  1. >I had a fluffy for about six months when I was younger.
  2. >I named her Kibbles. I don't know why. She liked it though.
  3. >Kibbles loved to go on the swings at the park.
  4. >Every day, after I'd get off work, we'd walk to the park.
  5. >I'd boost Kibbles up into the baby swing and help her get her fluffy pony legs through the holes.
  6. >I'd push her for awhile and listen to her squeals of delight.
  7. >After getting bored of pushing, I'd pick up her fluffy little body and cradle her in my arms.
  8. >We'd just sit on the swings while I'd pet her.
  9. >"I wub you daddy."
  10. >"I love you too Kibbles. Daddy loves you very much."
  11. >That love is what made everything even harder.
  12. >You see, one Saturday morning I received a letter from my landlord.
  13. >It said that the apartment complex we lived in was being foreclosed on.
  14. >Kibbles and I would be homeless. I didn't know anyone in the area. We'd just moved there.
  15. >Knowing that she'd never survive the stress of a move or being homeless, I knew what I had to do.
  16. >After my last day of work at the gas station, Kibbles and I made our daily trip to the park.
  17. >I even bought her an ice cream cone. She smiled her goofy, crooked little smile and thanked me.
  18. >I boosted her up into the swing just like always.
  19. >This had to be different though.
  20. >I kissed her forehead and hugged her tightly.
  21. >In one fluid motion I wrapped the chain around her little fluffy neck and pulled it taut.
  22. >I saw her tiny legs kicking in the seat as she gasped for air.
  23. >The veins in her eyes were beginning to bulge from the growing blood pressure.
  24. >I closed my eyes and gritted my teeth hard to stop myself from sobbing.
  25. >I gave the chain one good jerk upward and heard a sickening crack as Kibbles' neck broke.
  26. >Her tongue lolled out of her tiny mouth
  27. >Blood spilled out of her now slacked jaw.
  28. >Her eyes glazed over as I watched the light leave them.
  29. >"Daddy loves you very much Kibbles."
  30. >I picked her up and carried her back to the house in the grocery bag that I'd gotten from the store.
  31. >I buried her in the back yard in an unmarked grave.
  32. >I never had another fluffy pony again.
  33.
  34. >I'm sorry Kibbles.
