rarity following close behind.
- >You just hope she fairs better than Rainbow did.
- >”What is that appalling aroma?”
- >The gate fizzles away behind you, and you don’t have a scroll to get back.
- >Now you’re going to have to deal with Rarity’s constant bickering for this little adventure.
- >How fucking swell…
- “The things down here don’t have the luxury of a shower.”
- >”How do they live with themselves?”
- “Whoever said they were living?”
- >She gives you a shocked look before you move down the staircase.
- >”So what are we in for exactly?”
- “If memory serves,” you say as you step downwards, “I’ve faced parasprites, fillies, skeletons, zombified p0nies, minotaurs and invisible unicorns.”
- >The stone around you slowly shifts to a green hew as moss appears ever-present the deeper you go.
- “But I don’t exactly what we’ll be facing this time, they don’t stay very consistent.”
- >”You’ve killed all of those? You’re quite the warrior.”
- “I don’t know about that. I’m having a harder time the deeper I go, and if it weren’t for these puppies,” you rub your potions, “I would have died long ago.”
- >”I’m thankful you them then.”
- “So am I.”
- >The stairway twists around slowly becoming more of a stairwell.
- >The traditional grey has become a grayish brown with a hint of green as age and weathering takes its toll.
- >You soon hit the bottom of the stairs and take your first steps into this new area.
- >”This place seems awfully familiar.”
- “I know. I feel like I should know where I am.”
- >You can’t quite put your finger on it, but Rarity’s right, this place is definitely familiar.
- >You run your hand across the wall, tearing off some of the moss and taking a waft.
- >It’s old, so very old. No living being has walked these halls for hundreds of years.
- “We’re in Ponyville’s catacombs.”
- >You can’t believe you didn’t realize it sooner. You had read an article in the Foal Free Press a couple years ago, one of the darker ones.
- >”I thought I had heard of this place, why would any-“
- “Quiet!”
- >She shuts her mouth, basking the room in silence.
- >You knew you heard something, but it’s gone now.
- >”Ano-“
- >You hold up your finger, the subtle tapping disappears as she quiets down.
- “Rarity. Stay very still.”
- >You walk up to her, the hushed steps in cue with yours.
- >”Anon you’re scaring me.”
- “Just. Stay. Still.”
- >You look over her, drawing your sword, the slightest shimmer of light just behind her.
- >Gotcha now.
- >You grab hold of Rarity and twirl her behind you, using her momentum to thrust forward.
- >The grey ooze slides down your blade, your enemy shifting to visibility.
- >You press your foot against its chest and kick it of your sword, washing off your sword with your pants.
- “Looks like we know one of the creatures we’ll be fighting.”
- >”How did you see that?”
- “I didn’t. You have to rely on all your senses in this place, not just sight.”
- >You show the corpse to Rarity noting its evident differences from what it was before.
- “Nothing is as it seems down here.”
- >”Was Sweetie Belle…”
- “Don’t start. Not here. I need your mind clear.”
- >She nods, casting aside her troubles, “Where to?”
- >You focus, sensing more creatures up ahead.
- “That way.”
- >You turn the corner, slashing first asking questions later.
- >You find the parasprites, though their numbers have been cut immensely.
- >Seems they like to keep to the surface.
- >The minotaurs on the other hand…
- >You give one precise kick to his knee, breaking the bone and piercing his heart with your sword.
- >”How many are there?”
- “Too many.” You move inward, entering one of the crypts, a murky pool in the middle.
- >Curious. You move towards it, gazing into its depths.
- >”Anon?”
- >It’s… strange. It’s almost like it’s-
- “GHAAA-“
- >You grip your head, a searing pain erupting within.
- >Rarity rushes to your side, “Anon what’s wrong?”
- “Fucking magic water bullshit tits ass damn turkey GAH!”
- >You lean against the wall, panting and heaving as the torturing pain persists.
- >You open your eyes, the pain receding, but still very much present.
- “What?”
- >You’re looking at a wall, but- you can look behind it as well.
- >You rub your temples, and turn around, a red glow beyond.
- >”Are you ok?”
- >What is that? You move towards the ominous glow, Rarity following close behind.
- >The light begins to take shape the closer you get.
- >It’s a-
- >You open the door, getting a face full of minotaur crotch.
- >You pound instinctively, the minotaur dropping to eye level.
- >Another slash and he’s out for the count, adrenaline pumping through your veins.
- “I- I saw-“
- >”He certainly was a big one.”
- >You shoot Rarity a glare. You’re obviously not on the same page.”
- “Get your mind out of the gutter. I can see…”
- >She blushes, as you salvage what you can from the room, easily finding its valuables with your new talent, including a rare yellow potion.
- “It’s like I could sense him, truly sense him. Not just through will, but with my eyes.”
- >You focus, your head still pulsing, spreading your mind to the rest of the level.
- >The monsters… you feel them, see them, hear them…
- >”What do you see?”
- >You turn your attention to her, the power starting to fade.
- “Everything.”
- >You follow the nearest signal, feeling the wind rushing about it. It’s light whatever it is, wings as well. A bird?
- >The image clears up; a bird indeed resides ahead of you, the plague within clear as day.
- >You follow the hallway, the creature you felt seemingly vanished.
- “Where?”
- >”Anon!”
- >A large squawk sounds from above you.
- >You raise your shield, the creature stopping just before it strikes.
- >”Get it now!”
- >You look from behind your shield, the bird flapping and crying out in midair, a slight glow outlining it.
- >”I can’t hold it all day!”
- >You notice Rarity’s holding it back and strike the bird down.
- >Rarity sighs in relief, loosening her hold as the corpse hits the floor.
- >You kick the bird for good measure, making sure it’s dead.
- >You’ve never seen a bird quite like it. It stands tall like an eagle, but with black feathers.
- >You take a closer look, a gush of flame forcing you back.
- “That’s a new one.”
- >”Poor thing. It’s a shame.”
- “You know what this thing is?”
- >“It’s a phoenix, how didn’t you know?”
- “I’m not exactly a native okay, plus my knowledge of mystical creatures is a little rusty.”
- >”Well well, don’t get your saddle in a twist.”
- “Sorry, I get a bit short when things get the drop on me.”
- >”Should we continue on ‘Mr.Use all my senses’?”
- “Don’t tempt me woman. I’m moving blind here, how about some magic help here?”
- >She rolls her eyes, her horn illuminating the dark halls.
- “Well?”
- >She points her hoof to down a passageway, “Down there.”
- “Finally earning your pay.”
- >”You don’t pay me.”
- >It’s your turn to roll your eyes.
- “You know what I mean.”
- >You work your way down the hall, hitting a doorway.
- >You turn the handle, a snap ringing out as it swings open.
- “Duck!”
- >You grab Rarity and pull her down with you to the ground.
- >Wind brushes up against your neck, a thud echoing before you.
- “That was close. It’s not the first time I heard that sound.”
- >”Anon…”
- >You look upwards, the arrow stuck midair.
- “Guess we’re luckier than I thought.”
- >You pull out the arrow, knocking the Hidden Unicorn aside.
- >You encounter several more unicorns along the way along with a few phoenixes.
- >They aren’t terribly strong, but they close in faster than you’d like.
- >They’re more of a nuisance, but a threat nonetheless.
- >You finish cutting down one of the many denizens when you feel the rush fill you again.
- >You succumb to its power feeling a boost to your strength.
- >It soon subsides, leaving you feeling empowered.
- >”W-what was that?”
- “Excuse me?”
- >”What did you do just now?”
- “You felt it too?”
- >”It was surreal. I’ve seen a lot of things, but that was something completely different.”
- “So am I.”
- >She prattles on about how important this was, sounding more like Twilight than ever.
- “If you ask me one more question I’ll be sure to answer none. Now, where to?”
- >She pouts but complies, using her magic once more.
- >”It’s behind you.”
- >You turn around, sure enough another door lying at your back.
- >How the hell did you miss that?
- “You know, you’re not bad Rarity,” You say opening the door, “I wish I met you sooner.”
- >A gut-wrenching roar booms from the room, followed by an intense pressure in your stomach.
- >You smile, “Well. How nice.”
- >You stumble backwards, plopping down on your ass.
- >Rarity quickly comes to your side, talking without sound.
- “Do speak up dear, I can’t quite hear you.”
- >She tilts your head down to your stomach, a substantial hole in your gut.
- “Oh…”
- >You look back to the door as a large unicorn comes trotting out, its horn covered in blood.
- >He looks like a nice fellow, maybe he would like to help you on your- ooooohh!
- >The pain comes rushing back along with your hearing, Rarity screaming in your face.
- >She presses a flask to your lips and you drink deep of its liquid, feeling your wound being to close up.
- >”Get up Anon! Get up!”
- >You stand up, grimacing as your wound isn’t fully healed yet.
- >You point your sword to your attacker, a smile growing across his face.
- >He lances at you with his horn which extends two feet longer than you’d like.
- >You lock your own blade against him, fighting him like you would another human.
- >He jabs and thrusts, but is all power and no grace.
- >You easily maneuver around him, scoring enough blows to end him.
- >You don’t have time to cheer as another bestial roar echoes from within along with the clopping of hooves.
- >The unicorn charges outwards toward you, horn cast straight at your heart.
- “Don’t these guys have another attack?”
- >You wait for him to get within range, quickly slamming down on his horn with your buckler.
- >His horn crashes into the floor, snapping off with a cool liquid squirting from his open wound.
- >He begins to shrink back to normal size, his muscles dissolving without his horn intact.
- “Interesting.”
- >Rarity hits you with her hoof, “How could you do that to me?! You had me so worried, why didn’t you dodge it?!”
- “I didn’t know he was there.”
- >”I thought you saw everything!”
- >You probably should’ve told her that faded out a while ago.
- “I may have lost that ability back there. I forgot to-“
- >She hits you again, irritated beyond belief.
- >”Next time you pull a stunt like that you’ll be getting your own ale.”
- >Heading straight for the weak spot. Clever girl.
- “Duly noted.”
- >You enter the room, the light diminished greatly within its walls.
- >You walk up to the pedestal, another book resting upon it stained with blood.
- “...and so, locked beyond the gateway of blood, and past the hall of fires, Valor awaits for the hero of light to awaken...”
- >”Valor?”
- “You heard of it?”
- >”It’s just an old mare’s tale; it’s not supposed to be real.”
- “Well according to this it is.”
- >You keep reading, there’s something about blood gems and a fountain, but nothing about its location.
- >”Are you forgetting why we’re here? The rock is close-by, let’s just take it and go home.”
- “Fine. Where now?”
- >She points her hoof to the wall, “Behind there.”
- “Oh okay, let me get my demo crew so we can tear it down.”
- >”There’s likely a way around.”
- “Really, ‘cause I don’t see any?”
- >”Don’t give me that attitude. I will not stand for it.”
- >You grunt and try to focus. How to get through the wall?
- >You’re not strong enough to break it, there’s no side passage.
- >Why would anyone put a room blocked by three feet of rock?
- >Think Anon. There’s always a way…
- >A fountain…
- >You look around for it, eyes darting about.
- “There!”
- >You find the fountain off to the side, blood filled to the rim.
- “Locked beyond the gateway of blood…”
- >”Are you still prattling on about that? Didn’t I tell you-“
- “This is about getting past the wall. You can help, or you can quiet down. What is it?”
- >She humphs at you, “How can I help?”
- “You can locate gems right? Any type?”
- >”Why yes I can.”
- “Good, try it for me.”
- >”I don’t see what you’re trying to accomplish by this,” she says casting her spell, “you’re wasting your time.”
- >You ignore her statement trying to find the blood gems.
- >A twinkle resonates from outside, you rushing over to it.
- >You kneel down to the corpses, a glow coming from within them.
- >Your mother always wanted you to be a doctor.
- >You make a large incision on his stomach and reach inside, feeling around his intestines until you came across a solid chunk.
- >You lift it out of his guts, the gem reflecting the light with a beautiful crimson hue.
- “Two to go.”
- >You move over to the second corpse, performing the same procedure.
- >Two for three, you just need one more.
- >You move back to the fountain, hands stained with intestinal fluid.
- >”Do tell a lady before you do something like that.”
- >You place the gems into the slots of the fountain’s rim.
- “Okay, where’s the third one?”
- >She looks down into the pool, gesturing you to join her.
- >You glimpse into its depths, the gem at the bottom.
- “No one said things were going to be clean.”
- >You reach into the pool and grab at the gem, your hand passing right through it.
- >You attempt again, yielding the same result.
- “That’s impossible.”
- >”Magic is not a force to be reckoned with darling. Let’s just go back.”
- “How do I get the gem?”
- >”Please don’t persist, nothing good will come of it.”
- “Rarity. How?”
- >She reluctantly answers, “Drain the bowl, only then will its contents be rewarded.”
- “Drain as in…”
- >She nods. Well fuck.
- >You move your head to the pool, taking a deep breath.
- >Rarity’s face shifts to that of sheer horror as you bring your mouth to the fountain’s edge, taking in its red essence.
- >You chug it down, the salty liquid flowing down into your stomach.
- >You almost gag, but press on. You’re not giving up that easily.
- >Taking in the last of it you fall backwards, the urge to purge present as ever.
- >Rarity rushes to the empty fountain, snagging the gem seconds before you vacate your stomach.
- >You project the mixture of blood and vomit to the floor, heaving for air as it never seems to stop.
- >Rarity provides some comfort, rubbing your back as things begin to die down.
- >The blood runs between your legs, flowing back into the fountain where it belongs.
- “Did you- get it?”
- >She gives you the gem, helping you to your feet.
- >Your little puke session really took it out of you, but you manage to drive the gem into the final slot.
- >The wall creaks open as it recedes back into the walls, revealing its inner chamber.
- >You stumble towards the room, finding the rock safe and sound.
- >Now you just have to the fucking dragon guarding it.
- >You shakily bring up your sword, failing to get into stance.
- >”Anon wait!” She slowly approaches the dragon, his green fins quivering in anger, “Spike?”
- >Wait… that’s spike? He’s not small, he’s taller than you!
- >”Can you hear me Spike?”
- >A puff of smoke fumes from his nostrils as she approaches.
- >”We don’t mean any harm, we’re just looking for some-“
- >Spike reels up and smacks away Rarity with his tail, “Spike want!”
- >His tail coils around the rock, hiding it behind him.
- >You charge him, hitting Rarity a step too far.
- >He smacks you away with little effort, your weakness sending you flying into the wall.
- >Rarity’s eye tear up at the treatment from her friend, “What happened to you?”
- >You try to get over to her, your strength failing you.
- >”Please Spike, listen to me…”
- >He huffs and puffs, his mind clearly not his own.
- >A friend wouldn’t do this, and you need to stop him.
- >You reach into your bag, pulling out the mystical potion you found, chugging it, earning a burst of energy.
- >Spike opens his mouth, sending a pillar of flame jetting towards Rarity.
- >You roll in front of her, blocking with your shield as the flames scorch either side of you.
- >The flames subside and you take your cue to stand up.
- “No one hurts my friends,” you get into stance, “No one.”
- >Spike stomps towards you and you towards him, engaging in close quarters combat.
- >You block and roll out of his swipes, him doing the same for yours.
- >Your strikes hit nothing but air as he dodges your attacks, copying your own stance.
- >Well, if you’re going to be that way.
- >Improv time.
- >You attack wildly, changing directions without any thought or understanding.
- >He attempts to follow, but can’t seem to catch onto you.
- >You cut across his eye, just missing the fleshy center.
- >He grunts and dashes away from you, running out of the room.
- >He’s gone for now, but that was too close. You couldn’t keep up that attack style for long.
- >You help up Rarity who was watching the whole scene.
- >”Anon…”
- >She passes out in your arms.
- >Now you have to carry her as well, dammit.
- >You pick up the stone, its energy pulsing in your hand, and stow it in your bag.
- >You keep walking up the steps, a chest at the top.
- >You click it open, its contents shimmering from within.
- >A smile forms on your face before you place it along with your stone.
- “Mare’s tale my ass.”
- >You leave the bloody chamber and search for an exit.
- >Another spiral staircase leads upwards, but you’re unsure exactly where it goes.
- >It wasn’t where you entered, but right now it’s a chance to escape and you’ll take it.
- >You walk up the stairs, carrying the unconscious Rarity on your shoulder.
