"Don't you ever listen to your elders?" you say, your lips curling into a grin. >He smiles, but it seems forced. "No matter... you did save my life. I don't seem to be apt for this life anymore... my glory days were long ago now..." >Your breathing gets heavier, and he notices this.   >He sits down, not minding the blood on the floor. >Your blood. >He leans against the opposite railing, staring at you with a neutral expression. "Hmmm, I know. Here, for you," you say, offering him a few things from your pouch. >Your Crow Hunter Badge, and a rune. >The blood moon hangs low, and the howling of beasts sounds more twisted than ever before. >You're going to leave him here, and he knows that. >And it looks like he's running short on... friends. >Why must it hurt? >You weren't one for companionship, but... >Everybody's going a little mad, aren't they? >He eyes the badge in his hands, and you give him a small laugh. "This, too, is hunters' work, but bears no honour. A burden you may choose to carry. The decision is yours alone." >He looks up at you, regarding you with wide eyes. >You'd think he'd shed a tear, but you know that there's no room for that in Yharnam. >The pain from your wounds have numbed, and your body is beyond the point of no return. "Ahh... my eyes grow weary..." >His stare looks anxious now, but you give him a soft smile. >He returns it. "Let me rest a while... I'll be fine, just wait..." >Your words don't move him. >Shouldn't he be moving on? >You know he's going to be the one to solve this mess. >You can feel it in your bones. >Yet, he remains. >And you realize that you don't want him to leave. >He seems to know this. >So he stays. >And you breathe, because it's all you can do now. >Your eyelids become heavy, and you close your eyes for the last time. >But you still breathe, and he still hasn't left. >It takes awhile for you to die. >The dream has turned to hell around you. >You failed your mission. >Yet you feel at peace. >A final breath escapes your lips. >And the last thing you hear is Anonymous standing up to leave.
