  1. >It's been two years since you were transported into Equestria. You still have no idea why you're here, or how you got here, despite ongoing investigations by princess Celestia.
  2. >At this point you don't really care why you're here, you're here now and that's all that matters. Besides, you've adjusted nicely.
  3. >When you first arrived, the very first p0ny you met was twilight. She found you unconscious on the edge of the Everfree forest, while she was running errands. You must have appeared in the air and fallen some distance, because your left leg was badly broken, and you had large gouges on your head. She took you in to her library and nursed your wounds. If it wasn't for her, you may have bled to death.
  4.
  5. >That's not all you owe to twilight, though. She let you stay at the library with her for almost a year, teaching you all about how life works in Equestria, and she even got miss rarity to hire you at her boutique.
  6. >Twilight was ecstatic when you first told her that you wanted to learn more about p0ny history and culture, and ever since she's been teaching you everything she knows. Over the past two years you've grown close to twilight, every day you stop by her library for study lessons, you often stay and visit with her even when your lesson is done. She always seems so happy to visit with you and often talks about princess Celestia, which is fine with you, you just enjoy her company. There's something about her that just captivates you, maybe it's the way she talks, or that you can hold a conversation with her.
  7. >You actually have a study date planned for today, you two are going to discuss magic and how it affects all kinds of p0nies. However, you have a little surprise in store for twilight.
  8. >You wake up at about 10 in the morning and get ready for the day. It's your day off, and you deserve to sleep in after the long hard work you've been doing all week. A simple bowl of Gorilla Munch, an orange and some tea make up your breakfast and fortify your jimmies for the day ahead. You put on your casual black blazer, slacks, dress shoes and deep red undershirt, topped off with your.. Er, top hat.
  9.
  10. >With a quick check in the mirror, a grab of your coin bag and your keys, you set off to p0nyville market to pick up your surprise gift for twilight. As you make your way there you find a certain pep in your step. The sun is high in the sky, with only a few sugar white clouds floating around. The air is cool and crisp, with a gentle breeze, and everyone seems so cheerful today.
  11.
  12. >As you stroll through the market, p0nies all around you stop and wave to you, ask you how you are, and share general goodwill. You stop by Rose's flower cart and pick up a deep crimson rose and a purple carnation. You pay your bits and adorn the carnation in your blazer, and set off to get your special gift.
  13. >Soon you find yourself outside of P0nyville's jeweler. You walk inside at call out:
  14.
  15. "Hello, Mister Facet? I'm here to pick up my project!"
  16.
  17. >A grey earth stallion with a white mane and jewelers goggles walks out from behind the shop and greets you with "Oh, mister anon, Just on time! I'm just polishing your order now, I'll go get it for you. "
  18.
  19. >And with that, the jeweler disappears behind the counter and fetches a slender, long black box and hands it to you. You open it and gently pull out a sliver necklace, with small star chain-links that twinkle like the night skies, each intricately carved into flowing patterns.
  20.
  21. >In the center of the necklace is a brilliant fireruby, in the shape of a sphere and polished to a near mirror shine. Inside is a purple star, matching the pattern of twilight's cutie mark.
  22.
  23. >"She'll love it, Sir. I've never seen anything like this in all of my time."
  24.
  25. >You actually designed the necklace and commissioned the jeweler to make it come to life. It's taken over a month of work, and a very large sum of bits, but anything would be worth this.
  26.
  27. >With your little back box wrapped up with a white bow and safely tucked in your blazer, you set of to the library eager to start a night you surely won't forget.
  28.
  29. >After your short stroll to the library, you find yourself at its steps. You do a quick once over of yourself, straightening your coat and carnation. You knock and hear the sounds of books falling to the ground.
  30.
  31. >"J-Just a second!"
  32. "Twilight? Is everything alright?"
  33. >"Yes, yes, I just need to -AUGH- Move These books!"
  34. >Well, this is awkward, just standing outside the library. It's been just over a minute, and the door finally opens.
  35. >You see twilight sitting in the middle of the room, piles of books towering around her. She's staring intently at blue book when she addresses you.
  36. >"I"m sorry anon, I'm a bit behind on my shelving, and I'm a little light handed."
  37. "Oh? Where is spike? Doesn't he normally help with this?"
  38. >"He's at Canterlot castle, on royal business. He won't be back for two days"
  39. "Well, how about I help you get these books in order, then? The quicker we  get this done, the sooner we can go about the day, right?"
  40. >Twilight pulls her gaze from her and looks to you, with her large eyes that glisten and a big grin across her face.
  41. >"Really? Oh, that would be wonderful! I've been so busy lately and without spike to assist me, I've fallen just a teensy weensy behind schedule."
  42. >You chuckle lightly at the thought of what happened last time she fell behind schedule. There was a big fuss over a report, and a mishap involving a childhood doll of twilight's that a certain red stallion still has...
  43. >you spend the better part of the next hour shelving books with twilight. She would call out a destination and levitate a book to you. Being taller that p0nies you could easily put most books in their places, making things go by rather quickly in comparison if twilight had to do it alone.
  44. >With your shelving completed you stop and sit down at her table over some tea, and talk about what today's study topic should cover.
  45. "Well, I know we originally had the idea of discussing magic, but I have an idea."
  46. >"Sure. What did you have in mind, anon?"
  47. "Well, I was hoping we could actually take the day off. I know that studies are important, but I'd like to spend a day to thank you for being so helpful and kind to me over the past few years."
  48. >Twilight's face turned just a shade redder when you said this, and a small smile was brought to her face
  49. >"Oh anon, you don't have to do that for me, I'm happy to help.."
  50. >You set you tea down and stare at twilight with a small smile, and tell her:
  51. "But you deserve it, twilight. Even if I don't have to, I would still like to spend the day with you."
  52. >She really did deserve a day to relax and enjoy herself. She spends so much time studying and organizing that she almost never has time to herself.
  53.
  54. >Twilight blushes even more and sheepishly grins at you.
  55. >"Oh alright, if you really want to. What did you have in mind?"
  56. "Well if I told you, wouldn't that spoil the surprise?"
  57. >Little did she know that you've actually been planning a trip to the old Everfree ruins. One of the oldest, but least disturbed archeological sites. Few p0nies have ever gone there out of fear of the Everfree, but you've actually been there a few times with the help of Zecora.
  58. >She giggles and agrees, and just stares at you with her sparkling eyes and content smile.
  59. >This P0ne.
  60. "Speaking of surprises, I have a gift for you"
  61. >You reach into your blazer and pull out the crimson rose, and hand to Twilight.
  62. >She stared at it for a moment before letting out a squee, and hugging you.
  63. >She gives you a kiss on the cheek, and turns an adorable shade of red in the cheeks.
  64. >The next few hours pass as you sit at her table and discuss various things and enjoy each others company.
  65. >Time quickly passes and you decide it would be best to get ready for your big day ahead.
  66. >You help twilight add a few things to her saddlebag, upon your request. A notebook, quills and ink, and anything she feels like bringing.
  67. >Ready for the night ahead and with twilight beside you, you make your way to one of P0nyville's finer restaurants, SugarCube Corner.
  68.
  69. >You make small talk with Twilight as you traverse the busy streets of Ponyville, most of it however is her asking questions about what you have planned, and where you two are going.
  70. "I told you Twilight, it wouldn't be a surprise if I said what I planned. We do need to stop and see Pinkie to get some supplies for the trip though."
  71. >"Supplies? Trip? Where are we going?"
  72. >You chuckle, but stop and give a warm smile as soon as you see the slightest bit of worry in her eyes.
  73. >You kneel down and rest a hand on her shoulder and do your best to offer comforting words.
  74. "It's just out of town, and will be safe, I promise. I go there all the time, actually."
  75. >With that she perks up and trots happily along side you the rest of the way to SugarCube Corner.
  76. >The bells chime as you open the large wooden door, and as soon as you enter the bakery a sweet smell of sugar, chocolates, vanilla and a dash of Cinnamon tantalize you.
  77. >As soon as you step inside you find a pink blob blurs towards you and stop inches from you with her trademark grin.
  78. >Yep, that's pinkie alright.
  79. "Hey Pinkie, everything prepared?"
  80. >"You bet! I got everything right here for your super-duper big day!"
  81. >Pinkie then reaches behind her and pulls out a rather large wicker picnic basket, and a dark brown satchel.
  82. >"I did everything all on my own! I didn't even ask for help from the Cakes, I even got that thing you really wanted! It was really really hard to do everything but I told you I could! Hey! How about while you're here I tell you what surprise I have planned for Fluttershy's super surprising surprise birthday party! I was thinking we could all meet in Whitetail Woods-"
  83. >You kneel down, and put your hand on Pinkie's head, and she stops talking. You talk to her slowly and calmly.
  84. "You did a wonderful job Pinkie, I'm very impressed. Unfortunately we can't stay and visit, but I'll come by tomorrow and you can tell me all about it, alright? I'll make sure to tell the Cakes just how responsible you were with this order, too."
  85. >A smile beams ever wider across Pinkie's face, and she bounds happily back behind the counter to continue with her duties.
  86. >With a quick wave goodbye and your basket and satchel at your side, you walk out of SugarCube Corner with Twilight at your side.
  87. >Staring at the basket and what you know is inside, you let a small sigh escape your lips as a smile begins to rest on your face.
  88.
  89.
  90. >As you walk towards the outskirts of Ponyville, Twilight strikes up small conversation.
  91. >You talk about a variety of subjects, from her latest report to Princess Celestia, to the book series she's currently reading. It's simple, joyful conversation.
  92. >That's one of the things you like so much about Twilight, you can talk to her about anything, or nothing at all. You two can just enjoy the simple company of each other.
  93. >As you reach the end of town and begin to make your way to the forest, Twilight looks somewhat concerned.
  94. >"Hey Anon, where are we going? Don't you think it's a bit dangerous to go near the forest?"
  95. >you let out a small chuckle, and remember the trouble-free times you've gone there on your own.
  96. "Do you trust me?"
  97. >"Well, of course." She replies. "I just am a bit nervous I guess.."
  98. >Twilight flashes a sheepish grin, and her cheeks redden ever-so slightly.
  99. "Hey now, there's no need to be nervous, it will be totally safe, I promise."
  100. >You make it to the treeline, and begin to traverse a familiar path.
  101. >Your chest tightens slightly as you realize just how wonderful this night will be.
